well the first thing that struck me was that before the opening of the Jhatka shop, Sikhs were buying meat from the muslims. That may have been down to the non-existence of the jhatkashop, but that wouldnt really excuse the Sikhs form eating Halal.

Also Im wondering whether this Kharak SIngh is the same Kharak Singh who was one of the leaders for the Sikhs in the independence movement fromt he british.

Waheguru ji ka khala Waheguru ji ki Fateh
    Veerji,
I am putting little on what I know to help u.  ((Others please correct me if I am wrong and put ur inputs))
The Bani Ath Chandi Charitar Ustat Barnan is a part of morning Nitnem for 'Budha Dal Sikhs'.  Here 'Ath' means now and the Bani is mainly praise of the Chandi Charitar path.
It marks the importance of why we should do 'Chandi Charitar'.  The last stanza is also included in 'Hazoori Rehraas Sahib "  Chandi Charitar Ustat Barnan" is sung daily when U do Chandi Charitr Paths occasionally as here Guru Sahib have told various attributes of Chandi.
He has made it clear in this ustat barnan that Chandi is not a Human(lady) or not some deity but it is formless and is willpower (Shakti) of human brain under the hukam of Parbrahm
These Banis are very powerful.  If done regularly they are capable of providing anything you can ask for.  🌸((Jaap Sahib still remains on top though and is highly recommended before any Dasam Bani)) 🌸
Maryaada is same as Chandi di Vaar i.e avoid in the evening hours or continue for the whole night.  And proper hygiene etc

Yea this is the biggest challenges , the basic reason which i feel is we target an x number of jaaps we would do and our mind then calculates the time it would take . This is common even with paaths that we plan . What i did for myself was ..i stopped counting ..you could just do 5 recitations and try to fully concentrate on your voice and the meaning of each word. It will gradually develop and you will stop looking at the watch .

breathing in and out will too work out for you. Another method you can try is , you could visualize snow places or Guru Sahib meditating in such a location.

Wow what a great video. Thanks much.
Actually I was feeling the same as u. Anger overtook me everytime I used to come out of the Babaji room and started shouting on the kids for creating mess or doing whatever wrong they are always upto... And that caused a fight between us all.  one day he shouted "path karke Ehsaan Karti ho kya "
Then I Self analysed..   I was bringing bad name to my Babaji as well.. wat I realised is that when we do path it requires a lot of  our energy"Aakhan Aukha Sacha Naam".. we tend to loose patience easily and being mentally tired we react vigorously.  Then I made intentional efforts to improve.. be polite n sweet as my Guru Sahib is 'mithbolra'.. I should thus follow.. n m trying to.. though it's pretty hard.
Probably that's our initial stage n soon we ll get rass- amrit n its power

No it's not aimed at anyone particular.I agree it could be the withdrawal and years of suppressed anger that I did not deal with and smoked and drank to get over the stress. But the explosion usually happens after prayers.
By Simran I mean just jap'ing Waheguru Waheguru fast continuously.I found that if I did this before reading Japji Sahib and Chaupai Sahib my mind does not wander much and I'm able to focus better.
Let thoughts waft away and disperse. That is the problem. They wont disperse no matter what I do.It's harassing me from inside since the moment I'm awake.

I've always felt the opposite after simran. It usually makes me feel more relaxed and peaceful.
Sounds like you have some unresolved issues that you've been suppressing that are coming out?  It could also be that now that you are coming off the drink and stuff your body is having withdrawal symptoms in this form? If you are having suppressed anger issues, family are usually the first to be on the receiving end because of their close proximity.
Are the outbursts usually aimed at a particular family member, or just random?
Use simran to calm the mind and thought processes. You have to let the thoughts waft away and disperse.

I was in a smiliar situation with waking up at amritvela. It was going smoothly for a month and a half, but one day my mind started getting lazy. 5 minutes more in bed. I would get up most times after 5 mins, but I was losing discipline. One day, I just slept, didn't rise at amritvela. After that my routine broke and I haven't been able to wake up at amritvela for the past few months. I think it was a grace period with maharaj ji doing kirpa on my lazy unworthy self. I am trying to get back on track, so please help me too if you or the sangat find anything.

Seriously, you need to take small steps. But you need to take that small step.
The secret is: routine, routine and then more routine.
A lot of us are going through our stresses bro, Training actually helps in that department too.

