    Wahguru ji ki fateh
I couldn't help but feel your situation because I know what it's like. I can only tell you what I know from the way I've handled things. Although its a stage of my life that I'm extremely ashamed of, I'm aware of the darkness and difficulties.
I remember how I'd regret most mornings and promise to not do it again. Sadly, just past afternoon, when i'd be more or less fully sober, I'd fall into a sudden slump of depression. Worried about how I would make it through to the night, I'd be craving and planning my evening liquor session. The anxiety, frustration, and just the plain fear of being sober. Sometimes, it was as if I felt naked without any drink and needed it to cover myself up and be presentable.  My mind would be working full speed to convince me that tonight it would be okay just this once to get rat-assed again.  I went up and down like a yo-yo many times.  Problem was that I was looking to fill this hole that everyone looks for. As manukhs, we tend to fill the hole with 5 vices. When I went to AA meetings and was working on step plans, I found myself spending more time at casinos. Although I wasn't drinking, I was frequenting other naughty places as well as squandering thousands in casinos.  Now, after 20 years, I realize that the "hole" I was looking for was "naam" and because I never found any naam, I just went from drinking on to other vices.  There's people out there addicted to gossip, addicted to tv, addicted to kaam, addicted to violence, addicted to moh of possessions, addicted to moh of relations, lobh of money, lobh of more square feet to own..and so on.  Either way, theire lives get consumed by panj doots unless they become Guru ka sikh and start practicing as guru ka sikh.
    What did I do?
    - Eventually, I plucked up the courage to start  10,000 mool mantar over 10 days. 1000 /day. This was advised by local gyani and I just took his word for it. He said do it 10 days, no khaana peena, just simple daal roti. Wake at 4am, bathe shower whilst doing Waheguru jap, then sit down cross-legged and do 1000 malas preferably with an extra mala of 108 at the end.  Then wait a few days and start again on Sunday. So it went from Sunday to  Sunday (8 days inclusive) plus Monday and Tuesday week after (10 days), then a break on wed, thu, fri and Saturday to start again on Sunday.  Gyanee told me to go back after a month and see him. When I went back the first time,  the first thing he enquired was whether I had fallen off the wagon and hit the bottle after first 10 days.   But I hadn't, the vegetarian rehat and maintaining of purity on the outside did somehow cleanse my dirty mann from the inside. After 2 months, I changed my life around and started to focus on nitnem and doing simran with techniques my dad had taught me. I've never consumed any liquor since or even had any urges. After all, it was the urges that were eating me in those days.
I strongly suggest you follow official advice as mentioned by soulfinder veer. I honestly believe the 5 vice salok will be beneficial. I explained before how I found myself switching from one vice to another after I started AA. I truly believe that it's our human nature and the 5 dhoots power to fool us this way.Doing the salok in addition is a vey good idea.   In the end, it's not just about getting off the liquor, it's about a whole new transformation into a newer you.  I remember that during  the second mool mantar japs I found myself with lots of physical energy and started powerlifting and pumping weights that I didn't think were possible for me. Doing this will also be beneficial for you if you start with small weights and combo reps.

    Good post ji
This is a very misunderstood and misinterpreted area.
Although, guest hukam has a valid point, you have given some very good reasoning.
It's like a telling a young kid that if they want something, then they should pray to Waheguru and ask.      Tell them yes, this almighty is invisible, but he knows and can do everything, even though he can't be seen. The kid's wishes nearly always get fulfilled because the lord wants everyone to build their own foundations of faith.
After time. one comes to realise that his hukam and bhana is what prevails, and eventually, you get to a stage where it will feel foolish asking for any worldly needs. This is because you know that the Lord knows what you really need and not what you think you may need. Then your ardas becomes mainly for shakti to get closer to Akal purkakh and  forgiveness of all mistakes that one may have made and may make in the present. Mistakes being knowingly and unknowingly.

Singh123456777 ji, you should just continue with even more devotion as N30ji advises.
I too, used to ask so many questions to myself when i was trying to steady myself on the path. Even now, i still do, But my outlook is much different.

My first ever bhagti attempts were doing 10,000 mool mantars over 10 days. I did these on 4/5 occasions throughout my student years. You know when your studying and it comes to exam time and you get desperate ?
Well, I was a naughty boy for a long time, but waheguru kept blessing me with whatever i asked for. It's now, years later that I realise what fool i was and how my relation with satguru was purely selfish and conditioned.
I was only ever good and japped naam when I needed to pass or I needed to pass to move on, the rest of the time , i was up to no good.

