  1. ON DEVOTION Almost all beings are engaged in some type of devotion. Some devote themselves to the the 5 primal elements, of which, constitutes the whole creation. Like stones, paper, metals or wood from earth, rivers, tanks, sea, from water element, air, fire ; stars, sun, moon, planets ... in the space element ... This is a picture of the world engaged in different types of rituals and ceremonies, taken as acts of devotion. But the fact is, anything made from the 5 elements alone, which are consciousless by themselves, is not permanent, thus perishable. But the pity is that, human beings, believe that they are actually offering their love and devotion to their deities. Souls, are of a differnt nature, namely spiritual beings. And whenever, this soul comes and abides in something like a body, it gives life to it, and permeates it, giving it a level of consciousness which that vessel can be capable of witholding it, means make those embodiments in living creatures. The minimun level of consciousness, is in the last step of the creation in the vegetable kingdom, and the maximum is in the human form, betweem them are three other levels. After the vegetable kingdom, then comes in the second place, the kingdom of insects. In the third place is the kingdom of those born from eggs: bird kingdom, and in the fourth place, is the kindom of mammals, mostly four legged. So the level of consciousness, in each of these kingdoms depends on the elements active in them. Vegetable kingdom, has only one elemnt active in them, which is water. In the insect kingdom, only fire and air are active. In the birds kingdom, water fire and air are active. In the mammal kingdom , water, air, fire and earth are active, And in the top of creation, is the man, who has all the 5 elemets active in him, such as : water, air, earth, fire, and akash or ether, which is responsible for the sense of discrimination in him. And in this ladder of the creation, our aim is to go even higher and higher, up to Sach Khand. And for this very reason, Wahiguru has given us the human form. It is the most valuable gift, by Him. Because, this human form is not got so easily, it is the fruit of many many shubh karmas in many lives; but if we do not take the proper advantage of this golden chance, we shall fall from the last step, and fall downwards in any species....and the wheel of births and deaths will go on non stop. That is why Gurmukhs, advise us to make the best of this human form, and that is to do the bhakti of the real Creator, in order to release ourselves from births and deaths. And so what is that devotion, or which type of bhakti is that, which frees us from all bondages and washes our ignorance and sins? Well, the Bani has answers for these concrete questions. Fifth Patshahee, tells us, it is the Simran of Wahiguru. That is why He says: Prabh ka Simran, garbh na vaseh: means, by His Simran, you shall not come into womb again. The Bani does not say, do so many rituals, follow so many rules, practice hardships, or leave your home and family, nor wander like yogis ... but do only one thing. Practice the meditation, of that primal and eternal One Pure Truth, and so you shall become. Meditate on lifless things, and you shall become a ghost in your next life ....meditate or give your devotion to, plants, trees, birds and animals, like snakes....you shall fall down to the level of your object of devotion, and become one of them. It is said: Jaisay dhiaeeyeh, taisa hoeeyeh. Means, as you dwell or meditate upon, so shall you become. So meditate only, and that also, on the only Supreme Being, which has the highest level of Consciousness, and you shall reach there and become one with Him. The main concern of the true Gurmukhs, is not to create any new religion, or any bondages around our necks, like politics, land, mazab, etc .... but their main concern is our souls; and how to unite us with our true Father, Satnam. These Gurmukhs will be of any place or time, but they will always come with one message, with the message of true love, and true devotion, to the only True One, Akal Purukh, through the bond or relation of Nam Simran. And as we have to devote ourselves to Him, let us learn from them(Sant Janas, Gurmukhs, Braham Gyanis, Sadhs...), which is that bhakti, which is accepted by Him. Because bhakti is done for the purpose of pleasing Him. But for that, we must know, what pleases Him the most, or is accepted willingfully by Him. For that also, our Fifth Patshah Sree Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj says: Prabh ka Simran, dargeh manee. Means, the Simran of the Lord, is the only devotion which pleases Him, and is thus accepted in His Court. The teachings of our Gurus, are kept open for all of us. So it is for us, to make a through introspection, and see how much we are real sikhs by following Gurmat, or how much manmukhs are we, by following our own "maanmat", means everything else which is not in the Bani, but created by us in some way or the other. It os o.k, that we are born in some culture, and in a particular community, and there is nothing wrong in following our customs, as we are also social beings, but not because of that, we stop looking, understanding and practicing the Bani, as per the concrete and direct instructions in it. Bani is no theory, meant for sadhus, or mahapurukhs only; but rather for each and evey single human being, and that also, for the only purpose of merging in Him, and becoming Him. We shall not sit beside Him, or with many others, on arriving there .... but we shall become Him, and Him means, He alone.... there where He is, there is no multiplicty or variety.... but only Him, Wahiguru Akal Purukh.
  2. Almost all of us by now, know what is the term Shabad . And the term Guru also, means the dispeller of darknes, the remover of darkness. But what type of darkness is, the one which the Guru removes? Is it the darkness of the night, which our Guru Sahibans refer to? No, the darkness which the Bani refers, is the univerasl one, which is spread throughout, and covers all the creation below Sach Khand, the land of eternal Light. And the other darkness, which is referred to, is the individual or collective darkness, in the form of ignorance, superstitions, and as well as, the other outer activities used for God realization. So there are 2 ways of removing these 2 types of darkness. Firstly, by getting in the company of the holy, or Sadh kee Sangat, because there, our budh, our vivek, sense of discrimination, of the unreal and real, is awakened and developed. Once this is done, then naturally, one tries to find the only One everlasting Truth, which is Satpurukh or Satnam. This is the key to the second and final awareness. So when we turn our attention inwards to find that Truth, again we see nothing but darkness. And this darkness, can not be dispelled by any torch light or bulb, nor thousands of suns and moons together. The inner realms are inmense.... So there in those planes, that Shabad guides the sikh, the soul, the chela ... thus is called Shabad Guru, because it guides the soul with its radiance(divine light) and melodious Sounds(Shabad) emanating from that "attee sundar roop" , right up to its real Home: Sach Khand. If it was not in the company of the Shabad, the soul can never reach it´s Home, because the darkness there is so thick, that unless one gets hold to that Shabad or Nam, it is impossible otherwise. Now, we may say, it is fine to hold to the Shabad, but how to do that, or is it possible to do that. Because that Nam is within us, how to reach there or get hold of that Shabad Guru? Well, the Bani says: awar kaaj tere kitteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat aur bhaj kewal Nam. Just do Nam Simran with love and faith, and we shall sit in the Jahaaz of Nam, and sail safely without any fear, to our Nijh Ghar, Sach Khand. This is the wadeeayee of Shabad Guru
  3. The more I read your and Sat´s meditative experiences, the more I can say, that you guys are just blessed ones, by Him. This is His greatness, and nobody can question Him. At one place Sat says, as some mahapurush told him, that his pyar was kachha, or even you Lucy have said, that you are no gyani or something like that, but the thing is, when He wants to give something, ther is no question of being worthy or not. Because His glance of mercy, can change even dust(sinners) into gold(gurmukhs). And this all is possible, as I usually stress on the practice of Nam Simrann, you have put your sincere efforts in the Nam Simran. He is a bountiful giver... when He wants to give someone anything, He just gives His unlimited Daya Meher. As the bani says: Jevad Aap, tevaad Teree daat. And that His daat is not material, but He just makes us taste the Amrit of Nam, which is flowing within each and everyone of us all the 24 hours nonstop...the thing is, we have to reach there, and that is only possible with His Simran. May He bless you guys more and more, just keep your sincere efforts, up regularly. Wah wah Sachay Badshah.
