Guest jee - Please list to what sampradas they belonged to. How many of the above are associated with sects, which trace their origins to tenth master?
If 100 people belonging to the same cult believe in a concept, then it only effectively counts as one vote.

There wasn't one million Mughals. The Sri Zafarnama is written in poetry and the number 1 million is used as a rhetorical device to suggest that the Singhs were heavily outnumbered.

Papiman, why so obsessed with satkiran? Let's just ignore her if we cannot agree with her views. It's childish, we all have a different opinion, nor can we change someones. I am a jhatka eating, bhang drinking sikh, no one will convince me otherwise what I do is wrong. Those who disgree...well let them jump in a ditch. Let's all concentrate on ourselves rather than others.

Paapiman, agree to disagree, and let this go.
You've both presented your points of view, now let it rest (maybe? ).

"When you seriously start studying history you discover all manner of hidden things. The point you made (highlighted above) isn't true according to Bhangu's Panth Prakash.
He explicitly mentions how the Khalsa tolerated the smoking of someone who was part of the Moghul government but an undercover sehaj-dhari Sikh. His name was Kaura Mal. This guy would forewarn the Khalsa of impending Moghul attacks and send supplies when they were surrounded. Apparently they made him pay fines for his smoking huqqa but he was well loved.
This IS NOT (!!!) any attempt on my part to justify, encourage, excuse smoking before anyone jumps on that wagon! I'm just exploring what I've discovered whilst exploring my own literary heritage!
I think what has happened today is that the Sikh masses have been so conditioned by a particular, white washed account of their history that many have sadly become incapable of exploring their own beautiful and rich literary heritage because they experience hardcore dissonance with what they sometimes encounter because it is so different from their preconceptions of the past. It's sad really but very common. "

I think a lot of it wasn't down to people being British agents but rather being influenced by the ideas/culture of the then ruling classes; which was a very conservative, Eurocentric, protestant christian world view which viewed the 'Hindoo' as some inferior lesser breed worthy of contempt. Throw in divide and conquer strategies in the mix too.
A lot of our lot bought into these ideas to varying degrees.
It's only during this period that we start seeing desperate attempts to distance ourselves from all things perceived as Hindu. A lot of sidelining and outright misrepresentation of old granths which include the Dasam Granth; the editing of granths to remove references that were found to be inconvenient to the then thinking.

"Teja Singh Bhasauria was an employee of the British Government. He was given a School and funding to finance both the school and a printing press by the British. He intended to change Gurbani as directed to him by his British employees and his own ideas that were against the Hindu religion or any association to Hinduism in Gurbani. This has been recorded in history both by Prof sahib Singh, and by the fact that a Hukamnama ex-communicated him from the Akal Takht."

When did the Sikhs begin to build bunge around Harimandir Sahib? Akal Bunga is the earliest name of Akal thakht.
I just checked Giani Gian Singh's Twarikh Amritsar from the late 1800s. It mentions the names of all the bunge and gives information on each of them. He lists 48 bunge build in the 1700s starting from late 1750s.. He does'nt mention a bunga named Morali..
Maybe the Morali bunga was from the period prior to Abdalis destruction of Harimandir Sahib?

The medicine INDUSTRY is all about Money. Its not about curing people. They profit from sick people. More and more people are turning towards alternative medicine these years because they see and feel the benefits of natural medicine.
In fact its quite weird to call it "alternative medicine" when it has been used for thousands of years.... Modern medicine is the alternative medicine - it only has some 100 years of history behind it,.

Agree there are many Hindu's who have much more shradha in gurughars than sikhs. recently I went to my relative's house and I saw wedding card which has a name of hindu man and sikh woman. My chachi told me that this guy lives in front of her house . he wears a turban and keep uncut hair. he do immense sewa in gurdwara yet he do not have singh in his name and his entire family is hindu
Hindu's were one of the main supply line of providing converts to sikhism .Because of handful of anti sikh hindu's ,sikhs shooed away plenty of converts and are running after their own children to keep sikhi alive .Many of the these born sikhs don't even care about it

We very proudly show one of the cases but millions of hindus out there condemn 84 events in the same voice and have always been contributing to Guru Ghars have we ever given them credit? We will go ahead to curse them for any sick reason
