Like Jaikaara gave an example of the verses used to malign Brahmins. Those guys are talking about their own people. Or talking very neutrally. But it is twisted to mean something else entirely.
Another example, the gurus actually speak favourably of the Vedas, Puranas, Bhagwad Gita etc. However people today use verses to misrepresent that.
The same goes for Ram Chandra ji also. He will be my major theme to begin with. He is perhaps the most misunderstood even amongst open-minded sikhs, and it is due to botched translations like the one above.

If a Gurudwara does not recite Nitnaym Gurbanis at amritvela, it does not mean they reject them. Daas's local Nanaksar gurudwara does not have Nitnaym in their schedule too. They do Sri Sukhmani Sahib jee daa paath. There might be a reason behind it.

Does Maharaj criticize the brahman ? No. Maharaj is simply saying i am a son of a warrior not of brahman who would do penance..is Maharaj criticizing penance ? No. Maharaj is pointing out his karma. But see how it is used to curse brahmans .

When we choose a religion from a culture which is way different from our understanding there will always arise such conflicts..the fact is women are not the same as they were then..they are independent . Besides our differences i feel you are a strong woman..and i understand your thinking .
There are different layers of Sikhi ...The Nanak Panth is a different layer ..no where in the Guru Granth Sahib you will find insistence on rehat maryada..people will give tuks to prove ..but otherwise what i feel is ..it is the Sant marg..full of Bhagti for the One Divine Hari Parmatma..full of Sehaj ..
The Khalsa of Guru Gobindsingh ji is the militarised form and has certain regulations ..people may have their thoughts about Amirt sanskaar as a uniform ceremony however i strongly feel that there would be a different process of amrit sanskaar for women and a different rehat..also women were not empowered then and had a limited role in the ceremony there is belief of them to be not playing any role .
Your feminist approach will not let you stick to any belief where you will not find the role of women, which is not a point to argue since it is all about a mindset. Good or bad is not something for me to judge because at the same time i don't have any issues with it .
Before you go forward to a major decision in your life ..it is for you to think that this is just one thing which is known to you now ..going forward at every stage you will face such challenges wherein you will find yourself  thinking differently from the society and your spouse which you will be part of .
You need to think and introspect about your decision since it is all about your life.
I personally am brought up in a cosmopolitan way and society, i don't get along with one single group in majority i prefer to have everyone around .  I can very well understand how you must be feeling . 
You might have ignored my replies to your posts in the past ..however i am saying all this to you as a fellow human being ..we aren't friends or relatives ..whatever i have experienced and known i feel you need to introspect really well and then arrive at a decision . It is about 2 people's lives and i feel everyone should be happy.

But just so you know , Baba Nand Singh Jis previous janams included the King Bharatha , brother of Sri Rama, a pious muslim king and the birth of Farid Shekh Brahm who rode a wall to meet Guru Nanak.  And finally the birth as a great Sikh Saint was his final one :)

Excellent point brother. This means that the Amrit ceremony cannot be completed without feminine (devi) influence. In addition, women can also help out with the Amrit ceremony. There are other people needed for assistance, such as door keepers, sewadaar for Karah Parshad, etc.

Well when I was there I saw them eating langar at bhucho sahib even mazbhi Sikhs. My relatives go to bhuch sahib a lot so I know much about bhucho sahib.

My friend who is a mazbhi sngh also went to bucho sahib as well.

This is the routine of bucho sahib
3 to 4:30 am sukhmani sahib
4:30 to 5:30 am 5 bani nitnem
5:30 to 7:00 am Asa di Vaar 
At night time they do rehras sahib and Kirtan sohila.
 
The low caste do eat with each other in the langar hall. I know this cause I'm really close with bucho sahib. I was there just 6 months ago.
 
Also every Singh at bucho sahib does nitnem of 7 Banis and more. This is the maryada. So don't post about stuff you do not know about.

