  1. This whole game makes you laugh sometimes. I have found recently that some if the thoughts I get are pretty wild. Some have nothing to do with me and dont affect me directly but I still follow that thought and get myself into a state. Instead of focussing on the shabad and just listening to that, I follow the thought and get so tangled up in it wasting precious swaas. After a day or two I realise that thought process was pointless but then a few days later I’ll do the exact same thing again!
  2. Simran is going quite well. Problem i am having at the moment is thinking too much about stuff that has happened in the past. The thoughts just automatically creep into my mind, like kaal knows this is what will piss me off so lets five him that thought. I listen a lot to Simranjit Singh Tohana and Bhai Ajit Singh at GMGG Slough. They say you just need to focus on listening to the anhad shabad and divert away from your thoughts. Sometimes i just find it really really hard though and get myself into a bit of a state. Just need to keep doing ardas to Waheguru to help me I guess
  3. I have always believed our history gives us the answers to all our questions. If sants/sadhus were to solve all issues with their powers, it would go against everything our gurus taught us. Guru Gobind Singh ji did not save his own sons because he said what was happening was the hukam of akal purakh. We read stories of the Ramayan and Mahabharat where warriors were able to vanquish thousands of others in a matter of minutes with their powers. Guru Gobind Singh came here as satguru, if he wanted he could have destroyed the moghuls and anyone else within a blink of an eye by himself. Now to know what the hukam is, gurbani emphasises merging with the shabad so you can find out yourself how to live within his hukam. I also agree that we need to look at ourselves first and see what are we doing for the panth before pointing fingers at others. Maharaj has gives us everything, why cant we train, learn martial arts and do what puratan Sikhs did? We hear stories of Baba Deep Singh carrying his head on one hand and fighting with the other at 75 year old. Ever thought how he was able to do this? We are able to do these things ourselves if we had the same love for Sikhi. Ive always had respect for Sant Jarnail Singh and what he did but when I hear people saying he needs to come back for the kaum, I think to myself, but what is wrong with us? Why cant we carry the fight and do something ourselves instead of pointing fingers at others or wishing other Singhs could come back from the dead?
  4. All I know is Waheguru is not unfair. The Gurbani says countless times that those who do not meditate on him and do not reach the shabad, they will be plundered by the messenger of death. If everything is written and we have no control then why would some of us be punished for not reaching the shabad when it’s not our fault? That would make Waheguru unfair. Gurbani says ‘ape pati kalam aap, upar lekh vi tu’ You need to write your own destiny.
  5. Anyone have the wattsapp group link for bhai Rupinder Singh Hans group?
  6. His channel is Sach Naad. All the clips are on there. Also maybe worth joining his telegram group, some of the katha is pure gold. Over the last few weeks he has spoken heavily about amrit ras and the different vidhis to extract it
  7. Panjiri i kind of get why it can be good but karah? Its just flour butter and sugar! Is there any real benefit to it?
  8. We often hear how in the old days in India, people would eat badaam, drink hot milk with ghee and other desi foods that were/are food for strength. So for those of you who know about this sort of stuff, what other foods would you say are good for anyone strength/weight training?
  9. So they have the usual which you would expect all gurdwaras to have, punjabi and music classes. Difference is they link everything to the mind. They go to great lengths to explain the journey of the mind according to SGGS. They also have gatka, netball, football classes. These are usually friday evenings when you would normally see the youth out on the streets up to no good. Free bricklaying, plastering, carpentry courses for anyone who wants to join. All city and guilds approved. Also media studies courses. This is in the Refresh centre within the gurdwara. Sikh art and exhibition gallery within the gurdwara in collaboration with Kanwar Singhs paintings. Again, they have explained all the paintings from the view of the mind. Rekindle. A service which is open to all those families that are experiencing issues regarding grooming of their children. The gurdwara has invested heavily in courses and work closely with the police and council so that everything is done properly. They have worked with countless families in bringing young kids mainly girls back to their families who may have gone off with muslim boys. They have just opened a new school which is for girls where they will teach them about Sikhi. Both history and the real message of Gurbani from age 4. So when they are at an older age, they are less likely to go off the rails. They have 2 camps each year, summer and Christmas time for 4-5 days. Separate camps for children split by age where again they teach about the Shabad and how important it is to get there. A massive emphasis on history and what our shaheed Singhs, Gurus have done for us. They have a theatre within the gurdwara where some sevadars will act out plays at certain times of the year eg Vaisakhi, gurpurbs where they will pick a story and act it out but again link it to the mind. I dont know where you’re from brother but last year they had the journey of the mind exhibition at Birmingham library for a week which attracted people from all faiths where again the focus was about the mind. Next stop I believe is London but I dont know the dates yet. There are many other projects being worked on but I cant currently say due to early stages. Sangat come from all over the world to stay and do bhagti. Some for 6 months, some for a year, some more and some less. You get a room to stay, (shared) clothes are washed and ironed for you, clean shower facilities, only condition is you stay and do simran. No idle gossip. The thing is, everything is done by sevadars and no one is paid. Bhai Saab does akath katha every sunday and focusses purely on the message of Gurbani. Why are we here and where do we have to get to and how do we get there. No hidden agendas, no committee, no special treatment. You do the practical and watch your life change.
