  1. Gyani Gyan Singhs own words which are held in Ripudiman Parkash ‘Then they [bhai Vir Singh et al] had a pledge made to me. Whatever they desired they wrote down, I signed it. For my upkeep, they promised 12 Rupees a month. They also wrote down a special ‘Gurmata’ (Guru’s pledge): “Whatever Giani Ji writes, we will publish it”. These pledges they made, they kept none. Great injustice, great atrocity they did to me. Nor did they give back my scripts, nor themselves published them. 17 years has passed since I wrote and gave them. They kept them and kept putting me off. May the Guru himself, bless such Sikhs with right thinking. May they not do to others, as they have deceived me. The hard work of this old man done in 30 years. These unappreciative, unthankful have kept wasting. The service, which I had done for the Panth forsake of its good, [they have ruined] as hail destroys a ripened crop field. The benefit that the Khalsa would have had from my works, the society did not let it be - the Panth remained without benefit. From my ocean-like (immense) work, the society published tracts. Money and fame they gained [from the works] these [so-called Tat Khalsa] leaders of the Panth.’ ‘Ripudaman Prakash’, edited by Giani Kirpal Singh, Pa. 9-10 ‘Their name is ‘Singh’ but they are thieves at heart. They deceive, feigning sweet intentions. Taking up the banner of Panth’s service. They steal from your pockets. They exclaim aloud of doing ‘Panthik Seva’. This way, deceiving the people they eat. Then, I explained to my mind - Oh mind you have been greatly deceived by them...Then I became greatly disheartened, I stopped singing glory of the Panth. I indulged myself in but ‘Sas Abhias’ (meditation on God). My mind I fixed on God.’ ‘Ripudaman Prakash’, edited by Giani Kirpal Singh, Pa.6-13
  2. People should endevour to go through these texts and then make their own minds up, rather then read propoganda over the net and take someone elses word as gospel
  3. Why indulge in oreos and chocolate if your worried about keeping dietry bibek. Stick to daal sabzi and roti, simple foods and you wont have an issue with having to read E numbers. Ive known of some "bibekis" get a packet of Quavers and then empty them into a sarbloh batta before eating them lol.
  4. It is sad to see anyone lose their life in such violence, let alone a fellow Sikh. My condolences are with his family who are not close to even mourn his death properly. I know im going to get gunned down for this, but was it really worth it? The lady had her handbag stolen by petty theives, who were most likely druggies wanting the money for their next fix. Credit cards, mobile phone, money, all replaceable, a human life isnt. If the two people hurt the lady, or attempted to rape her, or kidnap her child, intervention would be a neccessity. Can you imagine how the lady whos bag got robbed feels, someone tried to help her and then ends up dead. I feel sorry for his family and the lady involved and hope the police can catch these people who commited this crime.
  5. Would it be best to pay for the books there, and get them shipped over? Im looking to get a book version of Mahankosh and some steeks so it will get too heavy for suitcases. Also which is the best book shop in Amritsar to get most of the books from?
  6. In orders to give the full respect to the scriptures, we should be writing the names like SRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI and SRI DASAM GRANTH SAHIB JI, to ensure no beadbi is ever done.
