    Well brother,
truly speaking, faith is not got by any explanations. To understand Him, is the work of mind...and we all know, mind though powerful, is limited.

To know and realize Him, one has to go beyond the realms of the mind, with the aid of guided meditation.

Otherwise, the Bani says: Sochay soch na hovaee .... Think you may hundreds of thousands of times, even then, it isan impossible task.

The Bani oftenly repeats: only he can understand Him, unto He so wants, by His glance of Grace and mercy.

So sometimes if you feel disheartned by getting confused, maybe He has something else in His mind for you...just submit yourself to His will.

The world religion comes from the latin term religare, means, the path which unites one with the Origin. This is esence, the true meaning of religion.

You may study, different religions, paths, philosophies, but if you belive in God, just see if you it does tell you how to unite yourself with Him in this very life .... not after death.

Secondly and lastly, only that much I will definetely tell you, that He, whenever comes in this part of creation, no matter how many times He comes in different forms like Guru Sahibans or Gurmukhs, not any other, all of them come to ann end when they leave this creation.

    Why am I saying so?

Because I have an intuition, that you may be thinking that all those 24, 3, or any number of forms, continue existing somewhere....

And if anybody tells you, that those continue existing, along with His primal form, then belive it, those forms are surely of lesser deities....which are definetely not Wahiguru Akal Purukh.

The more we dig here and there, the more one gets confused. Mool mantra, is the summary of any True religion.

He is one, He can assume any number of forms, if He so wishes, but all of them are limited, and cease to exist, when He again wishes to return in His original form of Naam, Shabad, Word or Holy Ghost .....

He works, or manifests in His Gurmukhs, Sant Janas. That is why, the Bani says: Har jee baseh Sadh ke hirdey.

God, Wahiguru, is spirit, a level of consciousness...not the coverings, the bodies.

When He comes here, He respects the laws of nature made by Him and works under them, though He is all powerful. He does not manipulate anything to His convenience. He is utterly humble, and looks like any other mortal.

It is the avtars of deities, who display powers, have weapons, look similar more like Marvel superheros, with those supernatural powers...have children, spouses, etc ..even in those subtler realms .... but those forms are not Wahiguru.

    Wahiguru is Iko.

And it is to this form, which all masters of spirituality, Gurmukhs, Sant Janas, tell us to reveal it within us, in order to get the most of it, and in the end merge in it and fulfill our purpose of human birth.

The Ocean when, reaches the shore, takes the forms of waves, for a certain period of time; and then when it wants to return back, it just goes back, giving up its limited form ... to just resume its original form: the Ocean.

Once those waves, merge and become one with the Ocean...who can differentiate and trace them, there in the Ocean ?

    Naturally nobody.

May you succeed in your studies in these fields, and reach your goal !!!

    Sat Sree Akal,
    God bless you.

Baba hari Singh randhawa is doing katha at malton gurduwara in ontario canada and a few day ago he started this topic about women taking Amrit.. How can mata sahib Kaur be Khalsa do mata when she herself did not take Amrit? In suraj pratap/Prakash Granth there is no mention that Bibis took Amrit but in the same Granth there is no mention of guru gobind Singh Ji giving gurgaddi to Guru Granth Sahib Ji.. Does that mean we should stop believing ing Guru Granth Sahib Ji? Baba hari Singh also said that the daily dairy writer of guru gobind Singh Ji ( i think his name is heera Singh or hari Singh but I'm not sure) wrote every thing that happened each day up until 1708 when guru Ji joti jot smagey and his Granth is called Jodh Pothi... In that Granth the daily diary writer wrote that mata Gujjar Kaur and immediate family members INCLUDING women took Amrit in 1699.. Mata sahib kaur did not take Amrit on 1699 because she came 1 year and 18 days after 1699 and when she came she took Amrit...

So I think there is no more debate..

Well I'll give you the short answer first - if you read past the mool mantar, Guru Nanak says that everything is a form of God. You, me, the oceans, the trees, the specs of sand on the beach to the specs of light in the cosmos. What does this mean?
This is an inner experience people have where they see the "oneness" of everything, they see God radiating through everything including themselves as this One Being, Purakh.

Except that Chaupa Singh was of Brahmin background...

In his rhetnama as I have showed also says for women to view their husbands as God and also fast for them. That is the top of her religious duty according to him.

