He is and is only, will only ever be a "alternative" But anybody who calls him a idiot is stupid. Because an idiot is not. Indias success is down to his work as a Finance Minister under the rao government back in the 90's. The policies he introduced have not been touched (well not 100%). So he is very intelligent in the worldly sense. You have to remember, the position he is in, he really can do anything, even if he wanted to. I was watching this program on CNN (I know), where they were interviewing Sonia Ghandi and Manmohan Singh, they indirectly said that they expected this (bad reaction of pro-hindu groups to go against her) to happen and that she knew she could not be the PM of India, hence Dr Manmohan Singh was ready for the "front of house" role. So not an idiot, but neither he is a Sikh. Do you honestly believe a Sikh in full Sikh attire will win if he really ran for election? come on guys wake up. The credit of India's success should also go to Narsimha Rao as He was the PM at that time.No Finance minister can implement policies without the nod of PM The policies Manmohan singh introduced was the need of that time as India copied soviet model and soviet collapsed so India has to look for an alternative. Anyway Manmohan singh is an Idiot because What happened to Rao will happen to him.Practically everybad thing that happened in congress regime in 80s and 90s is blamed on him.He was blamed for delaying action in 84 riots,anderson running in Bhopal tragedy and Babri masjid demolitaion.While all credit for development is given to Rajiv and congress party.Now at present truck loads of scams are happening under Manmohan singh,in future every bad thing that is happening today is being blamed on him while all credit is going to be given to Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