  7. There is a line between the blind idol worship of a Shastar, and true Shastar Pooja. Just waving a thoof over your weapons, and bowing to them is not Shastar Pooja, it is all fruitless unless you actually train with them. For example, even Guns are respected and worthy of Pooja, however if you spent your days just cleaning, waving thoof and bowing to a gun, when the time of battle comes you wont be very successful as youve never learnt how to load the brood inside it, push the bullet through and then pack it again, setting the flint or burning the igniter, above that you wont have a nishana which is the key to shooting, you wont have gained appreciation for the timings needed to set the brood alight before the bullet is shot. In the same way, with a tulwar you wont know how to draw it correctly, how each vaar is done, the best way to cut, the flows of cutting, timing, distancing, avoiding strikes, penthra, how other vaars are stopped and countered, strategies, formation fighting etc. Shastar Pooja has a practical reason, if your weapons arent clean they can get stuck within the miyan when drawing and prevent rusting, applying oil makes them come out of the miyan quicker and more silently, the oil stops blood and dirt settling on the blade, sharpening obviously gives you a cleaner cut. It is said that the bhavna of each warrior resides within their sword, the more you train with one sword the more you become one with it. The reverence of Thoof, salutations and placing on thakhts and pedestals is for the showering of respect and honour over the weapon. These actions were seen as respect to the weapon which will ultimately do your rakheya on the battlefield. The videos on the Shastarvidiya site regardining Shastarpooja are not just salutations, on a practical level it is a martial regime in order to build fitness, stamina, muscle strength and the agility required for swordsmanship.
  8. Alongside the sharpening, cleaning, polishing, namaskar and salutations to the sword, the key part of real shastar pooja is actual training, and learning how to properly weild a weapon, combined with meditation upon yudh vidiya techniques, mantar jaap and yudh bani.
  9. The footnote in Gopal Singhs "History of the Sikhs" doesnt give a refference, it says: "It is really strange that though the later historians )Sikh as well as non-Sikh) and the authors of the Rehitnamas, write, in detail about the Gurus commandments to the Sikhs, he himself nowhere does so, even though he had a long spell of peaceful time twice after the birth of the Khalsa, to incorporate his commandments in one of his compositions. The only verse he has left to posterity enunciating the Code of Conduct for the Khalsa proclaims "He who meditates on the Supreme Light night and day, and believes in not in another, has perfect love in the heart and puts not his faith in fasting, tombs, graveyards and convents, and for whom the pilgraimages consist in being compassionate, charitable, chaste and self disciplined and who recognises in all no one but the One alone and whose heart is illuminated with the Divine Light is a Khalsa, purest of the pure" (Guru Gobind Singh, 33 Swaiye). In fact, the Guru never forced his new discipline on all Sikhs, even though some of the most devout being allowed not to be baptised, like Bhai Nan Lal and Bhai Kanihyia. Thus a distinction was permitted to remain between a Sikh and a baptised Singh, and this is how till lately a large body of the Sikhs called Sahijdharis, though outwardly not confrming to the symbols of the Khalsa, yet accepted the spiritual and social code of the Gurus and remained an inalienable and worthwhile part of the Panth. The word Khalsa it may be pointed out has been used by Kabir (Kaho Kabir Ham Bhae Khalsa, Rag Sorath), as also by the earlier Gurus, notably the 6th and 9th, in their Hukamnamas to denote the Sikhs who were the special charge of the Guru as against Sahlangs whose spiritual instruction was in the hands of the Gurus deputies. Guru Gobind singh himself employed the word Khalsa in his Hukamnamas even after 1699, for the entire Sikh Sangat, not only for the initiates or Singhs"
  10. I will post a picture of my garden with the tindas, the gobis, the saag, and the aloos if you not believing me

  13. You know how Radhaswamis whisper a secret mantar into the ears, whisper in the same way into your falcon, horses and dogs ears, if that does not work call 0800-AJMERI-BABA for mahaan chamatkar. Ajmeri will whisper the mantar into their ears over the phone, just put the headset to their ears (dont put on loudspeaker).
  14. Waitrose and Whaitrose do not stock the Kinoow, but the shop Weightrows does, aisle 22 next to the Strawberry Yazoo.
  15. As long as you have the tinti windows, no one will say anything to you.
  16. Lets not also forget those scheming Brahmins "I would have got away with it if it wasnt for those pesky kids!"
  17. Wasnt Panth Parkash written by Bhai Rattan Singh for the British in order to provide an accurate account of the Sikhs. So are we suggesting Bhangoo wrote it and then the British edited it themselves? Why not write it themselves in the first place
  18. Gogi do you knowing the method for the goha collecting and the pathi making?
