  1. We finally have some "Sikh Western Scholars"...the Panth is saved!!! I'm surprised G Kaur, Beast, Canadian_Jatti, Hari, Fatehsingh, and Niranjana didnt make the list...sniff sniff
  2. Alas, I'm not part of the "Bhenji Bhaji Club" so I very much doubt that it will happen...
  3. I wonder whether her personality is as plastic as her appearance?
  4. The presentation at Kings was designed for a different purpose... These 4 lectures will be easier to follow...and they have been designed to cater for students and those of different faiths....so they should be more enjoyable...
  5. Presentations were always fine...it was the brains of the audiences that couldnt keep up
  6. Aah yes ..and a special "Jee Aiyahn Noo" to all those individuals and/or groups (not mentioning any names) who think Akali Nihang Singhs and other Sanatan Sikhs are: a) "anti-Panthic" "negative elements" c) "Nangs" d) drug addicts/alcoholics/rapists/pimps, etc. e) slandering the Guru's works ..bla bla bla Hope to see you all there.... In addition, we would like to extend a superduper, "chardi kalaa", "chak-deh-phattey", "whoop-whoop", invite (with vegan cream on top) to: a) the esteemed Bhai Harjit Singh from Watford and his jatha the charismatic Bhai Sahib Jagjit Singh from Leeds and his jatha c) the legendary Inderjit Singh (aka "Fat Indy") and his jatha... Perhaps they can turn up and use this as an opportunity to rationally and calmly debate and discuss their views with regards to Akali Nihangs and Sanatan Sikhs.
  7. amandeepm, i wouldnt compare neeladhari sikhs to naamdharis...
  8. An old Punjabi proverb comes to mind after reading this... "Bandhar kya jaaney adhkar ka swaad?"
  9. Where is it mentioned that "Nihang Niddar Singh and his shagirds" believe in treh mudra"? All that is stated is that: "Why do the ancient Sikh historical texts such as Sarbloh Guru Durbar, Gurprtap Suraj Prakash, Naveen Panth Prakash etc. speak of 'Treh Mudra' ..." What "Nihang Niddar Singh and his shagirds" belive is irrelevant. Perhaps Nihang Gurmant Singh can shed some light on matters..
  10. Amandeep, just to set the record straight... Nihang Niddar Singh is in fact a 25th century hard-light hologram sent back into time to disrupt the Sikh youth, destroy "Panthic Unity" and lead the forces of darkness to vanquish the glory of Sikhs. His weapons (karas, kukris, etc are however real) da militant...perhaps Shastar Vidiya isnt for you, so its probably best to find another class out there that is more akin to what you consider "practical". Afterall, we dont want anyone to "lose track of reality"...especially in today's climate of such reality-conscious Sikhs.
  11. ...Guru is still Guru regardless of appearance... Perhaps you might wanna rethink your analogy
  12. I wish I had turned up to get darshan of such mighty jewels of the panth too. ...guess my karams aint up to it..
  13. ..cant beat Suraj Prakash... I wonder what these Akalis were like...
  14. drawof I agree with you that there the use of metaphor does exist. However, whether we stay in reality or the bounds of mythology depends upon the context. As yet, Singh47 who insists on using this term has not come up with a plausible explanation for "96 Crore".
  15. “What I meant by “96 crore Shaheed Singhs†are the spirits of 96 crore Singhs who have laid down their lives for the protection of Dharm†- Singh47 Rite...now we are getting somewhere. So, according to you, "96 crore Shaheed Singhs" (ie, 960,000,000 Singhs) have given their lives for the protection of Dharam. I assume that to become a 'Shaheed Singh', that Singh must once have lived. Unless of course we are taking about Spirits that become "Shaheed" without actually dying..in which case we have stumbled upon an interesting paradox and one for the paranormal scientists to investigate further... This "96 Crore", ie, 960,000,000 is a HUGE number...a number just short of the current population of India (Jai Hind!!) So, Singh47, taking this a step further... When exactly did so many Singhs lay down their lives :?: Either my logic has flaws, or someone/something should be held responsible for a record-breaking mass genocide of the 960,000,000 Sikh lives sometime during the last 500 years....or 300 years if you assume 'Singhs' came along after 1699. Assuming we have 20,000,000 Sikhs in the world today, lets do a very rough calculation. Lets say every century has 4 generations. So, over the last 500 years we have had roughly 4x5 generations...ie 20 generations. Even if ignore demographic data structures, growth extrapolations, etc etc, and overestimate the cumulative Sikh population by multiplying 20 generations by 20,000,000 Sikhs (the product being 400,000,000), we still dont come close to 960,000,000. We have 560,000,000 unaccounted for...oh dear!! The closest we have to anything close to such a number are the attrocities committed by Hilter and Stalin. In fact I doubt the population of India was close to 960,000,000 in the past, let alone the Sikhs...be it over several generations...or perhaps contraception is more effective than we thought Singh47, perhaps you could offer an explanation with regards to how these '96 Crore' Shaheed Singhs came into being. In fact after examining your explanation, even the "cloud" hypothesis seems more likely....
  16. http://www.shastarvidiya.org/downloads/mai/mai.html Krishna Godhania and Shastar Vidiya Gurdev Nihang Niddar Singh
  17. drawoff, where exactly did you get this information from? Perhaps you could list your source(s) regarding the definiton of "96 Crore". What have clouds got to do with Shaheed Singhs? Just curious..
  18. Rehitnama is printed within the Budha Dal Weapons License... I'll scan the relative pages from mine when I have some time...
  19. So, what does 960 000 000 refer to? I figure if we take this slowly that eventually we may get the explanation from you...