I'm not sure what kinda noises you're talking about.But yes it has to do something with spiritual progress.Like when one does lot of saas graas simran then it starts happening of its own so then it makes sounds in abdominal region.
My dad's grandfather was a very  spiritual person.He used to do lot of simran and saas graas.Then in later years of his life,whenever  he was  on bed and was almost asleep,then sounds like guru-guru (very loud)were audible from his navel region.
So they used to denote it as Nabhi chalna in punjabi.
So I think yes it denotes high spiritual awastha,when simran has been done through ROm Rom and Now it's been a part of your soul.

I think people still haven't learned to stop exalting parcharaks to some super level; haven't people learned that they are likely to end up disappointed when the parcharak falls short of the lofty exaltation (not to mention the way this can mess up the parcharak themselves by feeding their ego).

All I know about Avdhoot Sadhus is that they have so much sadhana or hatha yoga that they have controlled the flow of semen in their body, leading upwards which becomes OJAS and nourishes their brain and spirituality. Also , they are so firm that they do not let a drop of semen shed even during dreams in night. They are perfect in their Brahmacharya. However, if they have haumai or ego, all their efforts go waste. For them Guru Ji says that if one could attain God through semen retention then Khusra Eunech would attain salvation first.
However, Guru Ji also instructs to not let a drop of semen shed even during dreasm ..supne bind na deyi jhadna...
Such Mahapurakhs are very rare who are completely established in Brahmacharya of Mind & Body... jin mil mareyo panch soorbir aisa kaun bali re...  Baba Nand Singh Ji would hint at Baba Ishar Singh ji as the only amongst other sewadars who was free of Vishe Vikar and had crushed 5 demons under his feet. Only a Mahapurakh who has crushed all the 5 evils and trickery of Maya , can sit on a tiger skin...thus you see Baba Nand Singh Ji & Baba Ishar Singh Ji on tiger skins, and they have to be avdhoots & bal brahmacharis. If a grihasthi sits on a tiger skin, he will be destroyed karmically.
For householders, Bhagat Kabir ji recommends a Deer-Skin to sit upon while meditating on God.mrigshala par baithe kabir...
 

please dont try to confuse sangat. AKJs are not a puratan samparda...whatever they do doesn't define sikhi in its true form. Even if akjs had respect for dasam granth I would still consider them maleech as they are a newly formed jatha. 
 
I would never take amrit from akjs let alone a woman...if guru Gobind Singh wanted women in thepanj he would have, only men stood up. Stop trying to change sikhi to suit your belief s.

Never look to society to dictate what you should do. Be your own man, and carve out your own path.

Do a job where you can do naam simran while you are on the job.

Thank you so much bro. I really appreciate this. When it comes to your question about if I can read Gurumukhi, I do not know how to read or write Gurumukhi. I only know how to speak in Punjabi, and I'm not very good at it. I have become closer to my roots and I wish to speak fluently one day. I will begin listening to katha as you advised as well as continuing to speak in Punjabi.
Also, I checked out a book/CD from my local library called "Teach Yourself Panjabi" by Surjit Kalra and Navtej Purewal. I have gone through some of it and have been reading aloud the Punjabi dialogues as well as hearing them on CD and recording myself to see how I sound so I can fix my pronunciation. That's a start, but I hope it gets better from here.

Bro, start listening to katha and learn Gurmukhi pronunciation. Can you read Gurumukhi? When you keep listening to katha, gradually your Punjabi will improve, i.e your sentence structure and pronunciation. Whatever new words you learn, make notes and check with your parents, if you are pronouncing them right. Revise those words and use them in your conversations with your parents/friends. Online dictionaries/apps can possibly be great tools too.  
It will take time, so don't expect instant results.
Keep talking in Punjabi, whenever you get a chance. Don't worry, if people make fun of you. Making fun of someone is a form of slandar, which is a heinous sin in Sikhism. It actually, indirectly helps the receiver/victim.
