I believe chalisa can be tough to complete. There is a shabad in Gurbani which mentions the three characteristics of Kalyug, one of this characteristic is that Kalyug doesn't let one's penance or tapa to finish successfully. Whatever the reason, your friend will reap huge benefits when its done completely with Gurparsad!

We must suffer one of the two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of disappointment.

A-shud Gurbani Ucharan
Ragmaala replied to SURYADEV's topic in Gurbani | Gurmat | Spiritual Poetry and Discussions
We Humans always demand goods of qood quality. If I go to Gurudwara, I would agree that I get the most benefit out of it and get the most pleasure out of it. So if a paathi is not reciting Gurbani shudh then it would certainly sound distaseful. So personally I dont see anything wrong with ur attitude but other people over here can point out more points. -
~ History of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji~
Ragmaala replied to dalsingh101's topic in Formal Debates & Discussions
I think what the Hukamnama states is that their parkash cannot be done on the same level, it doesnt say that you cannot have both parkashed at a same place , so i understand that Guru Granth Sahib ji always has to be on a higher level. -
Yes I agree very powerful and thoughtful reply by SIngh.

Promotion Of Worshiping Wooden Shoes Among Sikhs
Ragmaala replied to Balbir Singh's topic in Sikhi | Questions and Answers
If I loved someone I would not only worship my loved one but also hold the object that reminds me of my loved on in high regard. Game of love cannot be explained with human logic, and its futile to even talk about it, just have to engage in it. -
Promotion Of Worshiping Wooden Shoes Among Sikhs

Sikhs attach with Guru Naanak ( Nirankar and Guru Nanak are the same) and naturally show devotion even for his sandals out of immense love. I fail to understand your question of promotion ...? -
Promotion Of Worshiping Wooden Shoes Among Sikhs
Ragmaala replied to Balbir Singh's topic in Sikhi | Questions and Answers
Balbir Singh, I think you have misunderstood. He is just telling how muslims at Mecca became such great devotees of Guru Nanak that they asked for his khadava , for worshipping them. This is all a play of love, humbleness and humility. This shows the love those Muslims had for Guru Nanak. It doesnt necessarily means an instruction for us. And I also feel some sarcasm in your question. Now back to your question: You asked if we should start worshipping Guru ji's sandals since it seems like a good idea? Let me give you a scenario : You have Guru Nanak sitting on a bed in one room and You have his sandals at some other place ? Who would you go to see and whom would you worship ? I think I would go for Guru Nanak. Since we all have Guru Nanak we dont have to go to Mecca to start worshipping his Sandals. And who is Guru Nanak? Guru Granth Sahib is Guru Nanak Himself, we attach with Him not with his possessions. Nevertheless, I must also say that such objects or points of devotions like Sandals, Shasters of Gurus , their clothings and other belongings serve as a means of channeling one's love and devotion, and eventually meeting the Owner of these possessions. With every passing moment I realize how sinful I am , no matter how hard I try my each breath will be sinful. But Guru is all powerful , he has a different plan for every Gursikh and I am hopeful he has one for me as well. And whatever he wants he gets it done by me. My expectations are nill, but I am only hopeful , In the end all I want is His lotus feet to reside in my heart, given he has cleaned the heart himself before permanently residing there.

Meaning of Mahakaal Shabad?
Ragmaala replied to The Khalsa Fauj's topic in Formal Debates & Discussions
After observing the debates I have observed that these so called anti dasam granth preachers are the prey of their own haumai. They think that they have the brains to interpret the agam agaadh baani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib , and use it as a tool for analyzing the complex baani of Baapu ji. Our Baapu is a great philosopher, writer and poet. Even saying great is an insult to our baapu ji. He is beyond great... Just because these fools fail to understand the deep subtleties they think they are right. You can't even teach them because their full of haumai minds wont listen to you but instead try to come up with counter arguments. Mod's edit. No personal attack please. -

In Guru Granth Sahib Ji, there are often references to a stone named 'Paras' which has the ability to convert iron into gold provided that there is not even a thin sheet of paper that separates the stone and the iron. So my question arising from my limited knowledge that alchemy involves transmutation of one element to another is : Is 'Paras' a concept in alchemy? Many modern scientists have refuted the alchemists claims, was it the failure of their understanding to fully comprehend the subject ? Discuss.

Meaning of Mahakaal Shabad?
Ragmaala replied to The Khalsa Fauj's topic in Formal Debates & Discussions
People who are against Dasam Granth , Did they ever bother asking Guru Sahib instead of using their own brains ? Did they ever try abhyaas of Gurmantar and Even Moolmantar , have they felt the bliss or is it just dry knowledge without any rass, true knowledge comes from inside not from books and useless arguing, it comes with humbleness not with egoistic brains, do some bhagti and then try to come up with answers -
one question guys, How effective is the technique of repeating the shabad in ur mouth without actually producing a sound, kind of a mental simran? The reason I ask is that I dont seem to get any peace or rass from it. Either that or I guess I am covered in thick layers of filth which will take years to remove before I can see any effect. and btw has anyone done kamai of this shabad " Gobinday Mukandey Udaare Apare Hariang Kariang Nirname Akaame" Please share your experiences if any

How to deal with tumenescence when meditating?
Ragmaala replied to Ragmaala's topic in Meditation | Simran | Bhakti | Jap
nuclear... jokes lol , yes ur feeling is right -
How do you guys deal with NPT when you are doing your nitnem/path early morning ? I know its supposed to be a natural body reaction. But it can be distracting too. Most of the time it can be controlled but often the organ fills up with blood and gets engorged. by the way no kaami thoughts come when this happens. anyone else experience the same thing ?

Movement while doing Simran?
Ragmaala replied to Mystical's topic in Meditation | Simran | Bhakti | Jap
http://www.sivanandaonline.org/graphics/sa...meditation.html (i) Jerks : Beginners will get jerks in meditation. Meditation brings on changes in the cells of the brain, nerves, etc. Old cells are replaced by new vigorous cells filled with sattva. New nerve currents are formed now owing to the purification of the nadis (tubular astral vessels of the body) resulting from sadhana. New grooves, new channels for sattvic thought-currents are formed. The jerks pass off after some time. Sometimes there is tremor of the body during meditation. When you get these experiences you are progressing. Plod on. Persevere.
