  1. As sikhi moves around the globe, its face is bound to change, after all we are all human but our skin and external features are all very different.. Sure we can cry tradition this and that, but to be honest thats their practice, most important thing is the true amrit, which is the naam, and if thats present then who cares about the external forms... As long as the soul of Sikhi remains the same, the face is bound to change with every new sikh and every passing day.. This is my general view, I would like to express that I am not inciting a dialogue about importance of tradition etc, and the importance of amrit sanchar vidhi.. if thats the road anyone would like to take.. It will most probably turn into a forum of sampradhava bashing.. so no point..
  2. i think mehtab singh should get a warning.. ! for wasting my bandwith on a new topic which never truelly exists... OH MAN.. its the whole meat shabad scenario again.. arggggghhh..
  3. 666... .... ... oooooh scary.. Anyhoooo, I think both javanmard and singh47, have provided great arguments, its a pity that singh47 has no idea about how to reference a book. which is obviously not Sri Gur Sarbloh, and its a pity javanmard has to start shouting blasphemy at every cok up that occurs... Enough people make up rules, and bend rules, and enough ppl believe they actually doing it without bad intentions, yet they all accuse everyone else of having some crazy anti panthic reasonings behind their actions. Singh47 if your referencing anything from within another source, do not ever think it is accurate, specifiy bla bla as cited in bla blas book.. If you have access to a sarbloh manuscript then please share its location so that the panth can have darshan of such a parataan swaroop, as I have no knowledge of any existing.. Stop accusing each other of changing bani and crap like that, just discuss inform and argue like men.. If javanmard wants to leave then bruv feel free to leave without having to make a scene, its a forum not a jail.. people are free to come and go as they please, if one persons arogance is enough to make you get up and go, then so be it. Akaaal to all, and is anyone else freaked out by this 666 revelation on today.. the 6th.. of the 6th.... 06... !
  4. lets all laugh at mehtab singh.. keep this post up as a sign of blondeness.. and never let him live it down.. HAHAHAA...
  5. War and fighting in the name of God, is the dharamic war in the name of justice. Check what particular events those quotes relate too, and you may be suprised to realise the fight was against those who had dishonoured their vows and promises. I do not know of a war during the time of the prophet (saw) which was not with just cause. As is the case in the earlier battles of Sikhi, never was the war a threat or unjust one, against weaker opponents or for material gains. If wars and conflict was faught on these grounds we would all appreciate it as protecting the intrests of the masses. After all we all accept Bush and Blair in their crusade against terror, however how Just is that fight? As with any scripture, words without the context are nothing more then just words.
  6. and now u all understand what chardi kala really means..
  7. lol.. scholars of the panth.. dhan dhan dhan to the gian of akaal purakh in the form of his funky scholars please do respond singh47 sahib, and I dont think calling anyone ram rai before allowing them to explain is a practice of compassion. so give the guy a break.. man.. give the guy a kit kat.. lol.. unless there is a sarbloh shabad baning kit kat?
