Most people do it in a very generic way.
That is to say - Most people do simran without any strong intention towards a goal.
So when they do simran to try to cure something, they can't cure it because their will is weak, their intention is not strong enough.
And this is why someone can do simran for 40 years and still have no clue what God is.
Because there is no intention to meet God in the simran.

    Let's keep it real too.....

Positions of power and status that can only be achieved by strong-arming are attractive to particular types of people. More so when access to large funds are involved. These are mainly greedy types, who are borderline sociopaths. What some people here have referred to as 'gangster' types.
The whole 'management' set up at Gurdwaras mainly seems to attract these types from what I see.
I've seen the converse too. When older, obviously corrupt, pardaans have been ousted by younger 'forward-thinkers' (who aren't really 'young' anymore to be honest), only  for those 'young' ones to become as power hungry and clingy as the people they ousted.
Ultimately as individuals, we have to strive to keep some level of aloofness from this gundh, otherwise it can easily lead to disillusionment (for some).

Yogi Amandeep Singh is a very down to earth humble guy. I had the privilege of having a short chat with him today about my simran experiences to date and he was able to confirm that the experiences were normal and encountered on the path within. He was also able to clear up some questions and doubts I was having especially with regards to anhad sounds and the views expressed by him were very encouraging indeed.

It may sound funny to some but this is a very good question by gavenu and answered by sachitanad108. Doing nothing in the meditation IS the most complex/hard task in this world. Try to sit for 5 minutes as per Zen (or any other meditation) but make sure your mind does NOTHING (no thoughts, no thinking, no dreams etc.) and then see it your yourself that "doing nothing is the hardest thing in this world".

I think that prior to the inner symptoms you describe, the scalp suffers some irritations and rashes- which is probably a good time to start with some scalp care products.  I've had these around the crown quite often and I just put them down to inner cleansing of all the toxins and crap inside us.
Tinnitus and visual or vestibular disturbance usually go hand in hand. There is very commonly a loss of balance, and feelings of queasiness/sickness.. It's this imbalance of inner fluids in ear canal that leads to tinnitus sounds as well visual and balance problems.

I think there is a greater occult event.
But also a persons unconscious mind rising upto conscious level component. For eg, people indirectly about their sufferings in guise of bhoot. But its working for them.
But I definitely cannot deny the occult.  For example, I dont know if its a co-incidence but I read in mystic musings how lemons are used in occult science. And then boom I find this guy using lemons to trap bhoots and getting rid of them.
The reason I believe this occult might be real is because there are different anecdotes that I heard or read from 5 different sources that confirm the same truth.
People who have no spiritual protection of their own or their Guru are more susceptible to such things.
I am still very open & have not reached any rigid conclusions yet. But this shit is something!

Just say you have gluten/wheat allergy & it is newly diagnosed. If you want to avoid anything to eat just say that you are allergic to it. People have allergies to different foods these days. So that should cut out a lot of stuff. It is a white lie but its your choice. Everyone stays happy.

@fromherkingsareborn - This might sound very weird, but Daas would humbly suggest that you do not go to such a Gurudwara alone, especially when the sangat is very less.

Sorry, what I meant to say was that we do not know how to use proper techniques via Simran or Gurbani.
Naturally, if one is a regular Nitnemi these things wont effect in the first place.
Sometimes these things also work under Gods will then what will we do ;(

Guru Arjun Dev ji's Martyrdom painting was actually inspired by that painting, which is done by the famous Indian artist Sobha Singh.
It was also inspired by the famous Italian renaissance artist Caravaggio.
    East meets west.

Rock reacted to Lucky in ASTRAL TRAVEL AND SIKHISM
You guys are getting mixed up with what you read about astral travel.
There are a few different events that are often coined under the same banner.
Firstly, in Simran, and in advanced stages of simran, you can experience "consciousness expansion" this is being fully conscious of exactly where you are physically and at the same time your consciousness can also be in full awareness some place millions of miles away!  This means you don't exactly "exit' your body or anything and leave it behind, but you can be fully conscious in 2 places at once.  A member or two on here has experienced this whilst meditating and you really won't ever understand it unless it's experienced.
Secondly, In simran/as per gurmat /gurbani. ...the object is to CLOSE the 9 doors(naun darwajey) and meet our One Prabh. This is ONLY by "Har Har Naam dhyiaana"  . Now, I can't say no more, because I don't know if 9 doors close and soul exits dasam duar to have darshan OR if the darshan occur whilst in a state of consciousness expansion. However, I do feel that it is probably the former and in that sense, I believe that our interest as per gurbani, should only be on astral event of closing naun darwajey and opening the dasam.
As per the most common explanations of astral travel, which involves atma (inner soul) exiting body via some route or method; Sikh abyaasee is only interested in leaving the body via dasam duar, because that is the only direct portal to waheguru. Leaving by any other of the 9 doors keeps you in the lower realms.