  4. Lust, as well as any other vices, are the cause of the mind being polluted and dragged towards sin and hell. Indeed is a very mighty enemy to fight. But our Guru Sahibans, especially Sachay Patshah Satgur Arjun Dev Maharaj, in His composition Sukhamani Sahib, gives us the medicine to erradicate not only lust, but all dirt from our minds.... He says: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਲੁ ਜਾਇ Prabh ka Simran, maan kee mal jaae By the rememberance of the Lord, through His Simran, the filth of the mind is removed. Then He also says: ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ Prabh Kai Simaran Thrisanaa Bujhai By the remeberance of the Lord, the thirst for desires is quenched forever. Each one of us should read the Sukhmani Sahib, with love and attention, because it has all the answers for all our doubts, queries, misunderstandings, moorakhta....and thus by applying what is said by our beloved Sachay Pathshah, we need no more to wander from door to door, asking and looking for"gyan" or information.....It is a shame, having our Wahiguru in the form of Guru Arjun Dev when on earth, who has left for us the true richest treasure in His Bani...and we are looking and expecting for copper coins from others. Aren´t we moorakhs? The Bani left by our Guru Sahibans, is for all of us to apply it daily in our lives, so that we benefit from it´s pure effects, and become inmaculate, to stand in the eyes of Wahiguru. Their teachings, as said before, are for any ordinary person...not for any gyanis, or sants or baabes .... no no...it is meant for our uplift from human beings, to the level of Wahiguru. This is their parsad for all of us, and if we try it, by practicing it, we shall for sure reach His Court. Because as He once again says: Prabh ka Simran, dargeh maneh, means, this devotion to the Lord Wahiguru, through His Simran, is the only devotion accepted in His Court, and this vey devotion, will take you there to Him, also. Anand bhayaa meree maee, Satgur toh me paaya....
  5. ON THE IMPORATNCE OF ABHYAAS ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਦਾ ਹੈ ਦਿਸੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ Saahib Maeraa Sadhaa Hai, Dhisai Sabadh Kamaae Dhan Satgur Sachay Patshah Amar Das Jee,in Raag Gujri, is telling us, that Wahiguru Akal Purukh is ever present, means deathless, beyond time, but He can only be seen or realized, by the sacred practice of Nam Simran or Shabad kamaee. Let us ask ourselves sincerely, how many of us practice these commandments of our Guru Sahibans? No matter, if we do thousand other things, but if we fail to follow Gurmat, we shall achieve nothing, but just failure. Because Gurmat or any religion´s purpose, is to help us and guide us to reach our destination: Akal Purukh. And as seen in the words of Sree Guru Amar Das, it is only through Nam Simran, or Shabad kee kamaee.
  6. Sikhism, is a path based on a relation, of only love, faith and devotion towards Wahiguru Akal Purukh. And this path has been laid down by our beloved Guru Sahibans, to walk through it, with bravery, purity and full courage, so that at the end, we get a glimpse of the most beautiful...Wahiguru Akal Purukh.
  7. A Very Nice Reflection. For Those, Who Do Not Speak Punjabi, Just Try To Read Slowly And The Deep Meaning, Will Be Clear. You Also Have A Translation. Is Our Test !! Hey Waheguru Ji, Oh Beloved God Sanu Har Haal Wich Shuker Karna Sikhao Ji Teach Us To Be Grateful To You Always Dhan Guru Nanak Rakhi Laaj, Merciful God, Has covered my Faults Kisi De Na Hoiye Mohtaaj May I Always Be Blessed And May I Never Be Dependent On Any One Else Saanu Bas Teri Hee Aas Only You, Are Our Only Hope Satguru Rakhna Charna De Paas. And, Beloved Guru, Keep Us At Your Lotus Feet!! __________________ May We All Learn To Thank The Lord For What He Gives And Takes, As He Does All In Our Interest.
  8. Most of us have wrong impressions of what Wahiguru is, or what He can do... We take Him mostly like a wish fulfiller... like the genie of Aladino´s lamp... For example, in reference to the present topic; we see an apple tree.... we know that, if we are seeing this tree, is because the apple seeds were planted. While planting any seeds, we have the choice to decide what we want. But once the tree has grown up, with all its leaves, trunks and branches, no matter how much you pray ..... the apples can not be changed into potatoes. And not because, He is supposed to do the changes; but because whatever happens, happens according to the perfect laws of Nature, and these laws were established by the only One Perfect Creator, Akal Purukh. And so if He is Perfect, let us think, do we want to tell Him, this is wrong what is happening, so now change it, because Your planning and laws do not apply to my logic and thinking.... It is an absurd and inmature thinking... we are the imperfect ones, and we are telling Him, what He should do or not do....and then too we challenge Him, by saying, as You do not have the powers to adjust my karmas as per my view, I have lost all faith in You, so now I do not believe in You... What a shame.... He who has nourished us, when we were in our mother´s womb...He who is the support of even of our heartbeat, the very loving protector of our souls... and we deny Him? Our shame and ignorance has no limits... When everything turns against us, we should hold on Him, even more tightly. Because when He sees, that His child inspite of all his karmas against him, calls on Me alone for grace... Then He does not withold His unlimited Daya Meher ... He gives us the support from within. No matter how so ever ferocious is the storm, or even Tsunamis or earthqukes... He will protect us, He will not change His laws, but yes, He will give us the strength from within, to face anything with calmess and full faith. So next time, let us think twice, or even a thousand and a one times, before uttering any nonsense from our mouths. Otherwise as we are already condemmed, we shall also loose the only ray of hope, which is none other than Sachay Patshah Akal Purukh.
