Guransh SIngh got a reaction from GurjantGnostic in Practical Ways Of Avoiding Lust
    WJKK WJKF
Even I struggle a lot with lust and man ki mail and I would like too share some bachans of Baba Nand Singh ji which have really helped me in this fight against such a formidable enemy:
    1. Always do ardaas to guru sahib that "Baba ji saada imtihaan na lao asi sada fail haa" translating to Guru jee please don't take my test, I will always fail. Do rehem on me.
    2. Once Baba ji was disturbed in his meditation by kaljug who told him that why are you not letting me do my work, this is my yug, I have to put people in maya's grasp and you are propagating naam jaap and amrit chhakna and pushing people away from maya and making me powerless thus in the process, then he said that I would have already put a stop to you if you didn't have the pehra of sukhmani sahib. Then baba ji smiled and thanked him that you yourself informed me of what you are scared of and that's why in nanaksar, sukhmani sahib path is done 24/7.
Therefore, always have pehra of sukhmani sahib, it is the pragat bani saroop of satnaam. If not able to do full path, atleast do some astpadis in a day because sukhmani sahib is very beneficial and kaljug is scared of the powerful bani.
    3. " kaljug pehla nitnem chudanda hai, je tuhada nitnem pakka hai kaljug tuhada kuch nhi vigad sakda" translating kaljug first makes you leave nitnem, if you are steadfast in your nitnem kaljug cannot do anything to you. Therefore to protect yourself from the powerful grasp of kaljug and 5 vikaars, we shoulf never leave shelter of nitnem which protects us in ways we cannot even imagine.

Guransh SIngh got a reaction from GurjantGnostic in Why are shastar kept in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji?
"Guru granth jee maaneyo pragat gura ki deh"
Guru granth sahib jee, as per hukam of dasve patshah should be regarded as the pragat saroop of the ten gurus. Thus parshaada bhog, kamarkasa karna, prakash is done in v shape saroop which is how one sits cross-legged. Therefore, as per maryada, since dasve patshaah used to adorn shastars and was shastardhaari, there should;d atleast be one shastar with saroop and if there is only one shastar, it has to be a kirpaan. This is the answer I got when I asked some behengems at nanaksar the question.

After Baba Nand Singh ji left their body, Baba Ishar Singh Ji left Nanaksar jagraon , and went to Dehradun & Jhorran to do intense bhagti and sadhana. Baba Isher singh ji were in vairag of their malik all the time.
With the Hukam of Baba Nand Singh ji , Baba Isher Singh Ji were asked to return back to Nanaksar jagraon and build a beautiful  house of Guru Nanak ie Nanaksar Gurdwara.   Baba Isher Singh ji said that in your time everything was kachha, if we build pakki building, Sangat will do itraz.  Baba Nand Singh ji said dont' worry we will get the seva done from Varun Devta meaning Water.  In those times,  great flood came in Punjab. All the kachhi biuldings were swept away.
Thus, as per Hukam of Baba Nand Singh Ji, Baba Isher Singh ji got the sewa done of Nanaksar Gurdwara Jagraon , hence the beautiful Sangmarmar on a large scale. This sewa was for Guru Nanak Sahib.  The sarovar was built in 28 days , which the architects were saying would take approximately a year. Even devi devte and Hari came to take part in Sewa.   santa ke karaj aap khloya har kam kravan aya raam
So like a saputar Dhan Dhan Baba Isher Singh Ji established & did parchar of his malik & murshad Dhan Dhan Baba Nand Singh JI.

As per many mahapurush, When jaap goes into surti automatically it becomes faster & has more phal. We have to start with loud chanting first.

After listening to many Mahapurush,Kathavachaks etc, and reading books,  the appropriate response would be that keep at it, keep doing naam simran, you will realize everything from within, Guru is within, all the pleasant & blissful sensations are a blessing.  Mind will go through various phases, sometimes chardikala sometimes not so much, sometimes bliss sometimes surrounded by kaam, krodh etc. Just keep at it.

In Gurbani, there are various mentions of 4 directions, also Harimandir Sahib has 4 gates for all the four castes and the 4 directions, in bani 14 worlds are mentioned, 7 skies and 7 underworlds are mentioned but that doesnt mean that all those are for Earth.
All scientific evidence says that the Earth is round, that's how seasons are explained. in Kirtan sohila, Guru Nanak Dev Ji points towards the fact that all seasons change due to the sun.

Veerji apologies for what I wrote earlier. I talked with a Behengam and he said that Sikhs should atlwast be Bibeki if not following a Sarbloh Bibek. We should not eat from restaurants often and totally avoid unhygienic food since it has a affect on our mind and our avastha. Eating jhootha of a non amritdhari is totally prohibited in Gursikhi, if it happens take maafi from Guru jee and partake amrit again after doing whatever dand panj pyares tell.

