    Paapiman Veer,

Thanks for reply, but for me, this is the end of discussion. You have categorically accepted that woman is lower than male just because there is no Tuk in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, which shows how little you know. Well, brother, you have a very long, very rough road ahead. But I can suggest you as member of Sangat, there is no shame in changing your attitude, I hope some day you agree to change and Guru ji will show you the right way.

Where did I say so? Show me! I just said the gurbani's tukh was really interpreted and that somehow was showing a wrong message.Targetting my ownself,I said so.Just think,If I were not little aware of it,then following the message as your post gave(to LOVE the husband as sati did),would lead me to a wrong path, definitely to the world of MOH MAYA.I'm not talking about Bowing/respect here.To show respect is a different matter, but to love someone as much as Sati did,is totally a form of Moh Maya.In my view,Yes It's obligation of both partners to respect each other and to show solidarity in each situation, but to love Husband/Wife as SATEE did,is not right.Just imagine,If she would have loved God instead of her husband, then She would be much and much fortunate and that would be the real source of satisfaction. Satisfaction of love! That was just my view.I wrote I'm not sure, cause I was not a Brahmgyani.Even ,I dont want to think/talk about it.It's like a flea of gutter talking about Nectar of richest orchids. So,I just wanted to discuss the tuk .That was a kind of question to the sangat. And I'm not interested in doing bias over it.here, fiction is really not my idea!

You are REALLY trying to drag that one misinterpreted tuk as justification to subordinate women and put them beneath men arent you?? Why are you so concerned about "putting women in their place" anyway??

Here are two translations... I will edit and add the rest later. I have about 10 different translations and ALL say see God as Husband... not see husband as God. Because I already showed you wehre it says God is equally in ALL of us. So having this one tul by istefl trying to subordinate women beneath men or to sugegst that only women should see men as God and not the other way around goes against rest of Gurbani! We are to ALL see God in EVERYONE!

    Bhai Manoman Singh Translation:

Kaho Nānak jin pari▫o parmesar kar jāni▫ā.

is the blessed 'satee'; she is received with honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4||30||99||

And... have you ever thought the possibility that even if you twist it backwards like you have... that its still not talking about PHYSICAL WOMEN. It's speaking to the feminine soul... SOUL BRIDES concept. Because the only true male is God and rest of us are referred to as female in Gurbani!

The 'SHE' spoken of in the line in your above interpretation would still not mean a 'physical woman' but instead would mean soul bride....Which ALL OF US are....male and female alike!!!! So then it would apply to you too!

We should ALL consider our Husband to be God. (not our physical husband) but ALL of us should consider our true spouse to actually be God. We (all of us male and female) are soul BRIDES, and GOD is the Husband Lord. Because ultimately our souls relation to God is our true marriage.

It still wouldn't be an instruction for a physical woman to see her physical husband as God!

Why should we even worry about who is or isnt a 'Brahmgyani'? Isn't that about THEIR journey? This is OUR journey... we are supposed to become Brahmgyani ourselves... we cant do that by following only what someone else says. This is our time, and our chance to meet Waheguru Ji in THIS lifetime. The tool we have is Gurbani. There are different ways to the same one truth. Maybe ours is slightly different than theirs? We can see differences between two whom we consider to be Brahmgyani now... so maybe their paths were slightly different from each other even. But that was their journey. This is ours. Why can't we instead focus on our OWN journey? And read Gurbani OURSELVES!

    * Why is it that we are always ready to accept facts written in old books and stories related to some places even if they are in direct contradiction to Gurmat?

    * If Brahmgyanis really do get their knowledge from God, then how come we have had brahmgyanis who contradict each other on major issues such as Ragmala, Kakkaar (Bhindranwaley vs Randhir Singh), brahmgyanis who said Sant Jarnail Singh was alive for 20 years but yet Sant Ji fails to show up after 31 years? Nihang brahmgyanis who consume meat while all other brahmgyanis frown upon it. Nirmala/Udasi brahmgyanis who let hair loose while Taksalis would beat up any Sikh without dastar and flowing hair.

Fact is that good, noble souls who meditate, connect to god and fight for justice do exist BUT claiming that they are all knowing and putting your full confidence in every of their words is your own stupidity.

