seattlesingh got a reaction from Kaur10 in Practical Ways Of Controlling Anger
Personal tips:
- Have proper sleep, good quality sleep and will power have a strong correlation in my personal research
- Have proper diet (don't get caught being "hangry")
- Daily exercise (start with 5 pushups every hour or something, build up your strength)
- You may have Pitta imbalance so try to eat a Pitta pacifying diet especially in the summer time aka Pitta season
- Also the mindset by which you consume your food affects is conduciveness to your body, begin eating after 1 minute or two of Jaap, remember guru sahiban, and shaheed singhs to induce sato gun within the food and reduce its natural tamasic quality or the tamasic qualities it picked up when it was being prepared

seattlesingh got a reaction from paapiman in Gurmat Havan of Sri Chandi jee
@Arsh1469, there are so many maryadas and sanskars not mentioned in SGGS or DGS, also just because something is mentioned in SGGS or DGS doesn't make it valid, it depends on what context the gurus mentioned particular practices in.

Even Amrit Sanchars, Akhand Paaths, Sehaj Paaths, etc, are religious rituals.

That injunction is probably for non-Nihang Singhs.

What about Sukha Maryada? Sukha is also an intoxicant.

seattlesingh reacted to paapiman in Keski ????
@Trimandeep Singh - Also, who told you that Keski was a mandatory Rehat? It was prob mandatory only for Nihang women.
Most Puratan Sampradas do not believe that Keski is a Kakkar. You probably already know that.

seattlesingh reacted to Kaur10 in Will be doing 125,000 Mool Mantar Jaap
Does anyone else on this forum would like to join Mool Mantar Recitation as an experiment to get rid of their vices?
Especially beginners like me , let's just test the power of Gurbani even though we know it is the Universal Truth.
We do have good moral support on this form, let's get the most out of it.

seattlesingh reacted to Trimandeep Singh in Havan (Fire Ritual) Maryada
Yes, it has many benefits.
Paapiman's point is also relevant that if Baani can have effect on Sarbloh then why not fire? I think we need vichar of people who oppose Havan too.
We are no scholars. I think after listening to the opinions of both sides, we will be able to conclude.
@paapiman ji will try to find Katha of any Kathvachaks who favour and oppose Havan.

Hey Ragnarok, Ive noticed when i do antargat jaap it takes a few days of regular jaap to build up speed relative to vaikhari jaap, I have also heard in various katha that antargat has more phal. Would it still be recommended to do antargat even if jaap is slower?

@Soulfinder - Please make a back-up bro.
Thanks
@Trimandeep Singh - Please do listen to another non-Sikh Mahapurakh above. He talks about Nirantar Simran (which is similar to Ajapa Jaap), Gurmanatar, etc. He might be a Brahamgyani.
@Ragmaala - Thanks a lot bro for sharing.

seattlesingh reacted to paapiman in Can Rehraas Sahib be done before 5:30 p.m?
Some Gurbanis probably have the recommended timing mentioned in the Gurbani itself.
Like for example,, in SRI ATH CHANDI CHARITAR USTAT BARNNAN, it states
ਜਗੈ ਰੈਣਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਪੈ ਜਾਪ ਯਾ ਕੋ ॥
And that Yogi, who repeats it, keeping awake throughout the night,
ਧਰੈ ਪਰਮ ਜੋਗੰ ਲਹੈ ਸਿਧਤਾ ਕੋ ॥੪॥੨੬੦॥
He will attain supreme Yoga and miraculous powers.4.260.
