I think anyone who has read a range of purataan stuff and isn't biased will realise that strictly, halal was prohibited. That isn't to say there weren't Singhs who were vegetarian and promoted this.
There is a range of sources that go both ways. The purported hukam nama from Guru Hargobind Ji maharaj. The hukam namas of Banda Singh and some rahits being pro veg. But also, there is a lot of evidence of shikaar and jhatka too.   

But when I read about the views of some Nihang Singh online articles, they mention that jhatka is only for Singhs or warriors, and should regular people should just be vegeterian.
But I am unsure if this is the view of all Nihang Singhs. As when we look at the times of the first 5 Gurus, jhatka and hunting didn't seem to be limited to just warriors only!

Here is the extract from Sri Sooraj Prakash Granth, which talks about Sri Satguru jee (Tenth Master) consuming goat meat and throwing the bones.

So this whole thread, what does that mean for most modern styles of keertan performed by keertanis? Isn't most of the keertan we hear "bhangra" keertan, as opposed to Raag. And especially one jatha comes to mind, their so-called keertan is really dancy, like people in the sangat are rocking their heads front and back and side-to-side, and the keertanis are trying to be like rockstars?
Is most of keertan not performed in Raag bringing sangat into this mentality anyway, into bhangra/gidha mentality, or dare I say most modern keertan styles came from bhangra/gidha manmatt?
Isn't a big fix to bhangra/gidha actually performing raag keertan? 
At the moment, both harmonium keertan and modern bhangra/punjabi music tunes are sub-par compared to the standard set by Guru jis playing Raag keertan using the instruments Guru jis provided to us, instruments which the panth seems to have just thrown to the side...
Since there is so much manmatt towards sikh keertan, this topic should not be surprising at all....

if we could revive our traditions, and have groups of Singhs going hunting, and practising shastar such as going to the shooting range, or archery ranges, or going horse riding, also learning wrestling etc etc ... if we could do this then many sikhs may not go to the route of needing to go into these gangs

A committee should look at all the common traditional sources of vocab from other languages, e.g. Prakrit, Sanskrit, Farsi, Turkish langs, Hindi etc and decide and make this uniform 
But hardly any Panjabi I know speaks without mixing some English words either consciously or subconsciously

That's a great idea. I think given weapon restrictions in the UK, this could be more easily implemented in the US and Canada.

It's mostly cultists that start sentences off with "Bhai Randhir Singh said this   .... " or "Gursikhs like Bhai Randhir Singh were .... " etc.
But "Purataan Singhs like Bhai Randhir Singh" is a new one.

There are archery clubs for public to join. There are shooting ranges that just need some kind of form to fill, no need for ownership of any guns.

actually the NHS and probably other country's health organisations cheated and lied. A lot of people died from other causes, but positive covid results were added on falsely. I am unsure what the benefits for doing this were, but it must be some monetary corruption.

People are talking about setting up jhatka orgs in India, that needs to be global. 

bumping after pandemic lockdowns, and term 2 is about to start in the uk for 2021/2022

Would SWAT be able to help as well, since they do langar for the poor on the streets?