Sree Guru Gobind Singh and Far-Sighted Bhikhan Shah

In 1666 AD Guru Tegh Bahadur was on a tour of India. He was preaching to the oppressed and frightened population to break the bonds of tyranny. All the young and old of the country knew him. Prince Gobind Rai was born on the 22nd December 1666.
The news of his birth spread throughout the country. Pir Bhikhan Shah who viewed both Hindus and Muslims alike, also came to know the birth of the Guru's son. The Pir was a renowned Muslim saint. He was a resident of the village Gharam in district Ambala.
A desire to see the Guru's son arose in the holy man's heart. Taking some of his followers with him, he proceeded towards Patna. Undergoing hardships on the way, the Pir reached Patna in two months.
He requested Kirpal Chand the uncle of the Guru's son for the glimpse of the child. Guru Tegh Bahadur was still on his tour of Assam.
Uncle Kirpal Chand said to the Pir, “Nobody can have the glimpse of the child as long as the child's father does not see his son first.”
On hearing this, the Pir went on hunger strike and squated before the door. After a few days, Kirpal Chand took pity on the condition of the Pir and granted him permission to see the Prince.
The Pir was very pleased to behold Prince Gobind Rai.
To see whether Prince Gobind Rai, on growing up, will love more Hindus or Muslims, he placed before him two small earthen pots, one filled with water and the other with milk. In his mind, he assigned the pot containing milk to Hindus and that with water to Muslims.
The Prince who loved all and was loved by everybody, placed his hands on both the pots. The Pir understood that he would give equal love and respect to both the religions.
The Pir called for a third pot and presented it to the Prince.
The child Guru placed his tender right hand on it. The Pir concluded from it that having equal respect for the two, he will create a third faith.
The wish of the Pir was fulfilled. He returned to his hermitage at Gharam with his followers. Prince Gobind Rai stopped for a night at Gharam with him on his way to Anandpur from Patna, several years later.

Can doing nam simran really wash off sins away??

    Brother Thelost soul,
as per the question of this your thread, the best and most complete answer can be given by Guru Jee alone, let´s see what does Panchvee Patshahee say in the following verses:
kilvikh sabh dokh binaasan har naam japee-ai gur mantan kai.
All sins and sufferings are erased, chanting the Lord's Name, under Guru's Instructions.
moh sog vikaar bikh-rhay japat naam uDhaarano.
Emotional attachment, sorrow, corruption and pain - chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, one is saved from these.

At other place Guru Jee says:
raam naam bin mukath n hoee kith bidh paar langhaaee hae |14|
Without the Lord's Name, liberation is not obtained; how can anyone cross over?

So to summarize, you can well see how Guru Jee says that, all sins can erased  by the jaap of Nam, then He goes a step still further and in the third verse, He is telling us that, no matter what other practices you may do, or how many times you may spend in doing them, but keep in mind that, without repeating His holy Nam, liberation can never ever be achieved.
Such is the supreme importance of Nam japna as per Gurmat.

    * Then regarding your other question of that if Nam japna will protect you from bad people....
Well, frankly speaking, the Lord has openly and abundantdly  given the sense of discrimination, so let us make use of it.
We all know what is good or bad, so why blame others?
Be bold, be strong, in order to avoid bad company. If you become weak, people will take advantage of you and drag you downhill.
Suppose you see a tiger or a lion from a relative distance, what will you do? Will you not try to go far away and secure yourself, or will you allow these beasts to come near enough to devour you? It is a matter of common sense, to protect oneself.
Same applies to bad or good sangat. Seek good sangat, and shun away from the bad one.
Waheguru is merciful on you, by allowing you to realize your mistakes, so learn from them,  to avoid falling down again.  Then bro, His mercy will always fall upon you.
Be brave, lovingly hold on to the only  existing Truth, His holy Name, and He himself will pull you out from the terrible and sickening mayavee bhavsagar.

Do not pay much attention to what others do or say, but diligently follow only what Guru Jee says, because in the end it is by putting into practice/action the pure teachings of Guru Jee only, which will ferry you across, from here or wherever to Sach Khand.
Guru Jee is the only  perfect teacher of  the Truth only, rest of us all are just manmukh moorakhs.
Such is beant the wadeeayee of Guru Jee and Gurmat.

Next time you post, would like to hear from you that you are walking on the straight road of purity and morality.

    May God bless you.

    No problem bro.
If a person is thinking about Vikars, while preparing food, then that (thinking process) has a subtle effect on the food. Any person who eats that food might feel the negative effect of the Vikars on his/her mind. For example, if someone is doing Ninda while preparing food, then the consumption of that food might effect your mind and you might also feel like doing Ninda of someone (whom you don't like).
That is why, Bibek Rehat is very important. Amritdharis should do Naam Simran, while preparing food. Amritdharis must never eat Jhoota of anyone.
According to a Purantan Rehatnama, a Behangam Singh must also avoid eating food prepared by a lady (possibly other than your mother, sister, etc).
