  1. the first paragraph seems to be more a direct copy and paste job from sarblos.info. we all know what their agenda is. isnt it a bit hankaari of gian singh to say that "i have all this knowledge...the service i have done for the panth..." etc. the second paragraph could be equally and easily appled to Baba Santa Singh's conduct over Akal Takht repairs in 84. it sounds like gian singh knowing he was going to die thought the only way the sikhs will know of the work he has done is to giv it to vir singh et all, then finding when he has recovered, wanting it back so he can recieve the adulation directly rather than indirectly.
  2. you have just made that up. i have read that gian singh knew that he was dying, and having lied about guru ji taking afheem, was worried that he would die in agony, so he asked vir singh to have his works, correct them and publish them, after this happened gian singh recovered.
  3. i had a look at the 2nd link. here is a quote from it : The first story of the Devi Mahatmya depicts Devi in her universal form as Shakti. Here Devi is central and key to the creation myth; she is the power that induces Vishnu's deep slumber on the waters of the cosmic ocean prior to the manifestation of the Universe which is a continuous cycle of manifestation, destruction and re-manifestation... Hasnt Guru Ji in bani said that the Shivas and Shaktas are all created by or subservient to God? Here is a quote fromn the first link : The life span of Brahma consists of Dwiparardha. The day and night of Brahma are of equal duration. Brahma is the origin of this universe. He is the inconceivable soul- the supreme lord and the cause of all the events. He is beyond the reach of activities. He enters into Prakriti and Purusha- excites both of them to get unified. When Prakriti gets excited, the Supreme Lord manifests Himself in the egg as Brahma. He then commences his creation. The same Brahma attains the form of Vishnu due to the effect of his Satva guna and nurtures the whole creation. Under the influence of Tamo guna, He attains the form of Rudra and finally annihilates the whole creation. He then goes into hibernation.' 'This way, the same Almighty God in his three different forms of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh performs his duties of creation, nurturing and annihilation respectively... this has already been answered in gurbani many times. Ive come to this conclusion. if you want to know what Guru Ji thinks about devi, then read bani, if you want to get into the myriad of theories and what-not and waste your life debating things of little relevance then read the vedic scriptures. im thinking that if this is the prctaice of nirmalas, is this what Guru ji really expected of them?
  4. MY confusion sadly. over what some percieve the devi to be, and her role or status in kalyug.
  5. isnt this where the confusion arises? This seems to be saying that Dasam Pita was upaashik of tiger-riding Devi, or that Guru Jin would be happy that Sikhs are worshipping such devi? Hasnt Guru already told about their roles in Dasam Granth - 24 avtars and chandi bani's? Maybe the problem is the vedant approach?
  6. That logic doesn't exactly follow either as the creation of the Khalsa is as Akal's own army, as Guru Ji has stated in Sri Sarbloh Darbar. Why would Guru give this status and then rely on the Goddess to fulfill it? as far as what i have read, and listened to on this this, the form of chandi was the sword, not the 8 armed devi. Chandi gives Dusht Daman the bachan that in kalyug i will protect you as the sword, not as the roop that she was in at the time ie 8 armed goddess. i think the main thing here is what does "devi" represent to us, individually firstly and then maybe as a panth. also as for the udasis focusing on shiv, i wouldnt really give that too much thought. Guru Nanak, the original udasi never did, and neithe rdid Baba Sri Chand. this shiv focus just didnt fit in with gurmat. unless Shiv Ji also gave Guru Ji a boon that in Kalyug,I will protect your followers as a bata of sukh nidhaan. i spoke to the mahant of Sant Ishar Das' dera jalandhar a few years agao. very disapponted.
  7. navjot, why couldnt the gurus give a set idealogy? is there any point where any of the guru s gave an idealogy that was in contrast to previous gurus? what would gurmat be if the ideologies of the gurus never conformed to each other? can you elaborate on what Dashmesh pita intended? gurus denounced (as far as im aware) that empty rituals are worthless, so what is wrong with saying it? thanks in advance.