What I think about the meaning of shabad is little different.
As per my thinking,Gurbani focuses on one's true love only and only towards satnaam/parbrahm/almighty/satguru.Gurbani is the key/way to liberate the soul from Trap of Moh.I think to show infinite love towards any human being whether a wife or husband, brother or sister ,anyone is totally against the true message of Gurbani. So,how can Gurbani encourage to show infinite love towards spouse.
Here,I think SATEE is the soul(as female) irrespective of gender. So guru sahib says Kaho Nanak jin preyo parmeshar kar janea, means the one (as a female soul) who loves her True husband (satpursh/waheguru) as the greatest mighty 'ALMIGHTY' is the true satee. Here The wife is soul( begging for meeting his beloved one),Husband his True pursh and is referred as ' PARMESHAR' ,The supreme Soul/waheguru.
So such Loving soul is the true Satee, and she is blessed one ,and gets honor in the court of akal purkh.
So,Gurbani tells to love only one being, not to show love or get trapped in moh maya with husband, wife or any thing else.
Gurbani warns us to leave all worldy affections. So such Husband -wife affection as that Satee had,is too a form of MoH maya.Gurbani is against it.
(May be I'm wrong. Please do correct me If I do so!)
    Gur fateh!

Yes, Gurbachan Singh quotes that Kirtan Sohila sakhi - Guru ji bleeding sakhi.

While Kirtan Sohila is a bani to be recited before going to sleep, you can recite it at any time, and also while walking. Thus the name of the bani doesn't change the fact that it is still bani.

Gurbani encourages us to jap naam whenever and wherever we can, such sakhis have put unnecessary dubidha in us. Check threads on SikhSangat to see how confused, narrow minded many Sikhs are and how they worry about trivial things instead of focussing on Gurbani updesh (which again is for all mankind).

The Shabads adressed to Muslims also count for us, the Shabads about Yogis also count for us, the Gurbani updesh is the same. If gurbani doesn't forbid us to chant bani while walking then I dont see why we should believe these things.

In terms of bowing down...here are my views

If a couple is Amritdhari Khalsa, they should just greet each other with Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! This way they would be greeting Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a simple solution to maintaining mutual respect, reciprocated from both parties. What a beautiful way of maintaining respect , bringing sweetness and remembering Waheguru!

If someone wants to show respect, physical signs of prostration are not necessary in my humble opinion, It can be done through sweet words action and listening/understanding each other also.

I dont know about that.... I believe there is a transition period before you come back. And I also believe that its possible to interact with this world. I have two *personal* stories which seem to suggest this:

    1. I already mentioned I have had numerous out of body experiences in my life, so I networked with others who also had same experiences. One of my friends did an experiment while 'out'. He went towards his computer and waved his *hand* through the tower. He really didn't expect anything to happen but when he was back in physical and went to turn on the computer, he had corrupted the hard drive. It was as if a large chunk had been erased. This suggests a definite electromagnetic connection between the physical and nonphysical realities. It also makes sense, since many of the sounds encountered during separation and return from out of body experiences are described to be like static, or rushing, electrical like sounds. It means that recently departed may be able to somehow interact with electronic devices... which leads me to #2

    2. When my own Father died, the day of the funeral we were all leaving the hall where the wake was, and outside the building waiting to go to the funeral at the Church (he was Catholic). As they wheeled him around the corner in the casket, the lights and car alarm on the limousine started going haywire... and nobody was standing anywhere near it. Then when we got home, My Mother and I found a message left on the answering machine. It was pretty garbled up, but I was able to clear most of it. The machine was not a tape machine, it was digital so it could not have been a bad tape and we tried to do the *69 thing where it tells you the last number that called. The last number came up as a call we had received in that morning... long before that message was left. Another strange thing was that the bird my Mother had was chirping in the background. The only way the bird could have been on there is if someone clicked the 'memo' button and left a message right at the machine itself. But.... nobody was there as we were all at the funeral! The message itself gets clearer in the second half, and some of the things blew me away:
One thing was "Remember the LIGHT. Remember the life we had. I can hear you, don't worry if I'm alright, I'm ok. I can hear you, I'm sorry that we couldn't do more, but I'm not cold or tired. Remember. Do not doubt. Remember your faith. Remember"

Now he didnt say Catholic faith... he said faith. And a word he didnt really use before... light. Remember the light.