I understand having the same thirst and hunger you have, and i always pray to Waheguru, that this thirst be continued because it's the only thing that keeps me on the straight.

I have eventually realised but i still have to keep reminding myself that we all have our own individual experiences on this path.
The swaying you mention is a good sign, because it's your body trying to tune in from what I reckon.

Keep the bharosah, because waheguru will just surprise you every time when the blessings of kirpa come to you.

For a long time, I was also very reluctant to talk about my progress and experiences. I think this is one of the first things i was told...""to keep gupt, or it will stop''
In all honesty, i still feel the same in a way because i don't actually talk about it to anyone in person except my wife. Even she doesn't ask or invade into this privacy of spiritual space, although I have absolutely no problem sharing with her. She knows and understands what my true priorities and purposes are.

ANyhow, I feel it's OK to talk about in on internet because i don't know anyone in person and no one knows me either (in physical life). The privacy and personalization is still maintained in the terms of my mind and i don't think i would have got as far if i had not learned from others doing the same and exposing my progress as well at the same time.
However, with this in mind, I do feel quite disciplined to not meet or liaise with any members in person at this stage and i have had to disregard a few invitations for active/real life communication in the past. I suppose it's just weakness of one my fears that i can't conquer !!

But yes, feel free to ask questions and contribute your walk or climb.
I say climb, because i often think of myself as trying to climb a mountain where i am at the bottom just trying to reach for the top. But i have to be in the right little spot where God throws down the rope to climb.
Now, that he has blessed me with the rope, i have the duty to hang on tight and carry on climbing. And believe me, like anyone on a rope, there are many times when i just end up stuck at the same altitude and swing from side to side very vigorously. The thirst of trying to get to the top is what keeps my grip tight and i beg that i don't get tempted by the grease of my chor and maya, so that my grip loosens away. It's always a matter of grabbing even tighter and then waiting for it to get steady, until i begin climbing again.

    I agree !
Music industry has a huge influence on youth and they should pay attention to the images being portrayed.
I think you are bang on, as they are trying to come across as mystic sufis.
It feeds the wrong ideas to younger sikh youth who just may get influenced more to sikhi with some songs, which is what the idea should be behind these songs.

In the west, the idea is always ''If it's not broken, then don't fix it ''
However, with indians and punjabis it's more like '' If it's NOT broken, then Break it ''
and we always seem to to a good job in breaking and ruining anything genuine.

    Interesting!
Some of you may be aware that I had experienced a NDE and was in a coma for nearly a month...but I don't go into details on an open forum.
This guy was talking about it just after a year... but in all honesty...it takes more than a few years to put all the pieces together and understand it.

I can usually comprehend the genuine NDE descriptions,so I will give my opinion on this one....and it is fairly genuine, except that I think he hasn't fully understood and realized yet !

My opinion is that he did come from one of the heavenly realms before his life on earth.
The fact, that in this life, he rejected God, the power, the divine...... is why he was susceptible to all the darker and negative energies which accounted for his numerous illnesses.

The easiest way to think of how these energies work is to think of your 'SOUL' or God energy as that which exists as a white light.
The more attached to God and the more God realized ---->>then the brighter and stronger the energy of this white light.

Stronger white light in a body---->>>makes the body less susceptible to energies of dark light... this also means poot, pret, jantar mantar, curses, black magic...and all that.... are less likely to affect such body.

Then on the other hand, if a person has hardly any white divine light in them---->>> then, their bodies are more likely to be consumed by the darker and depriving energies of ill health, disease, depression...and even suicide.

Think of "GU-RU"...from darkness to light !

He witnessed the Cosmic arrangement and from what he was trying to explain as really fast travel--->>>was about the real ''interstellar'' cosmic shift through light years of space in no concept of time!... 5th dimension!
This is how "Gobind"-(Lord of the Universe)....shows you what your existence really is.
It is tailored for each individual, which is why, No two experiences are ever exactly the same !.... OR they wouldn't be called experiences.

He said that wherever he was, "in this valley"... he felt comfortable and at home to say!....... that's because he had come from there originally, which means he was already out of lakh chaurasi before birth! (not sure if some of you will get this...can explain later)

Basically, the only way that he could move up from any of those heavens to sachkhand.. was by taking birth as a human again.... and from some of the heaven loks, you can actually do this by choice or will.

