OK, so you are in effect saying that Men have a different role in this world than women ?
Meaning, that women have an EXTRA duty to worship their husband ? and husband has a non-respecting/sit-back/easy ride ??........isn't that islam ???
How does this really make sense to you ?...

    See!! Gurbani is NEVERRRRR contradicting!
In Gurbani,it's pronounced as Jeev istri/female soul/"she" at many times ,so does it mean that it's  valid only for females ? No! There is a central message in each tuk!
Same here! Tuks you've provided or discussed go in same ways.
Taking human incarnation into consideration, there Word " Husband" has been used. And you know there were no any person's personal views in any gurbani tuk, that's totally divine/straight from cosmic sounds of sachkhand. So in GENERAL ,husband word is used at most places. It does not mean that word "WIFE" doesnt exsist at all.It means opposite partner of a particular one.Try to get the core idea!
First of all, husband word is only for WAHEGURU/SUPREME OF ALL MIGHTIES/OUR ONLY PARTNER HERE AND AFTER!
AND JUST LET if that's been used for reference of physical husband(of marriage lol),then  there that indicates husband for a female and wife for a male.So that goes both sides!
Kaho Nanak jin preyo parmeshar kar janeya
    Dhan Satee Dargeh parwaneya||
Here gurbani states to see our true husband(who is none other than our true satguru) as GOD as parbraham! Then she is the true satee who shall be saved at this hands ! Here it goes to both males and females. Both are ought to accept our husband/satpursh/satguru as almighty/greatest of all/GOD.
Okay!! Let if we take it in terms of physical husband as constituent of marriage, then
Here meaning comes out as No one(whether male or female) can be a satee by burning herself/himself in fire ,only those can be called who have served their husbands(for females) /wives(for males) as God.As God means greatest mighty /supreme of alk,in same manner here GOd word indicates that highest position in this physical life of physical world. So Gurbani says"when we talk about this physical world(just excluding that spiritual concept of only waheguru) then here one person is ordered to see his/her spouse to be greater than anyone else in his/her life. That's just a general message for entire manhood.
So for a female only his husband deserves that special place as they are physically one now and vice versa!
So here That's not only for a man or woman!,That's for a human soul being in a body !

I dont think if they are as bad as meat or egg farms .In india ,Dairy farms are like homes of Farm men especially in Punjab. There cows and buffaloes are provided with all adequate and nutritious diet and are cared with all possible measures. What kinda cruelity you are talking about? I've seen people loving their cattles and taking care of them as their babies.

I really feel for the brothers and sisters in Punjab
You go to the Police .... they are corrupt
You go to the politicians .... they are corrupt
You go to the jatedars .... they are corrupt
You protest peacfully .... you are stopped and killed
Where do they go for justice ????????
The police suppose to be the peaceful mediators , rather they are instigating and retaliating to violence
The sad thing is the majority of the Police have distaars , dont they feel any remorse towards the fellow Sikh brothers and sisters and the beadbi to dhan dhan sri gur granth sahib ji, are their jobs that important that they cant see right from wrong ? If they were at all decent , they would put down their weapons, take off their uniform and tell the Badal clan , we are not your puppets and rebel , the sangat will then take care of them...no doubt.
    so sad

It's not about ethical treatment of animals, it's about what's is (spiritually) lawful and unlawful to eat.
If you pay attention to how the animal is treated than naturally you will incur even less karma from your diet, but first the basics should be correct right?

