Lucky, if you look at all of Paapimans posts on this forum it's very obvious what he's trying to prove about women vs men.

Continuing with the topic of this thread, I remember an article which I read it quite a long long time .

Once, when swami Vivekananda went to the States to give some discourses, after the end one of those, a woman came to him attracted by his personality, and told him, that he being such a high being, that she wanted to marry him and get a child like him from him...

Naturally, Vivekananda being a high evolved soul, told her that, there was no gurantee that getting a child from him would ceratinly be spiritually like him in anyway.

But yes, there was another valid option left for her. He said, but if you make me your son, that your wish will be definetely fulfilled ...

From this we can see, how these higher souls handle situations like these above, where an ordinary person can fall prey to lust, but they remain unattached at all times and places...because they are now attached to the divine power within, which purifies the mind to such an extent, that they are above all Maya and her servants (vaasnas, trishnaas...).

    1. Guru did not marry 8 sisters because first of all it makes no sense. Secondly this fact is not supported historically.

    2. Why are you ignoring the fact that the same panna mentions:

ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ The human being that chants the virtues of the Lord dwells in peace and poise; he is liberated from the cycle of rebirth.

    That's good.
Pranayama are breathing exercises that are ideal in preparing one for Deep meditation and on the plus side, they also have their own benefits.

Some of you maybe aware that I've been practicing kundalini yoga for a few years now.
I find that it helps me maintain a baseline of "Balanced Energies" as well as contributing to general well-being.

I wrote about some of it's positive effects for me some time ago in the meditation thread......

I also go to gym to do cardio about 2-4 times/week and pool sessions with sauna and steam room.
Whilst there, I am usually listening to simran jaap, or some kirtan at the right pace to go with being on the ellipticals or treadmills.
In the sauna and steam rooms, I am always sat there doing internal jap at all opportunities.

......and seriously, (for paapiman!)...because of my minds state of trying to stay connected to jap, whilst at the same time, my physical state may be sweating it out .......I will keep my head down and avoid direct eye contact with females at nearly all times..... and believe me, there are plenty of bikin clad women around in the pools and very often, groups of college cheerleaders doing their gym workouts, girls basketball teams....swim teams.......etc......and YET, I have NEVER had any problems of kaam coming before my mind's eyes!
......and this has nothing to do with avasta...it's all about disciplining yourself.

This should quite easily be second nature for any sikh that understands the real significance of rehat.

Just to mention guys.....You know that you can bring in the elements of sports to help with meditation and mind control ??

It's specific sports where you are actually needing a SINGLE-MIND FOCUS.

Let's say something simple like shooting basketball hoops------>>>>Here what you do in effect is,...keep your complete dhian of mind on the single hoop...goal is to get the ball in the basket.......at the moment you come close to taking the shot--->>>.you disconnect from all the distractions around you.---->>>in those moments, your mind is in a single focus meditative state !!

Another, very important one is 'shooting' or target practice.
I realized from watching the American Sniper movie of how he describes the "shot" in the movie.
He says that you take the aim-->complete focus on target---->>even having to remove distractions of what kind of person target is
    ----> then, to get ready
---->>be VERY STILL and STEADY....having dhian of only the target at the forefront and disconnecting everything else.
    ---->>>HOLD the BREATH
----->and BANG, pull the trigger !

It made me realize the importance of the precision and mind control involved for a sniper.
A good sniper would be good at meditation and in US sniper training, many of them attend yoga/meditation classes in order to get the Mind aspects under control........Can you imagine these big hard-knock, tattooed dudes in green combats doing yoga?...lol..

Guru Gobind Singh ji and singhs of the time were excellent with skills like archery and shooting arrows with precision.
We should understand how mind meditation complements this skill.

    Fear of death!!!! Waheguru!
Perhaps I know (a little bit), about the feeling of death arrival.Don't going too much personal,I would share that I had a demo of post death time for two times. But the good thing is that,Such experiences or u say dreams have driven me into more bhagti. At having one ,I was little upset.I just cried and asked guru ji that Am I too bad for having such worst experience.I was feeling so unfortunate and was asking myself again and again that what bad karams I had conducted for having such punishment.but later,I realised no,that was a sign of guru sahib's kirpa in an indirect way.But still I dont understand the proper meaning. But now,I almost dont scare of death. One should always remind Guru Ji in his heart .I think, to know about the post death time and to overcome it's fear is must to progress on our spiritual path.U never know at what time we get to leave this body,so remembering akal purkh every second is worthwhile.