  10. Guru Maneyo Granth Gurdwara in slough probably do the most of any gurdwara I have been to throughout my life. You name it, they probably do it and more.
  11. My answers above next to your questions. Anyone feel free to correct anything I have said
  12. DefInitely would be good and an early sign that the new govt means what it says when it talks about cleaning up corruption/injustice. i dont know how the whole political scene out there works, whether its uptoo Punjab govt to release him or upto Delhi. If its controlled by Punjab then its a good early opportunity for the govt to make a good impression.
  13. Is there potentially more chance of him being released now with the new Punjab govt?
  14. Listening to Bhai Simranjit Singh Tohana on the live classes. He says when doing simran jn the morning not to go into sunn. Listen to the shabad, if/when you feel like you maybe entering sunn then start antargat simran and that will help. Afternoon/evening time he says its fine to listen to the shabad and go into sunn. Same as what Bhai Amrik Singh Shadihari says on his telegram group
  15. The links have been posted already but I would encourage everyone to join Bhai Simranjit Singh Tohanas telegram group. 2 live sessions a day, 14:30pm and 12:30 midnight. The katha is then recorded and uploaded to the group but the jugtian bhai saab explains and goes through with the sangat are not always uploaded so if you can, you really need to join the voice chat live especially the early morning one. I would also join bhai Amril Singh Shahdihari groups on telegram. Again, plenty of live akath katha and q&a sessions. Anhad shabads, sehaj dhun, amrit ras and other stages are all explained in detail. Wjkk Wjkf
  16. Yea that was Inzamam Ul Haq. Great batsman, not so great fielder. I think there is a clip on youtube where he goes into the crowd with his bat to hit a fan as he kept calling him a potato!
  17. Yes massive fan here too. Always been an India fan and massive Tendulkar fan back in the day. Mid 90’s there was no other sight like watching him bat and the crowd going berserk!
  18. Im with Bhai Simranjit all the way although I have not listened to the other clip yet. The thing with chautha padh is that nothing is physical so seeing faces of the gurus whilst doing abhiyas isnt necessarily a good thing and from what bhai Seva Singh used to say, its just kaal playing tricks on you. Same as if you see different coloured lights. I will listen to the other clip too.
  19. Bhai Ajit Singh ji stayed in Moga for quite some time with Bhai Seva Singh ji and learnt the practical from him. The aggressive simran is just baikhri bani. Loud fast simran to wake the mind and get it to listen to our own voice as it has been asleep for the 4 ages.
  20. We will have to agree to disagree. Waheguru is the same for all. Gurbani says he calls all of us regardless of caste colour, amritdhari or not. Putting restrictions on who can or cant chant his name is totally against SGGS ji teachings and no video will convince me otherwise but feel free to carry on telling people who can and cant chant his name. sometimes these things can be made far more complicated than they need to be, your post is an example of this.
  21. Not true. Anyone can chant gods name, amritdhari or non amritdhari. There are no restrictions. Were bhagat Kabir and bhagat Farid amritdhari? And Waheguru is the only one that can give you naam. not sure of the ang off hand but SGGS ji says. Bin naame mukt na pavai koi, bin satgur ko naam na pavai. There is no liberation without naam and no naam without waheguru.
  22. Paji, could you please explain the difference between anhad shabad and anhad naad?
  23. Wjkk wjkf I just wanted to hear experiences of those who have had or have amrit ras. When did you first get it, at what stage etc. With Wahegurus grace, I have been hearing anhad shabad for the last 8 months or so but I have never experienced amrit. I have heard gurmukhs talk about it and have heard katha. Different people say it happens at various stages but I would love to hear peoples experiences. Wjkk Wjkf
  24. Thank you paji for the response. What you have said all makes sense however I do have 1 question still. Regarding the point about those with perfect destiny will unite with Waheguru. I dont and cant doubt Waheguru but maybe my small mind isnt understanding this correctly. As in my example. The particular person has only now paid attention to what the gurmukh has been saying and has started doing sangat and abhiyas. So if we say he has the perfect destiny but only the gurmukh can see it hence the reason he has put so much time and effort in trying to convince this person to attend sangat. on the other hand, you have the other person who may not have perfect destiny therefore not destined to meet Waheguru yet he tries his hardest to live life the correct way, does his abhiyas, does sangat, follows anything that a gurmukh may say straightaway and has a yearning to meet Waheguru but just because of past kamai and not having the perfect destiny he is not meant to meet Waheguru? Is this fair? Someone that has no appreciation gets everything but the one that tries day and night doesnt even get a look in because hes not meant to? Again maybe i have completely misunderstood, maybe because i have been more and more disheartened the last few weeks so im thinking more negative. However i have heard this concept of perfect destiny before and i admit i do not fully understand. bhul chuk maaf. Wjkk Wjkf
