    “The meat of an animal killed in an instant with a machine or electric current is also considered Chatka.”
    (Bhai Kanh Singh Nabha, Gurmatmartand, Vol:1, (SGPC, 1962) 305)
    Kanh Singh Ji in same foot note also clarified:
    “In the world no matter which language if on saying Gods name with one blow a animal is Chatka it is acceptable for Sikhs to eat it.” (ibid)

    Have you seen the useless 'symbolic' butter knife most people carry as kirpans? They aren't ANY use for actually wounding assailants. Most amritdharis are actually too scared to carry genuine weapons by the looks of it (a minute percentage aren't)?  And where the hell are all of the UK ones with all the grooming going on in the UK?
    As for pjd, they aren't any different to rest of the quom these days - yeah you've got some that can fight (like most other jaats do), but plenty are cowards when they have to face serious challenges (like proper pussy school yard bully mentality) - I work with them all the time on sites. Have you swallowed all that that self-congratulatory bullsh1t from the 'Panjabi music industry' or something.
    This is getting boring now.

    I want to see what the sangats opinion of this idea
    We should do interview and documentary on Baba Jaswant Singh ji Daudhar Wale, who lives in Canada.
    Baba ji has served taksal since 1961.  He is the one who recorded the entire katha of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji Bindranwale.
    I'm sure he is full of stories of Sants and incidents that we could learn from.  Baba ji joined taksal in 1961, think of all the puratan sants baba ji met and the stories he heard.  We would get a glimpse into the past and ask him questions of what the panth is going through and ask if any mahapursh told the answer to modern day problems.  It will be good to document baba jis  life for the future.
    The panth needs to document and interview the Sants who are in their 70s 80s.  Think about the videos we have of the diwans of Sant isher Singh ji, how one persons decision to record them have given us a window to the past, I hope we can do the same for future Sikhs.

    Why? I asked you some questions on this topic last week, to which you haven't responded. Why are you so eager to draw up your own conclusion?
    Let's discuss some things a little further.

    Good start. But let me add a little more to that. Where was Harnam Singh quoting from when he said this? The SGPC's very OWN record of it.

    I asked you where these two traditions started from? You didn't answer. Maybe you would like to now?

    Sure. There has to be some sort of accuracy doesn't there? So what if one's narrative is inaccurate? Should we not discuss why?

    I have a  lot of respect for Kiranjot Kaur. But she has not quite grasped the whole situation here. Amrik Chandigarhia does not preach the maryada of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He does not have any respect or belief in Sri Dasme Patshah's Granth Sahib.
    Why is it that Amrik Chandigarhia can speak against sarovars, but yet hold his tongue against the heinous act of darshan rogi in starting a new form of khande pahul ceremony?
    Why is it that Ranjit Dhadriwala has also held his tongue on this yet been very vocal on other matters of less consequence? darshan rogi recorded a telephone call with dhadriwala some years ago and it is on youtube. Look at the language used for dhadri in that video. Yet dhadri can criticise Kanwar Grewal for going to the Ram Rahim birthday party, but remains mute on darshan rogi. Maybe you can share your thoughts on that?

    Koi reacted to Zorawar Singh Jatt in Sikh leaders spur Dr. Ambedkar plan to convert millions of dalits to Sikhism.
    Is it true that in the early 19th century, Sikh leaders spurned Dr. Ambedkar plans to convert millions of hindu dalits to Sikhism ? I keep hearing this story over and over. They say that Dr. Ambedkar was tired of bigoted brahmins and their mistreatment of Dalits and he had planned to convert millions of them to Khalsa, and went to talk to Sikh leaders , but the sikh leaders were swayed by Nehru and Gandhi to not follow through with the plans because then those " high caste , in power , elite " sikhs would lose their power of the religion , due to it being filled by dalits. I always knew , Nehru was a scumbag and a snake and the worst enemy of Sikhs , some say he was the descendent of Gangu , and even Gandhi was no better, that pedophile was always jelous of Bhagat Singh and his popularity with the rest of the country and did nothing to stop him from being hanged .. But the worst thing is again the Gaddari , the soo called sikh leaders were afraid to lose their grip and power over sikhism and decided to not strengthen Sikhism with number due to their own greed.  Time and time again , the Sikhs have been backstabbed by their own , the gaddari runs deep..  Guru Gobind couldn't fix the wicked nature of his countrymen , since Sikhs have always been stabbed not by outside enemies but soo called " sikhs "  , their own. So apparentley, Ambedkar converted the dalits to Buddhism.

    Koi got a reaction from paapiman in What are your thoughts about Perfect Living Masters?
    Just to add to this, for those who have read Se Kinehiya, Sant Baba Harnaam Singh Ji Rampur Khera Wale did not have a physical/living master. He only worshipped Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, a point which us made very clear throughout the book.
    Now, I'm not saying a spiritual master is not needed. In fact I would say they are extremely beneficial, no doubt. But, as far as what we need is concerned, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is all we need.
    This point was also said by Sant Baba Waryam Singh Ji Ratwara Sahib Wale. That if you are unable to recognise whether or not someone is a saint, then don't worry. Only believe and bow to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. That is enough.

    First cousin and same surname marriage is not allowed in khatri and arora community,  it considers taboo.  Its happening in arora sikh community in Afghanistan due to low population and India arora doesn't want to marry with them.  In hindu khatri and arora community i dindt even hear about it which gather maximum no of population. In Hindu punjabi community like arora,  khatri it considers sin to marriage within first cousin.

    This is key Guru Maharaj updesh, as long as mortal thinks he/she is doer that causes further fragmentation/identification with separate I-personal ego I and separate desires and actions of personal I that further ensues karma be it good and bad that determines next birth, current life situations/birth.

    This from Sant Jagjit Singh Harkhowale katha:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~   Raag means-individualistic love/attachment/desires with ego, Dvaish- partiality/dualistic mind   From Avidya(ignorance that this jiv is separate) everything is born.   Here is the cycle-   From Avidya (ignorance this jiv is seperate) - ego is born.   From ahankar (ego) doership is born then- raag and dvaish is born   From Raag and Dvaish- karams are born   And from Karam, this individual jev(person) goes through cycle rebirth/reincarnation of seperations from Vahiguroo.     Here is Same cycle shown reversed in order to go back to our real self-     If one does not wish to have sorrow in future, have a genuine desire not be born seperated again from Vahiguroo.   If you have desire not be born seperated again from Vahiguroo, don't do karams with your individualistic mind affected with ego.   In order not to do karams with your individualistic mind- don't do raag dvaish.   In order not to do raag dvaish- rise above from egoistic mind.   In order not to have egoistic mind- learn internal bibek with buddhi(intellect). Buddhi(intellect-pure cognitve perception) other end is atma   In order to have true internal bibek, use bhramgyan(knowledge of real self) to destroy avidya.     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Hi!
    I was looking for a Sikh forum and this seems like a nice community. I'm a 35 year old father of 2 boys and I live in Virginia in the USA. I've studied religions for sometime, spending some time as a Christain, then Zen Buddhist, the Hassidic Judaism and currently I am Baha'i and also a Platonist.
    I'd love to discuss some of the aspects of Sikh theology particularly the unity of God and our union with the Divine.
    On one of our Baha'i chats the Sikhs came up. We had nothing but good things to say and the group felt we should get to know one another. So I'm also here on behalf of my fellow online Bahais who send their greetings and prayers.
    God is most glorious!
