By the way why do people have such a problem against bowing to some one out of respect... as long as people are able to use their buddhi and realize the difference between Sant and SGGS, there shouldn't be a problem....

I have to disagree with the statement that bollywood pollutes the mind... there are just as many garbage hollywood movies as there are bollywood ones... you have to look at the numbers proportionately.... and it's not like you watch every bollywood movie that comes out.... one has to be choosy about it just like one is choosy about watchin hollywood ones.... And there are many bollywood movies that are being made to bring out history or a social message such as Phir Milenge, Pinjar, mitr my friend and so on and so forth.... film media is a powerful tool that if used properly can convey messages to the masses and educate them on the issues that plague society.... As far as donating to the Sarbloh warriors, i have no such problem... i'd love to do it if they could mail out the info to my house as i don't have any cards to do online donation....

To the both of u.... and anyone else that hates the way Sikhs are being portrayed in movies.... Do something about, don't just sit behind your computers and complain, perhaps if your inclined into the industry, make a movie... or even write a script that you feel would justify sikhi.... honestly, i continually read people's complaint against bollywood, but have yet to see some effort being made on enlightening others about our religion.... unfortunately i decided sciences for my career choice, but for the other youngsters out there, make an effort to do something creative and different!

Ok, so this is what i kno.... the reason why many superstitious hindus and some odd sikhs don't like their house facing west is because muslims face west towards the Mecca and they actually prefer if their house faces that way.... I know of a hindu family living in my cul de sac who built their house but didn't realize until 2/3's of it were finished and then they tried selling it... took them over a year to sell it...but thas what i've heard....

well here's my case Amrik Ji..... All of the jobs we do are directly or indirectly sewa for the human kind... take the one i'm doing right now, working in a research lab, with my job if we can discover what causes the bioprosthetic valves to reject, hopefully it'll help in making the lives of people better (in the physical sense).... as a doctor , they do the sewa of the janta by findout what ails them and treat their bemaris....as teachers, they're sewa is on of the biggest types of sewa in educating and making children understand the world... And i say all of the jobs that we do are sewa, so what... r we all supposed to just stop charging everyone for what we do because it's a form of sewa..... Let's see if u can do it Amrik....

hmmm... i'm not here to argue, but Singhni Ji, I don't understand why ur so uptight against what Shaka Ji is saying, I mean, seriously, we all know that he's a tru blu Sikh, and what everyone else knows that u may not is that first of Shaka Ji is an intellectual who has studied and read up on religion, not only Sikhism but that of Islam, as well he knows people that are muslims and hence his information to me is a lot more valid that what I kno... i kno one should question the sources, but i don't think it's right to attack someone based on what they know... he's just stating the facts plain and simple!

Actually the real short story of Devdas is beautiful, however for commercial benefit, and trying to rake in on Aishwarya's success, Sanjay Leela Bhansali warped the the story to give her more scope as a character, cuz actually Paro doesn't have much in the short story.... she's supposed to be subordinate and quiet, not the aggressive and fiery chick she was shown to be... Chandramukhi is the main female character in the real story... I suggest everyone watch the Dilip Kumar and I believe Vijyanthimala movie... tru adaptation.

Living Ji.... the we as people are created unique and different from each other.... not two people are alike, even identical twins have their differences.... the problem is not the differences between the Sikhs but rather the intolerance of differences between people.... What has to happen is education of the masses first, enlighten them that differences are beautiful that they help us through this world.... if one has the ability to speak in front of people, and another can't but they can write really beautifully, than people should come together and help each other in their perspective strengths.... what happens mostly nowadays from my view is that the majority of the people that are indian in general (not just sikhs) are more obsessed about how to keep everyone else from being successful rather than trying to help one another.... so yeah, there needs to be a big time educational lesson to help overcome it...

That's an inspiring article, it's sad though that the author wasn't given recognition under the editorial section when first published.... that gives one an idea about the Indian Media mentality.... I for one am a jokes person and love reading and reciting them... however it has gotten out of hand the whole sardar ji as the indian version of a dumb blond.... I for one advocate that if one is goin to target a sardar ji, why not balance it out by targetting other groups as well, there are, after all Patel jokes out there too that are funny.... I'm not trying to advocate animosity between groups here, but i kno that sometimes there are certain things that groups do that are quite funny.... i'm just sayin that everyone should have a chance to be the butt of a joke.... My two cents....