Now I had been alone the previous day, and I was saying out loud... I need to know you are ok because I am having doubts. I need to know you are still 'somewhere' - so it was very eerie hearing 'I can hear you, don't worry if I am alright, I m ok" as you can well imagine!

This is also how I KNOW it was not a prank that someone did. Because I said those things while I was completely alone in the house!!!

This is only a tiny bit of the over 2 min long message by the way! I clipped it so you can hear exactly this spot.
"Remember the LIGHT. Remember the life we had. I can hear you, don't worry if I'm alright, I'm ok. I can hear you, I'm sorry that we couldn't do more, but I'm not cold or tired. Remember. Do not doubt. Remember your faith. Remember"

Satkirin Kaur , Sikhi hasnt changed in the past 600 years or so , it teaches us equality for all men and women ,our gurus showed it .
Its sad that when so called people are two faced , who take sikhi on board but dont actaully follow the Gurus teachings ( let me add thats not sikhi , thats the singh / singhni's choice , and with wahegurus kirpa , may be one day their thinking will change towards equality.

So penji dont take it to heart , your posts are good and i've learnt a thing or two from them. You keep following and practicing what our Gurus teach , you will not convince everybody , its human nature , society plays a big role in equality and sadly thats governing the majority of us ... but again let me add thats not Sikhi,

The thing that makes me mad , is that on one side many jathe bandis ( sikh council, sikh network, sikh federation etcc.) and fighting for our rights ( turban, kirpan etc..) and on the other hand the so called "sikhs who call them selves leaders " start fighting amongst themselves , take out kirpans , police enter the Gurudawara etc.. all this for power, and nothing happens to these people , and they roam around in the Gurudwara as if nothing happened, these type of people i think will actually put a big dent in sikhi and going in the right direction for the sikh articles of faith to be banned , and sooner or later ( hopefully not) someone will be seriously injured.

SO hang in there , you wont change or convince everyone especially on the internet and especially not knowing who is behind the identity and their motives , so put your views across and leave it to that , if it starts getting personal then back out and dont comment further.

    Interesting!
Some of you may be aware that I had experienced a NDE and was in a coma for nearly a month...but I don't go into details on an open forum.
This guy was talking about it just after a year... but in all honesty...it takes more than a few years to put all the pieces together and understand it.

I can usually comprehend the genuine NDE descriptions,so I will give my opinion on this one....and it is fairly genuine, except that I think he hasn't fully understood and realized yet !

My opinion is that he did come from one of the heavenly realms before his life on earth.
The fact, that in this life, he rejected God, the power, the divine...... is why he was susceptible to all the darker and negative energies which accounted for his numerous illnesses.

The easiest way to think of how these energies work is to think of your 'SOUL' or God energy as that which exists as a white light.
The more attached to God and the more God realized ---->>then the brighter and stronger the energy of this white light.

Stronger white light in a body---->>>makes the body less susceptible to energies of dark light... this also means poot, pret, jantar mantar, curses, black magic...and all that.... are less likely to affect such body.

Then on the other hand, if a person has hardly any white divine light in them---->>> then, their bodies are more likely to be consumed by the darker and depriving energies of ill health, disease, depression...and even suicide.

Think of "GU-RU"...from darkness to light !

He witnessed the Cosmic arrangement and from what he was trying to explain as really fast travel--->>>was about the real ''interstellar'' cosmic shift through light years of space in no concept of time!... 5th dimension!
This is how "Gobind"-(Lord of the Universe)....shows you what your existence really is.
It is tailored for each individual, which is why, No two experiences are ever exactly the same !.... OR they wouldn't be called experiences.

He said that wherever he was, "in this valley"... he felt comfortable and at home to say!....... that's because he had come from there originally, which means he was already out of lakh chaurasi before birth! (not sure if some of you will get this...can explain later)

Basically, the only way that he could move up from any of those heavens to sachkhand.. was by taking birth as a human again.... and from some of the heaven loks, you can actually do this by choice or will.

Human birth-existence, means---->>> live out or bhog your karams,, which are basically the weight that hold you into a realm.

However, his denial and complete lack of dharam (one of the four padaraths)----->>> predisposed him to the darker energies of ill-being and ill health.

But the biggie for him was the Blessing of GRACE and KIRPA by Akaal Purakh..........so that he got another chance to complete his duties.
This is HUKAM--->>>None of us can ever explain how or why.

