  1. Details of Baba Bahaal Das Ji can be found in the biography of Baba Maha Harnam Singh Ji of Bhucho Kalan. it comes as a set of several volumes in Panjabi (-though, not too difficult a read). I am not aware of pics of them.
  2. In Sanatan/Indian thought Ghandaravs are the celestial musicians or singers of heaven. I have heard certain classical musicians of India with the same title. Could anyone explain who these individuals are? Are they higher that a Pandit or Ustad of Indian music? Is the title awarded by a guru to the shish or by peers?
  3. let me give you guys an anlogy: Is she/it:- 1. The Queen 2. Elizabeth Regina 3. Her Britannic Majesty of GB and NI 4. Queenie 5. Old lady scrounging off British Taxpayer Its the same person but different name or title used at differing occasions, most being inter-changable!!!! All this 'intellectual' debate about Hindu, Sikh, Sanatan, Surya Bansi etc. For those of you without the brains of an archibishop, let me explain: the subject matter is the same as it was when Gurdev Nidar Singh was teaching years ago. Only the name/title has changed/can be changed. With all this arguing about the title of a book how on earth will you guys be reading/studying the contents??? Fateh and Out!
  4. U really meant "nanga halwai" , didn't ya???
  5. Read 'Stretching Scientifically' . Need to read it a couple of times as it as a very loose structure. By an East German trainer. He describes different forms of flexibility: ballistic (swinging your legs higher), static (being able to force yourself into a stretch ie. doing the splits on the floor and dynamic(?) (being able to slowly raise your leg up inthe air using its own strength). He goes onto state the different types of flexibility required for different sports. Also that some forms of flexiblility/stretching will actually hinder your sports performance - something that is said by Nihang Nidar Singh in his Sanjam Kiriya classes. Also being bought up as a veggie helps with natural suppleness, as stated by Master Leepo 7th Dan JuJitsu! (Something to remember when you next take birth - if you're a meat eater.)
  6. with all the fat and sugar and junk calories that goes in a Full English breakfast, its not too dissimilar to what all langars serve these days. My question is, What is worse: serving meat in gurdwaras or the crap that you usually find being served leading to obesity, Type II diabetes, gout, joint problems and a whole host of health issues amongst the community?? Even our kids are bribed and poisoned to attend gurdwaras/sikh camps with plates of chips, pizza, beans, coke etc!!
  7. "If its the person who I think it is, they did seva of Baba Maha Harnam Singh Ji ( who were the guru of Baba Nand Singh Ji Nanaksar Wale). Their sakhis appear in the biography of Baba Harnam Singh Ji. Very kat'han seva it was too! I'll speak to my sources to find out more. " Pg1 My misunderstanding. Iwas thinking of BABA BAHAAL DAS JI who were the sevadar of baba harnam singh ji. Still worth reading about them.
  8. AK 47 - the most favoured weapon of the worlds terrorist organisations! Quality rifle , just don't try shooting an apple from someones head. Or ....are you talking about some schoolboy gang???
  9. If its the person who I think it is, they did seva of Baba Maha Harnam Singh Ji ( who were the guru of Baba Nand Singh Ji Nanaksar Wale). Their sakhis appear in the biography of Baba Harnam Singh Ji. Very kat'han seva it was too! I'll speak to my sources to find out more.
  10. Recently I have been listen to the katha of Maharaz Tarlochan Darshan Das Ji on Aastha Channel. In the past, all I have heard of him and his sect/cult from mainstream Sikhs has all been negative. But listening to his katha I have not heard anything controversal - from my point of view. Can anyone shed any light on his beliefs and why he is frowned upon by mainstream Sikhs??
  11. Good Lord! ...the state of British graduates. They don't make them as they used to! LOL Thanks Chatanga
  12. yep will do. may take time - as its all boxed up.
  13. In the book 'The Mystical Arts of the Ninja' - or maybe one of his other books I've read, Stephen Hayes (a Bhuddist) compares OM as being the same as AMEN or AMEEN of the Abrahamic religions. The basic sound structure is the same.
  14. MKS, you're a follower of the Old Testament/Bible?? Are you assuming that these terrorists didn't kill any Sikhs in the bombings? This implies that it was SIkh Terrorists who planted the bombs? Do you know something that we don't......?
  15. Its called "beautification"! Dont get too angry, its karsewa, innit. LOL I strongly sugest that all those who take an interest should record/photograph all these artworks/relics/history for posterity. It may be the last time you or others ever get to see it.
  16. Matheen As I said JUSTICE DELAYED.... I dont deny that Sikhs have done something now to put him behind bars and to 'take him out'. But why has it taken so long?
  17. On Sky's Discovery Knowledge Channel in UK Date: Wednesday 10 September 08 Time: 1800 (?) Weapon Masters It is a series of programs about different weapons around the world. A whole program is dedicated to the chakra as used in Shaster Vidiya. Made in conjunction with Nihang Niddar Singh of UK. Fateh
  18. In the English Legal System there is a saying: JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED! His alledged crimes and antics have been known for many years yet he has been immune from any actions from the so called 'Panth' or the Indian Judiciary. All the while Singhs wave placards and shout slogans on the streets against some movie that that apparently "hurts our sentiments", even before it has been shown! Priorites are misplaced, for sure! Who cares if someone rapes or murders, so long as they are in Sikhi saroop, eh? Sikhs smack of the Islamic situation where brothers can do whatever they want as long as they are percieved as good muslims, without anyone questioning them, ie Idi Amin.
  19. Check out this performance by Prof. Satnam SIngh. http://www.apnaorg.com/music/farid/ Overall a great site for Panjabi literature/music/culture. PANJAB; PANJABI; PANJABIAT! Fateh
  20. I believe that when these mahan-hasti's get to the stage they are at they can dispense with things like kirpan kanga etc. A bit like when you join an army. At the begining you follow strict rules and regulations, dress and protocols ; but as you pass basic training and get promoted you follow diffrent rules.
  21. Fateh As you all know there are plenty of internet resources on the web about Sikhism. Most of them are of the standard 10Gurus, 5K, go to gurdwara, 1984, dont cut hair/eat meat/drink type. Most mundane and lacking intellectual stimulation! Are there any sites members on this forum can recommend that are on par with Sikhawareness.ocm??
  22. Having recently joined the 21st Centuary and subscribed to Sky I have noticed that there is not a single dedicated channel to Sikhi on system. There are several others that have a bit of path/kirtan in the morning or evening but that is it. The highlight being Sant S. Maskins katha. There are, however, several local radio stations broadcasting from gurdwaras. If you look at the other major religions they all have several channels about their respective belifs. One channel that I do like watching is Aastha TV. A beautiful set of programs in various languages. What I have noticed is that whereas other channels/religions ALWAYS preach how there faith is better than the rest and others are wrong, Aastha teaches snatanist philosophy/theology/bhakti/yog etc . ie real katha how it should be. Coming back to my main point: is there a reason why there are no proper Sikhi channels with lessons from varying sants/ scholars etc?? Also with real kirtan by proper ragis not someone who has done a 6 week correspondence course on the tabla-baja (that seems to be the case with most kirtanias that I hear at Harimandir Sahib). I dont believe lack of money is an issue; could it be lack of leadership or simply a case of "can't be arsed, guv'nor"?? Fateh
  23. I remember as a kid in the gallery at Rara Sahib all the paintings and photos of Baba Ji - even in Military Uniform ( were they ever in the Army??). One thing that becomes apparent is that they had a great sense of style!
  24. Woudn't know where to start with any questions , but could you record your discussions with the Pir Sahib and put it up on the 'net??