  8. man.. so much support this cant be good.. ??? Erm your evil and you will go to hell.. !! grrrrr... now go say sorry
  9. The issues between Bhindranwales purpose or lack of it, the politics etc, are of no concern. The panth was lied to by DDT for the last 20 odd years.. nobody cares, the requests of the akali dal, that bhindranwale made his stance for, what was achieved, what did the panth get out of his last stance? The old wall of the akaal takht which acts as a reminder, what the hell is that about.. ?? Why did Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj rewrite satguru Granth Sahib, insted of fighting for the kirtarpuri bir? There are too many questions, and to be honest what this day should be is a rememberance of the shaheedi, the meaning of shaheedi and the true purpose of shaheedi. To stand defending your beliefs. and to be honest maybe the men ontop had alternative motives, but hundreds during the 80s died as shaheeds, this includes the old man in the village fighting to defend his home, against the so called khalistani and sikh thugs, or the indian police and goverment. The loss is not to be mourned, we are not like the jews who wish to black mail the world into excepting the killing of our people as unfortunate turn in history. The blood of our shaheeds has never been wasted on crap calls for independant states which never came into being. It was spilt for the principles of dya and dharam. Look at the shaheedis throughout history and look at what material gains were gained!! no khalistan no nothing. The shaheedi of the char sahibzade resulted in the enpowering of the khalsa panth, and now as we argue over who was right and who was wrong, all we do is spit on the names of our great shaheeds. They are nameless and it is their blood which gives the panth chardikala, crying over 84 isnt chardi kala, lying for 20 odd years isnt chardi kala, keeping momentos from the old akaal takht isnt chardi kala, Nowadays alot of people cry out about Baba santa singh taking money from the government, I would just like to remind those people that in the sikh diaspora, mainy of those who support khalistan have built their gurdwaras and run camps etc, claiming money and grants from their respective goverments. I must however after having my little rant.. express the importance for fighting for human rights which is a positive bi product of these 84 rememberance acts. By the grace of akaal purakh may I forever show my gratitiude and respect to the Shaheeds throughout history who have upheald dharam.. whatever their religion whatever their race. And may I never insult their kurbani by claiming they are still alive and in hiding !!! note to all who read this.. this is my own personal rant and opinion. I must also express I have an obvious bias towards the Nihangs and regard the acts of baba Santa singh as the best thing to have done. I respect their are alternative views and opinions, and I hope they can be discussed without people causing to much offense to one another. Parnam Shaheedan Nu..
  10. The greatest friend for me is the one who I ignored everytime he called to me, and was there everytime I called to him.. This world is full of change, the only thing that you have to present here is your self.. by being yourself.. what else can you give to the world.. as nothing is ours to give all we have is this and even this isnt ours.. By his grace being you is the best you can ever offer. Just pray that everyday it is in his charan that you remain, wether your aware of it or not.. after all I am nothing more then a fool.. and a fool is all I am Lol I chat so much crap...
  11. I was intrested by this question, so I called an old friend who was born blind, according to him.. "Yes I dream, in my dreams I see, I see the way I see everyday.. I see what I smell, what I feel, and what I hear.. even sometimes I see what I taste. Your eyes stop you from seeing whats really there, you accept the image, and the image is the most dominant so you dont care for your other senses, in your dreams, you dont smell, or you dont taste, or hear anything do you ?? Well I do.. !" After that conversation I thought he was being mean to me for being able to see, so I asked him if he has read the da vinci code.. He's a nice guy, abit stuck up but nice.. so thats what the blind man says to dreams. Being me, I had to ask.. and his reply was.. Blind men do have wet dreams.. !
  12. lol that udhasis baba guy in the picture with guru maharaj doesnt have his head covered.. Im suprised the guy who gives out parshad hasn't shouted at him !
  13. As my dynamic name, is being thrown all over this forum post. It is only right that I have a word to say.. Jokes, aside.. I remember asking Baba Santa Singh about Bandai Khalsas, and if we should associate with them. He replied that even though Banda had committed his sins which included the killing of innocents and abuse of the panth and his position, the bandai followers had payed their tankha through shaheedi etc, and were not to be discriminated against. in todays day and age, But to be honest, I know of many occassions in which sikhs have in the name of their khalsa identity taken to violence against innocents.. The southall slough violence of 1990s rings a few bells. Now you might all say they werent true sikhs bla bla.. but lol when the hell was the panth ever full of true sikhs?? There have been traitors and backstabbers since the times of the Gurus, a state is not a perfect heaven of like minded angels.. it is a collection of all types of identities, from the blood hungry mad men, to the great respected saints and shaheeds. Secondly the personal accusations against javanmard, have no ground, so dont make up crap just coz you think you know the guy. His views are respected on this forum because he opens our eyes to alot of concepts and thoughts which are usually ignored by the typical punjabi sikh.. His range of experience and personal life allows for a refreshing dialogue about the key concepts of Sikhi we all take for granted. If you disagree with the guy fine, but personal attacks dont have no ground. OOh and akalisohdistan, I accept your offer.. lets start enriching nucleur reactors for peaceful means
  14. then take another lol... Polygomy for sikhs.. vote now.. !
