With due respect to your devotion, of whatever little i have known of Sikhi is. There is respect for the Avatars however worship of any individual Avatar is not in the concept. When you come across names of the various Avatars in Sri Aad Guru Granth Sahib ji, the Bhagats and Guru Sahibs refer to them in context of Akaal Parmatma. 
Also in Sanatan Dharam, the Vedas focus on Nirankaar is what is i have heard. I have heard my father using the terms Microcosm and Macrocosm. The Avatars are the Microcosm is what i have understood. 

As you all know i come from a Hindu background and i have had my arguments with the types of RSS as to why the Sikh should be distinct. I explained them that if the Sikhs teach their children they are Hindus why would their children maintain the 5 kakkars? It will be like more and more cases of kesh kattal..the child will want to argue as to why should he maintain kes if even without them he is a hindu . The identity of the Sikh should be always distinct. Taksaal and Puratan Sampradaa maintain the umbilical chord of the connectivity to the Puratan dharam which i feel is enough to connect to the Indic identity.

 

Also veer ji i remember another time when i was at a outdoor event for a samgam in London as there were quite a lot of Sikh stalls selling dharamic stuff i wanted a large size english roman gutka with panj banis as that one at the time was small to read and my eyes would hurt. 
 
So anyway i am asking a few people if they sell any gutkas in english. 
 
One of the guys who met i found him unpleasent at the time as i asked him about the gutka pothis. He said "oh have you thought about learning gurmuki punjabi ?" 
 
I was shocked by this remark and got annoyed a lot so i questioned that does he know these banis and that what he do his paath from. 
 
I properly put him down and he had no answer nor his other stall guy as he questioned him which made me feel happy.

Akaal ! Why do you want to be judged by someone ? Jin Prem Kiyo tin hi Prabh paayo. You have love for Gurbani, you feel anand listening to Gurbaani rather than learning the meanings. Do what your soul tells you. He must have said that sentence to let the sangat feel that let Simran and doing paath be not just an exercise. He is not wrong bhha ji . 
He must have said a 100 other things to help you progress however you took him negatively because what he said hurt you. Maybe, what perhaps you would want to try is get a translated sateek of Sukhmani Sahib.

Remember we are Sikhs of the Guru, a Sikh is always a student, see the brighter side that what he said has hurt you because you have Prem for Gurbani. Let this Prem progress into Bhagti of a higher level. Thank him for giving you this jolt to wake up and do things which will help you progress and maybe a year or so down the line you will want to thank him for saying what he said.

And look at how some of the people who do namaaz behave. Look at the rampant rapists and sadists that made up ISIS and the groomers in the UK. (Not saying that all sullay are like this though, but enough to make it noticeable).
Personally I feel sorry for many of the people from Indic backgrounds (like paks or bengalis) whose ancestors became sullay (under whatever circumstances). Now they are stuck with doing prayers that they can't really understand. If they were tied to Gurbani, they'd be familiar with much more of the grammar/syntax and language. Instead they have to subordinate themselves to Arabic culture. 
We are blessed that our ancestors never took that path.  

Why would someone want to do namaz anyway? With Gurbani we get to understand what is being relayed because the language is a lot more familiar.

veer ji , appreciate your broad mindedness, since you are respecting the ibadat of Akaal known to muslims as Allah, but we also need to understand the islamic perspective before we do the ibadat or saadhana of Akaal in the islamic form of Allah.

the kalma says " La Illah, Illal lah muhammad rassol allah"

if we understand this message alone , we can then decide whether we should be namaz.

This can be translated as "There is nothing but Allah and muhammad alone is the Rasool"

Now if we are sikhs, we see Rasool in our Gurus how can we accept he islamic bani which will not recognize our Gurus?

Give it a thought, of course its your choice do what you think what is best.

i reccomend you to see 'tamas' it was a television serial of the 80's in india . It is available on google. It was based on the novel of Bhism Sahani , a communist so it would have some soft corner for muslims .

For those over 40 or whatever, even if you feel so out of shape it doesn't matter. A six pack may seem a bit of an uphill struggle..lol..
Just start with a 20 min brisk walk every night (about an hour after eating)...just see how you feel as you do not want to walk on a bloat stomach.. then slowly increase it..(take it from there)..
For those who are over weight, forget exercise for now... concentrate on diet.. that's it....once you have that in control, then start brisk walking, then jogging, then weights... its all good, only competition is yourself..Lets go..lol
For all you young cats, start training man..lol.. KO gym bethnal green, i trained many years there... i recomend it for sure for those in london, friendly atmosphere but hard training...
P.s.. be sharp and have fight I.Q... not all about the six pack..lol..
 

i want to start, i am 41 and highly obese weighing 107 kilos , i have tried some trainers but they are young so dont understand the transitioning the body has to go through. if you can please guide please let me know

There is no end to such reasoning and cross questioning against any abhyas done. Tomorrow the very purpose of keeping kes can be questioned . So i personally feel if someone is doing abhyas with x number of paaths or simran there is nothing wrong with it . Everything and anything that does not go accroding to our will we blame the brahmans and brahman vaad ..i dont know how much of Sikhi should we consider that.

In reality the wicked,rich and mighty are striving and living the life of lords while the weak and righteous are poor and suffering.The poor that are very religious end up being workers in the factories and businesses of the Godless rich. How can this be a mirror?
Look at Communist Atheist China,look at their wealth,strength and technological advance.So advanced that even western superpowers shiver with fear of them.How can the Godless be so powerful yet countries and people that are highly religious are still Third world slums filled with disease and hunger.I have been wondering this for a long time.No logical explanation  found yet.
