singh1981 got a reaction from Kaur10 in how to remain still in one asan for 3 hrs ?
In my early 20s I could sit in one asana from 2.5 - 3 hours motionless. I had reached a state where no thought existed, time use to stop, breath use to stop for a couple seconds. I dont know what it was. But it was like Sunn. Then I married, kids and for 20 years I was engaged in worldly activities. Now I can hardly sit motionless for 1 hour. I lost all the kamaiye. Good Luck everyone.

    Sadh Sangat Ji,
I don't know what to go into much details, as I am ashamed that I am even writing this. But I want to know what the opinion of the sangat is. Fast forwarding into history. I took Amrit in the early 2000s, later I ate a samosa which had meat in it, possibly halal meat as I was living in a muslim country. I ate it accidentally, thinking that a kurait is already committed I started eating meat.
Moreover, since I was living in a muslim country, I became lax on keeping my kirpan bcoz of all the security hotel, check points that I had to pass through. Eventually frustrated I re-took amrit, but then again ate meat thinking that it is a controversial subject and there is no evidence in Gurmat. After this I got married to a non-amritdhari girl. I again became lazy on keeping my rehat due to sangat. I then moved to Canada and re-took amrit, however as I was working and lack of sangat I did a major mistake cut my beard. This happened several years ago.
Now, this year I suddenly contracted a disease in my body. I came to realize that this disease is caused due to my forgetting of God. Now for several months I have been keeping amrit vela, keeping nitnem and listening to extra banis and extra simran. I want to take amrit and get back into the panth. I hope Guru can forgive me and give me one more chance in this Sikhi school so that I can pass out in my life or maybe perhaps now I am destined to nark or hell. Is there any hope infant of me? I dont want to give full detailed story to panj, as i am ashamed of myself and fear that they will refuse amrit to me.

VERY NICE POSTS. Bro, I have a few questions
    1) All the Sants / Mahapurkhs were Sannyasis --- can we householders become brahm gyani, if the answer is Yes -- then please show me some examples. Don't give example from puritan times. I want examples from Modern times.
    2) Is it possible to attain brahmgyan stage while living in foreign lands such as Canada, Amerika atey UK. Reason I ask is because here dollar and pound is the King and life is extremely worldly, materialistic. Worldly duties get to a very high avastha here, where as in India you can have constant daishan, visits to Gurudwaras and other pavitar asthaans.
    3) Maharaaj Dhan Dhan Baba Nand Singh ji has left physical abode, can we still have his darshan, can he still listen to our prayers?

It is OR, one can choose which ever one is more comfortable! The speed is less relevant than devotion.

Is it important to be brahmcharya after your marriage duties are complete in order to obtain brahm avastha?

singh1981 reacted to SunnySingh in Brahmachari lifestyle
Bramacharaya is a very high state of mind, and for that one has to do a lot of kamaee. It is not just saying I will do so and get it, it is to fight with the mind on the internal level with the weapon of Naam alone.
That is the right weapon to knock out the mind, for with other methods and weapons, the mind can not be subdued, for as seen in the history, it has defeated big rishis, munis and sanyasis.
So to deal properly with this enemy of kaam, one needs the correct weapon, which is His sacred Name as per Bani, all other efforts are futile and a waste of time.
And also do not remain in delusion that being a brahmacaharya is enough to meet Him. What about the other remaining 4 thieves?
So once you use correctly the weapon of Naam to defeat the mind, then not 1, nor 2, or 3 thieves will be defeated, but all the 5 of them , that also at the same time.
As sikhs we are at all not aware of the spiritual wealth given to us through the Bani if applied correctly, we are handcuffed by the blind  and we are guided by them.
We have to free ourselves from all the chains put on us since we are born, and hold tightly to the pure teachings of the paviter Bani, only then can we truly profit ourselves as souls.
Your intentions to get the daat of Naam from a mahapurukh, is the start of the path leading to Him

Living with partner. Partner has no issue on this as partner is also spiritual. I'd like to know if Brahmcharya is necessary to make heaps in spiritual progress.

Thanks for your overall positive message. However, I have heard from many Sants, Brahmgyanis and that extreme bhakti is only possible in youth. In old age the body does not have enough energy to do bhakti. I am now in my 40s. In my 20s I could sit for 2.5 hours in a posture. Now, I cannot sit for more than 1 hour and my legs start hurting.
Also there is a shabad by Bhagat Kabir in SGGS about the same subject.
What do you think, do I have a chance in my 40s?

Thanks once again for the positivity. Do you live in a western country? I am asking this because I am living in one. Do you think brahmgyaan is possible in western country or should I leave back to India. I feel that in India there are more Gurudwaras, more sangat, more brahmgyanis you can visit and hence the opportunities are plenty.

Read a katha somewhere where mahaan brahmgyanis saying that old age is full of illness and young age is the age for meditation and bhakti. I feel I have spent my entire youth in worldly career pursuits and did not spend any time on meditation / bhakti. Now, I feel my entire life has been wasted, bcoz in my early 20s I had extreme passion for bhakti but then due to worldly career pressure I did not pursue. I am now well into my 40s... does this mean by boat has now sailed away and I cannot do the intense bhakti anymore. Can I get udhaar in this lifetime?
Please don't try to give positive answer and try to encourage me. Please give me REAL TRUTHFUL answer, even if it is negative . ..I wanna hear it.