Not only is this anti gurmat when we look to SGGSJ for support, but both those statements are almost word for word from Hindu scriptures. That can't be mere coincidence. There are other clues in his rhetnama as well... For example he instructs to awaken and salute the sun with Namaste, and then Fateh to the singhs. First of all, Sikhs awaken before dawn, and second Sikhs do not 'salute' the sun with Namaste. This is not hatred... I do not hate Hindus. I was merely stating the obvious, that Chaupa Singhs rhetnama contains very Hindu ideology especially his views of women.

The reason I get wound up is because it seems like everyone on here actively look for reasons to support restricting Bibian instead of looking for evidence to support equal inclusion. For example, absence of proof is NOT proof of absence but everyone jumps automatically to that conclusion which shows where their thinking is, even if it's subconscious. If they were truly supportive of Sikh women then they would instead go looking for proof that they WERE treated equally and given the same opportunities, rather than ACTIVELY looking for any shred of proof to exclude them.

Proof of this was in your statement of 'we should ask why women would have been excluded' instead of suggesting that we should dig deeper to find proof that they WERE included (in Gurbani, in history sources outside of Sikh like the Mughal spy I posted above who was present on that first day and gave an eye witness account) instead you chose to think it more likely that women were excluded and that we should just accept it and ask why. This is because everyone on here so far chose to dig for proof that women were excluded (all of which has been circumstantial) rather than actually looking for any proof (which does exist) that they were treated equally.

    Waheguru jee kaa Khalsa
    Waheguru jee kee Fateh

Hindi is one of the languages used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj. It is used a lot in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj (Brij Bhasha is a dialect of Hindi).
Punjabi was in use even before the incarnation of God - Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj in Punjab. Punjabi and Gurumukhi are two different terms. Satguru gave us a new script called Gurumukhi. One can write any language in that script.
Additionally, Shromani Bhagat Baba Kabeer jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Jaidev jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ramanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Parmanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Soordaas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ravidas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
That is why i believe that Hindi should be very dear to Sikhs. I seriously can't believe that some Sikhs seem to hate Hindi. Not only Hindi, but other languages like Urdu, Persain, Arabic, Sindhi, Marathi, etc(the ones used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj) should all be respected greatly by Sikhs.
Additionally, not all Sikhs are Punjabi (they are majority though). There are Afghan Sikhs (mother tongue - Pashto), Sindhi Sikhs (mother tongue - Sindhi), North Indian Sikhs (mother tongue - Hindi), White Sikhs (mother tongue - English/Spanish), Kashmiri Sikhs (mother tongue - Kashmiri), etc. All these Sikhs have a right to be proud of their mother tongue and speak it proudly at Gurudwaras or anywhere else. Khalsa jee, if I am wrong, please let me know. Waheguru jee kaa Khalsa Waheguru jee kee Fateh

Almost all the modern religions and teachers like osho, oshodhara, radhaswami, santmat, kabir panti, anandmayee maa, eckangar, sant isher singh ji have agreed to this fact that the true guru satguru is inside you...here are some quotes from sggs which explains the same-

.the anhad shabad is obtained contemplating the guru (21)

. By personally experiencing the Personality of the Guru, one's own personality is uplifted, and one's light merges into the Light(27)

.As one knows the true guru,so is the peace obtained(30)

.without destiny, the true guru is not found even though he sits within the home of our own inner being always near and close at hand (40)

.he himself is the true guru,he himself is the lord he himself unites in his union (41)

.the guru is all powerful the guru is infinite.by great good fortune the blessed vision of his darshan is obtained(52)

.the guru and god are one and the divine inbues all.those who are predestined reflect over the lords name(53)

True love shall not be broken if true guru is met
Obtaining the spiritual wisdom, the understanding of three worlds is acquired(60)

.meeting the satguru i have totally transformed.i have obtained the nine treasures to use and consume and the eighteen spiritual powers.i dwell in my own home, within my own self.Anhad shabad vibrates within and i am lovingly obsorbed in the lord(91)

.i have tasted the amrit naam by meeting the satguru.it is sweet like the juice of the sugarcane(170)

.one who disciplines his mind attains perfection.only the mind can deal with the mind says kabeer.i have not met anything like the mind.this mind is shakti this mind is shiva, this mind is the life of the five elements.when this mind is channeled,it can describe the secrets of the three worlds(342)

Be meek and humble; whatever happens is what the Creator Lord does. ||51||

Many of Kabir slok seem to amaze me every time I go back and read them.
The depth and strengths of Kabirji's statements can be astounding.

One thing I have noticed about the 2 line couplets(dohe)..is that they can stand alone by themselves, but they also seem to follow along one after the other as if they answer the ''why'' and ''how'' in the subsequent lines.

