  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Anyone read "A Guide To Spiritual Consciousness" by Sant Niranjan Singh Ji? What did you think?
  2. Isn't he the only person Gurbani calls a 'moorakh' by name? However, that just goes to show that knowledge and wealth aren't everything.
  3. Thanks for posting that N30. Where is it from - is it online? If not, can you put it on?
  4. Not bad, but you got the spelling for 'Saturday' wrong! What did you use to make it?
  5. Do you actually read preceding posts that refute your theories and choose to ignore them , or are you so confused that you fail to see them in the first place?
  6. Harjas, you write that translations may have been tampered with. In that case why not read the original text, which is fairly easy to understand: O fool! Fall at the feet of Lord-God, the Lord is not within the stone-idols.99" ; Page 137, Line 8, I do not worship stones, nor I have any liking for a particular guise.; Page 1290, Line 5, Why do you not pray to Him, who will be there in future and who is there in the present? You are worshipping the stones uselessly; what will you gain by that worship?; Page 1354, Line 11 You may even perform the austerities for an age, but these stones will not fulfil your wishes and please you; they will not raise their hands and grant you the boon; Page 1355, Line 6 You had been wandering with bowed head in the temples of stones, hut you realized nothing; O foolish mind ! you were only entangled in your bad intellect abandoning that Effulgent Lord.26. Page 2261, Line 11 The fool considers Him a stone, but the great fool does not know any secret; Finally: I vanquished the vicious hill chiefs, they were idol-worshippers and I am idol-breaker.95. many, many more similar teachings are given. Which Nirmala Sikh Sants have you spoken to?
  7. This is from 2004. Have you heard about the e-mails leaked in the UK that revealed how wrong some climate-change allegations are? Climate change is part of the earth's character. We've has ice ages, very hot periods etc. I doubt man can do anything to influence the natural cycles of the earth.
  8. That is taken completely out of context. It's from a conversation between Krishna and Balram, where they are looking for reasons why they can't defeat Kharag Singh, and not updesh to us. Bear in mind that Krishna went on to lose that battle! At the end of the narration, Guru Sahib gives their updesh: Harjas Kaur: please read Chaubis Avtar for the reality about Krishan.
  9. On a personal level, what are your thoughts made up of? Can you think of something you haven't seen or heard?
  10. Harjas Kaur, I think a lot of your misunderstanding stems from relying on translations. If you ever visit India, then seek out Mahapursh from the Sampardas that N30 mentioned and speak to them. Some of them sometimes visit Europe and North America as well. There is huge amount of Katha by traditional sampardas available on the internet too. Murtis were first introduced to Harmandir Sahib after the annexation of Punjab by the British. It was under control of Hindu mahants, not Udasi or Nirmala Sikhs. There are quite a few contemporary paintings of Harmandir Sahib during the Sikh Raj and no murtis are present. Have you read what Guru Gobind Singh Ji says about murtis and people who worship them? It is not the SGPC maryada that rejects worship of avtars and devtey, it is Gurbani. I don't understand why you keep going round in circles. If you wrote shorter posts, you would have more time to actually study the language of Gurbani and see first hand what Guru Ji teaches.
  11. You should have shastar with you anyway, a previous post mentions the correct timings. Also check out the link posted by Malwe Da Sher. how is the rest of your nitnem, and why do you want to do Chandi Di Vaar and Uggardanti? (genuine question, not being funny).
  12. Don't read Chandi Di Vaar in the evenings unless you plan on carrying on all night. What doubts do you have veera?
  13. Imagine this scenario: A person was born deaf, has never heard anything and has no grasp of language. How does he think? Do you think in a particular language?
  14. That's the reality of it. Many Sikhs don't like to hear this - even some who consider themselves 'sanatan', but it's just the way it is. Good post bhenji, something we agree on, lol!
  15. Try this: http://news.panthic.org/panthic_tube.php The young Singhs debated very well, without interruptions and shouting. From the debate, it is clear Singhsabha canada is behind all the anti Dasam Granth parchar. Any idea where they get funding from and why haven't they been burned down yet? It was shocking to hear Jeonwala speak against Nitnem Banis, Amrit etc and the way he was holding the pothi like a normal book was disturbing too.
  16. The saroops by Baba Deep Singh Ji and Bhai Mani Singh Ji are identical to the Damdami bir. Quite a few of these saroops still exist - at Hazur Sahib, Damdama Sahib, Patna Sahib, Gurudwara Patshahi 6 in Punjab, etc. You're basing everything on one Gutka Sahib. edit: should have mentioned earlier that not all Banis are arranged in the same way - e.g. in the Vaars, the mangal comes before everything else. So when comparing old Saroops, make sure you compare like for like.
  17. Katha link Good stuff - they speak about Chandi Di Vaar, the difference between anger and bir-rass and how the only reason that rakshas were created was to remove hankaar of the devi/devte. Gyani Balbir Singh Ji carries on the same theme (part 4 on that site).
  18. No, but have seen photos by people I know. How do we know whose Gutka Sahib that is?
  19. Initiation is important - it's the starting point. Don't know where you live, but try to listen to katha by visiting Mahapursh or vidhyarthis from traditional sampardas and you will get to hear a lot of spiritual stuff. The situation today means that there needs to be grassroots parchar at a basic level. Just getting people to start doing paath, seva, simran, keep 5 Kakkars etc. There's katha on the internet by various Mahapursh who explain the spirtual reasons for taking Amrit and the effect it has.
  20. References? How about the Bhramgyanis in the photo above? Alternatively, visit Hazur Sahib and ask to see the oldest saroop they have.
  21. The way it is printed is correct, and carried over from the birs scribed by Bhai Mani Singh Ji and Baba Deep Singh Ji - i.e. exactly the same as the Damdami Bir, which was given gur-gaddi. The Sant Samaj which got together to stop any changes was not like the one we have today. It was made up of Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Bhindranwale, Sant Isher Singh Ji Rarewale, among other Mahapursh. They knew what they were doing.
  22. Don't think of anything as belonging to you - it's all Waheguru Ji's, and all that happens is Hukam.