  9. Nam, as per the Bani, is a Conciouss creative power or energy. Nam, is not any word or couplet of words in any language, neither spoken nor written. For example, we say water, so the word water written or spoken, does not bring water there, in that book or in one´s mouth, but it conveys some idea or information about that particular thing. Our Gurus, tell us that, through this power, all creation came into existence, and it is also our origin. It pervades everything and everywhere. All that we see or do not see, whether physical, astral, causal or even spiritual, is all created by this Nam or Shabad. The Bani says: Shabde dhartee, Shabde akash, Shabde Shabad bhaaya parkash. The earth, the skies...were created by the Shabad; and from that Shabad, the Light came forth. Saglee shrishtee Shabad ke paachay. The whole creation is a reflection of that Shabad Nanak, Shabade ghatay ghat aachaay. Nanak, and that Shabad pervades in each and every heart. So we can see, that Shabad, if it were some words, in which language were those words, when Wahiguru created the creation? And if He created it, did He at all need to talk with someone to create that creation? And if wahiguru alone existed, previous to any creation, in what language did He need to think, to do anything? Languages, speech, writing .... are all limited worldly affairs, which involves interaction of the mind...and as we all know, Wahiguru has no mind like us...He is beyond the spheres of the reach of mind. Akal Purukh is Nirankar, means formless. But according to the teachings of our Guru Sahibans, inspite of being formless, He can still be seen and heard by our souls, but of course not with these our physical sense organs. That is why Guru Angad Dev Maharaj says : Akhee bajoh vekhna, bin kanna sun/nah...pherah bajoh chalnaa, bin hatha karnaa ... Means, He can be seen, but not with these eyes. He can be heard, by not with these ears. There we need not feet to walk, nor do we need hands to do any devotion. This Shabad has sound and light, which as said before is within each one of us, irrespective of, who we are, or where we are from. Any wabhagee jeev, who follows the instructions as per the Bani, can hear this Shabad and see its Jot. Guru Amar Das refering in this sense says: Nam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. Means, establish firmly this Nam by its simran, and you will feel its spiritual vibrations, in the form of Holy Sound and Divine Light. Guru Sahiban is clearly clearing our agyanta, as many of us believe that when we go there in the spiritual realms, we shall see many people like us, of the race, mazab, dharam or community we may belong... This is totally wrong, as long as we think in that way, it shows only that we have not understood guramt at all, we are wandering in superstitions and ignorance, we are confused and misinformed... Because the Bani clearly says: Jin Har japiyaa, se har hoeeyaa. This means, whoever meditated on Him, without any distiction became one with Him. Just as if the drops merge and become one with the Ocean, who can trace them...moreover, who wants to remain as a drop? If not so, then it means, we have not understood the Bani at all, because we have limited it between the four walls of our poor and polluted minds. Thus we have done a great unjustice to our Guru Sahibans, in a way, it is disrespect to them, by twisting the meaning of their Bani. Because with our behaviour, we are unconscioussly saying, what is written in the Bani and it really means, that I do not care, but I will do as it is interpreted by our leaders, and is follwed so since quite a reasonably long time... so there is no question to think otherwise. This can be proved, if we take any slok or pauree, or any Shabad from the Bani, and read it carefully with attention, each and every single word, and then ask ourselves, does my thinking and understanding fully match with Gurmat ? Though it may seem a difficult task, but it needs a lot of sincerity and courage from our side, to face ourselves. Because if we are sincere, we shall get the answers from our vey hearts. Gurbani is perfect from any angle and point of view, it is only that we are weak. But we have to be brave, we have to overcome our weakness, that also, with the guidance of the Bani. Not to listen or read the Bani like parrots, nor as theories, but as something practical, to fulfill our only purpose of becoming one with Wahiguru Akal Purukh. As the Bani says: Saas saas simroh Gobind(Wahiguru ka simran), meditate constantly on Him, the Creator. We may ask, only that, but what for? Well, the Bani clearly says: Jin Har japiyaa, se Har hoeeya . It is the only way, the only jugtee, to become one with Akal Purukh. The Bani does not say, that in order to become one with Wahiguru, practice rituals, rules, regulations, pilgrimages, idol worship, poojas, jap, tap, dogmas, fastings, torturing your bodies ..... nothing of that sort. We only need to oneheartedly love Him, and have to Him only, in our minds as our goal. Otherwise we shall be born in other lower realms of the wheel of eighty four, where we can fulfill our worldly desires of land, mazab, politics, race or community, because then we shall have all that, but not Him. The thing is, He is a jealous lover. So we have to choose, if we have Him only in our hearts, or we have many other concepts/things also. If we want Him, then only Him we should have in our hearts and minds. From others we can get guidance or even inspiration, but it is from Him only, that we can get Him. What a pity. We must bear in mind, Wahiguru has nothing to do with these petty distractions. His concern is only for our soul, His essence. And the only thing one has to do, to return its true Home Sach Khand, is to love Wahiguru alone, by observing and respecting the laws of Nature, in order not to get more entangled in the mayavee creation. But then, some may ask, o.k to love Him alone, but how to do that? The Bani says do only one thing: Awar kaaj, tere kitteh na kaam, mil Sadh Sangat, aur bhaj kewal Nam. This bhaj kewal Nam, is the key to love Him, and also to realize and merge in Him. That is why the Bani says: Nanak, Nam jahaaz hae . Satguru Dev Maharaj is telling us: Nam is the only vehicle, to reach Wahiguru, which is, His Simran So, by now we see Nam can never be some words... it is a power which created the creation, and it is also the very vehicle, with which we can return back Home, Sach Khand. The Bani also says: Har Simran meh, Prabh aap Nirankara. Though He is formless, He has kept Himself, in His Nam, which can alone be unfolded, by His grace and the Gurparsad. Ikonkar, Satgur Parsad.
  10. It is a well known statement to the mankind, the following words: Dust of the Feet of the Saints, this expression is also mentioned in the Bani. Means, we bow our head to that being, in whose presence we feel and know, that we are nothing.... It shows a great reverence and respect to whom we considere the embodiment of True wisdom. People bow to others for various reasons, be it be parents, gurus, bosses, etc. But according to the Bani, the meaning of applying the Dust of the Saints(hum Santan kee raein pyaree, hum Santan kee sarnaa), to one´s forehead, is keeping their teachings in mind at all times. Because by applying that Dust, their teachings, one´s face becomes radiant. Means, one is filled with the divine light which we all carry within us, but, that Jot, that Prakash, that Divine Light of Akal Purukh, appears in us. That appearing of Light, does not mean, that Light is not there now because we do not see it yet, but we do not see it, because we are impure with a heavy load of sins upon us, but by applying that Dust on our faces and foreheads, means as said before, is to keep their teachings in mind at all times. This practice has 2 main advantages for the souls. First, it stops us from creating sins, and secondly at the same time, it washes our previous sins. So naturally, as the mirror of our dirty muddy mind gets purified or cleansed, that Divine Light comes forth, by the darkness getting dispelled. Such is the mahanta of the Gurmukhs. Now the question is, what is the essence of the teachings of our Guru Sahibans, in simple words? That is : Saas Saas Simroh Gobind. By meditating on that Gobind, through the Simran of His Name, He Himself comes to abide Himself in us. This, Their(Gurmukhs) "charan dhoor"(Gurmat), is thus available to anybody, at any time and any place... we just need to apply this jugtee, free and available to all, without any restriction or discrimination...it is universal for all. My God, can we ever imagine the real measure of the blessings that we have received from our Gurus, through their Bani? Its beauty, its sweetness is beyond any description, or even imagination. We can only say: Wah wah Sachay Patshah
