Shukria Hanji. I had never heard of Pitta before.
Also it is very important to keep your bowels clean. "Make sure you bust several grumpies a day lest you act like a grumpie yourself", so says Dave.
In the military, for ground forces, the number one cause of soldiers becoming too ill to fight is they neglect poopin out of fear, and their body becomes toxic then ill.
My cousin who was a Navy Corpsman said when he was nested with ground troops his job as a medic ultimately was play mom, carry the guys extra gear to give them a break, and make them poop regularly. He said the rest was iv and salt water balance and the odd patch up job before evac.

    Personal tips:
    - Have proper sleep, good quality sleep and will power have a strong correlation in my personal research
    - Have proper diet (don't get caught being "hangry")
    - Daily exercise (start with 5 pushups every hour or something, build up your strength)
    - You may have Pitta imbalance so try to eat a Pitta pacifying diet especially in the summer time aka Pitta season
    - Also the mindset by which you consume your food affects is conduciveness to your body, begin eating after 1 minute or two of Jaap, remember guru sahiban, and shaheed singhs to induce sato gun within the food and reduce its natural tamasic quality or the tamasic qualities it picked up when it was being prepared

    The below might help too.

    Quote

When you get angry, say: I seek refuge in God from the accursed evil (A'oudhou billaahi min as shaytaan ir rajeem). The prophet (p.b.u.h.) ordered us to say thus.

When Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) got angry, he dragged her by the nose and said: " O dear Aaisha, say: O God, you are the Lord of my prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.), forgive my sins and remove the anger from my heart and save me from misguidance."

If anger does not go by this means, you will sit down if you are standing, lie down if you are sitting, and come near to earth, as you have been created of earth. Thus, make yourself calm like the earth. The cause of wrath is heat and its opposite is to lie down on the ground and to make the body calm and cool.

The prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: "Anger is a burning coal. Don't you see your eyebrows wide and eyes reddish? So when one of you feels angry, let him sit down if standing, and lie down if sitting."

If still anger does not stop, make ablution with cold water or take a bath, as fire cannot be extinguished without water.

The prophet (p.b.u.h.) said: "When one of you gets angry, let him make ablution with water as anger arises out of fire. "In another narration, he said: "Anger comes from the devil and the devil is made of fire."

Ali (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "The prophet (p.b.u.h.) did not get angry for any action of the world. When any true matter charmed him, nobody knew it and nobody got up to take revenge for his anger. HE GOT ANGRY ONLY FOR TRUTH."

That's the best thing to do, but it is not possible to keep doing that for long hours. I am looking for some other practical steps.

For example, if you get attacked by this demon at a workplace or when doing groceries - what to do?

Very interesting, i didn't knew that.  But i know that cold shower would give you shock like feeling and helps to stop any ongoing thoughts or general anxiety issues.  It helps a lot for building up concentration for naam simran in the morning after a good night sleep.

It is not the case with Opium and Cannabis that in taking them one is attached to vices. Taking a little [of these] intoxicants makes the intellect sharp. Jewelers consume cannabis to help them in their process of authenticating and valuing jewelry. The reason for this is because [the consumption of cannabis] focuses the mind. Riding these intoxicants helps to alleviate fatigue and to perform massage.

[The consumption of opium and cannabis] enables digestion of heavy foods like milk, butter, clarified butter, etc, enabling their absorption to give strength. It strengthens and thickens semen. It stops diarrhea, as a result from traveling. It focuses the mind of devotional people on their devotional practice. No sins arise from consuming [opium and cannabis]. For those who need to consume an intoxicant then only the consumption of the Treasure of Happiness [Sukh Nidhan, Cannabis] and Chhatardhara [Opium] are permitted.

The 9th Chapter of Gurbilas Patshahi Dasvi (1797) by Sukha Singh mentions how Guru Gobind Singh was reciting Brahm Kavach and Chandi Chritar while performing a Havan to make the Goddess appear at Nainadevi prior to the creation of the Khalsa.

Brahm Kavach and other similar Banis would be recited day and night while standing with music, the 700 Saloks of the Markhandey Puran [which is the Chritar Chritar] was expounded on by the Treasure Trove [Guru Gobind Singh], which has also been carefully explained and understood in the Vedas.

[It describes ] The Goddess, who is beautifully adorned with eight arms, whose form resides in the Khag [double edged sword], Saif [straight sword], Saang [metal Spear] and the Dhanu [Bow].
