    Yes, it has many benefits.
    Paapiman's point is also relevant that if Baani can have effect on Sarbloh then why not fire? I think we need vichar of people who oppose Havan too.
    We are no scholars. I think after listening to the opinions of both sides, we will be able to conclude.
    @paapiman ji will try to find Katha of any Kathvachaks who favour and oppose Havan.

    Family opinions don't matter because if they are your boss, then Vaheguru is the Founder. (in the context of a business company) Do ardaas to Guru Sahib to give Bibek Budhi to family members who are unintentionally acting as a hindrance in your spiritual journey.
    Car accidents and cancer are a concern. Mostly, I have heard that gursikhs don't think it is bad to get hair cut when it comes to your life. But there have also been cases when Sikhs didn't cut their hairs even when it meant losing their lives.
    Endless examples from puraatan times and during evil period of Mughal Raj.
    A modern example- Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa mukhi of Damdami Taksaal. He was severely injured in a car accident. The doctors said he could be saved if he would allow shaving hairs on his chest to proceed for a surgery. He didn't allow this and happily accepted death and went for Sachkhand.
    Another modern example of a Sikh Freedom Fighter during British Rule in India. When Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji met Bhagat Singh, he mentioned the name of a Sikh Freedom Fighter who refused to dye his beard or cut it when the Britishers put a large amount on his head.

    It's Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji's rehatnaama which contains a lot of adulteration.
    It also says serve Langar more to Sikhs of Brahman caste. It also says one who gets a female of his household get Amrit is a tankhaiya. So, I mean to say it was may be altered by some false Sikhs who followed Brahman caste system.
    Also, on this sehajdhaari SIKH topic, I have come across multiple opinions. Currently, my belief is that anyone who cuts hair cannot call himself a SIKH.
    From my meagre understanding, a Sehajdhaari Sikh is someone who wants to become a devoted Amritdhari Sikh. He/she is trying to keep Rehat and follow Gurbani but sometimes, under the influence of Maaya commits bajjar paaps. They demand more time (sehej) to follow the teachings of Gurbani. Means, slowly slowly, with time, they are coming towards the path of spirituality.

    Both, Sant Baba Kartar Singh jee Khalsa and Bhai saab Bhai Randhir Singh jee were Gurmukh Brahamgyanis.
    We should try to learn from their life events, but, IMHO, we should not apply such extremely HIGH standards (from their life stories) to ordinary Amritdhari Sikhs.

    As Daas mentioned before, we will discuss this issue in a separate topic. Some of the rituals you have mentioned above cannot be compared to Jhatka, which is a Sikh ritual practiced by Puratan Sampradas.
    Let's stay on the topic here.

    Bhenji, I would say don't feel discouraged. Even this guilty feeling is the kirpa of guru sahib!
    Many amritdharis engage in Manmati kalyugi things and instead of accepting their mistakes, blame other gursikhs who sincerely follow the hukams of guru sahib.
    Try to read saakhis of Soorbir Sikh Bibiyaan who smacked the faces of those evil Mughals who underestimated the power of women. Or you can do jaap of kes related hukams from Rehatnamey.

    Edit: Here are some panktis from Bhai Desa Singh Ji's Rehatnama

    ਕੇਸਨ ਧੂਪ ਦੇਇ ਸੁਚ ਪਾਵਨ ॥
    Dry your hair in the sun, keep them clean and pure;
    ਹੈ ਇਹ ਗੁਰੂ ਕੀ ਮੋਹਰ ਸੁਹਾਵਨ ॥੬੯॥
    For this is the beautiful seal of the Guru.

