    Waheguru jee kaa Khalsa
    Waheguru jee kee Fateh

There was a Gurmukh mother during the times of third master. She used to live in Afghanistan and she was married with one child. She used to come to have darshan of Maharaaj and do seva. People observed that she used to move her arm. When someone asked her, she informed him/her that she was moving the cot of her baby. People thought she was mastani in love of God. Once, Maharaaj called her and told her to explain herself. What used to happen was that, she used to live in Afghanistan, which is pretty far away from Punjab (if one is traveling by foot). It would be very hard for her to come everyday to have darshan of Maharaaj and do seva. Therefore, when she would be in Afghanistan, she would focus on the feet of the third master and she would reach Punjab in very less time (sort of time travel). Then, once all seva was done, she used to focus on the feet of her husband, to reach back Afghanistan in a very short period of time.

This sakhi shows us the tremendous power of pati-varta women.

P.S - Please don't start arguing over the authenticity of this sakhi. If someone does not want to believe in it, it's their choice. There is reference to time travel in Gurbani. The ability to move or pass something from one place to another, through the power of concentration in very less time.

    Three more points regarding women.

Firstly, Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj decides to form his body inside a woman. Again, this gave honor to the women. He could have just appeared like Bhagwan Narsingh jee Maharaaj.

Secondly, the first woman to have darshan (also kirpa) of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj was a woman, named Mata Daulatan.

Thirdly, the first Sikh is also a woman, which is Mata Bebe Nankee jee.

Great uplifting of women by Satguru jee from very low levels to great heights.

Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev jee Maharaaj.

Baba hari Singh randhawa is doing katha at malton gurduwara in ontario canada and a few day ago he started this topic about women taking Amrit.. How can mata sahib Kaur be Khalsa do mata when she herself did not take Amrit? In suraj pratap/Prakash Granth there is no mention that Bibis took Amrit but in the same Granth there is no mention of guru gobind Singh Ji giving gurgaddi to Guru Granth Sahib Ji.. Does that mean we should stop believing ing Guru Granth Sahib Ji? Baba hari Singh also said that the daily dairy writer of guru gobind Singh Ji ( i think his name is heera Singh or hari Singh but I'm not sure) wrote every thing that happened each day up until 1708 when guru Ji joti jot smagey and his Granth is called Jodh Pothi... In that Granth the daily diary writer wrote that mata Gujjar Kaur and immediate family members INCLUDING women took Amrit in 1699.. Mata sahib kaur did not take Amrit on 1699 because she came 1 year and 18 days after 1699 and when she came she took Amrit...

So I think there is no more debate..

Not really, its our own lack of understanding. If from ocean various waves arises spontaneously effortlessly, why cannot from God (creator of whole creation) various forms arises and subsides effortlessly spontaneously just like waves are arisen from ocean and subsides in ocean quite effortlessly spontaneously

All is god, god is all. God is expressing itself through creation while being unborn. It just like awareness, while awareness is same-substratum is same there are many forms arises and subsides in the same awareness, its god expression of truth.

Our first statement talks about absolute reality leaving no duality understanding. Ikonakar is great statement of full realization of absolute truth

~Ik Oankar ~ One universal Eternal Absolute unchanged Awareness Being-Light-Knowledge- God- all in one, one in all- embodiment of stillness awareness, expressing itself in its movement - creating, preserving and changing creation spontaneously effortlessly.

    Which is
Satnam- Eternal Truth Pure Existence Kartapurkh- Creative consciousness Nirbhauo- No fear- fearless as there is only one in all, all in one- fear from what? There is NO other. Ikoankar is all, all is ikoankar Nirvair- No enemy of anyone- since its only one in all, all in one, there is no enemy. Akaal Moorat- Timeless Being which is one being in all, all in one- One-JOT-Light-pure knowledge form. Ajooni- Unborn non dual pure awareness being all in one, one in all. Gurparsad- Pure consciousness/awareness bliss is realized by grace of true Guru-Satguru-sargun-manifested Guru in form of sri guru granth sahib/ invisible alive SatGuru within all- bestowed grace.

