Paapiman, please show me where I've mentioned that this is the excuse to dance? Understand the realy point, as long as your mind is dancing but you're sitting (betraying yourself) in meditation, then what's the use? On the other had if someone is dancing by remembering HIM, then it is good.
Yes, too much physicaly exertion (which does includes any type of dancing, exercising, running etc.) are known to put the mind on spin, but that doesn't mean one should stop exercising and thus missing the whole point: we missed the point that the all the problems are because of mind and all the solutions are to calm the mind. Walking on your interpretation, one would ban dancing, singing, music etc just like the Mughals did. Stop seeing everything in black and white.
Here my point is NOT to prove or disapprove that bhangra and/or giddha is good or not. My point is don't put soo much pressure on do this vs that; this is allowed vs not-allowed. Otherwise, you're bound for failure because you didn't understand the purpose. Purpose is to calm the mind e.g Karma are NOT supposed to take one over the world, but you cannot live without performing karma. Therefore, always try to see good. So, let's try this today: BHANGRA.
On a serious note, you and Satkirin seems to have so much time to post and repeat your limited point of view without ever bothering other's point of view. I wish if I could have so much spare time. I would be better if we all save this time of typing the mind shit to something better for OURSELF.

    There's nothing wrong with dancing
Dancing can be a form of worship......... It's about what your mind is focused on.
The few of you that may understand true bhangra, will actually know what the moves represent.
You can dance whilst you are doing sift salah of Waheguru, but again it's about your mind-atma connection.
    Try it!

Satkirin, it sounds like you've serious misconceptions about the society in India and about men in general. If you've travelled and resided with an Indian family it does NOT mean you knew their culture better, you might have noticed that particular family's behavior and NOT their culture or behavior in general. You might have got the impression that in general woman are expected to stay at home, but that doesn't mean the society in general is like that. My mother was a vice-principle of school and her mother (my maternal grandmother) was a teacher in 1960s in India. And there were lot of females working even decades back. e.g if someone visits Detroit and make the general impression that people in USA are poor, living only on Government funds etc. then that person is wrong. In other words, if you're wearing black colored glasses, then you're bound to see the world in black light.
See, the issue with torture or rape is NOT with the men or women. It's the issue with the degrading mind and society in general because of lack of moral education and NOT because of man or woman. A bad man or woman would do the bad whenever they get a chance, it's just a matter of chance where they (man or woman) can act according to their maligned desire. People say that education will help improve the society, I personally do NOT agree with this because the modern education is devoid of real education (which happens to be called Moral education).
And regarding the recent cases of misuse of particular law against the male is growing at extremely fast pace. These laws were designed for the safe-guard of women but mostly these are misused by the women. I personally know a lot of cases like:
    - Our neighbors boy was slapped with dowry case because the girl's family wants money and then remarry. Eventually, he had to settle the case outside of court (obviously by giving the girl extra money)
    - From my friend's circle, a girl falsely accused her in-laws of dowry and when they confronted in court with lawyers; the girl slapped another case of sexual harassment on her father-in-law.
    - Again, a girl tortured my friend so badly that he had to end his life because the girl had already slapped a case of dowry and was threating to drag her unmarried sister.
And you might be astonished that all (except one) of the girls in the above cases are highly/professionally qualified. These are just the case from the top of my mind in recent years.
So, please take OFF your glasses and see the real cause and just don't start screaming Man vs Woman. This IS the issue of modern society/education/tv/grab-everything-you-want culture where both man and woman are equally exposed to.

I guess we're all missing the core point here, which boils down to only 2 points:
Food is the necessity of Human body, one needs food in order to survive. In other words "We eat to live and NOT live to eat". Grace and Good karmas are required for Soul's travel to its destination but Human Body's is the Soul's carrier. Therefore, try to do minimize the bad karma (be it drinking alcohol, plants, vegetables, meat, eggs, milk, day-to-day work or anything you can think of) so your Mind can progress and go beyond it. Basically, everything has karma attached to it (including breathing because we ingest bacteria!!), so be cautious. Just try to minimize where you've knowledge and potential. In Gurbani, wherever any thing is mentioned (including the shabads referenced above), it is revolving around the above 2 mentioned points AT THE SAME TIME. You cannot just take one and leave the other. That's where BabaJi has mentioned that "The fools argue about flesh and meat, but they know nothing about meditation and spiritual wisdom."

you MORONS (pun intended for all parties involved in fighting over this issue), when you'll understand that helping others have NO relation to one's religion, dress, creed........it solely depends upon the person's individual state of mind. It's a another story that that helper is wearing at point of time. e.g if some bad guys is after you and you're on run and then suddenly a car stopped in front of you and offered you ride to be away from the bad guys......so, in this case, would you (third party's) fight about if the person was saved by this and that make/model of car??? OR you would acknowledge the driver who was driving the car and offered you the help. Think about it MORONS (who are fighting for something which they have never attempted....helped someone out of LOVE)

Knowledge is of no use, if it is not felt and applied. Just like: Carrying a bag of heavy food on the back won't put off our hunger, it is just a heavy baggage which can only help to get some admirers who are hungry for knowledge and one would get ego boost from that. In other words, knowledge is a burden unless felt and applied, and when its done it proves to be a boon. Once again the guidance of real Saints is proven who can point us our mistakes because we're even bound to misunderstood the meanings of Gurbani.......Mind is Mahabali.

Witches are one of the joonis from the stack of 84 Lakh (8.4 million). In Gurbani there are many references to bhots, pret, witches, and many other types.......all these are some types of negative entities, specifically witch means female negative entity with some powers. As Satkirin has mentioned that in said Shabad, Maya is compared to Witch and that is correct. But I do NOT agree with Satkirin when she said that witches are not real, just Gurbani is comparing Maya with witches. Remember that, Gurbani (in the said shabad) is comparing Maya with witches so that it is easier for us to create an image of Maya based upon the properties and behavior of witches and one would give pointers ONLY if pointers exist. e.g when we want to define someone like Tom, then obviously Tom existed.
Moreover, these days some people do not believe in the existence of these negative entities. In other words, they have never dealt or seen them; but that does not mean those things do not exist. I did saw, heard, and experiences these some type of negative entities but luckily everytime positive entities took over the war! Bottom line is: keep your mind's door open, don't close yourself.