    ਤਨ ਇਸ ਕੇ ਸਿਰ ਕੇਸ ਜ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
    Upon the head this body hair was given;
    ਸੋ ਇਹ ਤਨ ਸਿੰਗਾਰਹਿ ਕੀਨੋ ॥੭੯॥
    Which was an adornment on his body.
    ਦਾੜ੍ਹਾ ਮੁਛ ਸਿਰ ਕੇਸ ਬਨਾਈ ॥
    The beard, mustache, and hair upon the head was fashioned ; upon him;
    ਹੈ ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਜਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਰਜ਼ਾਈ ॥
    This was firmly will of God.
    ਮੇਟ ਰਜ਼ਾਇ ਜੁ ਸੀਸ ਮੁੰਡਾਵੈ ॥
    One who erases this will by shaving his head;
    ਕਹੁ ਤੇ ਜਗ ਕੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮੦॥
    Tell me, how will he find God in this world?
    ਪਾਂਖਹੁ ਬਿਨ ਬਿਹੰਗ ਜਿਮ ਹੋਹੀ ॥
    Like a bird without its wings,
    ਊਰਬ ਬਿਨਾ ਭੇਡ ਜਿਮ ਕੋਈ ॥
    Like a sheep without it's wool;
    ਬਸਨ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਨਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੈਸੇ ॥
    Like a woman without her clothes;
    ਕੇਸਨ ਬਿਨਾ ਹੋਇ ਨਰ ਤੈਸੇ ॥੮੧॥
    Such is a man without his Kes.
    ਕੇਸਨ ਨਰ ਧਾਰੇ ਹੈ ਜਬਹੀ ॥
    When man retains his Kes;
    ਪੂਰਨ ਰੂਪ ਹੋਇ ਹੈ ਤਬਹੀ ॥
    Only then he is in his complete and perfect form.
    ਕੇਸ ਏਕ ਪੁਨ ਰਹਤ ਜੁ ਪਾਈ ॥
    The Kes is one virtuous Rehit to have.
    ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੮੨॥
    It's entire glory cannot be described.
    ਬੇਦ ਰਹਤ ਜਿਮ ਦਿਜ ਨ ਸੁਹਾਵਤ ॥
    As Without the Vedas the dij (twice-born) is not exalted;
    ਸੀਲ ਰਹਤ ਕੁਲ ਨਾਰਿ ਨ ਭਾਵਤ ॥
    As without gentleness a woman is disliked by her children;
    ਬੇਗ ਰਹਤ ਜਿਮ ਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਹੀਨ ॥
    As without swiftness a horse is useless;
    ਰਹਤ ਬਿਨਾ ਇਹ ਕੇਸ ਮਲੀਨ ॥੮੩॥
    In the same way, the Kes are defiled without the Rehit.

    Shaving hairs is a universal Paap because it means violating the hukam of the creator.
    Noone should alter the appearance given by the creator to us. Changing our appearance means an insult to Vaheguru that he didn't make us perfect and it is because of 'my' effort that I look 'better' now.
    Hindus, Muslims, Christians should not cut hairs from any part of their body because even their prophets/isht  (33 crore devte, Prophet Muhammad, Jesus Christ) didn't cut their hairs. Unshorn hairs are not exclusive to Sikhi. Hindus,Muslims and Christians can keep unshorn hair while remaining faithful to their religions.

    I don't know about opinion of Baba Nand Singh Ji on this. Though many people say that Amrit Vela is between 3-6 am, but it is Daas' personal experience of naam jap after 12 am. When I found it difficult to get up at Amrit Vela during winters, I used to remain awake till 12 am, do my ishnaan, dry my kes, do naam jap and Gurbani Paath till 3:30-4 am and then sleep. My experience was pretty good but sometimes annoying because some of my family members (not much in sikhi) used to knock my door while doing naam jap. Other than that, my experience was really good. But then I gave up this routine because it was affecting my studies a bit.
    I would say that this 12am routine can be followed during vacations to do a lot of Kamaayi in less time (but again various other factors also play a role). Also, many Mahapurakhs whose lives I have read about used to sleep really early and wake up at 12 am to do Kamaayi (in their old age).

    Dearest God,
    I don’t understand anything.
    I’m always asking you for more and you never stop giving.
    I forever look at the single thing I don’t have not realising the countless blessings you gave.
    I will never know how lucky I am.
    I just want to say thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much God.
    To the random person reading who I will never meet, I truly hope you find happiness in this lifetime.

    No, he wont, if he keeps worshipping them till his last breath (They can possibly reach other LOKS though such as Shiv Lok, Bhishan Puri, etc). But, if he realizes their creator during his spiritual journey and starts meditating (with utmost love and devotion) on the ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR, with the aim to merge into HIM, then he has a chance to reach Sachkhand.

