The Rt Hon Doctor karminder dhillon PHD Boston then writes: "The shabd is wholly spiritual. It uses multiple metaphors – marriage, junj, joree, daan, mighty human beings, power full beings etc etc. Guru ji also used IDIOMS. We need to understand the context of these metaphors and get to the spiritual messages. That is how we interpreted the entire Shabd as above.
This particular verse is NO EXCEPTION.   In English we may say SCORES come and DOZENS go. One score is 20. And one dozen is 12. This means whatever is being referred to comes and goes APLENTY.   IT DOES NOT mean someone particular came in 1820 and went in 1912!!!!   In our everyday language we say SAU AIYE TEY SAU GAYEY. SAU is one hundred. Or TEREY VARGEY KAYEE HAZAAR DEKHEY. Or TEREY VARGEY CHATEE (36) AIYEY.   These numbers are used idiomatically to portray unspecific multitudes. The shabd uses the numbers BOTH idiomatically to portray MULTITIDES and poetically to be within the poetic confines of the verses before and after. Avan Athathrey Jaan Satanvey Hor Bhee Uthsee Marad Ka Chela.   Avan – Coming. Athathrey – 78, metaphor for unspecified multiples. Jaan – Goes. Satanvey – 97; metaphor for unspecific multiples. Hor – More, Many, Others. Bhee – Also. Uthsee – Raise, Come to the forefront. Marad – Male, Masculine. Chela – Disciple, Follower, Believer, Worshipper.   Unspecified Multiples Will Come and Multiple More Will Depart as Worshippers of Masculine Prowess. (Yet the Hukm of the Creator Will Remain as Permanent). "     To me, this just sums up the clutching of straws to build up a straw man argument. Using a specific non rounded number is NOT part of everyday talk. We use, and indeed Gurbani uses numbers like a hundred, thousands, and lakhs etc. But it never uses numbers like 78, 97, 146, 2685, 743872 etc. Using rounded numbers to portray a particular aspect or point is normal in any language.   But to try and use "78" and "97" for unspecified numbers is just nonsensical. But those rats like that admin aman on SPN live for this kind of nonsense.     The great doctor then ends with some of his musings on what gurbani should be with : "COMMENT ON THE NOTION OF SARAB SANJHEE BANEE.   When we say Gurbanee is NEVER occasion, location, time or person specific – we are saying the messages are NOT meant for a particular location, occasion, time or individual. We are saying ALL of Gurbani is meant for ALL of humanity for ALL times."   Again this is not bourne out by the inclusion of Ramkali Sadd. Although there is great teachings in that shabad for the benefit of humankind, there is no denying that the writing was an occasion and person specific event.   I wonder why it is, that these PHD's and ilk feel that there is a need to distort each and every aspect of Gurmat to their own particular thoughts. We had Angy on here some months ago doing it, and they have no shame in doing it.

Thank you again, and now I completely understand why did you want to share the post with me. Actually while looking for a way of not sleeping, by the grace of guru ji's, I found how to do rom rom simran. what you shared I also started doing for last 10 days. I am going to keep on practicing this. I am making good progress but wants to do rom rom simran all the time instead of me focusing and starting this by controlling my breath and moving the focus on heartbeat and then naval pulses. I hope this will start automatically at some time.
Thank you again for sharing this, It confirms that I am moving in the right direction.

Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji maharaj.

Khalsa ji Baba Mitt Singh Ji Brahmgiani was a great saint. He took Amrit around the age of 10 years old, and also got farla at that age to by Singhs specially sent by Guru Gobind Singh Ji.

I do not know much about baba Dharam Singh Ji also from hazoor sahib.

It would be great if the sangat could share any info on these great nihung mahapurshs as they did alot of bhagti. Not just these Mahapurshs but other nihang saints who keep gupt, it would be great to spread the gian of these great saints to everyone.

On a side note, i remember listening to katha being done by Giani Thakur Singh Ji where he mentions baba Kirpal Singh of Budha dal, he used to be the secretary and writer of Budha dal some years ago. Baba Kirpal singh used to go to hazoor sahib and while he was there he got darshan of Guru Gobind Singh ji there on a regular basis. Baba Kirpal singh used to ask dasam pita various questions and maharaj gave him bachan back to his questions. Baba Kirpal Singh ji was a tyar par tyar Nihung blessed soul.