All languages are worthy of respect. though, even with the above, I don't believe hindi should be given more reverence than any other language used in the Guru's baani (Aad, Dasam, Sarbloh). But you are right, I mean, it's a bit silly hating a language

Hindi is one of the languages used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj. It is used a lot in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj (Brij Bhasha is a dialect of Hindi).
Punjabi was in use even before the incarnation of God - Satguru Sri Guru Nanak dev jee Maharaaj in Punjab. Punjabi and Gurumukhi are two different terms. Satguru gave us a new script called Gurumukhi. One can write any language in that script.
Additionally, Shromani Bhagat Baba Kabeer jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Jaidev jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ramanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Parmanand jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Soordaas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
Bhagat Ravidas jee Maharaaj's Gurbanee is in Hindi.
That is why i believe that Hindi should be very dear to Sikhs. I seriously can't believe that some Sikhs seem to hate Hindi. Not only Hindi, but other languages like Urdu, Persain, Arabic, Sindhi, Marathi, etc(the ones used in Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee Maharaaj) should all be respected greatly by Sikhs.
Additionally, not all Sikhs are Punjabi (they are majority though). There are Afghan Sikhs (mother tongue - Pashto), Sindhi Sikhs (mother tongue - Sindhi), North Indian Sikhs (mother tongue - Hindi), White Sikhs (mother tongue - English/Spanish), Kashmiri Sikhs (mother tongue - Kashmiri), etc. All these Sikhs have a right to be proud of their mother tongue and speak it proudly at Gurudwaras or anywhere else. Khalsa jee, if I am wrong, please let me know. Waheguru jee kaa Khalsa Waheguru jee kee Fateh

One day he went into soo much bairaag to merge with vahiguroo ji that he decided to stay infront of sant jvala singh ji harkhowale bhagti bhora sahib. He said he will keep staying and sing glory of vahiguroo ji until sant jvala singh ji harkhowale merges him with itself- supreme cosmic consciousness Vahiguroo. He call out vahiguroo ji name in most emotional profound manner than even hard core criminals murders heart would melt by hearing his voice. He would literally stay in dog posture and call out vahiguroo ji name literally as dog is crying at night in pain. Hum kokar tere darbar || This emotional episode went out for couple of months. Lot of locals would cry hearing his story. One of close sevaks of sant jvala singh ji harkhowale talked to sant ji regarding this tyaagi bairaagi sadhu who just need small light to enlighten his hirda. Sevak asked sant ji- if he heard him. Even though sant jvala singh harkhowale knew everything sponteously- baba ji said no as test, sevak asked- please baba ji do kirpa on him we cannot stand any more his pain. Sant maharaj baba jvala singh ji replied, you know what he is asking for? He is not asking for worldly things, he is asking for bhramgyan di datt. This is not a joke. Then sant maharaj ji went to other village for parchar, but even during sant jvala singh ji harkhowale absence- this bairaagi sadhu would not miss one day always call out vahiguroo ji name in dog posture as kokar, sing vahiguroo ji in pain as dog crying out in pain- infront of sant jvala singh ji harkhowale bhora sahib. When sant jvala singh harkhowale returned, finally he was called in by sant ji and sant ji told him he passed his test and hugged him, with his amrit bhramgyan dristhi he was given bhramgyan. After bhramgyan, bairaagi sadhu stayed at sant ji bhora sahib would go with sant jvala singh harkhowale in nirvakalp sun samadhi state (dvai ek roop avastha) for weeks and months along always with sehaj jevan mukht avastha. http://www.awakin.org/read/view.php?tid=750

