You are doing what she has been doing. Judging whole gender based on personal beliefs and couple incidents. Not gonna argue whether women are dirty or not, if you perceive them to be dirty chances are you will manifest it . Dirty word itself is pretty insulting no matter in what context you talk about it. Men or women, no one is dirty, it's just our mind. Once we clean them up then this word dirty will be gone from dictionary.
All the people above, listen to this and you will find peace.

Bhagat pooran Singh ji started from begging and cleaning people's feces while taking care of those not so blessed people. Over the time he became such a well known person that he was given Medals. My thinking is totally different than you, for me you don't demand leadership roles, you do your kirat and you will be rewarded then you have no big Ego. If a woman or man really want to serve, they can start from anywhere and what they have. All that leadership roles are an Ego trip and it will get us nowhere. Mother teresa said that when she clean people's feces, she's not disgusted since she sees God in everyone. Bhagat ji is a mother Teresa for India and had the same thinking. These are the type of leaders I want. Not who can't take no and start a war.
I thought the biggest reason you were fighting since there is not a single place where female panj peyarey are allowed and you told me yesterday that AKJ allow it so I am just thinking all that time you wasted on women right was not even necessary.
Agree that no one should be overlooked based on their gender, but I have more respect for the woman  with high avastha who let it go since she realized all of this is trivial.

Don't worry I'm laughing. I just got annoyed cause these topics have been going for at least two years now and frankly I'm sick of it. I will edit my post to make it more child friendly.
Both paapiman and satkiran are drawn to these topics like flys are drawn to light.

I also feel pity for you. Your thinking and understanding is very superficial and limited. Many users here have tried to explain you the reasoning behind counting or Mala or keeping time. But it seems you are not here to learn, only to propagate your Missionary Views.

Tell us about your jeevan or daily routine first before you start to pose questions about lives of highly spiritual beings ?
For example, how many time do you watch TV, tv serials, movies, hollywood, bollywood, how many times do you get thoughts of Kaam or look at other girls with buri nazar or jerk off or have wet dreams, how many times you miss nitnem , or how much simran do you do , have you ever tasted the nectar of Amrit inside you , have you heard anhad naad, or have you had darshan .....?
First, evaluate yourself, then think about discussing maryadas of Pooran Brahmgianis .

@akalpurkh A lot of these shabads have been mistranslated, like that Shabad where Kabir ji's Muslim Mother is getting angry at him for chanting Shri Ram Naam on his mala, all day.

    ਹਮਾਰੇ ਕੁਲ ਕਉਨੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਕਹਿਓ ॥
Kabir's mother says - "Who has ever chanted "Ram" in our family?"
    ਜਬ ਕੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਲਈ ਨਿਪੂਤੇ ਤਬ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਭਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
She continues-  "Ever since my idiot son took a mala in his hand, he has made my life miserable."
I will respond to all of them in due time.

Kabeer ji did not waste his life with rosary. In the beginning people are not at the state where they can do simran or rememberance of Vaheguroo without any aid. Rosary is just an aid, just like simran or kirtan to remember Vaheguroo. I do jaap with Rosary or Telly counter because without it, i end up doing nothing. Now you will say 5 banis are brahmanvad too. I do set a goal for 40 days or a month and try to finish it. For you this might be a brahamanvad, but for me it's my time well spent since I am nowhere near to be able to remember Vaheguroo ji 24/7.
Don't create blockage for beginner who are trying their best to reach a state where they won't need anything. I have read numerous times how when people do paath by counting they are doing brahamvad. Maskeen ji said in the beginning people start doing path or simran because they want something( maya) but eventually their  Kundalini rises and they start feeling the Love. You can't expect me to start climbing mountains when I am learning how to climb stairs.
A baby takes baby steps to learn walking, he uses mothers hands and furniture to walk and eventually start walking on his own. If you can do simran and jaap without any aid, good for you. Don't discourage others.
If someone wants to do 40 sukhmani sahib in 20 days or 10 days, there is nothing wrong in it. Repetition is for our subconscious mind and everything that gets into subconscious part of the mind start becoming reality. If someone wants to carry a Rosary and Telly counter, let's not close our mind and start saying stop this, say Vaheguroo's name in your heart. Tell them great job, make sure ego won't enter in you saying I did this much amount of paath then the very whole purpose is defeated.

Mala is an ancient device for keeping track of time (amongst other things).
In Guru Granth sahib, you will never hear Guru Sahibs say "meditate for 20 minutes" or "24 hours" or "meditate around the clock".
    There were no clocks.
Their unit of measuring time was breath "meditate Shwas Giraas" meditate with every breath and every swallow, which translates to "meditate all the time".
Their unit of measuring time was the positioning of the sun "meditate Atth peher", which translated to "meditate 24 hours" or "meditate around the clock"
This is how tehy said to meditate all the time.
So what about specific amounts of time like "meditate for 20 minutes". Well that is done with a Mala. And it's a rough unit of measurement. It's your own personal unit of measurement.
Suppose - When you count on a mala, you can see that if you do 101 Malas that it goes from afternoon to evening, (roughly 3 hours in modern age).
So when you sit down with your eyes closed and going into a state of being, which is a state where you cannot keep track of time. Then you can rely on your Mala. You can do 101 Malas and you will know only 3 hours will pass by.
You can focus on maintaining state, instead of worrying about time.
Can you imagine if you sit down to attempt samadhi and the whole day goes by because there are no clocks or alarms to tell you, you've been in smadhi for far too long? You will miss the day's work and all the chores you need to do.

Do you know those saints who went into Samadhi for days? Some even went into samadhi until their death and became fossilized!
Can a Grihasti banda afford to go through that?
That's the functional and practical aspect of having a mala. It acts like a timer, like an alarm clock.