Human birth-existence, means---->>> live out or bhog your karams,, which are basically the weight that hold you into a realm.

However, his denial and complete lack of dharam (one of the four padaraths)----->>> predisposed him to the darker energies of ill-being and ill health.

But the biggie for him was the Blessing of GRACE and KIRPA by Akaal Purakh..........so that he got another chance to complete his duties.
This is HUKAM--->>>None of us can ever explain how or why.

This is what happens when you get thrown back into lack chaurasi again......the jamdoots come and club you with the iron dhandey, tie you up in shackles and lead you away as Kabirji says in gurbani.
You see, this guy was already out of the lack chaurasi from his previous janam, which is why he went straight into some lower/middle heaven lok--->>>since, he cam from there originally.

The other point is that as Guru Tegh Bahadurji describes...."This janam and life is just like a dream, when we wake up(which is when we die),-->> we realize that none of this life was real."

If you just imagine that when you are in a dream---->>It all seems quite real when you are in it...the people,.....the interactions,.... everything.... will seem like a reality in the dream state...... But, when you wake up-->>You realize that it wasn't real after all,.... it was just a dream, and now you are in the reality...dam-gotta getup in 30 mins and go to work
In the same manner,.... Death is like the waking up from this matrix illusion.

A reason why there is a difference within NDE descriptions is,.. because it depends on what and where you were from in previous janams.
Lakh chaurasi is the complete universal cycle and then there are all the heaven loks that go from lower to higher realms but there are some levels after which you cannot ascend unless you have human birth.

The ascension within realms can happen, but this is in the ones where jamdoots take you, where you have to realize, learn and accept all your dark wrongdoings.
So for eg,, you may end up in the dark pit of where all the murderer jivas are.... You will enjoy their company until you realise, accept and learn your own shortcomings and sin of murdering.....in doing so, you will be able to rise above the rest, as your inner light will get brighter.... then you move on to the next lessons.....and so on.....

The MAIN point that I can stress is that, when a soul jiva is in this Human Life form---->>> This is it's only chance to jap, meditate, get the one-pointed awareness......so that it can go straight --->>> Sachkhand.
The Direct one way plane ticket that Guru Nanak Ji has taught us-->>Nanak naam jahaz hai

In the Video, Mr Jaswal has got some idea about his mind-no thoughts-...etc...because he mentioned it a few times....But he hasn't quite said that he has deciphered the message that he must Jap and meditate. This is why he was given the second chance.

As I stated above, I don't go into details about my NDE on an open forum, but I can tell you all that the main message and duty that I came back for was ...Jap, Simran ..and bhagti on His Name.
That was the ONLY thing I knew I had to do but I had never done it previously. In fact, I was never even spiritually inclined in any way.........so it took me a couple of years to work out how to get going and do bhagti.

The Dhan/Wealth of Naam is only carried forward from this realm of human life.

    Sat Sri Akaal

Guys, you really don't want to fall in this entrapment.
The Mind is too easy to tempt into different directions. Grabbing tips from x,y and z will only make the mind race and prevent it form stabilizing.   One's daily conduct has to be done with a steady mind.  How you go about in your day reflects how easily you can go into sehaj and steadiness in simran.
Keep it simple, have faith and be prepared to give your matt at all times. Jumping around with a monkey mind, going from x,y, z will only weaken your hold over the mann.
You must have complete faith in the EK that you decide to follow. No faith, means no progress.

i've only done kapaalbhaati a handful of times.  Mainly done Breath of fire in which the inhale and exhale are same length. Good for firing up and activating furnace/lower core in helping prana flow and metabolism.  Kapaalbhati has longer exhales, so it would be more of purifying and cleansing orientated.  There's probably much more into the yoga science, but I usually keep my focusing on energy direction and body balance.
as in to your original question about " praana vich kampan",  I would normally suggest doing the cleansing technique of Saas graas at  normal relaxed pace with some dhyian and inward pumps at the navel. This usually balances this out whilst doing simran.
I usually do yoga techniques and stretches as part of my workouts. Goal here is BODY->MIND, MIND->BODY, and I usually bring in gurmantar or other mantar.  I find these physical approaches are usually beneficial if done 3-4 hrs before deeper simran session.  See how you go and how it works better for you.
