There was a Gurmukh mother during the times of third master. She used to live in Afghanistan and she was married with one child. She used to come to have darshan of Maharaaj and do seva. People observed that she used to move her arm. When someone asked her, she informed him/her that she was moving the cot of her baby. People thought she was mastani in love of God. Once, Maharaaj called her and told her to explain herself. What used to happen was that, she used to live in Afghanistan, which is pretty far away from Punjab (if one is traveling by foot). It would be very hard for her to come everyday to have darshan of Maharaaj and do seva. Therefore, when she would be in Afghanistan, she would focus on the feet of the third master and she would reach Punjab in very less time (sort of time travel). Then, once all seva was done, she used to focus on the feet of her husband, to reach back Afghanistan in a very short period of time.

This sakhi shows us the tremendous power of pati-varta women.

P.S - Please don't start arguing over the authenticity of this sakhi. If someone does not want to believe in it, it's their choice. There is reference to time travel in Gurbani. The ability to move or pass something from one place to another, through the power of concentration in very less time.

    Three more points regarding women.

Firstly, Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj decides to form his body inside a woman. Again, this gave honor to the women. He could have just appeared like Bhagwan Narsingh jee Maharaaj.

Secondly, the first woman to have darshan (also kirpa) of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj was a woman, named Mata Daulatan.

Thirdly, the first Sikh is also a woman, which is Mata Bebe Nankee jee.

Great uplifting of women by Satguru jee from very low levels to great heights.

Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj.

Good points bro. But just want to add other sects which were started during the times of tenth master or before - Sevapanthi, Udhasi, Nirmalay (branches into Rara Sahib, Nanaksar, etc), etc.

I greatly appreciate your efforts in fighting for Sikh rights (even though you are a non-Indian in ancestry). You should be a role model for many Sikhs around the globe. All Sikh females should look upon you for inspiration.

Once again, thanks a lot for whatever you have done for the khalsa panth.

    He also said this
    "

Today, some Sikh women cannot fathom the greatness of Satguru jee as they have not lived in those time where women were treated so badly. There is an example of this in history.

There were two women, who listened to a katha and they were caught. It was decided to pour hot wax into their ears as they had broken the so-called laws.

Even Brahmin and Khatri women did not have certain rights, you can imagine the status of so-called low caste women (JYI- approximately more than 80% of today's Sikhs are derived from so-called lower castes like jatts, tarkhans, chamars, Chimbay, etc)

Bottom line - Women have been given optimum rights in Sikhism. Whatever was given to them during the times of Satguru jee was revolutionary. Some examples are listed below.

    Today we see,

Sikh women are allowed to listen to Katha.

Sikh women can recite mantars (Women and Shudar people were not allowed to recite mantars)

Sikh women are allowed to listen to kirtan.

Sikh women are allowed to do seva in langar.

Sikh women are allowed to attain shaster videya.

Sikh women are allowed to attain shaastar videya.

Sikh women can be part of gurudwara committees.

Sikhism has done a lot to uplift the status of women.

Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj."

Sant gyani gurbachan singh bhindranwale usually gave references to puratan rehitnamas when he quoted it. I know this because i am going through puratan japji sahib teeka by sant gyani gurbachan singh bhindranwale, lot of puratan granths and rehitnamas names are cited in the foot notes. so I am fairly certain he didn't lie on anything as far as scholarly citation academia is concerned.

Yes off course as i said earlier- Bhai dya singh ji in his rehtinama classify lifestyle of sikh in three different categories- gristhi(rajogun/satogun), behingum(satogun) and akaali nihang(rajogun/balance of satogun/tamas)-soorme to prevent sikhs falling from same pitfalls as many other dharamis sharia panthis have.

    Regarding the color red

Sūhā rang vikār hai kanṯ na pā▫i▫ā jā▫e. The red color is vain and useless; it cannot help you obtain your Husband Lord.
Is lahḏe bilam na hova▫ī rand baiṯẖī ḏūjai bẖā▫e. This color does not take long to fade; she who loves duality, ends up a widow.
Munḏẖ i▫āṇī ḏummṇī sūhai ves lobẖā▫e. She who loves to wear her red dress is foolish and double-minded.
Sabaḏ sacẖai rang lāl kar bẖai bẖā▫e sīgār baṇā▫e. So make the True Word of the Shabad your red dress, and let the Fear of God, and the Love of God, be your ornaments and decorations.
    ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਜਿ ਚਲਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੨॥ नानक सदा सोहागणी जि चलनि सतिगुर भाइ ॥२॥ Nānak saḏā sohāgaṇī jė cẖalan saṯgur bẖā▫e. ||2|| O Nanak, she is a happy soul-bride forever, who walks in harmony with the Will of the True Guru. ||2||

Bro, the reason I said that one of the main functions of sexual relationship is to procreate, is because having sex for PLEASURE is a sin. I know it sounds very strict, but this is Gurmat. A Sikh can have sex with his wife only with the intention of getting a child. Now, sometimes the sexual act will have to be repeated in order to get the wife pregnant. The intention is the key.

*On a lighter note, Srimaan Sant Baba Nand Singh jee Maharaaj once told a person that a husband can have sex with his wife, a maximum of once a week. But, he also said that a Sikh should be brave and try to remain unmarried* (Celibate) which according to me indicates that the above statement was possibly made for ordinary people like me.

Hindi is one of the languages used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj. It is used a lot in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj (Brij Bhasha is a dialect of Hindi).
Punjabi was in use even before the incarnation of God - Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj in Punjab. Punjabi and Gurumukhi are two different terms. Satguru gave us a new script called Gurumukhi. One can write any language in that script.
Additionally, Shromani Bhagat Baba Kabeer jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Jaidev jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ramanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Parmanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Soordaas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ravidas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
That is why i believe that Hindi should be very dear to Sikhs. I seriously can't believe that some Sikhs seem to hate Hindi. Not only Hindi, but other languages like Urdu, Persain, Arabic, Sindhi, Marathi, etc(the ones used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj) should all be respected greatly by Sikhs.
Additionally, not all Sikhs are Punjabi (they are majority though). There are Afghan Sikhs (mother tongue - Pashto), Sindhi Sikhs (mother tongue - Sindhi), North Indian Sikhs (mother tongue - Hindi), White Sikhs (mother tongue - English/Spanish), Kashmiri Sikhs (mother tongue - Kashmiri), etc. All these Sikhs have a right to be proud of their mother tongue and speak it proudly at Gurudwaras or anywhere else.
