As times change, we change. Currently it is not possible to always wear bana and kamarkassa with sri sahib and katar, keep tail behind us, learning horseriding in most of the mordern world and therefore I think nowadays kirpan is mostly used as a symbol but one should respect shastars as swaroops of akaal purkh jee and pujan sevan should be by sharda.

it is not compulsory for kirtan to be done in raags all the time but haazri of raags must be done, meaning one raag shabad is compulsory before staring a dharna.

Baba Nand Singh Ji was asked by his murshad/teacher Baba MahaHarnam Singh Ji Bhucho wale to have a portrait of Guru Nanak Sahib prepared which most accurately symbolizes Guru Sahib. There were many portraits of Guru Nanak Sahib in which he is seen pointing upwards, eyes rolled up, etc. Baba Ji wanted a picture in which when ever you look at the photo , it seems as if Guru Sahib is looking right at you.  So Baba Nand Singh Ji according to the hukam of his Murshad/ teacher gave some pointers to a painter in Jagraon on how the painting should look . The painter made several versions before Baba ji finally approved the painting that most accurately symbolized Guru Sahib. In one version of sakhi, it is also said that the painter had the darshan of Guru Sahib which helped him in making the painting.
Gurbani says  tere banke loyan dant risala sohne nakk jinne lamde vala, kanchan kaya soyne ki dhala....
The Golden prakash and the golden clothes are based on kanchan kaya sone ki dhala. This is something that can be experienced by those who have had the darshan or practical experience. It was very interesting to note when I came across the practical experience of Bhai Dharmjit Singh Gurmat Meditation who talked about his exprience of Golden Parkash, and in anyway he is not related to Nanaksar Samparda.
One hand has mala in it, it symbolizes Bhagti, and to do Bhagti. The other hand is hidden.
One foot is exposed with padam in it, this is for Sikhs to meditate upon and do sewa of. The other foot is hidden, and is for everyone else(other creation) besides humans to do sewa of.
The photo is more of a symbolic representation, to do dhyana of charan kamal , and use as an aid, as a reminder to think about Guru Ji, and as a beginner. ,
imo I also want to mention that no one can create an exact photo of Nirankar Rabb Ji Guru Nanak Sahib, but its more of a symbolic aid to help devotees. And there have been countless stories in past who had darshan of Guru Nanak Sahib through the photo during Baba Nand Singh Ji and Baba Ishar Singh Jis times.

One time a devotee brought a saroop of Guru Nanak Sahib which was not the same painting. Baba ji closed his eyes and bowed to it. Someone asked why did you bow to it, its not even a true saroop of Guru Sahib. Baba Nand Singh ji, the greatest Brahmgyani of all, whose name is mentioned by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji in Sau Sakhi as a lead, Nand Singh Garja Singh Aadi Jin laaj panth ki saaji...said that whatever reminds us of our beloved Guru Ji deserves respect and bowing down to.
So if you dont bow down to a photo, that's fine. No one will force you. But its not the absolute right thing to do either. Hopefully, with time you will realize.
I also came across another person who is not related to Nanaksar, Mangal Singh Dhillon youtube channel. He talks about his conversations with God, how he came across a divine power, a divya purush Omkar Ji maharah. He told him that real saroop of Guru Nanak Sahib resembles the paintings in Nanaksar Jagraon.

Daas understands your point, but GURBANI is our SATGURU. Any doubt on any GURBANI is a much BIGGER issue as compared to the other issues, which you mentioned in the post above.
JFYI, Dharna wala kirtan is NOT Kachi Bani. If that is Kachi Bani, then Dhadi Vaaran and Kavishar (which were both started by our Satgurus) themselves were also Kachi Banis.
Also, the photo used at Nanaksar is NOT a fake photo. It was made under the supervision of a Gurmukh Brahamgyani (Sant Baba Nand Singh jee Maharaaj).
If you want to discuss the above two issues in more details, please post in the relevant topic or you can start a new topic, if you want.
    Thanks a lot

And you think that writing cannot be manipulated? Did you know that in Sri gur partap Suraj Granth there is no mention of giving Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji getting the gur gaddi. Go ahead and try to find it but you won't. There is a Sri gur partap Suraj Granth in I think it's Nepal or someplace like that sant hari Singh randhawa vale knows where. In that Granth there is writings about giving gaadi to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sri gur partaap Suraj Granth also didn't write about giving Amrit to bibi's so do you believe that as well?
Did you know that kavi Ji had 4 writers helping him with Sri gur partap Suraj Granth. They were supplied by the raja of I think was it nabha or patiala and those writers were corrupted by the British. In Sri gur partap Suraj Granth there are writings that write guru Ji had earings and did opium etc. These type of things were written by the 4 writers who were helping kavi Ji. So was the Raag Mala thing. I have gotten this info from true mahapurkhs who I met who have seen visions.
Another thing that proves that kavi Ji does believe in Raag Mala. Kavi Ji was a student of head granthi of harimander sahib and jathedar of Damdami Taksal Gyani Sant Singh Ji. Now you tell me would gyani sant Singh teach kavi Ji Raag Mala is not gurbani and then teach his successor that it is gurbani?
Regarding bhai randhir Singh I respect him cause in taksali books and I think it was in sant gyani kartar Singh Ji bhindranvale's book that said bhai sahib later on did start believing in Raag Mala like how bhai vir Singh later on started believing in Raag Mala. I know no akj will believe me but I trust the taksal and Sants who did write it.
I bet you won't believe anything I write here I'm just writing what I have learnt, read, and heard in my life.

