  1. From a theoretical analysis of the Sikh Militancy during the 1980s, its is interesting to note that Sikh Militant Groups fit almost perfectly in the middle of the extremes of ‘Old Terrorism’ and ‘New Terrorism’. The actions of the Sikh Militants reflect a wider more international evolution in the nature of terrorism. The Sikh Militant Groups retain some definitive characteristics such as a fairly coherent hierarchy, symbolic targets to attack and obviously the nationalistic/religious aims and objectives. During the late 1970s and early 1980s everyone knew who was calling the shots in relation to the militancy and what exactly the demands were – primarily passing of the Anandpur Resolution and certain amendments to for Sikhs to be greater recognised and treated with equality above all else. Also it may be argued that civilian casualties were avoided in the fear of alienating potential sympathisers – a definitive feature of ‘Old Terrorism’. However after 1984 and the shaheedi/ disappearance of Sant Jarnail Singh, the structure and hierarchy of the Sikh Militancy almost fell apart. There were splinter groups forming, chain of command became looser as did the organisational structure. There was no clear cut political agenda (other than perhaps a separate Sikh State) and not really any room for compromise for the two opposing parties (Militants and Government) to reach. Also as is common with ‘New Terrorism’ motivations were ‘religious’. Academics within the the study of International Security and Terrorism widely accept that this leads to; - Self Legitimacy; no need for restraint - Sense of Superiority; no need for restraint - Personal risk and risk to other unimportant due to sacred nature of the ‘mission’ Whilst many civilians surely died earlier, it was in the later parts of Sikh Militancy that civilian casualties increased rapidly – this was a common trend amongst all terrorist/militant groups internationally. I appreciate that many individuals involved in the 70s, 80s and 90s, in what is now popularly known as ‘Da Movement’ amongst our well educate youth, had right intentions and some may be considered as ‘Freedom Fighters’. I personally do respect Sant Jarnail Singh Bhinderanwale immensely; however, as he was a human being he was undoubtedly not perfect and not without fault. However, there have been tremendous elements of outright terrorism involved with the ‘struggle for justice’. It is widely accepted that once civilian casualties increase, freedom struggle loose their legitimacy, for example have a look at the history of the IRA. I don’t dispute that there was a need to stand up against the Indian Government, I do hold true that throughout the history of the Khalsa and its militancy, at no point in history can I recall Singhs killing or kidnapping innocent civilians or in fact killing members of society that indulge in dancing, singing etc. Also, during the 90s a female member of my close family was taken by so called ‘freedom fighters’ after they ate roti at by Bhoa’s (Dads sisters) house, as they left the village, villagers were lined up along the road and the militants said if the police tried following them they would shoot all the villagers. I refuse to call such people freedom fighters regardless of their cause or objectives. However, to reiterate I do greatly respect and appreciate the effort of some Singhs who righteously fought for righteousness. What is the point in fighting for Dharam if the war is not going to abide by the laws of dharam. The closest thing that academics in this field of study have the notion of ‘Dharamyudh’ is the ‘Just War Criteria.’ I would call the Indian Government and Punjab Authorities terrorists during the 80s and 90s, perhaps even now. But why would I say to get rid of one group of terrorists just so another group of terrorists would come to power? Personally I feel Sikh Militancy may have started with great intentions and with a righteous cause. I respect those who are willing to die in the name of freedom, however, I loathe those who are willing to kill innocent people in the name of freedom. The Sikh Militancy reflects the wider evolution of international terrorism leading academics to distinguish between New and Old Terrorist groups. After civilian casualties began increasing 'Da Movement' undoubtedly lost its support from a lot of Punabis. Of coure it goes without saying; one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. There is little objective definitions that seperae the two, they are based on sujective understanding dependant on various factors - be they personal, social, economic, political..... etc.
  2. Freed if you ever find out how to tie the doria on the kirpan the way the nihang singhs do it please do let me know, i to have great difficulty in making mines perfect. Nice pictures.
  3. What happened to the post about the Nihang Singh factions clashing - it seems to have disappeared :?:
  4. Erm... im not surprised he was arrested for possessing 15 kilos of explosives.
  5. Although Most AKJ followers do no accept dasam bani, i think the official view of the AKJ is that the Dasam Granth was written by Guru Gobind Singh. There is a AKJ Giani who is part of a human rights committee set up to take legal action against those who write against dasam granth. Also, I believe Bhai Randheer Singh quotes a lot of Dasam BAni, including Uggardanti, in his works. However, it is certainly true that most AKJs, ignorant even to the works of their founder, harbour strong anti dasam granth feelings.