This is what happens when you get thrown back into lack chaurasi again......the jamdoots come and club you with the iron dhandey, tie you up in shackles and lead you away as Kabirji says in gurbani.
You see, this guy was already out of the lack chaurasi from his previous janam, which is why he went straight into some lower/middle heaven lok--->>>since, he cam from there originally.

The other point is that as Guru Tegh Bahadurji describes...."This janam and life is just like a dream, when we wake up(which is when we die),-->> we realize that none of this life was real."

If you just imagine that when you are in a dream---->>It all seems quite real when you are in it...the people,.....the interactions,.... everything.... will seem like a reality in the dream state...... But, when you wake up-->>You realize that it wasn't real after all,.... it was just a dream, and now you are in the reality...dam-gotta getup in 30 mins and go to work
In the same manner,.... Death is like the waking up from this matrix illusion.

A reason why there is a difference within NDE descriptions is,.. because it depends on what and where you were from in previous janams.
Lakh chaurasi is the complete universal cycle and then there are all the heaven loks that go from lower to higher realms but there are some levels after which you cannot ascend unless you have human birth.

The ascension within realms can happen, but this is in the ones where jamdoots take you, where you have to realize, learn and accept all your dark wrongdoings.
So for eg,, you may end up in the dark pit of where all the murderer jivas are.... You will enjoy their company until you realise, accept and learn your own shortcomings and sin of murdering.....in doing so, you will be able to rise above the rest, as your inner light will get brighter.... then you move on to the next lessons.....and so on.....

The MAIN point that I can stress is that, when a soul jiva is in this Human Life form---->>> This is it's only chance to jap, meditate, get the one-pointed awareness......so that it can go straight --->>> Sachkhand.
The Direct one way plane ticket that Guru Nanak Ji has taught us-->>Nanak naam jahaz hai

In the Video, Mr Jaswal has got some idea about his mind-no thoughts-...etc...because he mentioned it a few times....But he hasn't quite said that he has deciphered the message that he must Jap and meditate. This is why he was given the second chance.

As I stated above, I don't go into details about my NDE on an open forum, but I can tell you all that the main message and duty that I came back for was ...Jap, Simran ..and bhagti on His Name.
That was the ONLY thing I knew I had to do but I had never done it previously. In fact, I was never even spiritually inclined in any way.........so it took me a couple of years to work out how to get going and do bhagti.

The Dhan/Wealth of Naam is only carried forward from this realm of human life.

    Sat Sri Akaal

Gurbani tells us about spiritual avasthas of bhagats and kings like janak... and how far they got.
They were all out of lakh chaurasi and cycle of rebirths.

The degree of gurbani distortion as shown by sikhkhoj is just unexplainable and a way lot more than I previously imagined.
I have absolutely no interest in a discussion of praising or doing nindya of ddt.....They are what they are... and they don't inspire me.
Taksal means ''offcial mint'' just like money, coins or a dollar bill isn't genuine or official unless it has been endorsed with seal of mint.

It can be seen with the distortions and claims, that ddt is not the official gurmat as it claims.
The only offical seal in gurmat, is that by Guru Arjan Dev ji's Mundavani in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
Guruji sealed the gurbani for each individual soul to understand and apply to themselves as they progress themselves in sikhi. He also authorized the "Kunjhi(key)" of Bhai Gurdas jee's vaars, which we can openly use to cross reference and gain deeper understandings of bani.
He didn't leave it for any taksals or other authorities, to dictate it's meaning, just as sanskrit vedic texts were left for brahmin castes.

Paapiman, please stop this crusade you are on trying to make women out to be evil, inferior, lustful, etc that you are trying to do. It's precisely THIS reason... the fact that you are trying to hard to differentiate by gender, and put one on a pedistal while the other you are trying to throw in the trash, that you can not see the jot in everyone. Until you can personally see women on the same level as you... and only see that light in everyone equally, then you will keep fighting that beast of lust within yourself. You seem to keep bringing up lust, women, how women are lustful, how women are this and that as if you are trying to blame women for all the ills in the world. I am getting the distinct feeling that you are struggling with something in yourself, and looking to blame women for your own lustful thoughts towards them. It's time to look in yourself instead of trying to blame the other gender. You almost seem obsessed with this... almost to the point of hatred towards women because of what they evoke in you!