An example is the messages in 49,50 and 51..............

    ਕਬੀਰ ਥੋਰੈ ਜਲਿ ਮਾਛੁਲੀ ਝੀਵਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਜਾਲੁ ॥
Kabeer Thhorai Jal Maashhulee Jheevar Maeliou Jaal ||
Kabeer, the fish is in the shallow water; the fisherman has cast his net.

In 1st line of (49) above.....
Note, - that a fish in thorai jal (shallow water) like a pond does not need a fisherman's net to catch it !!
So in this case, the fisherman will catch EVERYTHING with his cast net from this pond...There is just no escaping of the fish!
So what should the fish do if it doesn't want to get caught ?
answer is below...It should go into bigger waters where it can escape the confines of such net.

Eih Ttoghanai N Shhoottasehi Fir Kar Samundh Samhaal ||49||
You shall not escape this little pool; think about returning to the ocean. ||49||

    The fish = Human soul
and the little jal/small pond = this small world in the universe. The world that is in the territory of kal's net.
We are trapped in this net, but if we try to get into chautha padh/4th dimension/turiya avastha...then we can be in the same Ek Prabh outside of this duality.

In the next verse(50),....he goes further to say//

    ਕਬੀਰ ਸਮੁੰਦੁ ਨ ਛੋਡੀਐ ਜਉ ਅਤਿ ਖਾਰੋ ਹੋਇ ॥
Kabeer Samundh N Shhoddeeai Jo Ath Khaaro Hoe ||
Kabeer, do not leave the ocean, even if it is very salty.

Now he is saying that the survival in the ocean may be difficult. We can't survive on salty water alone (most creatures from ponds can't survive in deeper saltier waters).

Don't assume that it's an easy task that once you get to that avastha or ocean..it will be an easy ride.
On the other hand.. don't get scared and leave it under the assumption that maintaining gurmukh avastha is too difficult to prolong. Many great beings have failed in this respect and fallen back into traps of maya's net.

Next line he goes a step further into telling us or warning us about how one may poke around from puddles to ponds..looking for the one that the fisheman(Kal) may not approach.

    ਪੋਖਰਿ ਪੋਖਰਿ ਢੂਢਤੇ ਭਲੋ ਨ ਕਹਿਹੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੫੦॥
Pokhar Pokhar Dtoodtathae Bhalo N Kehihai Koe ||50||
If you poke around searching from puddle to puddle, no one will call you smart. ||50||

This is in regard to how one goes and jumps from guru to master/sadhu/ saint and even faith, looking for the better option. Kabirji says that you will just waste your time and no one will think you're smart or any wiser.
An act of manmat intellect where our mind convinces us that the other master is greater because evidence shows how such and such...went so and so...etc.

Going further into next verse(51), he reinforces the statement of not to poke around

    ਕਬੀਰ ਨਿਗੁਸਾਂਏਂ ਬਹਿ ਗਏ ਥਾਂਘੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥
Kabeer Nigusaaneaen Behi Geae Thhaanghee Naahee Koe ||
Kabeer, those who have no guru are washed away. No one can help them.

    nigusain=one without lord, guru, patronage
thanghi=to guide,sailor....the one that can lead the way
so, whats the solution if you have no teacher, no guru..no guide .

If you don't have guide to show or help lead you out of the ponds.....then No one will be able to show you.....You need a living guru to guide you through the living waters.... a satguru......Sri Guru granth sahib ji.

    ਦੀਨ ਗਰੀਬੀ ਆਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਤੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੫੧॥
Dheen Gareebee Aapunee Karathae Hoe S Hoe ||51||
Be meek and humble; whatever happens is what the Creator Lord does. ||51||

I think... ''Deen garibi''= be humble and meek with regards to your faith.
There is a lot behind these words because you can't claim that the Lord is going to take you in his abode because of your faith.....This is not ''deen garibi'' ..............Being humble of your faith and guide cannot be declared. It's like saying 'I am silent'' ? ..
The silence can only be observed in your action and not by your declaration. In the same way being humble about your pond/faith cannot be declared either.

We should get into the habit with both actions and thought processes that "HE is the DOER"
He does, he commands, we exist only because of his doing and it's all his play.
As soon as we start assuming or calculating some efforts we think that are our own doing then immediately we step towards further boundaries of Duality.

    ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਦੂਜਾ ॥
    Parabẖ kai simran binsai ḏūjā.