  11. Brother, the law of karma, is the law working in the Triloki(physicall, astral, causal) creation. We have all heard, as you sow,so you get. We must keep in mind, that whatever happens to us, is nothing but our own created karmas, may they be of the past, but of course they are our very own. Nothing is beyond it reach. Whatever pain, suffering we get, is our own account. Nobody can do you any harm, or you get less or more, than what is written in your destiny. All our friends, foes, relations, friends, family members, failures, success...is nothing but an adjustment of inter relation karmic account. So please, do nobody ever blame beloved Wahiguru. He is not responsible for our destinies...we are the makers of our own. I do totally sympathise your sorrowful condition, but please, do understand the laws of mother Nature....He can not be bribed, or do any favoritism to anybody.... He can not go against His own laws.... He is not like we corrupted people, that wherever we are, we want to manipulate the conditions in our favour.... We should learn, to be honest, by respecting the laws of Nature , and act accordingly. People wrongly think, that Wahiguru makes some rich, others poor, others sick, others with other sort of problems...... That is totally wrong. It is Dharam Rai, who administrates justice in this Triloki creation, not Wahiguru.... Thank Him for that, because if He were to judge us, there would no other to seek refuge.... He can do anything, but not judge us.... And do you know why? Because He is an Infinite Ocean of mercy.... Because of this His main virtue, He is known as Dayal Purukh also. Karmas work beyond our logic. Dhritrashtra was blind since biirth. Once he asked Krishna, why was he blind? With his "yog tap", he had gone 99 lives back, and could not see any action or karma performed by him as to make him blind. So Krishna with his own power, made him go 5 lives further, means in his 104th back, he made him see, that he was sitting near a pond, and with something pointed, he took out the eyes of a worm or insect maybe .... so you see, it is not at all in one´s hands, when or how is your karma going to come on the surface of your life ... or how it will affect you.... Karmas are very strange, for our understanding, but not because of that unjust..... If one really wants Wahiguru to help one .... let us try to reach the stage of Consciousness, where He really is, and see it for ourselves. The question then maybe, how to do that? Well according to Gurmat, that is not difficult at all. Do Nam Simran, make yourself pure paviter, and reach at His Lotus Feet, bow before Him baaram baar... and see for yourself then, what the answers He gives you .... I doubt, you may have any then, because by reaching His level, automatically you also aquire the wisdom of His Bhaana, His Mauj.... Our beloved Sachaay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj, was all powerfull, why the hell He had to undergo the pain on Himself, of the hatred of the ill minded people... If He wished, He could just finish them by His will .... in seconds ... But, did He do that? No. Why? Christ also was crucified. So painful, and dread also, isn´t it? And yet He said: let Thy will be done. Being one with Akal Purukh, does not mean, one starts behaving as one wants and manipulating Nature...rather one acts more responsibily by respecting the laws of Nature. That is the difference, between us petty minded humans and them, the universal minded, Gurmukhs. These Gurmukhs do not live by their will, but by His will. By His will, they come, stay and go. It it on them depended, they would never ever come here, the valley of pain and misery. But because of their love for Wahiguru, they come by his Hukum, to help us, the blind and ignorant, to help us cross this huge Bhavsagar....
  12. What is important in any religion? YOUR RELIGION IS NOT IMPORTANT A brief dialogue between a Brazilian theologist Leonardo Boff and the Dalai Lama : In a round table discussion about religion and freedom in which Dalai Lama and myself were participating at recess, I maliciously, and also with interest, asked him: “Your holiness, what is the best religion?” I thought he would say: “The Tibetan Buddhism” or “The oriental religions, much older than Christianity” But Dalai Lama paused, smiled and looked me in the eyes …. which surprised me because I knew of the malice contained in my question. But he answered: “The best religion is the one that gets you closest to God. It is the one that makes you a better person.” To get out of my embarrassment with such a wise answer, I asked: “What is it that makes me better?” He responded: “Whatever makes you more compassionate, more sensible, more detached, more loving, more humanitarian, more responsible, more ethical.” “The religion that will do that for you, is the best religion. I was silent for a moment, marvelling and even today thinking of his wise and irrefutable response: “I am not interested, my friend, about your religión or if you are religious or not. “What really is important to me is your behaviour in front of your peers, family, work, community, and in front of the world.” “Remember, the universe is the echo of our actions and our thoughts.” “The law of action and reaction is not exclusively for physics. It is also of human relations. If I act with goodness, I will receive goodness. If I act with eviI, I will get evil.” “What our grandparents told us is the pure truth. You will always have what you desire for others. Being happy is not a matter of destiny. It is a matter of options.” Finally he said: “Take care of your Thoughts because they become Words. Take care of your Words because they will become Actions. Take care of your Actions because they will become Habits. Take care of your Habits because they will form your Character. Take care of your Character because it will form your Destiny, and your Destiny will be your Life … and … “There is no religion higher than the Truth.” * Comments: By applying the above simple lines upon us, irrespective of the religion we may belong, we come to know if we are on the right tracks or not... if yes is the answer, then that religion is correct, and if no is the answer, then we may be called manipulated fanatics or blind faithed. We can be only better spiritual beings, and gain a seat in heaven, if only we are better human beings first. The base of spirituality is morality and mercy.
  13. Frankly speaking, lust as well as all other 4 vices are quite difficult to overcome them. Almost imposible for any human being. The creation is a trap, in the sense that the soul is contolled by the mind and the mind runs after the sensual pleasures, after the shadows, after maya... There are phases in one´s life, when suffers more attacks from lust , specially when one is young...right from childhood, specially boys. I can talk about myself, not that I was mad after it .... but one is inmature, and one likes to watch, talk or read about it ...one goes aftter the opposite sex to find a soulmate,..... but the fact is, each and everyone in one way or other is after lust conscioussly or not. The creator has kept lust in us for a purpose, to use it within control, for bringing up our same species. Not to indulge in it. After many years, it is now, that this vice has subdued to an extent. And I know for sure, that not very far, it will be vanished by His grace. It is a very dirty thing, it pollutes your whole being, making you feel guilty...and then you find yourself helpless about it. All whatever information the brothers have given with their views in the upper posts, are all valid and valuable as much, we have to learn a bit something from all of them. This lust has made big sages and yogis fall down and eat dust ... so who are we ordinary people then? Even a fellow like Ravana, being so learned and mighty, such a yogi, a devotee of Shiva....also was defeated and ruined tottally because of lust..... To elope with somebody´s wife(other woman apart from one´s wife) ...is a big sin... Nature wil smash you.... We have proofs of this fact, even now a days ...so many homes are broken and relations are cut off.... and just because of this bloody vice lust. The thing is, you have to keep an close eye on this lust, and see when it attacks you, then you just go away, or move away from there for that time being...if you have any magazines or videos of these at home, destroy them ... but what I suggest you is, to run away from that palce at that moment when you see that it is going to attack you...take away the video deck from your house ...delete the web pages of porn from your computer ...the thing is to fight with it conscioussly ...like preventing a thief entering your house, beacuse you have seen .... that your house(you) is being theft very frecuently. So what do you do? First you see with attention, how does it enter and when or where from does it enters..... so the next step is to block all the possible entries and block them tightly, so that it may not have any future chance... That is the first step...and then the second step is.... conscioussly do some type of meditation...of jap, so that one may grow in maturity as well as in spirituality, in order to reach a conscious level that you throw out all these robbers(vices), out from your bodies... And according to the pure teachings of Gurmat, if ever there is any weapon to fight these mighy criminals as kam, krodh, lobh, moh, ahankar ....mind..... it is only the Gur Bachan, the Gur parsad of Nam alone, becuase it is a power beyond the three planes: physical, astral, causal... So then, no mind, nor Kal himself, can stop or harm any "ruh", "jeev", or soul, because now that wadbhagee soul has given itself totally, in the Sharan of the Aad Guru, the Gurmukh .... Pray Wahiguru also sincerely to help you... This(Gurmat) is the most secure, safe and sure method, to overcome all types of our miseries, pains and problems. As the bani says: Sarab rog ka aukhad Nam. Deen Dayal, bharose tere.
