paapiman reacted to GurjantGnostic in Best Philosophy books you have read
Was trying to think of some easy to miss philosophy that isn't too dry.
There's a lot of Bruce Lee's writings out now.
And, these here, they're in audio and video format, unless you want to buy his book, but Frank Zappa is a really interestingly placed, sober, politically sophisticated, conservative, Composer who mainly was only infamous for his protest brand of rock music. He pioneered and financed a great many of the devices that became electronic music production today. His vices are sex and cigarettes fair warning. But if you want to hear rational commentary, and truly american philosophy from the 1950s to 1990s, Frank Zappa is worth aquainting yourself with.
Musically most people would probably prefer his later orchestral stuff, and various rifts. The bulk of his music was orchestra and protests disguised as rock.
I won't link most his songs lol.
Be he fought against the pmrc and censorship among other things and his insight is interesting.

     Don't take it from me.
Oh and music videos? Invented by Frank. All the effects? Frank.
    And. Frank. Was. Sober.

I'm laying off it for a bit. I think it's drying me up a bit, want to take a smaller amount like half a teaspoon every two days.

I got some triphala and various churans on a trip to Punjab. Generally it seemed good for gut health, but I found it to be very astrigent. I would probably take half a teaspoon every other day or every two days as you said.

I'm not taking it any more as it's too stringent. I still have some left so I might give it another go sometime. I take some ashwaganda occasionally instead.
I noticed there was a recipe in Prem Sumarag that uses triphala mixed with other stuff.

Tried this a couple of years ago (raw) - very bitter so not pleasant to put in mouth or swallow. I find it was quite 'strong' (guess that's the whole point) . Could not stick to a routine.
    Anyone still taking it ?
I think you have to have taken it for months at least to get real benefits

buy some equipment from Argos, they have good deals going on at the moment. Also get some kettlebells, or desi clubs are event better.
I am currently using the dumbells and barbell I got from Argos a few years ago.  They come with plastic weights, but I have added on metal weights which I obtained later. I use the kettlebells for desi type exercises as well as the random squat here and there.
The pandemic and and remote working has enabled me to workout more regularly.
Which reminds me, my barbell has been in the garage for over a year, I need to bring it inside to my office room.

paapiman reacted to Premi in Coronavirus - Covid 19
No. Everything is in Hukam. When our time comes, it comes. Not many people who have died from 'covid 19' were young. Most died due to other reasons but also tested positive for 'covid'

paapiman reacted to ipledgeblue in Coronavirus - Covid 19
actually the NHS and probably other country's health organisations cheated and lied. A lot of people died from other causes, but positive covid results were added on falsely. I am unsure what the benefits for doing this were, but it must be some monetary corruption.

paapiman got a reaction from Soulfinder in Average Jatt Sikh Male - 5-7
Jatts, on average, probably had better access to dairy products for sure in the past. That might be one of the reasons that they were (on avg) taller than Raamgarihe, Majhbee, Ravidaisye, etc, in the past.
Do you think that this Extremist Lacto-vegetarian ideology, which had become prevalent in the Sikh Panth, also contributed to physical/mental weakness in the Panth? Think about it, Jatts (on average) could still get plenty of nutrients, if they had many cows, buffaloes, fresh wheat, rice, etc; which might not have been possible for many people belonging to non-agricultural castes. But, if these people had a habit of eating Jhatka meat, then maybe they would have been, on average, more taller and stronger.

Depends on the type of Jaap you do too. The "Taseer" of Sri Dasam Gurbani is different from that of Sri Aad Gurbani.