    Interesting!
Some of you may be aware that I had experienced a NDE and was in a coma for nearly a month...but I don't go into details on an open forum.
This guy was talking about it just after a year... but in all honesty...it takes more than a few years to put all the pieces together and understand it.

I can usually comprehend the genuine NDE descriptions,so I will give my opinion on this one....and it is fairly genuine, except that I think he hasn't fully understood and realized yet !

My opinion is that he did come from one of the heavenly realms before his life on earth.
The fact, that in this life, he rejected God, the power, the divine...... is why he was susceptible to all the darker and negative energies which accounted for his numerous illnesses.

The easiest way to think of how these energies work is to think of your 'SOUL' or God energy as that which exists as a white light.
The more attached to God and the more God realized ---->>then the brighter and stronger the energy of this white light.

Stronger white light in a body---->>>makes the body less susceptible to energies of dark light... this also means poot, pret, jantar mantar, curses, black magic...and all that.... are less likely to affect such body.

Then on the other hand, if a person has hardly any white divine light in them---->>> then, their bodies are more likely to be consumed by the darker and depriving energies of ill health, disease, depression...and even suicide.

Think of "GU-RU"...from darkness to light !

He witnessed the Cosmic arrangement and from what he was trying to explain as really fast travel--->>>was about the real ''interstellar'' cosmic shift through light years of space in no concept of time!... 5th dimension!
This is how "Gobind"-(Lord of the Universe)....shows you what your existence really is.
It is tailored for each individual, which is why, No two experiences are ever exactly the same !.... OR they wouldn't be called experiences.

He said that wherever he was, "in this valley"... he felt comfortable and at home to say!....... that's because he had come from there originally, which means he was already out of lakh chaurasi before birth! (not sure if some of you will get this...can explain later)

Basically, the only way that he could move up from any of those heavens to sachkhand.. was by taking birth as a human again.... and from some of the heaven loks, you can actually do this by choice or will.

Human birth-existence, means---->>> live out or bhog your karams,, which are basically the weight that hold you into a realm.

However, his denial and complete lack of dharam (one of the four padaraths)----->>> predisposed him to the darker energies of ill-being and ill health.

But the biggie for him was the Blessing of GRACE and KIRPA by Akaal Purakh..........so that he got another chance to complete his duties.
This is HUKAM--->>>None of us can ever explain how or why.

This is what happens when you get thrown back into lack chaurasi again......the jamdoots come and club you with the iron dhandey, tie you up in shackles and lead you away as Kabirji says in gurbani.
You see, this guy was already out of the lack chaurasi from his previous janam, which is why he went straight into some lower/middle heaven lok--->>>since, he cam from there originally.

The other point is that as Guru Tegh Bahadurji describes...."This janam and life is just like a dream, when we wake up(which is when we die),-->> we realize that none of this life was real."

If you just imagine that when you are in a dream---->>It all seems quite real when you are in it...the people,.....the interactions,.... everything.... will seem like a reality in the dream state...... But, when you wake up-->>You realize that it wasn't real after all,.... it was just a dream, and now you are in the reality...dam-gotta getup in 30 mins and go to work
In the same manner,.... Death is like the waking up from this matrix illusion.

A reason why there is a difference within NDE descriptions is,.. because it depends on what and where you were from in previous janams.
Lakh chaurasi is the complete universal cycle and then there are all the heaven loks that go from lower to higher realms but there are some levels after which you cannot ascend unless you have human birth.

The ascension within realms can happen, but this is in the ones where jamdoots take you, where you have to realize, learn and accept all your dark wrongdoings.
So for eg,, you may end up in the dark pit of where all the murderer jivas are.... You will enjoy their company until you realise, accept and learn your own shortcomings and sin of murdering.....in doing so, you will be able to rise above the rest, as your inner light will get brighter.... then you move on to the next lessons.....and so on.....

