You talking about Laala jees stealing money, what about our own equivalents like Badals who do the same...with religious donations no less.
Anyway if you watch the video the guy makes the point that the sum is not of importance, it's more symbolic of Brits owning up to the negativity of colonialism - I think this is of monumental importance given how imperialism and cultural and racial  supremacism plays such a key role in the Brit identity many whites here have. They'd have us believe that we should be happy being subordinate to them, taking on the 'white man's burden' given half a chance.

And I don't care about how many Panjabi farmers benefited from being their henchmen -  before some son of a pendu plays that card - that don't make it right.
This owning up to, and acknowledging the evil of empire is even more important in a modern context where Brits have recently tried to resurrect their 'glory days' with messed up attempts at foreign occupation (Iraq anyone!) which has blown up in their face and has caused innumerable deaths and mad instability in the regions they have interfered with trying to make a grab for oil.

I think debate/discussions are positive, but just anticipate some people turning up and playing the usual  clutching their handbags to their chests aghast 'nindak' card. lol
It was all the negativity about the DG that caused me to look at it in more detail - I love it now. So that was a bit of an own goal for all the anti-DG brigade.

This is really starting to get odd.
So you create a topic, - make a claim that this particular granth supports you.. But before you are going to engage further, you start making demands before things can proceed? What??????
Just scan it and lets proceed... Give people the opportunity to see what the sakhi says

This is getting childish. Are you playing games or are you being for real? So you say that this sakhi backs up your view, yet you aint gonna post it. Instead you post some english article that summaries it. We need the real deal otherwise there is no point. Its like you saying "This granth in this archive in India backs up my claim.. Now go find it and we shall discuss it afterwards".

Did you open this topic to debate?? How are we gonna debate it if there is no text for us to discuss? I dont think all readers have the book so do them a favour and scan the pages or insert the lines like Bhagat Singh and I did in the Bansavalinama thread.

Mr Singh Ji, "if i admit" ??? Admit what? I don't need to admit anything, because some of the bani in Dasam Granth has the source already quoted such "Chandi Charitrar being the translation of Sri Markendya Puran".
You would know this if you bothered to look into it, instead of following dhunda.
The problem isn't that Sikhs beleive these words to be the original thoughts of Guru Sahib. The problem is people like you and that liar Asatkiran, who prefer to attach themselves like parasites onto people who know very little themselves.

Maharaj used examples from other Hindu granths but also wrote his own pure bani in Sri charitarpkhyian such as Sri chaupi sahib and a lot more. These Hindu granths were not available to lower castes and were in different languages and maharaj Ji wanted his Sikhs and the world to know what is written in granths. The lower caste could not say raam! They had to say Maar instead and if a lower caste did say raam they would have their tounge cut off by Hindu Brahmins. If the lower caste read any hindu Granth they would have taken out their eyes. If the lower caste listened to any Hindu Granth hot wax would be put in their ears. The guru translated a lot of the Hindu granths cause he wanted the lower caste to know about those granths. He wanted his Sikhs regardless of caste to have knowledge of other religions granths as well. Remember maharaj Ji sent Singhs to kanshi to learn about the Vedas etc. Guru Ji also gave his opinion a lot in chaubis avatar and wrote a lot in Sri charitarpkhyian which is dhur ki bani (for example chaupi sahib etc)
The Sri dasam Granth is all written by maharaj Ji and he included his own dhur ki bani and translations and all of it should be respected.

Also a majority of Sikhs that you say don't believe in Sri charitarpkhyian are people who aren't amritdhari. So your point is invalid.
mrsingh if you are afraid of kaam vale tuks then take out all kaam vale tuks in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji cause there are a lot of them. Mrsingh if you are afraid of Hindu stories then you should take out all the Hindu stories in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Do what teja bhasuria did and make your own Granth cause you clearly have a lot of phobias.

    It's white feminism.

Because they've been majorly suppressed by white men (like a lot of people have....), and Abrahamic faiths - which blame the whole fall of mankind (no less) as the result of some women's weakness (Eve and apple), they have become allergic to seeing ANYTHING written about women that doesn't represent them as perfect, angelic, wholesome, victims.
Like women are incapable of seduction, or have never used their wiles to get what they want. Like women are incapable of strong feelings of lust.....
Having brought Euro-white men to their knees, they think they can now expand their shit onto other communities - and they DON'T LIKE Charitriopakyaan, because it smashes open an element of male and female interpersonal dynamics that they don't feel is flattering. What they don't get is that the work highlights men's weaknesses and gullibility as much as women's.

Our own phudhoos hatred of it probably stems from deeply internalised Victorian 'morality' that they've imbibed from Europeans.

It was mainly 'high-caste' Hindus that were anti-Khalsa for obvious vested interest reasons. The later, widespread generalised anti-Sikh stance from Hindus became normalised under colonialism.
And it is silly to suggest that the Moghuls were some pushover for the Khalsa; they pushed Singhs hard; if you don't have correct knowledge look up Bhangu's Panth Prakash and read for yourself.

Back in the 1700s the Singhs probably even are insects in the jungles. Right now our people are like god damn Brahmins and are scared shitless. They still have these stories of Singhs eating chickpeas etc (which might be true in some instances) but we all know that the Singh had to eat meat. If I had to live in the jungles I too will hunt and fish cause that's how the old Singhs survived.
Our people are too much about shanti and bhagti and not much about shiv shakti.

Just saw the video; it was spot on in my eyes.

It's interesting how I'm increasingly feeling a bit uneasy when the topic of colonialism pops up these days because of the realisation that our own people (especially the rural pendu farmers) played such a big role in propping it up.

I think that legacy of an inferiority complex towards whites and deeply rooted, even murderous antipathy between Panjabis of different faiths is are just some of the profound ways in which the experience has shaped our society for the worse. Most of us here will be aware of the vast sums and treasures transferred from Panjab to the UK after the annexation. These goray sent us back to some rural dark age, and we are still struggling to get out of it to this day.

A little third party insight into the type of shit our people were supporting....

Firstly why is there cheating happening ?
Is it due to , poor teaching standards
    Poor facilities
I have heard and seen in the past other students taking exams for other students for a fee
Is it money oriented , i.e. teachers want money so that they can help students pass
Plus who would want to go to some one especially studying medicine who have passed by cheating , i know i wouldnt .
I think you would need to look at the root cause , for them cheating and then take the necessary precautions.

To be fair Satkiran, you're just doing the same. picking and choosing to suit your point. You want to use the SRM to prove your point? Fine . then do you agree Guru Granth sahib Ji allows eating of meat?
The problem with using the SRM verbatim is that it tells us to only bow to Guru Granth Sahib Ji, yet tells us to believe completely in the bani of the ten Gurus. So:
    - if dasam bani is accepted then we should bow to it as it us the Guru's bani. To make a distinction between the two is the same as saying the First and the Tenth were not the same.
    - if we do not accept it, we break rehat.
Therefore, just holding on to SRM will in itself undermine your whole argument, and leave you with a logical falicy