    What is DUJA ??
It is the duality...or the other side of EK-Onkaar.
On one side there is 'EK Parabh, the One almighty,... and on the other side of the duality fence there is the Ego filled existence.
This ego is the one that claims credit for all good efforts but tries to deny, even to itself ,...it's own shortcomings !

I know we are all in different situations as per karmic relationships and social/economic/work status. Therefore we may have to make different amends or dealings with fulfilling karmas that can quite easily make us feel like we have put in more effort that our neighbor let's say.... But in my opinion, I think it's wiser and safer to start treading this path with the 'it's not me' ego attitude. This should make the journey more positive in our own spiritual development.

We have to learn to crawl before we can learn to walk this path. So what better way to start, in knowing that it is God who is leading all the crawling.

    Brother,
it is His Grace, His hukum which makes us put the effort; or say it the other round, it is His alone Grace which gives sense to our efforts.

To summarize in few words the reality of existence, is possible in the following two points:

    1) Sat : Wahiguru Akal Purukh and His Naam. There where He is, it is all harmony, permanent, and blissfull.

    2) Asat:Maya and all the paraphernalia due to it, or let us say, everything apart from Him. Here nothing is permanent, everything is transient, full of faults, pain and sorrow, birth & death....

And our sole purpose is, to cross from darkness of agyanta, towards Him, the source and origin of True Light.

But how to achieve this? Is it by chance? By our efforts?

Well, the answer to these questions, is given to us by Sachay Patshah Guru Arjun Dev Maharaj in Raag Aasaa, in the following words:

    ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਤ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਈ
Prabh Hoe Kirapaal Th Eihu Man Laaee
    प्रभु होइ क्रिपालु त इहु मनु लाई
When God shows His Mercy, then this mind is focused on Him.

I think, having these words of Guru Jee full of wisdom and Truth in front of us, we do not need any more debates nor elaborations ....

You see, having eyes and keeping them open widely, even then, in utter darkness we shall see nothing .....

But with Light, we shall see everything around us.

It is the presence or absence of Light, which makes the difference.

In a similar way, it is because of His Grace alone, for which we can move(our efforts) towrads Him.

It is by His Hukum, His pyar, His Daya Meher, that we can ever even think of Him, and long for His darshan.

As First Patshahee has stated also: Sochay soch na hovaee, jeh sochay lakh vaar.

All our efforts, our thinking, even a hundreds of thousands of times is in vain, if His Hukum is not menat for us....yugas upon yugas may pass away, but without His Glance of Daya Meher, we have absolutely nothing to do....

We are all blind, not only that, but heavily filthy(karmically) also ....

So unless, He with sight, catches us by our arm, and pulls us along with Him, all our efforts are useless.

    Sat Sree Akal.

Nice. You are well on your way.

I would make one addition -
Make sure that you are doing simran during the moments you are falling asleep at night. Do simran during that transition from waking to sleeping. And then later during sleeping to waking stage.

These are crucial moments when our conscious mind is connected to the subconscious, meaning during the transitions of waking-sleeping and sleeping-waking, our mind goes deep into itself automatically. So if you have simran going on at this time, you can imagine the benefits of that. You are going deeper and implanting simran in the deep areas of your mind.

    On Santpad-
Bhai Sahib is correct, in order to get to Santpad, one must build up Naam di kamai and do lots of Bhakti.
However, the problem will aiming for any kind of goals about spiritual states like Santpad or smaller goals like feeling "anand and chardi kala", is that it might create attachment and slow your progress. Your attachment to any spiritual goal can actually become an obstacle.

It's good to have goals but be attached to naam and not the goal.

SAadmin reacted to dattaswami2 in The happiness and misery in this world are based on the bond
The happiness and misery in this world are based on the bonds you have with the items present in the world

The happiness and misery in this world are based on the bonds you have with the items present in the world. Real matter and real energy constitute the forms. The forms are only unreal designs of matter and energy. In a cinema all the items are the unreal designs of the real energy only. In a drama all the items are the unreal designs of the real matter only and slight energy also exists in drama as the light focused on the stage. For God, this entire world is a cinema which is just imagination of the awareness or nervous energy. Therefore, there is no difference between a cinema and imaginary world except that the cinema is made of visible light energy and the imaginary world is made of invisible nervous energy or mind. For individual souls, this world is a drama consisting of real materials and real human beings having equal status with the observers (individual souls existing in human bodies called as human beings). Hence, the world is equally real with the observing individual soul. But in the case of cinema, the observer is real matter, whereas the cinema is real energy, which is weaker than matter in expression. Hence, the observer is in higher status in view of strength of expression. If you take the imaginary world, which is made of the weakest real energy or mind, the observer is in far higher status.

