Dealing with somebody difficult lately, I prayed for Sarbat Da Bhala instead of being upset and it seemed much more effective than praying on the smaller self and surrounding scale.
Most the time I have difficulty praying for anything but the acceptance of Hukam and a humble spot amongst the Salves.

Realistically speaking. With a large group of people, it's setting strong cultural precedents and norms in the society. Guru ji actually achieved this, and it lasted for a few generations as evidenced by certain Persian accounts about how Singhs left women alone.
We will never be a perfect society and like all people will have to deal with pedos, degenerates, selfish, destructive sociopaths etc.
Our own society has been firstly subtly (like when I was younger) and now outright explicitly promoting Panjabiism (especially certain casteists thinking) via multiple media including books, songs and increasingly movies. If we had a generation or two growing up with out this - we might see ourselves transform into a whole other society.
I'm Panjabi. I think Panjabi culture generally sucks. Sikh culture is infinitely superior. But we've had Waheguru knows how many people infilitrate our panth, who've never even believed in Sikhi over their previous culture, who've been playing havoc by promoting their horseshyte culture amongst us all.

I think this type of thinking just indirectly justifies everything.

Don't know what you would suggest to counter this ? Obviously it is all anti-Gurmat. But in some form or other, all cultures have degenerate features, even if Western culture has a high level of being anti-discrimination, gender equality etc on the face of it, they have their own issues such as making women sexual objects and normalising sexual deviancy and being just as much material as Panjabis
The only thing I can clearly say is that if we all who call ourselves/identify as Sikh, were to become Khalsa and live by the advice of Dasam Patshah, then there really should be no reason to practice those negative things. Until we are all Khalsa, then we are still liable to falling back into Panjabi cultural practices and norms.

    Thanks for posting this.
I think we've all heard of this sakhi. It's just the first time that I've come across it with explicit reference to a certain caste 'pride'. It would be great to find the original Gurmukhi texts of this and scrutinise it. If it does explicitly mention jut pride, and most later retellings exclude this - it's just yet another example of a certain people hiding the truth to create some sort of false image of their community in relation to early Sikhi.    Something fudhoos are still doing to this day, more than 300 years later!
Would be nice to find explicit page or section numbers to try and chase them up?

It probably would be a jut sachkhand given the narakh they've created in Panjab?

Biblo gets that one by mistake by screaming "Give me some time!" To Gollum, the answer being time. Since you both asked for some time and guessed Kaal you get triple points.

Interesting. Hard to say any of the european models really surpassed native american living until we finally had natural gas, electricity, and running water.
Just can't get over how wood and coal dependent those leaky wood houses consumed.

    @Premi
JAN MOIR: The Raith Rovers rape scandal could only happen in the oh-so toxic world of football

At Wimbledon last year, a male tennis player with three convictions for assaulting other men and a civil case against him for rape (in which his female victim was paid £100,000 compensation) played in the tournament.
Known to all as ‘the Rapist Tennis Player’, his sins are no secret but nobody cares because he is entertaining. The crowds all cheered when he won matches.
Asked to comment, a spokesman for the All England Club said: ‘What’s the problem? He is a terrific player. We don’t see an issue here.’
Hold it right there. You are correct. There is no Rapist Tennis Player and none of the above happened. And it is hard to imagine it could in the world of professional tennis, or indeed in cricket, rugby or athletics.
Would a man with assault and rape charges against him really just carry on with his career, without even a whisper of official dissent? No. It could only happen in the toxic world of football.
In Scotland, there has been uproar at Raith Rovers FC because the Kirkcaldy-based team signed a striker called — in a blow to nominative determinism — David Goodwillie.