  6. Whats wrong with symbolism? I think pretty much any religous act that someone can form holds a degree of symbolism in it... bowing down, offering money, reading scripture (gurbani) etc To understand why milk and yoghurt are used it is imporatnt to know of shastar pooja traditions. Shastar are supposed to be washed with kachee lassi, as noone can be bothered mixing the diee and milk together to make lassi they just cover it in diee then pour milk over it. Thats my understanding.
  7. I dont know why people think democracy is such a good thing, most political researchers and academics would tell you it probabt has more flaws than benefits. Its Liberal Democratic idealism which proposes that democracies are the pinnacle of human being evolution. It seems many Sikhs blindly believe in the theory of democracy and as they like it so much beleive that its what maharaj ould have used. Whilst there is certainly a degree of acountability within the Khalsa Panth, the existence of a hierarchy within an army (what the Khalsa essentially is) is of the upmost importance for its efficiency. The relationship between Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and Sri Guru Panth Sahib Ji must be understood, as well as the important notion of 'Panj Pyarai', the importance of Jathedar and role of the masses. Unfortunately, all of these have been somewhat perverted with the introduction neo-skh paradigms within Sikhi. In short, democracy is usually pretty sh*t and doesnt really have a role in Sikhi.
  8. Any idea what Baba Ji holding in their hands in the first picture? And who are they sitting beside in the second picture? Thanks.
  9. Due to all the match fixing going on I think either Ireland or Bangladesh will win.
  10. Just got this book this morning, looking forward to going through it
  11. Dass proposes cease fire between Khalsa Police forces worldwide so that we can come together and defeat the anti panthic force - Neo, Tsingh and others who want to marry hindu santanis. As Dass has stated on previous posts, daas thinks with maharaj kirpa its time for jihad against the dushts of the panth.
  12. I think its time for some serious Jiiiiiiihad !!!!!! p.s. daas humbly accepts seva for keeping neos laptop because dass is the humblest of all.
  13. BNP If you move the B in the middle and replace the N with an F and remove the circulaed shape from the P you get an I - this the BNP is thus an inside connotation for the FBI - and American governmental organisation seeking to clamp down on Islam and Sikhi. Daas knows this because daas did lots of naam japp and abhiyas with kirpa of maharaj and realised what was going on an a deep state of trance this amritvela. I advice the sangat to stay away from Guv (if that is his real name) and BNP activities. As well as working for the American government Guv is largely involved with the BNP, many beleive that 'guv' is short for 'governor' and thus highlighting guvs intrincic role within anti panthic organisation, for more info please type BNP into your google search engines. The reference to the Nuking in BNP is related to the obsession of the American govenment seeking to find weapons of mass destruction. the BNP is thus a dually controlled organised trained by the FBI and funded by the British Nationalist Party to merge Sikhi into western ideals such. Daas will soon present more fatcs and strong evidence to the sangat about guv and his intentions. It is likely that Guv is working with Neo on confusing the real sikhs and thus explaining his attempt to disguise Neos beadbi and throwing false accusations on the super duper pavan pavitter SSF. I would also like to let the sangat know that neo has attacked the R4G resulting in the 'Respect for thr R4G campaign' being formed.
  14. ATTENTION !!! On behalf of the sangat I issue Neo with a warning for prmomiting Hinduism and its ways on this Sikh forum. Where admins fail to provide justice, us chardi kala tyar bur tyar Gursikhs shall assure the protection of the people and their minds. If Neo persits in propogation of Hinduism, then the sangat shall collectively overthrow the admins and their evil ways, following from which there will be a new admin (i.e. malwe da sher) and a sub committee of members to monitor anti sikh activities worldwide!!! Alternatively the forum will become property of common ownsership, however again daas will accept seva of being jathedar. Could the admins please take this warning issued on behalf of the 'peoples police' and the 'Sangat Security Force' (SSF) seriously and mend there ways according and thus avoiding a military coup resulting in regime change. Power to the People - SSF 8)
  15. Dude read my post lol, i mentioned 2. Or atleast to a google search. apparently Bibi/Baba Jagir Kaur is considered as a saint by some, she even has her own dera. theres a santani called bibi Gurpreet Kaur who spends most of her time in America. I dont really know anything about her, met one of her sevadars on the train on the way to Hazoor SAhib.
  16. Veerji i think its important to add that such groups are RSS, funded by the Indian Government, trained by FBI, supproted by CNN news network and work in collaboration with ABC123 - a new lethal organisation aiming to end Sikhi as we know it.They also have a sponsorship deal with NASA who provide them with travel to go beyond the seas , oceans and skies to meet these bhagats.