  15. Khalistan, i disagree with.. however the istan of the khalsa,, well khalsa is 96 krori chakravarti.. akaal purakh fauj.. we got the man power, we got the weapons, we got everything we need, and every step the khalsa takes is its isthan.. the problem is not the division of boundaries by a nation state.. the problem is the lack of khalsa within the sikh religious nation. Taking amrit, or calling for a seperate land does not make anyone a khalsa, that war is continuous and its a fight we all run from. Its the fight within ourselves. If Baba Nanak wanted Khalistan he wouldnt have gone on udhasis all over the globe. I do however respect the original desire for khalistan. I can sympathise with the call for the sikh state back in 1920s and during partition. However I also feel that the secularisation of India based on european Enlightment models of nationalism, is the cause of conflict and problem we experience today. And that the partition brought with it a call for the Sikhs to model themselves on this alien form of nationalism. It is here where the early sikh elite (SGPC, Akali Dal etc) failed the panth, then again who can blame them, it was simply the way they had been brought up and educated. Also by changing the name of Punjab, you effectively enforce the boundaries drawn up by the Indira Ghandi congress back in 1970s, at the moment Punjab, is a state not divided, but a state united across two countries. Maybe we need to change our view on what Punjab is, and stop seeing the partition drawn borders as the ultimate truth. And finally, the Khalsa is not a punjabi phenomina, sure the punjab houses many of the important sikh history and shrines, and is the birth location of the faith.. but what does that mean in relation to a universal faith, which cares not for religious affiliation nevermind national. Thats my 2 khalistani dollars:)
  16. and give your atma nirgun darshan by not reading anything akaaaal
  17. and the whirling devishers go round and round. one hand up and one hand down..
  18. karmi apoh apni keh nere kei door, (the above attempt to transliterate is off the top of my head, it isnt accurate in any academic manner, for that I apologise) But thats my take on truth, the truth is that which does not change, but according to each and everyones own karam the prism with which they precieve that truth varies. This may be the maya which causes us while having come from that supreme truth (akaal purakh) and while beign surrounded by the glorious presence within and around of that supreme truth we are unable to precieve it, so insted we according to the our karam have our own perception of that truth, this is the natak which is manifestation, our dharam is ruled by our karam and our karam by our avastha, a king has to think of all his varying subjects, his perception of a situation is very different from the soilder who only has to think of the safety of the king and his own duties. Maybe IMHO, this is why there is no point in becoming a renouncer and leaving home to live in the jungles, as all you are doing is exchanging one prism for another, the highest state is to accept the avastha you are in, and fall in the charan of akaal purakh begging that by his grace the prisms be removed and truth revealed.. lol then again I have no idea what the hell im on about, I got a 40 minute break, and am trying to write 5000 words a day by the grace of akaal purakh in order to meet deadlines and revise for exams. times like this hiding from the truth of a deadline is the common form of changing the truth to suit oneself.. Akaal purakh ji sahai..
  19. I know of living relatives of akaal purakh.. Akaal purakh di ladli fauja.... Ha...
  20. My only critism is that your analysis of the meat vegi issue is based primarly on textual references, (which are obviously very important as they are the most academically valuable) however, their importance in sikhism has alot to do with the recent revival of santhia and schools of Bani recitation and quatation. The average sikh and majority of sikhism is based on practices which are part of the culture of the people, the religion itself is a living moving thing. So another approach regarding the meat issue would be to look at influences other then text or gurbani based. As it is important to also note that majority of sikh generations have been practicing a form of village sikhism, which I think many academic papers ignore. But thats not really as much a crit as it is a suggestion at making your life harder Anyhoooo there is no way that everything can be included in one article so .. yeh.. nm
  21. does this mean if I go to the camp i will become allergic to kryptonite?
  22. anyone who can read, can read it.. lol To appreciate its messages and access those immense powers etc, then you may need to be more then some who can read. But if you wish to read it, its letters which make words, and if you know the language, then read.