Guru Granth Sahib Ji highly respect Sants. Most Sants use mala for the purpose of teaching to devotees. Sants are the living embodiment of the teachings of Guru Sahib.
Also, there is a shabad in Gurbani by Bhagat Kabir ji  bhookhe bhagat na keeje yeh maala apni leeje  I cannot do your bhagti if I am hungry, here take away your mala..This is an evidence that Bhagat used to do Maalas in his initial stages of Bhagti.
Also, there is a sakhi from the life of Guru Nanak Sahib where a young boy made a mala out of his hair, and Guru Nanak used to keep that Mala on his Turban. This can be seen in the painting that was specifically created by Baba Nand Singh ji. Baba Nand Singh ji used to have pratakh darshan of Guru Nanak Sahib.
You can find Simrana of Baba Deep Singh ji maharaj which was made out of Sarbloh.
You can also find simrana and malas made out of Sarbloh for Mata Sahib Kaur Ji.
Nihangs used malas made out of Sarbloh.
There is plenty of evidence for Mala use.

There is no end to such reasoning and cross questioning against any abhyas done. Tomorrow the very purpose of keeping kes can be questioned . So i personally feel if someone is doing abhyas with x number of paaths or simran there is nothing wrong with it . Everything and anything that does not go accroding to our will we blame the brahmans and brahman vaad ..i dont know how much of Sikhi should we consider that.

This is for the benefit of Sangat only , since many people don't know about this, not for so called "kal-banda".
This is an oral tradition and I am not sure if it can be found in written documents. If someone comes across this , that would be helpful. This maryada of 2 sukhamni sahib paths, 10 japjis, 6 moolmantars malas, waheguru 80 malas were started by the 10th Guru Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj himself. Singhs asked Guru ji that it is difficul to carry around a saroop of Guru Granth Sahib as they are always on horses, how can they benefit from a sehaj path of Guru Sahib. This jugti was given by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
This jugti has since travelled down sampardas.
This bachan was told by Dhan Baba Nand Singh ji & Dhan Baba Ishar Singh Ji kaleran, I heard it in their bachan tapes. Sant Ishar Singh Ji rara sahib also agree with this Jugti.  Not sure about Taksals stance on this.

There were many Sikh Women who were also offered protection from Divine. Bhai Balbir Singh Ji tells story of a Sikh woman, who warded off an angry mob, with the help of Shaheed Singhs. I have relatives in my family who personally have experienced Shaheed Singhs. But since I already know your type, Anti-Sant, Anti-Naam Simran, Dhunda type Missionary people, I am not going to waste my time with you.
Just because Guru Arjan Dev Ji didnt show any power while sitting on hot plate, does not mean that there were no powers ready to offer their services to Him.
Keep your limited thoughts to yourself, and stop breaking devotion.

Bro, you are right above, but one cannot deny that Gurbani is meant for recitation too. Obviously, it makes more sense for a person to understand the Jaap/Mantar, he/she is reciting.

It is said that whoever are the abhyaasis of Naam and Gurbani, their faces will glow and radiate...It was very difficult to look into the eyes of some mahapurakhs... I dont know what is it tht stops people from looking directly into mahapurashs...they say its like trying to look at sun but u cant...Basically they have a strong influence/presence and power in their look.

Not only sukhmani sahib but the whole gurbani will have the same effect...

now tht i reflect back on this topic some of the points may sound like compulsion.

bottom line i think is just read gurbani with prem and jap naam with pyar

    sukhi_v ,
a very good question . All the gurbani is same and has no difference. but still u know there are different banis for different occasions and each bani has its own effect ,

    for eg
if u r a regular nitnemi of lots of japji sahib paths , it helps in getting brahmgyan .

if u do a lot of paths of anand sahib it helps in getting u anand .

if u do chopai sahib it helps in getting u beer ras .

if u do a lot of jap sahib , it helps in increasing ur personalty and ur tej or prakash.

if u do sukhmani , it helps in getting u all the sukkhs , protecting u , meeting u with the sants and then uniting with GOD .
as compared to other banis it is much easier to understand for moorakh bande like us .

and if u do 1 sukhmani sahib da path in whole day , all the 24000 breaths u took during the day will become safal or successfull.

Well for Vit D defeciency you can easily get a hold of supplements, and you put a few drops in your food. Done.
Also not all brown people are equally brown. The wheatish ones can probably go without.

The "all that" is much more difficult to deal with than Vit D. I'm more concerned about "all that" as it ties directly to spirituality and healthy lifestyle as well.

Regarding the earlier discussion on magic. I don't think it's wise to rule out magical explanations all the time. Don't make that the #1 explanation, sure, but certainly have open space for that possibility, in case it arises.

Our education is a certain type of education, one where there is no space for magic. So we are taught from childhood not to believe that stuff and we are given rigid explanations of the universe from authority figures (teachers) citing other authority figures (scientists in textbooks). However magical things do happen, and when they do the "educated" folks usually cannot accept it as the case. They will actively deny what is in front of them because they are so opposed to it.

I mean there are magical stories and anecdotes even in Guru Granth Sahib. We are sikh and we are supposed to read them, understand them, believe them and use them to advance to a higher spiritual level. How does education help understand these stories in Guru Granth Sahib?

It doesn't. In fact, it makes you opposed to them. You get so involved in questioning them that you miss the point of why they are even there to begin with.

This is not the fault of "educating" as a process for learning, which is a good thing. Rather it is the fault of the type of education we are given, a strictly materialistic, rigid, anti-magical, and maybe even anti-spiritual type of education.