  14. Dear brother, our Guru Sahibans and Gurmukhs put a lot of emphasize on Nam Simran, it is almost repeated on each ang of the Bani. This Nam Simran, apart from other benefits, it also like dying while living... it is a rehearsal to die while living. The only difference is that, when one dies, one has no options but to leave the body forcefully. But with the practice of Nam Abhyaas, we learn to leave the body voluntarily, so naturally it will be less painful. It somebody is thrown in a river, who does not know swimming, naturally will drown. But if that person knows how to swim, is thrown in the same river, he will reach shore safely. That is why Saint Paul in the Bible also says: I die daily Now, what Saint Paul states, is just a confirmation, that all Gurmukhs of all times, come always with the same message. And that is Nam, Shabad or the "Word" is the same truth for all, and only our association with it, can release us from all bondages, even the one of death. Now when he says I die daily, means he does Nam Abhyaas daily, and with that what he does , is to retrive or withdarw his consciousness from the world, and throughproper technique or jugtee, tries to merge in that Shabd, which is present in each one of us. So in that sense, during that practice, we may appear dead to the world, because for that period of time, we are away from the world, but are very much alive in the higher realms of consciousness. That is why also, the Gurmukhs stress much on Nam Simran, because at the time of death, one may may face difficulties, such as pain or suffering, at that time one is very much afflicted with those bodily troubles ... and thus it is very much difficult to remember Wahiguru at that time...so the purpose of Nam Simran daily and regularly is also, that at that time we may be able to remember Him, as we have been practising that all our lives. The moments of death are crucial for all, if we have left any desires unfulfilled, those will be a big hindrance in our destiny. But if we have done Abhyaas regularly, definetely, Wahiguru with His Grace, shall abide in our minds in those moments, thus our journey towards our true Nij Ghar, shall have no hindrances, because we have been faithful in our practices, in the sikhya given to us by our Guru Sahibans. All the glory, the mahima we can sing in the praising of our Gurus, is nothing compared to their Majesty, it would be like a tiny star in the Sky.... Dear brother you have good past sanskaras, that is what your experiences say... Do a favour to yoursef, if you do abyaas regularly, very good, if not, do not delay even for a second... we never know when is our "ant wela" coming. Because if we miss this human blessed oportunity, we do not know when shall we ever get this body again, in which the Lord has kept the door for our liberation. The Bani tells us: Bahut janam vichurey thay Madao.. yeheh janam tumhare lekhey . This means , we have had lost counless lives, and thus are in the cycle of births and deaths... but this life I am going to dedicate it totally to You, with what You most like and accept as devotion at Your Lotus Feet, and that also, which I have learnt from Your Gurmukhs, and that is the Gurparsd of Nam Simran. Mera Har Prabh Sundar, mhe saar na jaana..
  15. I think it is quite clear by now, what is the difference between a common sikh and a Gurmukh. While we sikhs(disciples, students of spirituality) think a lot and calculate everything, becuase down there in the bottom of our minds and hearts, we are not sufficiently convinced, so we adjust ourselves to our beliefs... On the other side, the Gurmukhs(Masters of spirituality) who have understood the base of ruhaniyat, even before they came to Gur Gadhee, they took the words of the Guru Sahibans as Sat Bachans, and made earth and heaven one, with their total and sincere efforts. And that too without making it complicated at all, but with what they heard and learnt, the same like us, which is : Saas saas simroh Gobind. This means, devotion carried out, not at any particular time, but at all times, with each and every breath. They did not calculate, if what they where doing, was too much or too little, neither did they stop to think, about the opinion of their surroundings with this their bhakti, whether the people will take them as mad, egocentrics or any other adjective given above or by the normal human beings anywhere.. But, even once they achieved their goal while living, they did not stop, but continued with their spiritual practices regularly. Why? Firstly, they did bhakti, or spiritaul practice as abhyaas, to achieve their goal. And secondly, once achieved their goal, with that jugtee, they tasted the Amrit of Nam within themselves, which can not be compared at all, with the fake and temporary pleasures of this world, so they wanted to have that state of bliss at all times, by drinking that Amrit, as much as possible. And that can only be possible, by a lovingly total dedication with heart, mind, and soul, at the Lotus feet of Wahiguru Dear all, the athletes, in order to gain just a simple piece of metal(gold) in Olympic games for example, they train even six to eight hours daily.... And we want the best, Waiguru..... so do we think that we will get Him, just like that? The higher the goal, higher the price... Even 24 hours of devotion as a price even, is nothing compared to what we want, Satnam. Of course, He can only be realized by His grace, not by our petty efforts, so here, in our total dedication lies the secret of our success. As efforts and Grace, go hand by hand, so the greater our efforts, the greater the Grace showered by Him. It is like, something(our efforts) worthy one cent, is paid in thousands of dollars (His Grace)... He is ready to give everything, but we also, we have to make ourselves worthy, to receive His Grace. Even a dog while sitting on the floor, clears it first with its tail, and we pretend Him, to come and sit in our polluted minds, in our dirty stone hardened hearts, just like that? We must be out of sense. We are too inmature, to think otherwise. The option is there for each one of us, kept by our Guru Sahibans. It is now up to us, how wisely we want to make the use of it. Devotion or bhakti, is done for the sole purpose of our union with Akal Purukh. But not to inflate our ego, nor pay attention, as per what will the world say or not say... our relation with Wahiguru, is a personal and an intimate one, with Him. The world does not matter much, because when I/we go, we shall be alone, and at that time, only how much bhakti have we done, shall be in our favour, against our countless karmas since we have come into the creation. So brothers, no too much sikhi can be bad ever.... if of course, sikhi is taken as per the teachings of our Guru Sahibans, and that is as simple as : Ikonkar, Satgur Parsad. There is only one Lord, do and give all your best with the Gurparsad, (khoob uskee kamaee karoh) to realize Him. Sat Sree Akal.