  17. I would love to take credit, however all praise must go to my ustad under whos years of patience and teaching I have been able to share such divine knowledge with the sadh sangat. It took me a while to understand it, my ustad kept telling me to interpret some things literally after years of bhagti I was able to accomplish this and reach the avasta of which so few have reached. With the power invested in me by God I am able to see through the non existent lines which do not need reading between and see things for what the really are, in the highest state of reality. Anyway Guv think about it for a few years and do ardas for maharaj to give you guidance. Study ancient Sikh, Vedic and perhaps Islamic scriptures very closely and you may begin to understand, of course maintian high level of bhati throught your strive for knowledge. Seek to understand and if after 5 years you have failed to get your head round it ... PM me. I was once at your level of understanding Guv, by defeating ego I am able to see and experience how you are feeling about your lack of understanding of divine philosophical concepts. Dont worry, I am sure maharaj will bestow their maha kirpa on you.
  18. Well you have now There are three requirements for someone to be a female Hindu Saint. 1. Female -They must be female. 2. Hindu - They are likely to be assoicated with one of the 6 'Hindu' Philsophies 3. Saint - They do saintly stuff such as bhagti, seva, parchar etc If someone was to meet the requirements set out above it is likely they would be classed as a 'Hindu Female Saint' - not rocket science I suppose or 'Guru Maa' would be considered by most as falling into that category, however I think I may have heard somewhere that she recieved her learning from nirmala samprada - I aplologise if I am wrong. Another example: "Shree Maa' http://www.amazon.com/Shree-Maa-Swami-Saty...i/dp/1887472495
  19. something one of my tutors emailed me, the last one is probably the best. Enjoy PURE DEMOCRACY You have two cows. Your neighbours decide who gets the milk. > REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. Your neighbours pick someone to tell you who gets the milk. BRITISH DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. You feed them sheep brains and they go mad. The government doesn't do anything. AMERICAN DEMOCRACY: The government promises to give you two cows if you vote for it. After the election, the president is impeached for speculating in cow futures. The press dubs the affair "Cowgate". BUREAUCRACY: You have two cows. At first the government regulates what you can feed them and when you can milk them. Then it pays you not to milk them. Then it takes both, shoots one, milks the other and pours the milk down the drain. Then it requires you to fill out forms accounting for the missing cows. FEUDALISM: You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk. FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them, and sells you the milk. PURE SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else's cows. You have to take care of all the cows. The government gives you a glass of milk. BUREAUCRATIC SOCIALISM: Your cows are cared for by former chicken farmers. You have to take care of the chickens the government took from the chicken farmers. The government gives you as much milk and eggs the regulations say you should need. TOTALITARIANISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and denies they ever existed. Milk is banned. DICTATORSHIP: You have two cows. The government takes both and drafts you. PURE COMMUNISM: You share two cows with your neighbours. You and your neighbours bicker about who has the most "ability" and who has the most "need". Meanwhile, no one works, no one gets any milk, and the cows drop dead of starvation. RUSSIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk. You steal back as much milk as you can and sell it on the black market. CAMBODIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. The government takes both and shoots you. AMERICAN CORPORATISM: You have two cows. You sell one, lease it back to yourself and do an IPO on the 2nd one. You force the two cows to produce the milk of four cows using Bioengineered hormones. You lobby an ignorant Congress so as to make sure that you do not have to label your milk products - even if they cross state lines. You are surprised when one cow drops dead, but you work out a deal so that you can sell it to a renderer - and feed it back to your herd. Some of the older second-cycle cows cannot be impregnated - while others deliver twins - that have to killed and sold for a pittance... You spin an announcement to the analysts stating you have downsized and are reducing expenses. Your stock goes up. FRENCH CORPORATISM: You have two cows. You go on strike because you want three cows. You go to lunch. Life is good. JAPANESE CORPORATISM: You have two cows. You redesign them so they are one-tenth the size of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk. They learn to travel on unbelievably crowded trains. Most are at the top of their class at cow school. GERMAN CORPORATISM: You have two cows. You engineer them so they are all blond, drink lots of beer, give excellent quality milk, and run a hundred miles an hour. Unfortunately they also demand 13 weeks of vacation per year. RUSSIAN CORPORATISM: You have two cows. You count them and learn you have five cows. You have some more vodka. You count them again and learn you have 42 cows. You count them again and learn you have 12 cows. You stop counting cows and open another bottle of vodka. You produce your 10th 5-year plan in the last 3 months. The Mafia shows up and takes however many cows you really have. ITALIAN CORPORATISM: You have two cows but you don't know where they are. While ambling around, you see a beautiful woman. You break for lunch. Life is good. COUNTER CULTURE-ISM: Wow, dude, there's like... these two cows, man. You got to have some of this milk. SURREALISM: You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons. FEMINISM: You have 2 cows. The cows object to you opening the gate and tapping them on the backside when taking them from the field to the barn. The cows hire a tort lawyer and end up milking you.
