in the same way that halal has now become easily available with the muslims havinbg their own abbatoirs and being allowed to kill animals without stunning them, so what would be the first step to take for Jhatka to be given the same status as halal?

which govt body would we need to go to first?

There is one Lal Patke Da Jhatka at road from south hall to cranford. Perhaps Local food authorities which provide licence should be contacted. Contact local Sikh solicitors or political leaders like mayor of hounslow, try to take support of Hindus and budhists and pagans like BNP. Visit jhatka.org http://jhatka.org/. Jaikara can help you to contact the web master ravi ranjan Singh. Take help Muslims too has if they find food labelled Jhatka, they may be saved for not having non Halal.

Das used to kill fowl by tearing and twisting thier neck by hands, this was a sin.Akal punished him with spasm in intestine, so das may not be able to take jhatka in future. Such kind of killing was neither Jhatka and worst then Jibbah.

Are you serious? That is nuts.

I'd rather go vegetarian.

So you actually think it is okay to cosy up with neo-nazis to get jhatka?

In anycase, given as lots of whites in Briton are going in a rightward direction, I think the last thing some of them want now is more perceived 'concessions' to foreigners. Plus we have the strong possibility of rightwing neo-nazis wading in (acting as if they are on our side) in some stupid attempt to bash Muslims.

Forget any massive 'campaign' type thing. We are a minority whereever we go, don't forget that. Best thing is to try and contact local friendly farmers and arrange for things to done on a small scale first. Just make sure you have a strong, sustainable, local demand before you do all of this. I know where I live there would be enough sales to sustain it for instance.

At the end of the chain is going to be someone (a farmer) who wants to make a living and doesn't really give a hoot about jhatka or patka or whatever.

Don't forget that. Plus who is going to do the slaughtering, gutting and cleaning on a largeish scale?

this is one thing that i was thinkning about. Now the way the Nihangs do it, first they wash the goat, then do chandi di war, and then the chatka.

Firstly, does only 1 Chandi di war paath have to be done for all the animals every day?

also isnt it better if its actually a Singh doing the chatka, gutting and preparation?

then, if it was to be done on large scale, obviously it would cause problems in getting Singhs to do the chatka, although creating employment as well.

now what parts of the goat are actually eaten?

I think people should recite this tuk instead of chandi di vaar when doing jhatka in the west: :o)

Kabīr jorī kī▫e julam hai kahṯā nā▫o halāl.

Kabeer, to use force is tyranny, even if you call it legal.

Ḏafṯar lekẖā māʼngī▫ai ṯab ho▫igo ka▫un havāl. ||187||

When your account is called for in the Court of the Lord, what will your condition be then? ||187||

Kabīr kẖūb kẖānā kẖīcẖrī jā mėh amriṯ lon.

Kabeer, the dinner of beans and rice is excellent, if it is flavored with salt.

Herā rotī kārne galā katāvai ka▫un. ||188||

Who would cut his throat, to have meat with his bread? ||188||

The word Jhatka comes from Jatt Khana, since it used to be the food of the strong northern indians :o)

Do you seriously believe in this?

I know you actually read up on things, surely you can't be that ignorant? Or are you just dying to get the word Jatt in at every opportunity you can? lol

Haha ever since i read a sikh encyclopedia about jatts I have been challenging myself to get the word jatt in at every opportunity possible haha.

THere is an island in Denmark called Jottland. According to this famous encyclopedia it was named this after jatts immigrated to this island 3000 years ago haha.. THere is nothing the jatts will not claim as theirs.

Knowing our lot I bet these guys will quickly become some new 'low caste'. lol

Basically you are talking about an Amritdhari becoming a livestock farmer and then running their own abattoir.

In the west abattoirs and farms usually seem to be separate entities, with the farmer sending his animal to slaughter, not doing it himself. At least that what it seems like according to the TV farm programs I've seen? (I know, I know, hardly indepth research.....)

It does seem a bit strange when you industrialise it like this. I mean it would be hard not to look at a Singh who decapitates dozens of goats a day for a living as somewhat ajeeb...

Maybe the whole jhatka thing doesn't translate into modern mass consumption very well. It would bee very expensive too, seeing as it should be organic type not the 'stack them and pack them' type?

Specialist.

The impact of Amardeep's dad repeatedly playing his 'Putt Jatt da' cassette whilst having a 'glassy shaashy' is manifesting itself.....

lol

<He is goofing I'm sure, he seems to have found a new sense of sarcastic humor - or the Jatt pendu brainwashing is starting to unexpectedly kick in, in a Manchurian candidate fashion!!>

Das is here not to argue.Das is vegetarian now and may not eat meat in future.

Kabīr parīṯ ik si▫o kī▫e ān ḏubiḏẖā jā▫e.

Kabeer, when you are in love with the One Lord, duality and alienation depart.

Bẖāvai lāʼnbe kes kar bẖāvai gẖarar mudā▫e. ||25||

You may have long hair, or you may shave your head bald. ||25||

(Ang 1365)

These are also verses of Kabir Sahib Ji.

Should Amritdhari follow this ?

Bhai Amardeep Singh Ji

Das should be careful when telling apnay to form links with neo-nazis.

Already we have fools doing this here, and it is making us look bad.

Well many times you have to form temporary alliances with your enemies. From thousands of years kings have been doing this. This is called raajneeti .Now in countries like UK where sikhs are facing problems with both they have to decide

Which alliance is better for them as we all know what is the power of sikhs anywhere in the world.

What is the point in mainstreaming jhatka meat? it was never meant for mass production, is'nt it just wasting blood of animals? if people want to eat meat let them do so in groups and slaugther the animals themselves instead of buying it as some commodity.

That is the language of the scared.

Let Sikhs make their own reputation. Supporting BNP/EDL types who most educated English people (i.e. those in power) are embarrassed of and generally try to show they are against shows really poor rajniti understanding in any case.

In India you will not have an understanding of ground realities, so people should stay quiet.

Plus, lets be honest, our recent history has been one of latching our wagons to one party or another and it has worked out quite badly for us in my opinion.

Now, we should all understand that we need to carve our own way in the world, not jump on the coat tails of others who take us in a direction that we end up regretting later.

Rajniti means we should have some understanding of where we want to get too. Not jump into bed with ugly people at the first sign of an impending fight.

Before we do anything we need to focus on increasing our own cohesion and unity and seeing how strong we are, before we jump into x, y or z's lap.

If you think about it. If there was enough of a demand for jhatka, then people would have probably catered for it. It is the rule of supply and demand?

I am sorry this is not the language of scared. This is about politics. If you feel muslims are lesser enemies then go ahead make an alliance with them but I don't think sikhs have numbers, unity will etc to do anything on their own anywhere in the world

And BTW this was the tactics applied by Badals to capture Punjab. They too made an alliance with RSS/BJP .What happened to those who used to shout le ke rahenge Khalistan. They are now sitting in their homes or they just type in their media or are restricted to forums.

Only time will tell.

If the far right ever really get power here it will be because the country is absolutely in the toilet.

By then most people with a brain would've left.

Anyway, I know the brothers from India haven't got a clue about politics either. So I shouldn't be too surprised to hear silly things in that area I guess.

Same old dumb stuff from apnay about joining x, y and z.