sukrit kaur reacted to Xylitol in Power of Khalsa Women vs. Mir Mannu
    Super brave Khalsa Women.
Without any doubt, Sikh women had played an equal part in the struggle to keep alive the Khalsa ideals and beliefs. Sikh women worked as a silent majority in the background and sometimes as in the case of Mai Bhago exceeded the Khalsa men in warfare. But the most important part of Khalsa women was to raise the Khalsa children who kept the Khalsa alive. In Punjabi society, most often children hear stories by their grandmother, mother, aunts, etc. This builds up their character.
    Mir Mannu's holocaust:
Sikhs are moved in a large pincer movement to the edge of a river
and then slaughtered. About 40,000 Sikhs were killed
Chhote Sahibzade, (youngest two sons of Guru Gobind Singh) were raised on the stories of sacrifices of their great grandfather Guru Arjan Dev ji, their grandfather Guru Tegh Bahadur by their grandmother Mata Gujri ji(mother of Guru Gobind Singh ji, Tenth guru). When their turn came they happily sacrificed their lives, eventhough they were only 7 and 9 years old. This alone was the most amazing, glorious, sad and defining moment of the future of Sikhs. Seven and Nine years old were following the Will of God as dictated by Guru Nanak dev ji. After this incident, Sikh women, men, children put their whole effort to save their ideals and beliefs of Guru Nanak.
Mughals had two points of administration in Punjab, Sarhind and Lahore. Mughals who ruled from Delhi appointed two governors at Sarhind and Lahore, under these governors there were many Nawabs, like Malerkotla, Faridkot, Bahawalpur, etc,. Under the Nawabs there were many Parganahs i.e. Zamindars, or landlords who would hold many villages as their land, on these villages farmers, ironsmith, carpenters, etc work and were taxed 67% of their income.
Question - If your children were taken from you..... ripped apart in front of your eyes.....
Then their bodies were cut up and strung around your neck.....
Would you continue to remember your Guru?
Try and understand how strong and magnificent these Mothers and Daughters of the Khalsa Panth were.....
In the first half of the 18th century, state terrorism against the Sikhs was on the steady increase and was intensified by Mir Mannu. In 1748, the Mughals appointed Mir Mannu as Governor (Subedar) of Lahore and also as a Nawab of Multan (1748-1753).
Male Sikhs were offered a choice of either islam or death.
    None chose islam
In order to pacify Hindus, Mir Mannu appointed a Khatri Hindu of Lahore named Kaura Mall as his diwan or minister. He then ordered 30,000+ army of mughals at Lahore to finish the Sikhs. The mughal army swept the countryside and killed many of the Sikhs they found. By now, the faith of the common people in Sikhi and the strength of the Khalsa had increased tremendously. Despite Mannu's extreme torture and reign of terror, nothing could deter the Sikhs. A Panjabi folk song of that period goes like this in English:
We are the plants and Mannu a sickle,
    But by now, everyone knows,
The more he cuts us, the more we grow