  16. Dear all, No amount of Sikhi can ever be bad at all . First of all, let us clear what is Sikhi in essence. Sikhi means science, means teachings. But what type of teachings? And from whom? And for whom? Only when we get mental satisfaction, can we get real conviction, in the form of love and firm faith, otherwise, sorry to say, it is just a unconsciouss cheating to ourselves. The true teachings of Sikhi, are of the highest order. Because they are only meant for our spiritual uplift. Not politics nor worldly matters. If we had to summarize Sikhi in a few simple words, it would be: Ikonkar, Satgur Parsad. This means, there is only one Lord creator, namely Wahiguru. And He can be realized, through the Gurparsad. That´s it. So simple, isnt´t it?. This in short is Gurmat, or call it Sikhi. It is we humans, that we like to monopolize, manipulate, limit and complicate whatever we touch. The teachings in Sikhi or of the Gurmukhs, are planned by Akal Purukh Himself, and are made known to us, by His Gurmukhs, that also under His command, under His will. And if this simple Sikhi is followed accurately, we stone hearted people, can become, as perfect and as divine as Him. Why? Because, the wisdom and its beauty contained in it, are not ours,(because we are moorakhs by birth, until we die); but of the One, who has created all the Brahms, the Khands, the universes... and everything... so naturally there can be no failures, but just success. Let us have a look to the lives of our Guru Sahibans, we can only perceive humility, mercy and love for all. Have we ever asked ourselves, why it is so? Well, because they were one in mind and soul, through true bhakti of Nam Simran, with that endless fountain of all virtues, who is none other than Sat Purukh. So the thing is, if Sikhi is followed accurately, no side effects or harm can be the output, on the contrary, only purity, happiness, bliss, balance and harmony with the Nature are its fruits. So you see, never ever any much application of Sikhi can be bad. Even if we dedicate 24 hours to Sikhi, it is not bad. Because then the one following Sikhi, is the most fortunate one, as he is drinking the Nectar, the Amrit of Nam flowing inside each one of us, all the 24 hours, 365 days. That Amrit which yogis , munis and gods try to find it, and are lost in their serach, but the wadbhagee gursikh gets it easily by following Sikhi. So Sikhi is not bad as per our Gurmukhs. Bad is only the manipulation and corruption of the Sikhi, because then the results are only evil, though subtle, and not perceivable by us; but in the end, it does us more harm tham anything else, because it draws us farther from our goal, our destination, rather than bringing us closer to Him. Sikhi as said before, are the highest spiritual teachings, from an expert to a student...from a Gurmukh to a Gursikh. The goal of Sikhi is not to bind us here on the earth with rules, regulations and outer tendencies. But to make us worthy to become one with Akal Purukh, through selfless love and devotion of the highest order, in order to get the Beloved Wahiguru alone, not His creation, but the creator Himself. This is the beauty and essence of Sikhi. Wah wah Sachay Badshah, kaun janeh gun Tere...
  17. Wahiguru did everything in the begining for once, in whatever He had to do or create. He made everything and set the creation into motion, with His natural laws. And then everything works under those perfect laws. He does need to revise what is done, or going to happen, like us humans or gods or godesses do usually, even after planning for a long time, because He is Perfect. He does no mistakes. He Himself works under His own laws. He does not change His views, just to favour some, He is impartial, He can not be bribed like us or our politicians or religious leaders. Like for example we do something bad, and then we think, I will go to the temple say some prayers so may times, or do some good actions to please Him and balance the effect of those misdeeds ... this is normal human behaviour, and it is totally wrong. The thing is, in our present state, we are in the grip of the mind, and the mind runs after pleasures constantly, and jumping restlessly like a monkey from one place to another, thus creating karmas. And so, whatever karma is created by us, by our mind, our soul has to pay for it. Our soul is in essence same like Wahiguru, and related to Him, just as drop of water, is to the Ocean. The drop wants to merge in the Ocean and become the Ocean, but it has the coverings of the three bodies and crushed under the weight of unlimited karmas...and unless this is not cleared away, we are not free at all, neither do we have free will, because we are dependendant of our kamas.... we take births to clear some amount, but then we also collect the same or more, so then how can we ever be freed? The answer is, never by ourselves. Wahiguru has created this creation, and only He knows why, or how long does He wants to keep it running. The secret to burn karmas or stay in His Bhaana is His mauj, or His will, can only be possible if we attach ourselves to Him alone, because any other thing we may do is "maanmat". Howsoever good it may appear to us. But in reality is all bondage. Have we ever stopped a moment to think, why our Guru Sahibans have stressed so much on Nam Simran, as the remedy for all our problems, pains and miseries, so repetitively throughout their Bani.... Well, because it is the only devotion, seva, done by the soul. And this type of loving relation with Him, is given by Him to us, to be freed in the true sense. Though it may seem that, the Nam Simran is done with the mind, actually it is the only effective antidote to win the powerful mind, so it is like giving a medicine to the mind, which in the end, is like the mind also tastes this Amrit of Nam, and stops all its misbehavings, because it is so filled with "rus" of Nam, that it losses its grip over the soul, then the soul is free and starts flying towards its destination, Sach Khand. But we should not think, that this done by itself by the soul alone, because as the Bani says: Nanak, Nam, jahaaz hae. Means, the soul is accompanied by that Nam at all moments, and the Nam does everything, even fighting for us with the mind in the different realms, we just sit like babies in the arms of our all powerful Father without any worry....and in the end we reach our destination: Wahiguru. So what is that Nam jahaaz, all about....it is just as simple as, sitting in meditation and doing Nam kamaee, or Nam abhyaas, or Nam Simran, it is the same thing. Every second, every minute we dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to this sacred practice, we start the engine of our car or jahaaz, and proceed towards our destination, which is the same for all. Now it all depends on us, how fast we really want to reach Home and acelerate by doing the "kamaee", or stop the engine of that "abhyaas", and stay aimlessly on the road, and get distracted by its surroundings....(maya) In the end, when we are free from the grip of the mind, and we are naked soul without any coverings of any bodiies or bondages... we are safe in the hands of that Nam or Shabad, who is taking us back Home...so in that way Wahiguru or Shabad does everything for us under His laws, and takes us out from this Maha Bhavsagar. In conclusion, if we give ourselves to Him, we need not to worry at all, because His power and knowledge , is beyond any mind, karmas or Kal, or call it Dharam Rai... they just bow down to Him, when any soul is in the company of that Shabad, because they know that, now they have nothing to do, to control that soul, as it is in the company of the Lord Himself. Keeping present in view, our miserable condition in this mayavee creation, Wahiguru showering His unlimited Daya Meher, revealed us the method of subduing the mind in the most simple way, available to anybody without any restrictions of any type, like gender, mazab, land, caste, colour or creed, as He is the Universal Father of all beings, and that method is none other than Nam Simran. Some may think, why does this "das" stress so much on Nam Simran, and does not mention anything what we usually do as per belonging to a particular community... because this is what I have understood from the Bani of our Guru Sahibans, and this is what I want to share with all the sangat, all the humanity, whether they believe it and accept it, or not... I shall always keep singing His glory, wherever I may be, or however I may be...that also not because I want....but only, if He wants by His mauj. Sat Sree Akal. Mil mere Gobinda, apna Nam deho.
  18. Dear Veer Jee N30 Singh, I can just say, a mature, a brilliant and a very complete answer from all points of views. Congratulations.
  19. The guidance upon meditation in the video above, is quite inspiring and encouraging, for whosoever wants to start to walk on the path ruhaniyat. Because nobody of us are perfect meditators, we are all stuggling souls, are all seekers of that primal Truth. But if we observe carefully, though the method is good for a start, and it definetely takes you to obtain a certain progress. But it can not be compared, to the method given to us in the Bani of Nam Simran. For the seekers the starting may seem similar to an extent, the difference lies in the destinations they take you. While, the method of meditation described above in the video, may take one at most to "swarg", "baikunth" or "heaven" .... the method of our Guru Sahibans, take us to our real Home Sach Khand, into the lap of our Father, Sat Purukh. That is their guarantee, their bakshish, their daya meher... Avoh Sajna, hau dekha Darshan tera Ram....