Only when you turn attention to awareness itself, there isn't anything behind it. That's what returning to the source means. It means that nothing is next. There's nothing behind it. With a thought there's always something behind it. There's always the awareness of thought. So awareness is behind it. With a feeling there's always something behind it. With the conditioned tendency there's always something behind it. There's always awareness behind everything that's perceivable. Everything that's thinkable. There's always something behind it: namely that awareness. Spirit. To 'look within' doesn't mean to look for something really amazing to happen. To look for the states of consciousness to change. That's not what look within means. Have any of you looked within like that? I've spent so many hours looking within that way - not thousands, tens of thousands of hours looking within. And I was looking ... the same way we look outside. You know, like we're looking for something. And so you look inside. It's a great teaching, but then what do you do? You tend to look for stuff. Look for really groovy spiritual stuff to happen. Right? It's the same looking. It's not really different than looking for a million bucks, or a hot looking guy or gal or success. It's just looking for inner stuff. And there's a world of inner things and experiences, just like there's an outer world of things to look for. But the inner world, it's not any more real or significant then the outer world. So to look within doesn't mean that, to look within in a way that you're looking for something. Looking for a treasure. It means to go to the root. And the root is the looking itself. To turn within is to turn to that which is looking. So that we find out for ourselves that there isn't anybody that's looking! Looking is looking. There isn't someone there called 'me' that's behind awareness that's aware. Awareness is aware. It's the opposite: I'm not aware; awareness is aware of me. And this is quite a shock when you really come upon it! This is really 'one without a second' as Ramana (Maharshi) used to say. That the self is one without a second. Without a second means: nothing behind it. No deeper return to go to. You've returned to your natural state. In Zen we used to call it 'taking the backward step.' We (generally) want to take the forward step: to pursue, to seek, to find. But the backward step is very simple ... return to what you are. Till that flash of recognition dawns, that awareness itself is what you are. Just like the flash of lightning in an empty sky - a spontaneous flash! The easiest thing in spirituality is for it to become complex, instead of simple. But this is a very simple thing which is why it can penetrate so deeply. So quickly. So immediately. --Adyashanti

I have been doing Simran regularly for over 3 years now...thoughts are always there to distract you...they become less...but sometimes all it takes is a turbulent moment in life and thoughts litter your mind during Simran..

but this is ok...it means we have not yet learned to curb negative emotions in life situatons so it helps us determine what we need to work on in a wakeful state.

on my short journey s far, there are other distractions, sights and sounds that can distract you...best thing i leant is to just be a 'witness' to the experience...take it in, learn from it, then move on...

very easy to get entangled and attached to experiences and then our wakeful day is spent searching the internet for answers to what it was...

ridhs and sidhs can start to develop but again..what are we after...Waheguru or desires for supernatural powers? if its supernatural powers, our progress will be halted...if its waheguru, then we keep moving forward...and supernatural powers may still arive but we are now working under wahegurus will...rather than using those supernatural powers for our selfish needs.

Thank you sir for the reply and the insight,
I'll try scanning more pages if I can or take pictures, as you can see the second one is in very poor shape and the pages very delicate and brittle.

All I can tell is that these along with some other family heirlooms were passed down to my grandmother from her family,
she used to say that these were giving as a gift to her ancestors from the founding members of some "misls".
she was very protective of these and also asked me not to give these to anyone whatsoever,
Her family were of landowners in peshawar before the partion of india, her grandfather was in british army and her father was a physics professor at fc college, Lahore.
After the partition they moved to Amritsar, India and then after sometime to South-Africa.

Here are profound questions / riddles / self enquiry asked by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to his Sikhs:

These questions below are meant to be explored, inquired, contemplated in Meditation..they may look very simple to our egoic mindset but it cannot be conceptually answered by conceptual mind but deeply inquired within during meditation- answer you will quickly get verbally like in form of thought or scholarly knowledge by conceptual mind/thoughts needs to be abandoned as mind will try to trick you by providing its own pre conditioned/ pre conceived notion/ conditioned response (it may be right answer but this isn't point..this is not mind exercise, point is answer needs to be felt by intuition out of our egoic conditioned mindset ). Any answer you will receive in meditation via spiritual divine insight is right way to start and from there you will notice growth in your bibek- clear understanding, pure perception which helps significantly in spiritual growth, deep spiritual inquiry and transcendence. Sri Guru Nanak dev ji said...if you want to play this game of love with me.....
so many sights and sounds to entice us in this world...yet the soul thirsts for waheguru...like a husband missing his wife...like a wife missing her husband...a mother missing her child..

this to me is the true driving force...

all methods, techniques are still in the realm of maya...love goes beyond...my love will be heard by waheguru, my thirst will be felt by waheguru, the rest is in His hands...and so comes the surrendering to his Will..surrender everything..and with it Ego will start to lose its power on you...

    just my thoughts ji..
