N30, this is very uncharacteristic of you. Is it really you or someone hacked your account? First endorsing shooting of darshan das and now just blindly 'guessing' a group for assasination. This type of blind presumption is what the khalistanis you despise usually use to label all those who didn't support their cause (even though they may have had absolutely nothing to do with the situation or supported neither side) to be 'anti-sikh'.

Be careful, you may become that which you hate so much and not even know it.

neo . can you give any names, or figures cos thats a pretty broad statement ie " killed MANY virakt sadhus...

This is no suprise, ask any older singhs, they will tell you so called tat khalsa singhs during singh sabha lehar killed many virkat sadhus all in name - they are curropt mahants. Intimidation and violence against virkat sadhus/dera's followed thru kharkho movement where virkat sadhus refused to beleive in ideology of khalistan after 1984 and their hunger for blood for blood.

I don't think there was any mass movement against Sadhus in the Kharkoo days. It seems that it is all too easy to blame them for almost any killing that took place then. I don't recall Hindu sadhus being killed let alone Nirmalas or Udasis during that time. If any did get killed then it would an extremely rare event and more connected with some forms of personal emnity or land grab than a Khalistani connection. Even during the heydays of the Kharkoos, Hindu sadhus used to wander the Punjab countryside much as they did before 1984.

I'm not aware of any Nirmale and Udasin sadhus being specially targeted violently by Singhs during the Singh Sabha movement. The only violent movement that came out of the Singh Sabha movement were the later Babbar Akalis. But the Babbar Akalis were strictly fighting against the British, while it was their peaceful counterpart the Akalis who during the Gurdwara reform movement took over Gurdwaras without using violence.

Even Mahant Narain das of Nankana Sahib who using his Pathan mercenaries killed and even burned alive peaceful Sikh activists was not harmed. When he got out of jail he was unharmed by Singhs. Mahant Narain das lived and died of old age.