  20. If any humble opinion is allowed, I would then say, the colour of Guru´s wisdom, is that you are dyed with colour of love, of Ishq, of prem, of pyar..with Him. The person dyed with the grace of Guru´s wisdom, in the form of divine Love, is a mad person in the eyes of the world, but becomes a real lover of Wahiguru. That person wants the Darshan, the deedar of the Beloved, at all times... As the Bani says: TUJH BIN KAVAN HAMARA, MERE PREETAM PRAN AADHARAA... Who else is mine, apart from you my Lord? you are as dear to me, as the breathing IK GHAREE NA MILTE, TA KALYUG HOTAA... Even a little time away from you, is like a hell AKHEEYA, GUR DARSHAN KEE PYASEE... My beloved Guru, my eyes are thirsty for your darshan There comes a stage when the lover wants nothing....but the Beloved Wahiguru, when the lover(sikh) has dyed himself fully in the colour of the Guru´s wisdom. It is only then that we can say, we have been receptive to the Grace showered by the Guru. To dye in the colour of love by His grace, is the purpose of the sikhiya of the Gurmukh. Hum Santan kee rein pyaree ...
  21. Very nice question and topic Sat Veer Jee Actually Wahiguru or Satnam, is Anami, means nameless .... and this has to be so. Why? Because He is Alakh, means formless, and He is also Agam Purukh, means He is beyond reach. There where He is, only He exists. So if only He is one there, without any second, and there is no language to speak, because one needs mouth to say something, or to call someone. With whom do we have to comuniucate? What do we have to say or discuss with Him? But then one may say, that is not totally correct, because we may call Him from our heart, or call on Him mentally... yes this all is possible, as long as the mind exists, which can be within the three planes where the mind operates: Physical, Astral or Causal After that comes ParBraham region....there is no trace of maya or mind. It is not Sach Khand, but it is just 2 steps below, and from there on, as one goes upper, finer and purer are the realms, right up to Sach Khand, the purest realm, where Sat Purukh resides. What I perceive is that, people, not only our sikh brothers, but as well as of other religions also, tend to take that Supreme Being, with their preconcepted ideas and forms...for example sikhs think, when they reach up there, Guru Nanak and the other Gurus, with the Punj Pyares, the Saheeds, and many more good, brave and noble people, are all there to receive us ...like a huge congregation of all the people we think as good ones .. The hindus think, their gods such as Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva, with their wives and sons and grandchildren, along with their ancestors, their sadhus, etc ... etc are going to be met, when reaching there... The same is applied with the followers of the rest of the religions... Due to this agyanta, people have a sense of variety, and thus are lost in brahm, and from there on starts the conflicts between all the people, each one claiming thier superiority and their truth. And because of this variety, there are wars, there is hatred, a lot of unjustice....Instead of being human beings, they are stone hearted beasts ... It is such a pity, our Guru Sahibans while they were on the earth, tried their best to wipe off the mud from our mind and eyes(agyanta), and placed the simple truths in front of us, even left the Guru Granth Sahib for us,claiming that universal Truth as Nam or Shabad, and gave us the method to realize through Nam Simran . We can read any Ang from Guru Jee, and we shall only see these simple truths. Some tuks as examples are as following: Awar Kaaj tere kiteh na kam, mil Sadh Sangat bhaj kewal Nam. Sarab rog ka aukhad Nam Prabh ka Simran, teerath ishnan... And many more can be mentioned. But let us ask ourselves sincerely, how many of us do believe and follow their words. The thing is, though we profess to be devotees, we lack faith in the words of our Gurus, we take them as theory....but their words are priceless, amolak, eternal and true spiritual gems, for all the humanity. We have limited their teachings, into 4 walls of many outer things, rituals, idol worship...etc, thus done a great unjustice to them. Their whole purpose was to take us out from all outer things and concentrate on the only one reality within each and everyone of us, irrespective of caste, creed or class, which is Nam or Shabad. This Nam is nowhere outside, thus it can not be given by anyone either...it is the same inside each one of us, whether one is a sinner, a saint, a robber, a sadhu, a mahatma, male or female, a hindu, a muslim, a sikh or a christian..... Because that Nam or Shabad is a power, a highest state of Consciousness, which implies that it is also omnipresnt and omnipotent. And this Nam is not like the genius of Aladinos lamp, that we rub it when we want something and start asking for our desires to be fulfilled, like taking away sorrows, wanting miracles, wealth, power, status, properties, sons, lands....and a huge endless list. This Nam or Shabad as such, existed even before we were not born, and shall stay even when we shall not be here... this Nam or Shabad as being a Consciouss power of the highest order, works in its own ways, and not per our thinking, or our petty logic... The purpose of all Gurmukhs, is not to make us understand the mysteries of the creation, not because they do not know, or are not capable of it, but because we are very limited. For that, they say, go inside youself, and see everything it by yourself. All your doubts shall be dissolved. And there is total logic in their words, because when we reach His stage, we shall become Him.... so then who is left to ask? and who is there to answer? Naturally nobody, except Him. Such is His mahanta, His greatness, His wadeeayee...Oooch Apaar, Beant Soami. The Bani clearly says: Jin Har jaapiya, se Har hoeeya Sar Sree Akal.
  22. What a fantastic and a true picture of the cruel reality of the people suffering in silence...due to the stone hearted people around.... Such a pity... Is this civilization? Where have humanity and common sense gone? Bastard discrimination.... Dirty politics....
  23. I have found a fantastic video upon inner reality and it is a guide also for a better meditation, which I would like to share it, with the sangat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhbOM6XhLHI Enjoy yourselves. Thanks.