  8. sonia deol used to present network east on bbc 2 on saturday mornings in the 1990s. i think hardeep kohli was presenting as well. He was quite funny, she wasn't anything special. Still what if the BBC had got that air-head Narinder from BB to do it?
  9. Harjas Kaur Ji, where there any war, grievance and rapes in hindustan before islam? can you show any gurbani which says that islam is the evidence of kaliyug?
  10. harjas kaur ji, you write :"Sikhs were fighting the Mughal rulers and their Hindu collaborators who fought on behalf of Mughal occupation because they were bought with power, money and jagirs" Did our Guru's take birth to destroy or harm Islam? and you seem to think that all converts to islam were through force. can you clarify? please.
  11. who were the rababis of Guru Gobinds Singh Ji's time, especially from Bhai Mardana's cul?
  12. gogidal singh ji i am think, you, the me are being the bestest friends for this year. You are so special! chatanga.
  13. i think you are going to be killed by Harjas Kaur for writing the above. Happy new year to you.
  14. i was crying when i read this poor person's story. Lets help this poor uneducated or ill-educated brother, who needs help with his english. I am going to try and re-work his excellent posts in english, so that he can learn the correct, or at least a better way to write. who's with me for doing mahaan kirpa on this poor ill-educated person?
  15. i dont think that Mah. Ranjit Singh actualy sideloined the nihangs, or am i wrong? i thought that he didnt want them at the van guard of the army, but not out altogether.
  16. is akhand paath of Sri Sarbloh not a regular event in dal panth?
  17. so if i got myself a some meat and said to myslef " it was leftover anyway..." would that be ok? Afterall the animal is already dead and also i wouoldnt want it to go to waste. I wouldnt be able to live with myself.
  18. firstly, Bibi Ji, thye hindus fought many wars between themselves and it was one party that invited the muslims to india. secondly, a lot of the lower castes converted to islam to escape the untouchability nonsense of the hindus. thirdly, sikhi came into existence to protect all mankind from wasting their human life. not to protect any one community. fourthly, you ask how can sikhs fight muslims and be a part of them, I wish you to clarify how the Sikhs fought against the hindu armies and can still be part of them. Who was Guru Gobind SIngh Ji protecting the Sikhs from? also if a muslim has to forsake the prophet and day of judgement to bow to the Guru, why can the hindus retain their idols and superstition whilst bowing their heads? I am so glad that you were the only one to respond to akaal das' copy and paste effort, cos you have really shown yourself to be a hypocrit! You bleat about how the muslims have treated the hindus, whilst ignoring how hindus have treated the sikhs. It is not extremism to tel any truth, but are you telling the truth? I know that you aren't. I am understanding your hypocrisy much clearer now.
  19. Oh please Bibi Ji, the oppression of Kalyug was down to the muslims? Guru Nanak doesnt even talk about the falseness of the Hindus at all? that is crazy . but im glad you've posted that, it makes more sense of what kind of person you are. Not at all too different to the person who wrote the original post.
  20. Bibi Harjas Kaur Ji If what you have written is true, why did Guru Nanak Ji need to take birth? People were already going to sachkhand if what you are saying is true. All the pre-sikh panths did eventually lead to God, but gurmat is Gaddi-rah to God. Gurmat rejects many of the hindu-muslim practices as futile and worthless, and non-pleasing to God.
  21. would this vidya be something to start teaching to a 6 year old? or is there an ideal age to start learning? what is the youngest practitioner of SV in any Dal that any member has seen?
  22. Bibi Harjas Kaur Ji, i nor anybody on this forum has defended what akaal das posted. Neither have I said that you are wrong either. I think that you have a very good debating technique and have great passion for sanatan dharma, which i subscribe to, upto a point though i may add. But nevertheless, you are making a very good and worthwhile stand on defending sanatan dharma on a sikh forum, while although it has been brought to your attention many times, you fail to do the same defence of Sanatan dharma ona hindu site. The same site that has called your Guru, the son of a hand-maid, the 5 k's useless, and more. It would be a very interesting experience for you and many members of this forum would be interested as well. I defenitely would.