This is the time when the army of Mir Mannu was going from house to house searching for Sikhs. Many of the Sikhs took shelter in jungles but some Sikhs who were living with their families in the cities and could not just leave right away or join any jathas. They were captured by the army and all were being sent to Lahore. Most of the prisoners were Sikh women and children.
Many of the old women were killed on the way because they were weak and could not walk for a long time. All of the Singhni's and their children were put in Lahore jail.
At that time Sikh population was so small that it affected their numbers. A decade earlier, when similar thing had happened (governor had decided to kill all Sikhs) At that point people thought that all Sikhs are finished, but Bhai Gharjha Singh and Bhai Bota Singh came out of hiding and fought with Mughals, just to show them that Sikhs were far from finished.
Everyday muslims would come and taunt them by saying "where is your Khalsa now? They can’t even come to rescue you. All of them have been killed by the army. So it is better for you to accept Islam and live a rich happy life." Singhnis never ever thought of leaving Sikhi. They kept reciting "Waheguru Dhan Guru Waheguru Waheguru". The sacrifice of the Khalsa women that was so great that it became a part of Daily Ardas.
Sikh Women in Mir Mannu's Death Camps grinding flour
Mir Mannu started deploying his terror tactics. First of all, he ordered that all Sikh women in Jails to be provided with specially made mill stones to be three times heavier (1 1/4 Mann) than normal (a flour grinding instrument named Chakki). Sikh women would happily sing the Shabads of Nanak and grind flour the whole day but did not accept conversion to islam as the condition for their freedom.
Every woman was given forty pounds of grain to grind for each day in jail. A very heavy stone was placed on the chest of those who could not grind. They were given just a bowl of water and a quarter of a piece of bread to eat in a single day.
The muslims then started killing the innocent children by throwing them up in the air and landing them on sharp spears. One soldier would throw a child up in the air and another soldier would spear the child before the child hit the ground. The dead bodies of these children were cut into pieces and the ladies were garlanded with those pieces. Pieces of flesh of the children were thrust into the mouths of their mothers.
Mir Mannu then ordered that all of the infant Sikhs who were with their mothers at the jail were to be executed immeadiately. Only those to be spared were those who converted to islam. More than 300 infant Sikhs were killed by Mughals and their dead bodies given back to their Khalsa mothers, not a single mother embraced Islam. The women's children were fixed on javelins before their very eyes. Their children were cut into pieces and garlands of those pieces were put around their mother's necks. But the faith of Sikh women was unshakable.
Miri Manu Slaughtering Sikh Woman And Children
One of the women was very beautiful and Qazi wanted to marry her. He would come everyday and try to convince her to accept him but she never did. She had a son who was less than two years old. One day upon leaving, qazi gave orders to some of the army men to torture her and her son so she would give up her faith. One night the cruel animals (men) tied her up first and then started torturing her son.
The muslim soldiers hung her son upside down, took a knife and started to cut into his flesh from the neck all the way down to stomach. Singhni kept calm and kept praying "Guru Ji, Jaan Jayai par Dharam Na Jaayai". Then they slowly cut her son into pieces and he became shaheed. Then they started beating the Singhni with sticks and "chabuks". After a while the Singhni passed out. They hung her upside down and left. She stayed that way all night. In the morning they took her down but she was unable to get up and walk. She lay there by the wall, did Nitnem and then did ardaas:
"Sacchay Paatshah Ji, Saari Raat Aap De Bhanay tay Sukh Naal Beetee Hai. Aap ji da kotaan kot shukar hai, aap jee nay aapnee amanat vaapas lai layee hai. Aggay waastay vee bhanay vich chalan da uddam ball bakhsis karna. Daata Ji, praan jayai par Sikhi na jayai. Mehar karni"
Sikh infants were cut into pieces and garlands of those pieces were put around their mother's necks
Hearing this some of the guards were shocked and wondering what Sikhs were made up of? Some of the guards left their jobs by saying "These Sikhs are deeply religous and are not evil. We cannot torture these innocent souls. Even their women and children are so strong and brave. If they continue like this they will rule Punjab one day." Some of the fanatic muslims were enraged by this. They started to torture the woman again. A heavy weight was put on her body and her bones were crushed. They hit her with sticks. After so much torture she became shaheed but she never gave up her faith. The only words that came out of her mouth was "Waheguru Waheguru".
The atrocities committed on the Sikh women by the upholders of "islam" were so great that in 1750 Chief of Buddha Dal, Kapur Singh Virk and his 500 Khalsa attacked Lahore in disguise of a Sufi Saints to kill Mir Mannu but he escaped.
In 1753 Mir Mannu died a very horrible death and suffered greatly. In 1753 Kapur Singh Virk attacked Lahore again and this time he was able to free all the prisoners at these jails.
The sacrifice of these Khalsa women was so great that it became a part of Daily Ardas in 1760's and is still part of the Ardas (daily prayer) to this day.
Everyday Sikhs pay homage to the "Singhnian jinna ne sawa sawa mann de pisne peese, bachiye de tota galean vich pavaye, par Dharm na haariya". Sikh Women who happily grinded 60 kg Chakki, had to put garlands of the dead bodies of their children around their necks but did not reject the teachings of Nanak. This is the proud heritage of the Sikhs and Sikh Women! Our mothers, our sisters, our daughters, our pride and our inspiration!

Our problems come from the fact that there are way too many of us. We destroy large habitats to make larges spaces for us to live. The largest destruction of land of animals and plants comes from us, through mere existence.

And there is no way to feed such a large population except through factory farming. Google some of these factory farm videos to see how horrible those conditions are.

Habitat destruction is a bigger issue. Controlling human population is the answer.

We have to give lekha for everything. We have to give lekha for the air we breathe, for the many microorganisms we destroy, for the water we drink, for the milk we drink, for the plants we kill and for the animals we kill.

Killing animals is a greater lekha than killing plants. So as per sant mahapurash, killing animals will have a greater karmic effect than just killing plants.

There is a lekha for everything, we cannot escape, it is scary. The only time we dont give lekha is when our mind is engrossed in simran ( in simple terms). And how many times does that happen ?

So it is better to not incur so much lekha that we have to become a goat. hen etc just to get our throats slit.

Only those who themselves have reached the turiya pad etcetc can talk about such high things, because they dont incur lekha.

For dumb people like us, it is better we just follow what has been advised by the mahapurakhs and sants, instead of using our own intelligence or interpretation.

But remember there is a lekha for everything, for the plants, for the grains, for the milk and for the meat. choice is ours.