The MAIN point that I can stress is that, when a soul jiva is in this Human Life form---->>> This is it's only chance to jap, meditate, get the one-pointed awareness......so that it can go straight --->>> Sachkhand.
The Direct one way plane ticket that Guru Nanak Ji has taught us-->>Nanak naam jahaz hai

In the Video, Mr Jaswal has got some idea about his mind-no thoughts-...etc...because he mentioned it a few times....But he hasn't quite said that he has deciphered the message that he must Jap and meditate. This is why he was given the second chance.

As I stated above, I don't go into details about my NDE on an open forum, but I can tell you all that the main message and duty that I came back for was ...Jap, Simran ..and bhagti on His Name.
That was the ONLY thing I knew I had to do but I had never done it previously. In fact, I was never even spiritually inclined in any way.........so it took me a couple of years to work out how to get going and do bhagti.

Good and valid points made by Lucky Jee above.

As the latiin saying goes: "mens sana in corpore sano" Which means, the body is healthy if the mind is healthy.

Healthy mind, also means, a mind which is balanced, bright and pure. Because only when the mind is balanced and bright can one walk and do the right things, and with a pure mind, we can become spotless enough, to merge in Him.

In the end, this love and devotion for Wahiguru is the key for our well being and true happiness.

Before classifying women or men as kaamees, we should be aware that the bodies of both genders are insentient, as they are made out of the 5 perishable tatwas .

There is a higher power, who does everything in those bodies, and that power is none other than the paapee"man" or mind.

Kaam is one of the 5 vaasnas or vices of this mind, who uses them as his servants to fulfill the task given to him by the Univerasl mind, which is of keeping the soul entangled in this Mayavee Maha Bhavsagar, by incurring forcefully in karmas. This creation is made in such a way, that it is almost impossible to not commit any karmas, whether bad or good.

Bad karmas are like irion chains around our necks, and good karmas are like golden chains around our necks also, we can not be free from them.

So it is the mind in both the genders, who seeks pleasures and tries to satisfy them. The womanizer has the filthy mind in him, which makes him see women with lustful looks...not that the women are lustful, maybe she is at sometimes...but it is the mind in the womanizer, which makes him feel that hunger of lust, and makes him run to satisfy that hunger by any means.

For example, a saint also has mind, but when he looks at a woman, as his mind is subdued and literally clean by the power of Naam, He sees the Jot of Wahiguru not only in women, but in all beings, so he looks with the glance of Daya and Meher, as these qualities are the very essence of Wahiguru, thus he having manifested Wahiguru within, his whole being radiates these virtues of Wahiguru.

It is the mind, which is lustful, which is egoistic, which is greedy, which is envy, which is "krodhee" and full of moh.

The mind is stained with all this filth.

The Bani says: Nimakh nimakh kar sareer kataveh, tou bhee haume mael na jaaveh.

On the contrary, the Bani fully instructs us, that the only infallible way of cleaning all this filth from our minds, is by making our minds drink the Amrit of Nam, through its simran.

Wahiguru is all powerful, only He and the Gurmukhs are beyond the tentacles of maya, mind, and vikaars ...

So in order to overcome all this negative effects of the mind on us, we have to do pargat Wahiguru within us by His grace.

The Bani says: Har simran meh Prabh aap Nirankara.

Doing His Simran is not a small thing, He has Himself hidden in it, so naturally when we meditate on Him, He unfolds Himself in us.

This is the jugtee put into practice by all Saints and Gurmukhs of all times, it is safe, effective and universal, means anybody can profit by it, there are no copyrights on it, rather it is blessing upon us by Akal Purukh.

    Sat Sree Akal.

Satkirin, I would rather say God is genderless instead of being both. Because gender is associated with 'joon' (incarnations, life forms) while God is above that thus above gender.

It actually doesn't mean womaniser ?
It's because the message is as if, God is telling Farid about the body pleasures....but the message has NO differentiation between Man's or Women's pleasures !

Can paapiman actually think for himself, or does he have to rely on what someone else has written ?
Isn't that called 'blind faith' ?

Simple message is that "The body that enjoys these bodily pleasures will die"
The pleasures of love that you can have for the lord, are eternal.