  24. The method to Love Wahiguru Amrit ras pee-aa, gur Sabdee, ham Naam vitahu kurbaan Parbhaatee Mehlaa 4 Bibhaas In this fourth Patshahee´s Shabad, Guru Sahiban is giving us some simple and clear directions, to overcome our agyanta, clean the vessels of our minds, so that, that Kul Malik, Paree Pooran Parmatma, comes and abides in our hearts. Well, the fact is, He is already everywhere, but by following Gurmat, He discloses Himself by His grace, to whomsoever is ready to love Him according to Gurmat. Because almost everybody loves Him, but to love Him according to Gurmat is a different thing. This is what makes the difference. Some may ask, what is all this difference about. Well, Gurmat teaches us to love Wahiguru, for the only sake of Wahiguru alone, without any conditions. And to love Him in that way, though it is simple, we people make it as good as impossible. Why? Because, we have adjusted Gurmat to our weaknesses, limiting the Bani, between the walls of rituals, dogmas, outer rules, regulations, symbolisms and slogans, idol worship, lands, mazabs... So, the method to love Wahiguru according to Gurmat, is to love Him, without the intervention of the mind. Beacuse the mind is our real enemy, and it is this mind whom we have to conquer, and for defeating it, we have to be soldiers, means we have to be alert like soldiers, that this powerfull and invisble may not distract and attack us, by throwing upon us, it´s weapons of : kaam, krodh, lobh, moh and ahankar. Each one of us in our lives, has to fight this enemy in order to merge in Wahiguru. This mind has to be fought by each one of us, nobody can come and fight it for us, this is a personal battle to be fought, independently of being a male or female, eastern or western, northern or southern, or even if we are residents of Baikunth, or of the status of Brahma, Vishnu, or Shiva, because even there, mind is as active as on the physical or astral planes, nobody is free from it´s negative influence. But to learn to really love Wahiguru and to lessen the mind effects, we have to the come under the shade of such a tree, which can protect us from the Sun and it´s heat, and that is Sadh kee sangat. Guru Ram Das, in this today´s Shabad and in the lines below, is telling us how to meet Wahiguru Kit biDh ki-o paa-ee-ai parabh apunaa, How am I to find my God? mo ka-o karahu updays Har daan. Please bless me with the Gift of the Updesh, the bhed, the jugtee Gift of the Lord´s wealth. And what is this Lord´s wealth, by which we become rich spiritually? It is His Naam. Then in the following line, He is telling us where to get it from. Sadh Sangat meh, Har Har vasi-aa, The Lord, Har, Har, resides in the company of the Saints; we can clearly see, the Bani says, Wahiguru does not reside in lifeless things made of stone or metal, but resides in a Gurmukh, a Sant Jan. These words of the Gurbani are eternal and unperishable, not for a particular period of time of some hundred years, or place. The method of meeting Wahiguru is only one, unchangeable throughout all ages: Satyug, Tretayug, Dwapuryug and Kaliyug. mil sangat, har gun jaan. joining this Sangat, the Lord's Glories are known. Here He is telling us, that by coming in the company of the holy, we come to know the majesty of Akal Purukh, and we start singing His glories, in a unique manner, the method of Nam Simram, that is why the Bani says: Prabh ka Simran, Har gun Bani. Vadai bhaag, Sadhsangat paa-ee, Gur Satgur, paras bhagvaan. By great good fortune, the Society of the Saints is found. Through the Guru, the True Guru, I receive the Touch of the Lord God. My God, what beautifull words of our Fourth Patshahee! We have heard and read that Wahiguru´s true form is His Shabad swaroop. So when we are steadfast on Nam Simran, another wonderful thing happens to us. Just as Satguru Sachay Badshah Guru Amar Das says: Nam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. This means, once Nam is perfected in it´s practice and is established in the depths of our mind and hearts, we start listening the unstruck divine melodies of Shabad...this is the touch of Akal Purukh to our souls, this is the Amrit which flows 24 hours inside our selves, and that by drinking it, we become real Gursikhs. Only then, we are heading to our true desh, true land, which is Sach Khand, the land, of our True Father, Satnam. This is what we should all look for, and fight with our minds, with all our powers and strengths, then only are we real saints and soldiers. We are soldiers, by fighting and defeating the real enemy of our mind, and we have become saints by merging our cosciouness and souls in Akal Purukh. It is nothing but our love alone for Wahiguru, which attracts us towards Wahiguru. So we first have to understand and learn to love properly(true love, selfless love, unselfish love.... no lust, no desire to possess, but to loose oneself, to become Him), and that is , to love Him alone, for the sake of love. Because if we wanto merge in Him and become one with Him, we first have to become like what He in reality is.... If He is an infinite Ocean of Love... we have to become a wave of that Love....so that it can merge in it, in the most natural way. As there is a famous saying:Sahib ke darbar mein, kewal bhakti aur pyar. Aur kewal bhakti aur pyar mein, Sahib raazee. According to Gurmat, the key to this miracle, is Nam Simran. Yes, we can say, that to become One with Him, is a rare miracle... a wonder of wonders... a unique realization in one´s life, for once and ever. From mortal beings, we become Divine. A real blessing of Grace, above all. Wah wah Sachay Badshah. Mil mere Gobinda, apna Nam deho.
  25. To answer this question, let us see who or what was Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj. The thing is, we humans try to judge everything from our limited vision and understanding. To know if Guru Nanak was God, let us see first what is God. God is a highest level of superconcious energy. And this energy, is like like the waves of radio or televisión, this energy is spread everywhere, and still we can not see it or feel it. But in order to listen the news or music, or see the images contained in that broadcasting, we need an adecuate device and connected to an input current switch(or batteries), so to say, enjoy from what we hear or see then. So, the batteries or connection with and input current switch is being alive, and then, the system which transforms those energy waves into sound and images is, called Nam Simran. Wahiguru is present everywhere, but still we can not take advantage from its presence, and continue to be unhappy. This is what Gurmukhs are, they have their connection with the current switch, and are always tuned themselves in the frecuency of those waves. This is what when the Bani says: Prabh Jee baseh Sadk ke rasna...Prabh Jee baseh, sadh ke hirdey. They are the receivers of Akal Purukh, so whatever they say or do, is nothing but, the news being broadcasted from the station of Sach Khand, by the director of that channel, which as said befor, is no other than Satnam. We ignorants with our childish behaviour, we think that the radio by itself or the television set, are the real thing....but the reality is that the Gurmukhs are not the body, they are just "receivers" of that finest Celestial Music called Shabad or Nam. Let us keep one thing in mind, when we say Gurmukhs are one with God and are God, in the spiritual sense...that does not mean, they start displaying supernatural powers for our comfort, or to please and impress us. No, no no...that is not their purpose, maybe the incarnations of gods come time after time, to establish righteousness...and make this world a better palce; so to say, that the cycle of births and deaths go on continuing... But the role of Gurmukhs is not as such...they come to remind us, that the cause of your continous suffering in the cycle of eighty four, is because you have forgotten your true Father Satnam, your true Home, Sach Khand, and thus you are wandering aimlessly in this mayavee, transient and perishable creation. Out of their utter humility, though they are Satpurkh themselves, they tell us, that your true Father has sent me to create the sense of discrimination in you, so that you may love Him only, so that you may once again regain your original consciousness, that you are not only a human being, but you are a spiritual being, going through human experiences. You are also entangled and entrapped in the net of bodies, karmas and mind all that implies...like jaat paat religion land and so on. Your Father(Satnam) has sent me also, to give you a weapon, to fight with all these enemies and kill them, to free yourself totally, in order to return back Home( sach Khand) with Me(Gurmukh). And this weapon is none other than Nam or Shabd, got as Gurparasd. In this Gurparasd, Wahiguru Himself has hidden Himself. That is why the Bani says: Har Simran meh, Prabh aap Nirankara. That almighty Akal Purukh, is contained in His Simran, and makes Himself manifested, through His Simran. This is quite understandable and agreeable, if the power of Wahiguru was not in His Simran....how could we ever vanquish and defeat mighty enemies as mind... as kal ...as the net of karmas ...the 5 vices: kam krodh lobh moh ahankar.... which would be impossible otherwise. Everything is clear in the Bani, it is we who look outside. Precise directions are there in the Bani, for us, for our benefit only. But we as moorakhs, and mugadhs, look in the oppsite direction. The Bani says do only one thing(Mil Sadh sangat, bhaj kewal Nam; awar kaaj tere kiteh na kam)...and we weak humans do not do that, but do many other things...and waste our lives after stones, when the diamods are right there within us. Aisee kirpa moheh karo, Sant Charan, hamaro maatha.