    Paras Kala is transformation power of Gurbani.
    If one listens to bani recitation or Kirtan, then it will affect the person even if he doesn't understand it.
    If we read bani near water, it will become Amrit and will have good effect on whosoever drinks it.
    If we read bani while making food, it will have good effect on whosoever 'chhaks' it.

    Veerji, I suggest you listen to Sukhmani Sahib in Kirtan form. Even if you don't understand any meanings, listen to it. There have been so many gursikhs who were illiterate but still reached a high spiritual state just by listening to Paath from gursikhs and repeating Vaheguru with every breath.
    "Dookh Rog Santaap Utre Suni Sachi Baani"
    Sufferings and Pains leave when one listens to Dhur ki Bani.
    One more suggestion, when I didn't know how to read Punjabi, I just learned the letters and tried to recognize them and learn their sound. Then I used to listen to Paath of Bhai jarnail singh Damdami Taksal with Gurbani being displayed on my phone. In one year, I was able to read Sukhmani Sahib fluently. It took me nearly 1 hr 20 mins to complete it in one sitting.
    I suggest, try to learn the gurmukhi letters and then LISTEN to Sukhmani sahib with Gurbani in front of you.
    Here is the link of Kirtan with Hindi transliteration and second one Sukhmani sahib Paath.

    I was raised around all sorts of christianity. And it played a big role in the celtic history in recent times. I was fortunate enough to be raised in an irish catholic bubble before it burst that was a real link into the past and a certain type of catholicism. My mother fused her understanding of high energy physics and mathematics with spirituality and pointed to Sikhs as being the best example, and had great insight into what it meant to be a real Christian. I was taught about all religions to some degree. I later transitioned into Gnosticism and studied many things broadly and the best sources of Gnosis deeply. In the world of christianity I would be a minority but I've been around every form of it and attended some of their schools.
    Christianity, overall, is largely, and has long been, infiltrated, corrupted and ...unempowered. Individual christians, many times naive to this, are quite lovely people even in the weirder sects. There are some profoundly powerful real christians out there however in small numbers.
    Christ is real, but almost no christian understands his message or the workings of metaphysics or meditation enough to understand. Almost entirely, christianity is a cult of idol worship.  It is my belief and experience, that Christ supports anyone proporting to follow him to become a Sikh if they are sincere. As a Sant who's name escapes me indicated. I experienced this myself on my journey from fine christian to Wretched Gursikh. It's like going from big fish in the small pond into the ocean.
    When Halemi Raj occurs this relationship will be more clear.
    I know that is a long answer to a short question but christianity is complex and even though I was immersed in it, I took the gems and ran, it's uhh...terrifying actually when you peel back the veil even a bit.
    I had a really neat experience the other day. I was doing Naam Jaap and got close to a Christian, which I didn't realize at first. And I was really feeling good. I started saying Dan Dan Guru Nanak Dev Ji under my breath and when I did this young man got elated. He said Whew...something is here! and started sweating and dancing while he finished his work up and immediately started telling me he returned to his practices recently. I hadn't said anything to him.
    I had a very vivid dream one time where my deceased grandfather and I were eating in a restaurant and there was a Gursikh family next to us eating happily. And after I spoke with my grandfather a while who only smiled and nodded while I spoke, the Sikh family spoke to us and they asked him if he would condone my being given to them and he nodded.
    I've also had an experience where I used two forms of Naam from paleo hebrew in the middle of Vaheguru Naam Jaap and it uhh..seemed to bring Christ's pressence to support my Naam Jaap who themself was...doing Naam Jaap. Sat Naam.
    The natural progression is for people to move from christianity to Sikhi. Not the other way around and not to conFUSE them. There is a gentleman who has YouTube videos. A Sikh who studied with jesuits I think it was? He is inspired about a relationship between the two, and produces a lot of content. He is right about a relationship, but from my point of view he has all the details wrong. Christ was not Guru Nanak Dev Ji as he says. He was more like a beloved vangaurd and his works were not protected because they were not intended to be. Rather than take the warning, the enemies of life and enlightenment took over his subsequent faith, name and image, and coopted it into their existing Adharmi movement.  Which is fine. Gursikhi still en route. Halemi Raj innevitable.

    Even if Kaar does not mean Kaal, it definitely does mean "Protection Line" (from above).
    Therefore,
    ਪੁ + ਕਾਰੇ - can possible refer to "Protection from Hells".
