Thanks bhen ji for mentioning dass on the thread. Although I have never counted the Waheguru Simran jaaps it would be a great experience for me to try and contribute on here. 
 
Dass hear in Katha that in Akal Ustat Bani that the word Tuhi Tuhi is written 16 times and whoever reads the full paath of the Bani will get benefit laha of 16 thousand jaap of Waheguru Jaap.
 
If anyone would like I could add Sri Akal Ustat in this thread as Dass read the entire paath on Monday in 2 hours using audio tracks this week.

Even I struggle a lot with lust and man ki mail and I would like too share some bachans of Baba Nand Singh ji which have really helped me in this fight against such a formidable enemy:
1. Always do ardaas to guru sahib that "Baba ji saada imtihaan na lao asi sada fail haa" translating to Guru jee please don't take my test, I will always fail. Do rehem on me.
2. Once Baba ji was disturbed in his meditation by kaljug who told him that why are you not letting me do my work, this is my yug, I have to put people in maya's grasp and you are propagating naam jaap and amrit chhakna and pushing people away from maya and making me powerless thus in the process, then he said that I would have already put a stop to you if you didn't have the pehra of sukhmani sahib. Then baba ji smiled and thanked him that you yourself informed me of what you are scared of and that's why in nanaksar, sukhmani sahib path is done 24/7.
Therefore, always have pehra of sukhmani sahib, it is the pragat bani saroop of satnaam. If not able to do full path, atleast do some astpadis in a day because sukhmani sahib is very beneficial and kaljug is scared of the powerful bani.
3. " kaljug pehla nitnem chudanda hai, je tuhada nitnem pakka hai kaljug tuhada kuch nhi vigad sakda" translating kaljug first makes you leave nitnem, if you are steadfast in your nitnem kaljug cannot do anything to you. Therefore to protect yourself from the powerful grasp of kaljug and 5 vikaars, we shoulf never leave shelter of nitnem which protects us in ways we cannot even imagine.

"Guru granth jee maaneyo pragat gura ki deh"
Guru granth sahib jee, as per hukam of dasve patshah should be regarded as the pragat saroop of the ten gurus. Thus parshaada bhog, kamarkasa karna, prakash is done in v shape saroop which is how one sits cross-legged. Therefore, as per maryada, since dasve patshaah used to adorn shastars and was shastardhaari, there should;d atleast be one shastar with saroop and if there is only one shastar, it has to be a kirpaan. This is the answer I got when I asked some behengems at nanaksar the question.

Nihung Singhs believe Akaal Purakh, Gurbani and Shastars as their Divine-Beloveds. These are the three "Isht Dev" for Nihung Singhs. 
So if you bow before Akal, in the pressence of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, and Shastar Dev, you are bowing to all three Isht Dev. 

Shastar and Guru Granth Sahib Ji are also both bowed to as symbols of Akal as well. Shastar Dev. 
And we may only bow to God and Guru.

Shastar belongs to Miri (social aspects) aspects of Sikhi.
Piri means the spiritual aspects, the reason behind the origin of Sikhi (to realign people with correct spiritual path), Miri comes later, which aims to build a society where piri can fluorish and the knowledge can be transferred from generations to generations without any interference/oppression from rulers or powerful persons or groups.
Piri is supreme and Miri is supporting piri. 
So when the shastars (weapons) are kept in front of the Guru Granth Sahib, it symbolises submitting/surrendering ourselves, our powers and our insecurities to Piri when it comes to spiritual aspects. We sit in sangat without having to bother what is happening elsewhere.
Shastars are not kept as a means of readiness to fight, because there are no insecurities in sangat, the security of sangat is taken care by fellow Sikhs  who stay outside on duty and carry shastars with them.

If they do that on a regular basis, that makes full sense.
Jhatka Maryada and Sukha Maryada are specific to the Nihang Sikh order.
Also, we must not apply very high standards to Sehajdhari/non-Amritdhari Sikhs, when it comes to Jhatka meat and Sukha.