N30 I know where you are coming from however Gur Granth Sahib is pretty clear that one should not kill life. There are enough shabads that say this.
Bhagat Kabir says taking a life by force is Adharam. Any time a human, animal, insect or a plant is killed, we put suffering out there.

And yes I said plant. Many vegetarians forget that certain plants are killed for their nutrition. Like sugarcanes, carrots, onions, etc. But not all plants need to be killed for you to obtain nutrition and not all diets require killing.

*oops* Okay! No Things are not like this in Sikhism! I'm sure other members too dont think so.I think it's just a misunderstanding. and about husband -wife relations ,I think you should  read english translation of Anand karaj for that..
And A Wife must respect her husband for obvious reasons and a husband must also do so.And a good wife and husband will never deny to do so.
And penji though women have started working/learning martial skills or things like that, but still some women are not able to face some situations alone.I mean Take example of myself.I'm not physically strong enough.Lol!
So I think it's just a great ritual to hold husband's palla as husband is promising his wife to take care of her in all possible situations.Though we are holding Guru Sahib's palla to carry us across this world ocean, but still we are living in a society,we are living in a physical world. So there husband is promising(as he is gifted with all physical traits from almighty),so I think it's a beautiful act.Isn't it??
So ,Respecting Husband doesnt signify inferiority or superiority. It just simply signifies respect /true respect for being her security man.And Respecting Wife signifies respect for all her contributions. So same goes on both sides.
And All Guru were males not because females are inferior. It's because some situations/some conditions /some reasons do not support a female being a preacher, being a Guru,Being a leader. You know some things are out of our approach/our understanding. So,I think it's okay for women to do Naam kamai/to be bhagats/to lead life of a sant/but what we called Guruship means taking command of something in own's hand has not seen in past so far.Imagine Guru Teg bahadur Ji were there to give his head when needed. He simply agreed to accept the punishment.Imagine(stopping my filthy tongue inside),If there was a female Guru and then ???????..anything could happen!Dhan Guru Sahib Baksh lo!
And It has been already discussed about women's purity.Guru Nanak Dev Ji maharaj has cleared everything. So Nothing like this in sikhism.

Obviously everyone wants a male body, its the easiest of all three you  mentioned. Who wants to deal with bloody mess every months, who wants to bleed & pee in the same vicinity, who wants to go through the pain of childbirth, etc.  However, being a mother is the greatest thing ever, it elevates the status of woman to a divine entity. Even God bowed to a woman, in form of Guru Nanak to Mata Tripta jee, and the women who gave birth to Sants Mahapurakhs are DHan!!!
But it does not mean that Manukh only means Man in Gurbani.
It is actually said that Females have a higher chance of union with God due to the hardships that they face during life childbirth, being a mother, devout to her family, and due to her excessive emotions which if turned into Prema Bhagti is a faster track to union with Almightly. However, the same emotions if turned negative can be disastrous like jealousy or excessive attachment . This is just anecdotal evidence , not from Gurbani.

You have asked them? How do you know? Why would they want a defective body incapable of creating life (without a female) and being ruled by a hormone (testosterone) that causes obstacles to salvation like anger, lust, rage, violence etc. ?? Female body is the one which is more closely tuned to spirituality.

Animals live through instinct, so it's very difficult for them to have ego, when they do not possess self-awareness like we do.  They are more tuned to a species consciousness (google the monkey experiment on the island where they learned how to wash potatoes and you will have a real life example of it).  So no... animals do not have Ego like we do.  Everything they do is for survival and instinct driven.

Devi/devtay and animals are Bhog Jooni  whereas Human is a Karam Jooni.
So the instruction of Guru applies to someone who can actually do Karam. Thus a Human being. A Human can work for his salvation whereas animals or devi devtay are dependent on others.
Even the devi/devatay want a human body.   jis dehi ko simreh dev so dehi bhaj har ki sev :  The human body for which the gods/goddesses thirst, use that human body to do simran

Paapiman, by your deduction of Sant Jis words, Ego has been given to men.  What about women ? They dont have ego ?No,  Women have ego too.
So in the above shabad, word Manukh refers to both men and women. Because Gurbani cannot contradict itself.
Hence, the word Manukh should be used in the context of Human Being only.
Sant Ji said Manukh mean Man, I do not diasgree. But it does not mean that it cannot mean human being.