    Thanks

When i said 'what the point' i didn't mean to come across as its irrelevant but  sometimes when you talk about direct experiences its really a case of showing off ... you may or may not get mystical experiences form this jaap... like i said it helped in my worldy affairs..it felt like knots being untied, you ever been in a position when a thin thread had a knot init and you try so hard to untie it and get nowhere then someone comes a long and unties it with relative ease, thats how i feel when reflecting on this jaap..i still do this jaap now and again.
I actually felt guilty when doing these jaaps for material gain but when i looked at spiritual people here in uk, most if not all had financial security/stability,something i've never had, and i wondered would they be so spiritual and god orientated if that worldy security was swept away from under their feet..hhmm not sure bro but also contemplating on others, maharaj has loooked after them from the start for them to enjoy his fruits.. its probably best if you start the jaap and if you feel ok about it, share it on here (something i wouldn't do, but each to their own).. be warned you will get a lot of rukaavat especially if you do ardas to complete x amout of jaap in x amount of days for a specific gain/phall..
for jaap itself, when i first started i recited with mouth (loud) over time it became mental to the point i would be doing jaap in head and working and/or doing daily activities at same time...even now sometimes that manter automatically starts in my mind and i go with it and enjoy it.. With jaap, look at your situation and be practical.. its like food, its best eaten when sitting down and in a relaxed mode eating slowly, basically enjoying the food/taste, but if your in a rush you tend to eat fast and sometimes even stand and eat...point being in both scenarios you cater for hunger and are satisfied at the end..things i would suggest is if you got time, do x amount a day sitting down maybe with dhoop/jot and water which you sprinkle around room and drink rest of it.
Have you done this jaap or started it?? don't just do it for the sake of it as you may end up being disappointed, if you have a strong natural desire and 'signs' are saying do it, then put your foot down and get on with it..

Bhaisahab i guess there is a lot of differences between the Dals/Jathebandis or the individuals who are at some position in the Dal. There is all the possibility that one individual may have malice towards the other.
The followers of one Dal will claim that their Mukhi is of so and so Awastha, wakes up at 12-2 pm , does kesi isnaan and then the Nitnem,Das Granthi and so on. This is the standard measure they give to claim that the Mukhi is of high Awastha and also will add some miracles happening.

Hunn mainu Aap ji dasso, who is going to see which individual does what and how true is what is being said. I personally feel all the patronage which is being given to these organizations is based on faith and pure faith.

My feeling is , with all that is being offered to them, are they ever questioned as to what have they done to solve the ongoing issues of the Sangat? How are they addressing the addiction problem? What education benefits can they provide in smaller Pinds ? How much parchaar is being done?
Are we just blindly placing money in the golak to maintain their attire and ego? We need to think .

is the popular saying. Whether Baba Bidhi Chand was married I don't know.
No Bidhi Chand Dal was started by Guru HarGobind. Then the informal name of the Sikh army was Akal Sena. Only in later times did the Dal started getting names and organisation.

People describe various ways of doing ..some say a shastar should be kept along with a lighted diya ..and a pitcher of water..however it is better one does abhyaas than getting into ritualistic specifications which are made by different people rather than our Guru Sahib..so as long as you are bathed and wearing clean clothes it is fine ..the Jungi Khalsa would do baani on horseback ..they were fighting for days together..you think someone had that time to get into rituals ? Sehaj paath karna ..abhyaas karna ..it takes a life time to understand things ..

For daily abhyaas she can do a combination of Japji sahib , Jaap Sahib, Choupai sahib, Ath Chandi Charitar consisting of the 8th adhyay of Chandi Charitar ...Shastar Naam Maala , Bhagouti Ashtotar and Brahm Kavach which is recited 32 times as instructed in the baani.

    lets calculated time :

Jap ji Sahib - 12-15 mins approx

Jaap sahib - 12 mins approx

Choupai sahib - 5 mins approx

Ath Chandi Charitar ashtomo adhyay - 2 mins approx

    Shastar Naam Maala - 7 - 8 mins approx

Siri Bhagouti Ashtotar - 2-3 mins approx

Brahm Kavach 32 paaths : 25 mins approx

It comes to approximately an hour and 10 mins around ...if she can do that in the morning .

The time of reading Shastar Naam Mala is not restricted like with Chandi Di Vaar as that can't be read after sunset.

As long as you don't read it before sleeping bed time its fine as i spoke to gyani thakur singh a few years back.

But after ur Nitnem ofcourse. Rather be sure.if u can handle  the powers ... .. Else  go for Jaap Sahibs or Chaupai Sahib instead
And no need for apologies, we are all Sangi Sakhi'-s here .. so even more than friends. ...
    Cheers to ur curiosity!!
@Soulfinder Veerji. Hanji. I am aware that u do Dasam Banis and love them.  I do to and I have put in the caution more than once in the post above, that ridh siddh is NOT sikhi. It brings negative powers.
One thing that i perceive is
I take Bhagauti as the motherly form of Akaal Purakh. As Guru Sahib says               " Namo Sri Bhagauti..."
And Pratham Bhagauti than Guru Nanak that is he himself. So how can be my mom dangerous and bring damage to me?? 'Gobind bhaav Bhagat ka bhooka' so feelings, love and kirpa holds higher place than jap, tap sanjam right?
And similarly 'shaheed Singhs are the part of a family. Like our brothers so where's the danger ? I mean that's how it looks to me personally

my 2 cents, do the Paath after the morning Nitnem Banis. You would yourself get the feeling of the time best suitable to you. Also you will also feel tphat the Bani has to be followed by additional Banis as per one's energy. I myself have wasted a lot of time over the timings and so on, Bani will never harm you as we all know.
At this time you or me or anyone who doesnt have any awastha is a abhyasi - a student . We are bound to make mistakes while learning . So lets just assume we are toddlers who will fall time and again while walking.
My personal experience says , Hukumae Andar Sabko - you will get the message inside. Just have the sraddha and pyaar, rest will all come.