In the case of God observing this world, God is in the highest status as the ultimate absolute reality whereas the world is in totally relative reality. However, from the view of God or the individual soul, the bonds in the world are totally unreal and illusory only, since the bonds are related to the totally unreal designs of energy and matter only. One bond is full of love on a particular design and another bond is full of anger on another particular design. Since the design is unreal, the related bonds must be unreal. The design does not exist before its production and after its destruction. That which did not exist in the past and will not exist in future must not exist in the present also. Therefore, its existence in the present is only illusory.

The love and anger in those bonds are foolish and if you analyze, even the love and anger are unreal because they are qualities. A quality is also unreal design of the mental energy. Hence, the love from somebody and the anger from else one are also unreal and your love and anger based on such qualities are also unreal. Therefore, your bond based on the unreal design which defines the individuality of a human being like wife, son, father, mother etc., must be also unreal. Your bond based on the personality of unreal qualities must be also unreal. Therefore, when Shankara said that the world is unreal (relatively real), it means that the world made of these unreal bonds only is unreal for the individual souls.

The matter, energy and awareness (a form of energy only) are real for the individual souls and hence the world made of these three items is not unreal. But, for God, the total world is unreal. However, for both God and individual soul, the common world consisting of these unreal bonds is unreal, which is the basis of the entertainment. You can entertain with unreal items only. The entertainment is not at all based on matter, energy and awareness, which are the three uniform phases without any difference. The difference only causes the design and brings the limits causing the individuality. The homogeneous single phase of cosmos (since matter, energy and awareness are inter convertible resulting in the final single phase of cosmic energy) is called as Brahman, in the form of creation (Karya Brahman) and this cannot give any entertainment. If you try to analyze God (Karana Brahman), it is also homogeneous phase of unimaginable entity. Shankara represented God by this single phased cosmic energy in the form of awareness (awareness is a special work form of energy) or Karya Brahman. This clearly means that neither Karya Brahman is God nor God charges Karya Brahman homogeneously. If such charging takes place, there is no difference between seer and seen. Such charging takes place in the case of human incarnation because if an individual soul is charged by God, such human incarnation can be the seer of the rest uncharged world (cosmic energy).

It sounds quite peaceful and that is how it should be. Glad you were meditating instead of the shows of women crying and wailing that we often witness. These never help the situation.

Just hold on to that divine connection within.

    Beautiful topic Neo Veer Jee,
reading it now, I recall something related to it quite a few years back....

I do not remember, if I read it, or heard it from someone, but the thing is, I liked it a lot and it was graved on my mind and heart, and so I will surely share it with the sangat here....

It all started with the the tuk " Charan Kamal Tere doe doe peevaa ......"

You see, if there are Charan Kamal, surely, Charnamrit is also bound to be there .....

So the explanation I saw or was given, was that, as Wahiguru is Nirankar, doing His Simran, was like washing(doe, doe) His Lotus Feet.

And then, as a consequence of that His Simran bhakti, the Shabad is audible. So, listening that divine melody, that Akashi Bani, that Shabad Dhun, is like drinking the Charnamrit of Wahiguru....

I found it quite rational and logical also, cause we know through the Bani, that listening to that Shabad , that Naam within us, is the only way, to become free from the cycle of births and deaths, and also the means to merge in Wahiguru.

Dhan dhan Satguru Sachay Patshah Arjan Dev Maharaj, regarding the topic of this thread, tells us something very very beautiful in His Bani, in Raag Maajh:

    Amrit Banee Har Har tayree.
The Word of Your Bani, Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar
sun sun hovai param gat mayree.
Hearing it again and again, I am elevated to the supreme height.

So after reading the lines above, we may ask ourselves, it is o.k that His Name/Naam is the Amrit, but then how do we get it?

The natural answer is, by concentration, by meditation on His Nam Simran.

Thrid Patshahee confirms this, when He says in Anand Sahib: Naam jinke man vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere.
When the mind is stilled by Simran, the soul awakens from its deep sleep, and sees the Jot and the listens the Dhun, emanating from the Shabad.

Of course, this is a very high and desirable state of purity, but neverthless, it is our very birth right, like a blessing upon us by Wahiguru, in this very human form.

    What else do we need?

Absolutely nothing. We just need seriously to do His bhakti, as means of His Simran, and with His Grace, Daya Meher, achieve all this spiritual wealth, stored by Him within each one of us, in equal measure.

    Sat Sree Akal.
