There is one very common trait amongst everyone here. Everyone here is a spiritual seeker. Everyone has wahegurus jot inside them. Everyone has the aim of inner self realization. If you take a drop of water and combine it with another drop of water, you don't get two different things. Just more of the same thing. We are all one.

Discussions are good because you learn from them. But step away if someone begins to create tension. It no longer remains a discussion.

actually heretic was correct word for what he meant and not an insult in this context:
"heretic definition. One who challenges the doctrines of an established church."
-anti Dasam Granth stance is heretical by todays standards.  I don't think his post was bullying in anyway.

It's not about free-will or destiny.
    It is about NOW.
Hukam is taking place right now, and if you are focusing on past and future, free will and destiny. then you are missing the hukam.

This video is interesting. Basically a sikh realizes she no longer needs her guru. And she feels upset that she feels that way.
I understand what she feels, but I also find it fascinating.

Problem is that some people seem to have sycophant needs (they need to worship and admire living people and can't grasp the more individual or independent aspects of a spiritual journey), or they have strong social needs that cause them to follow a particular 'spiritual leader' to be part of a bigger group to socialise with. Sometimes, they can't be arsed (or are intellectually incapable of) making linguistic efforts/endeavors to try and understand Sikhi via written sources directly.
Problem with such people is that they are easily duped by pakandi babas and easily fall into 'groupthink'.

You have advanced from "Om I am a big kid now" to

    "Om Namo Yes"

    The full mantra is-

That's the weakest cop out I've heard in my life. Blaming Hindus when plenty of Sikhs themselves are all in favour of some rural pendu feudal hierarchy within Sikhs - without any assistance from Hindus.
This blame game and refusal to acknowledge that our own abilities and endeavours can play a big part in shaping our future is more dangerous than any Hindu (or anyone else).

I think that Paapiman is only repeating what he has read in books or rehit maryada or heard in Katha. He does not have any intention to hurt anyone, only lacks social skills. He is not adding anything on his own. He is sticking to sources very closely. But what he does not know is how to mould himself according to the sangat that he is interacting with . He lacks Social Awareness, and does not realize that what he writes can put-off people in a wrong way. Rules in Sikhi are not black and white...there are different levels of spirituality, everyone is at a certain place. You have to deal with them in a sensible manner, develop a rapport with them, and then introduce them to certain hard-core concepts. Let the other person grow first, dont just enforce rules onto them. I will give few examples.
    - for example, a little girl who lost her chunni:  One should go down to her, explain with love why it is important to cover head when eating food, and educate her how important it is to cover hair . Use love in words.  Another person scolds the little girl, and she is scarred for life. Even though both person were right, but the method of deliverance was wrong.
So one needs to modify their approach according to the sangat they are encountering.
If I am having a conversation with a non-veg, I am not going to introduce the topic of meat and say meat eating is banned. Even though, it is forbidden by Guru Ji but I dont have the kamai yet to tell someone to stop meat. They would be like, who the hell are you ?
For a person, who is not-amritshak, I am not going to bring up examples of Nigura- bashing from Guru Sahib, even though it is true that Nigure Ka hai nao bura...but you have to see the avastha of the next person.
Regardless, these harsh bachans that are used in Gurbani should only be used by complete Pooran Brahmgianis to lecture. They have shakti in their bachans, they can go upto a non-veg and say dont eat meat. He will stop for the rest of his life without any question. They can go upto a sharabi and tell him to stop sharab. The sharabi will stop. If I start doing the same, I would probably get into an altercation.
We, normal people should only spread love of Sikhi...and eventually the other person can come to terms with Sikhi.
In summary, the method of delivery is very important.  The avastha of other person should be kept in mind. Be diplomatic, and loving in your approach. That my take.
Other Singhs who have rishi-sidhi, shakti or powers can take their own approach as they see fit.

Neo Brother, I agree with what you say, the way the interfaith marriages has been handled is wrong but the handling came from Sri Akal Takht Sahib. As they have issued a directive that we find is not working out, then we have should be asking Sri Akal Takht Sahib to reconsider and put a case forward WHILST still complying with it for the time being. Revolting against Sri Akal Takht Sahib over any issues will have SERIOUS implications in the future of the Panth. We can see now that certain people and organisations have dismissed Sri Akal Takht's directives and continue to disobey the directives. They have started a dangerous precedent which is going to really undermine Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
We shouldn't be inviting parcharaks who are banning weddings, rather presenting a case to Sri Akal Takht Sahib on why their directive is causing more harm than good.

You can't just exclude and marginalize 80-90% of the panth like that. The Sehajdharis are still part of the Sikh panth and follow Sikh rituals and customs.

A family member of mine had a ghost in them. It spoke through them when they went to visit a spiritualist and it's conversation with the spiritualist was recorded. Before I heard the recording, I looked at my family member and saw that it was a black African looking female.
Surely enough, the accent in the recording was a very strong african female accent. My family member believed it was an angel, but I knew it wasn't and I told them so.
During naam simran I did ardas for it to leave, but it went to my friends house instead. My friend who is also spiritual informed me of this and did ardas for it to leave and go to the light.
I have been attacked by spirits many times in my life and I have found that doing ardas for them to go into the light along with their attachments (if their attachments dont go with them, then they can come back) and to not be able to come back is the best way of them leaving. Also, simply recognise them as a roop of God himself, as both you and I are and any fear you may have of them will leave.

Exorcisms are not difficult, it's all about applying Gurbani in simplicity and seeing them as roop of God- giving them opportunity to go to the light. Anger doesn't really get u anywhere in these situations either.

Well that's the most important thing. This is more important than "external material for kids" or parcharaks. You are the father! You need to be the role model, do the bhagti yourself and spend time with them, and project your spiritual energy and awareness out and into them.
I'll give two examples, one of my dad and one of myself.
    1. My dad did a lot of bhagti and he taught it to me. He would sit down and teach me how to meditate, how to read a gutka, how to do pooja, how to visit the gurudwara, and so on. And he did it himself all the time. Having that kind of presence had a huge effect on me, and it is the most important for a child. Its set the base for even when the child goes off-track, like I did.
The father teaches the child how to be virtuous.

    2. Now for the second example. While I was staying in India with my sister, I was meditating as much as possible. One day I was playing with my 2yr old nephew and we went to the gurudwara right after. So he wants to sit with mamaji, I began quietly meditating with him sitting in my lap the whole time. Some time passed after we returned, and he started playing. In his playing, he began to say the mantra that I was meditating on, all to my surprise. This mantra was known only to me, no one else.
What you do now will energetically effect your children later.

SAadmin reacted to Sat1176 in At the time of death, every being is given opportunity to connect to their real self.
Speaking of death just read the following which I found quite enlightening.
Transending death means realising the difference between body and soul and identifying oneself with the soul. When we actually behold the undecaying Soul within us and realise our true nature , we no longer identify ourself with the body which dies and we do not die with the body.

Sheds a bit of light on the pangti.
    Bramhgiani Nahe Marda

There is one part of us that must die; there is another part which never dies. When a man can identify himself with the undying nature, which is one with God , then he overcomes death.
