One humble advice ji before starting, please avoid mentioning your Nitnem and bhagti routine in your posts. Simply mention the problem.
Veerji, this is normal with gursikhs and seekers. I have been through this. I think it happens because of lack of sabar (patience) in us. We expect huge results in less time or expect some progress after continuous effort.
Bhai Sahib Vir Singh Ji used to say,
"Who are we? How can we even ask for naam ras to Guru sahib? We haven't done anything great. A seeker should continuously shower arrows of Vaheguru naam on the enemy (5 Chor). Sometimes, guru sahib, out of his kirpaalu nature, feels pity on us and gives rass, so that we don't faulter and continue to do abhyaas to have that experience again. The first avastha is like licking a tasteless pebble. Doing abhyaas during times of rass is a good thing to keep it going. But the real warrior is that person who continues to do abhyaas even when he doesn't derive any rass."
Puraatan gursikhs used to attend Kirtan smaagams to regain their excitement. Once a person asked a Gurmukh, "Why do you attend every Samagam? Don't you have a job or a business? How do you take out time to attend for such long periods?"
The gurmukh replied, "Main apni battery charge karwaan aunda haan", meaning "I come everytime to charge my battery."
So go in sangat and attend Kirtan smaagams to charge your battery 😉
Or you can also read Jeevanis of Mahaan Gursikhs. And Jail Chithiyan of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji is a must read!

I have no problem with Jhatka. But, this story that guru sahib took those to be-Panj pyaare in a tent and then killed goats and showed the sangat his sword with blood is kinda weird.
First of all, it is evident from history that whenever Guru Sahib takes a test, the person is successful only when he actually does it. Eg: when Guru Nanak Dev Ji tested his gursikhs (Baba Budhaa Ji, Bhai Bhagirathi Ji, Bhai Lehna Ji), when he asked them to eat the corpse, it was only Bhai Lehna who came forward. But for Guru sahib, it didn't mean that Bhai Lehna passed the test. Bhai Lehna passed the test only when he actually started eating the corpse from the feet.
Similarly, when guru sahib asked the sangat to give their head, he actually cut off their heads in front of the whole sangat.
If you say, that guru sahib took them in a tent and fooled the sangat that it was human blood on his sword, then you are accusing Guru sahib of lying to the sangat and doing something different from what he said. (sorry I said accusing, used the wrong word; I mean the implication of this saakhi)
Do you know what Gurbani says about people who speak different and do different?

My belief is that guru sahib actually cut off their heads in front of the whole sangat and when they poured amrit in their mouth, they became alive.

Veerji, I suggest you listen to Sukhmani Sahib in Kirtan form. Even if you don't understand any meanings, listen to it. There have been so many gursikhs who were illiterate but still reached a high spiritual state just by listening to Paath from gursikhs and repeating Vaheguru with every breath.
"Dookh Rog Santaap Utre Suni Sachi Baani"
Sufferings and Pains leave when one listens to Dhur ki Bani.
One more suggestion, when I didn't know how to read Punjabi, I just learned the letters and tried to recognize them and learn their sound. Then I used to listen to Paath of Bhai jarnail singh Damdami Taksal with Gurbani being displayed on my phone. In one year, I was able to read Sukhmani Sahib fluently. It took me nearly 1 hr 20 mins to complete it in one sitting.
I suggest, try to learn the gurmukhi letters and then LISTEN to Sukhmani sahib with Gurbani in front of you.
Here is the link of Kirtan with Hindi transliteration and second one Sukhmani sahib Paath.

Below is the video of the conversation between Sant Jarnail Singh Ji and a western fortune teller recorded in 1984. It's awesome! We can learn from it that Ridhi Sidhis like- whatever you say becomes true, to be able to know the future, know tomorrow's weather, conversations through mind etc are just like toys that are possessed by an Abhiyaasi. But they are only a play of Maaya. One may use these for selfish purposes due to which there is huge loss of Kamaayi. One should remain determined to have darshan of Vaheguru during this life.

I don't know about opinion of Baba Nand Singh Ji on this. Though many people say that Amrit Vela is between 3-6 am, but it is Daas' personal experience of naam jap after 12 am. When I found it difficult to get up at Amrit Vela during winters, I used to remain awake till 12 am, do my ishnaan, dry my kes, do naam jap and Gurbani Paath till 3:30-4 am and then sleep. My experience was pretty good but sometimes annoying because some of my family members (not much in sikhi) used to knock my door while doing naam jap. Other than that, my experience was really good. But then I gave up this routine because it was affecting my studies a bit.
I would say that this 12am routine can be followed during vacations to do a lot of Kamaayi in less time (but again various other factors also play a role). Also, many Mahapurakhs whose lives I have read about used to sleep really early and wake up at 12 am to do Kamaayi (in their old age).

How can you just substitute meanings?
In Gurbani, Ram word has been used for Akaal Purakh and Ram Chander Ji also. Can you substitute Raam (Ram Chander) in panktis where Ram has been used for Akaal Purakh.
Degh is also referred to as Amrit. Can we substitute it in place of Amrit in pankti, "Amrit Peevoh Sadaa Chir Jeevoh"
According to Scholars, every Gurbani Pankti has only one meaning if correct Gurbani Grammar is applied.
In the first pankti, it doesn't say that Brahmgyani can give naam. With the sight or glance of Brahmgyani, one receives amrit varkha (kirpa) of guru sahib to go on the right path.
In second pankti, guru sahib says one receives nine treasures by meditating on naam. One receives everything when one japs naam.

I never said that people from previous three yugs weren't liberated. Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave them their darshan.
Eg: Bhagat Dhroo Ji. After immense meditation on KIRTAM NAAM, he still couldn't get darshan of Vaheguru. Finally he decided that he wouldn't eat anything until he received darshan. Seeing his thirst and devotion, Guru Nanak Dev Ji gave him his darshan and gave him Amrit.