Compound exercises works for me best.. Just hit mid 30's
3 x a week..heavy weight, each session 3-4 sets of each exercise (reps anything from 4-8/9)
squats/deadlifts, bench, military press, barbell back row.
once a week bag work to keep flexibility and sharpness..
As you get older diet is more key than quantity of training... pre workout is 2 eggs and toast with peanut butter.. post workout is a good steak, lamb or beef.. good solid protein with fats and gives you that testosterone feeling as you eat..
Young cats...advice to learn arts more than weights.. weights always there but martial art needs to be learnt early imo..

LOL!!! 41 isn't old .............. still young blood
In my opinion , I would do a regular sport that you enjoy and eat right . Its all about eating right. For example , you may play football once or twice a week , and that requires a level of fitness ( so your aim would be to stay fit , stamina wise  and muscle development )
do Cardio work , exercise bike ,  pressups , squats  which require no weights .
    Warming up is key
    1. do jumping jacks where you spread your legs and clap your hands over your head with stretched arms. Good for warming up the full-body
2.alternate toe touches  standing up , where finger tips touch alternate toes. Good for warming up back , buttock and hamstring
    3. Squats , good for warming up quads, hamstring and buttock
    4. pressups good for pecs.deltoids, triceps, and upper back
    5. seated stretches where your aim is to touch your toes alternately good for hamstrings, groin, spine , back and buttocks
6.thigh stretch , hold foot and pull towards the bum , ( stretches thighs) good for quads and thighs
can start with doing 10 reps then increase slowly to say 20-25. Its recommended 10-15 mins warm , its very hard to do but something is better than nothing hey !!!LOL

Obviously older you get , its harder to build muscle and more prone to injury so stretching is crucial before and after training . Its hard to do and is easily missed .
If going for weights , i.e. benchpress, squats , biceps, legs etc... focus more on technique and with light weight don't go or increase weight until you can comfortably do 12-14 reps for about 6 weeks. Then increase slowly. Your body will tell you if you are straining or easily doing the weights , then act accordingly. I would advise not to lift too much heavy weights. Do compound exercises as a must i.e. squats , deadlift ..
Theres plenty of stuff on the internet giving you tips and techniques. Obviously body needs rest so train Monday , rest , train weds, rest , train fri, rest  ....
I believe 80 percent is what you eat , let me add I am no fanatic or an expert just some views I thought I share and if you like them take on board otherwise just disgard them , but the biggest hurdle is starting it , whatever you want to do , start it and stick at it ....... it will take time and you'll notice the benefits .... Next time you know it you'll be 51 but feel like a 21 year old.
    Good luck
    HTH

You've said this a few times over the years jaikaara.
It's really important to have realistic goals and keep some routine going on consistently.
DSG is right about the importance of food. Don't under estimate it. Can you not gradually decrease your intake? Reducing carbs gradually is the way to go in my opinion.
I just had about two months with little to no training, which is the longest I've never trained in years (7/8 years at least). I'm shocked at how my body has retained shape, although muscle mass and some tone has obviously decreased. I'm just getting back into training now (as of yesterday).
What have you tried training wise? Was it cardio focused, or weights? Did you enjoy any of it?
Look just commit to 30 minutes a day for two weeks and see where you get with that.

i personally feel that just like there are some degrees which are not achieved just by doing study for hours for eg. say if you study for 8 hours a day it still doesn't guarantee that you would be a doctor. Similarly numbers of Jaap cannot guarantee that you would be a sidh. It is still considered as a abhyas.
The Kathakaars give those examples since they want to inspire the sangat to be engrossed in Naam. Someone who does Jaap abhyaas would be lost in meditation and would lose the count. Naam Ras gives you peace and tranquil, you stop worrying about things happening around. Who will count for you ? The Jaap is nirantar inside...you will want to lose count.
Siddhis come and are a blessing of Akaal. However i personally feel that energy will only reside in that body that can hold it. There are peoople who may start seeing things and predicting future but then along with these capabilities comes haume, arrogance. This arrogance kills abhyas with time.

So rather than focussing on magic , i personally want to request you to focus on abhyaas. Let Parmatma be the decision maker, He always is , but as for now we feel we would do so and so and we would become so and so.