Sri Aad Gurbani can also be used to prove that keeping Kesh is not needed, but we still have to follow the Rehatname (which state the importance of Kesh).
We must not hate any colors, but we must try to follow our uniform code (as stated in the Rehatname).

I think we all know that since sgpc came in control of Akaal takht many puran hukamnaamas and maryadas have been changed. There is a hukamnaama that sampat akhand path shouldnt be done but sampath path maryada was started by dasve patshah and pargat one again by Baba Nand Singh jee. According to me one who doesnt believe in raagmala is not a sikh, waho waho baani nirankaar hai.

It is not compulsory for Sikhs to keep Sarbloh bibek, I remember a sakhi that I read in Anand Chamatkaar and was told to my family by behengam Singhs that steel and clean utensils, covering face and daadi, clean rasoi, reciting baani or gurmantar while preparing food is the maryada while preparing parshada thaal for guru jee. I know for a fact that Sarbloh rehat is not compulsory because I have seen a pooran mahapurkh eat food in non sarbloh utensil.

Sampat Paath of Sri Japjee Sahib jee is done along with the Sampat Akhand Path at Nanaksar Gurughars. At Nanaksar, the sampat shabad is "Aaukhee ghaRee na dhekhan dheiee apanaa biradh samaale"
    Below is the vidhi:
It starts off with recitation of mool mantars (15 times) Then recite the sampat (mool mantar + shabad of your choice) Then recite mool mantar At the end of the mool mantar - Recite the sampat Then say "Satnaam Sri Waheguru" at the ank 1 ("Satnaam Sri Waheguru" is recited at every ank) Then recite the sampat again Next recite the first Pauri At the end of the first Pauri - Recite the sampat Then say "Satnaam Sri Waheguru" at the ank 1 Then recite sampat again Next recite second pauri At the end of the second pauri - Recite the sampat Then say "Satnaam Sri Waheguru" at the ank 2 Then recite sampat again Next recite the third pauri and so on...............
When you reach ank no. 38, recite Satnaam Sri Waheguru
Then recite Sampat Then say the word "Shalok" Then recite Sampat again Then read the shalok "Pavan Guroo Paanee Pitaa Mata Dharat Mahat........." At the end of the shalok, say "Satnaam Sri Waheguru" at the ank 1 Then Sampat again

Guransh SIngh reacted to SunnySingh in Who, When and Where Were Women Baptised
Though this is quite an old thread, yet I have just come across it and found some interesting points in it.
First of all, Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj, is Waheguru Himself.
Secondly, all creatures, whether males or females, are just coverings on the spiritual beings called jeev atmas or souls, which are essentially all drops of the One and only Truth: Satnam.
Do you really think, Guru Jee will not initiate/baptize someone just because of their gender?
He is an Infinite Ocean of Mercy, how can anyone think or believe, that just because if some soul is born as woman, has not the same rights as me to saved? It is just ridiculous.
It is not being born as a man or woman, which counts in His eyes, for He sees all as a projection of His Jot.
Guru Gobind Singh, and all Guru Sahiban, just as all Bhagat Jan, come into this creation, with the Water/Amrit of Truth, of Nam, anybody who practices it, gets ferried across.

    What does baptism really mean?
Is it not, that one accepts Waheguru as the Highest and eternal Truth, and promises to do all the needful with purity, love and devotion, in order to manifest Him within and merge in Him?
    Then?
How is that a woman, for  just being born as a woman, has no right to get her soul saved?
    Does it not sound ridiculous?
Sikhee, is path which leads to Him, irrespective of who walks on it, whether a woman or a man, for in reality it is none of them, for the bodies of both are left here as ashes, it is the ray soul of Waheguru, which treads that path of Love and merge into that Infinite Ocean of love and mercy.
Please let us first understand well  what Guru Sahiban are in reality, and what is their message from Akal Purukh for us as souls, before making any baseless statements/questions.
Following are some Satbachans of Guru Sahiban, which in simple and clear words describe what are their teachings in summary for all times and all beings:
jay vad bhaag hoveh vadbhaagee taa har har naam Dhi-aavai.
If someone is very fortunate, and is blessed with great high destiny, then he meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
naam japat naamay sukh paavai har naamay naam samaavai. ||1||
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, he finds peace, and merges in the Naam
Guru Sahiban, do not come to create divisions nor drown us with nonsense/ignorance.
They only come with the lamp of His Name/Nam, so that walking with this Light, we may cross the creation of untruth and reach the abode of the eternal truth of Satnam.
That is why, Guru Sahiban in the second verse tells us, if we repeat/chant His Name, one literally merges in Nam, and beileve it, these words are not of any gyani  bahman, or pandit.... but rather the very manifestation of Waheguru, Guru Sahiban.

I guess that we all agree that Baba Nand Singh ji is the shiromani of all sant mahapursh and himself got his divine knowledge by Guru sahib. Well, he never said that women should be given Kirpan di pahul, khande di pahul is for each and every Sikh or Sikhni. Guru Gobind Singh jee loved women as his daughters and Mai Bhago jee and Mata jee and many other women were shastardhari and part of the Khalsa fauj. In Nanaksar under Baba Gurdev Singh jee, khande di pahul is administered to everyone irrespective of gender. So kyon manda akkhiye jit jamai raajaan
