SGGS sees both men and women in equal light.flithy minds is according to one's individual deeds, action and how he /she perceives the world and it is not gender specific.
So the notion  of that invisible mahapurush abt the wealth, women is not accordance to gurmat principle.

Instead of admiring the shabads from Guru Granth Sahib, which throws light on Mala Pakhand and counting, you are just beating around the bush and considers me a spam. I may have copied the shabads from some other website but the shabads are from Guru Granth Sahib, the main source.

C'mon guys, instead of questioning my intention of learning, don't you think you should read and learn the shabads and try to accept your mistake?

    Gurmat on Mala & Counting

    Mala in Adi Granth Sahib
In Gurbani, Mala is used by Pundits and Vaishno, along with Dhoti and Tika.

Ever since this worthless son of mine began chanting with his mala, we have had no peace at all! ||1||Pause|| (856, Kabir)

You chant on your mala, and beg for money. No one has ever been saved in this way, friend. ||3|| (888, Gur Arjan Dev)

Apply ceremonial marks to their foreheads, hold malas in their hands, and wear religious robes. people think that the Lord is a toy. ||1|| (1158, Kabir)

O Brahmin, you worship and believe in your stone-god, and wear your ceremonial rosary beads. Chant the Name of the Lord. Build your boat, and pray, "O Merciful Lord, please be merciful to me."||1|| (1170, mahalla 1)

The mala is around your neck, and the sacred tilak mark is on your forehead. You wear two loin cloths, and keep your head covered.
If you know God and the nature of karma, you know that all these rituals and beliefs are useless. (1353, 1)

Kabeer, what good is it to become a devotee of Vishnu, and wear four malas? On the outside, he may look like pure gold, but on the inside, he is stuffed with dust. ||145|| (1372, Kabir)

    Mala in Dasam Granth
    Quotes from Dasam Granth

In Dasam granth, Guru Gobind Singh is not seen carrying Mala and nowhere is he promoting using of Mala. In commencement of Chaubis Avtar, He had a jibe on Mala Carrying Hindus and Muslims by saying which means that with even mala no one can dyed in love with lord.

CHAUPAI One of them wears a Tasbi (the rosary of Muslims) and the other one wears Mala (the rosary of a Hindu); One of them recites the Quran and the other one reads Puranas; The adherents of both the religions are foolishly dying in opposing each other, And none of them is dyed in the love of the Lord.20.

Counting Beads is Contrary to Gurmat
    Counting beads – ਮਾਲਾ ਫੇਰਨੀ, chanting with Maalaa (rosary)…
When Kabeer Sahib realized he wasted his life in Kashi (“ਸਗਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਿਵ ਪੁਰੀ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥”, (sggs 326). ) by following the worthless rituals prescribed by the Brahmin / Pundit (such as counting beads – Maalaa or rosary, and so on), he moved from there. After realizing uselessness of empty rituals such as counting beads, he threw away the rosary and declared:
ਭੂਖੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥ ਯਹ ਮਾਲਾ ਅਪਨੀ ਲੀਜੈ ॥: Bhookhe bhagti na keejai. Jah maalaa apanee leejai: Bhagti (devotion…) cannot be performed while hungry (for Maya – Maya’s hunger, love of Maya…). (So) Here is Your Maalaa (rosary), take it back. (sggs 656). The person who counts beads (ਮਾਲਾ ਫੇਰਨੀ) is full of hunger for Maya (ਮਾਇਆ ਦਾ ਭੁੱਖਾ) – totally Mann Mateeaa (ਮਨ ਮਤੀਆ-the Manmukh who lives against the Gurmat or Teaching of the Gurbani). Those who take on Maalaa are called “ਨਿਪੂਤੇ” (worthless son-ਔਂਤਰਾ) in the Gurbani, for in such worthless stubborn minded practice there can be noSukha (ਸੁਖ).
: Jabb kee maalaa laee nipoote tabb te sukhu n bhaio ||1||Rahaaou||: Ever since this worthless son (i.e., mind, ਔਂਤਰਾ ਮਨ…) has taken the Maalaa (rosary), since than there has been no Sukha (Joy, ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ, Gain, etc.)! ||1||Pause|| (sggs 856). Thus, the Gurbani repudiates (Khandan) Pakhand-Baazee (deception, hypocrisy, humbug, pretense, etc.) such as counting beads (chanting with Maalaa, rosary). Such nonsense was introduced by those who purposely intended to corrupt the Gurmat (Aatam-Giaan, Knowledge, Wisdom, or Teaching of the Gurbani). Instead of correcting this mistake, unfortunately, this falsehood is not only carried on, but further propagated by the Mayadhaaree Pujaaree-Group (Bhais, Granthees, Raagees, Jathedaars, Paathees, and so on). It’s all “Golak Daa Chakkar” (money)! The Gurbani wants us to make meditation (Naam-Simran: Gur-Giaan, Shabad-Vichaar…) the rosary enshrined in the Heart within.
: Har maalaa our antar dhaarai || Janam maran kaa dookh nivaarai ||2||: (That person who) enshrines the rosary of God’s Name within the heart, is freed of the pains of birth and death cycle ||2|| (sggs 388). But still, as seen everyday, the emphasis of most of the clergy, clerics, Bhais, Raagees, Kathaakaars, Giaanees, Parchaaraks, Sants, Baabaas, etc., is to promote religious symbols and rituals that are strongly repudiated by the Gurbani. They are totally in contradiction with the Divine Teaching (Aatam-Giaan…) and purpose of the SGGS. Why does Gurbani rejects this nonsense? Because all calculations or all calculated Bhagti is in false ego-sense (Haumai). Consider these verses:
: All accounting is in egotism. In this accounting, there is no Peace (sggs 36). : Ganatai prabhoo na paaeeai doojai bharameetaa: God cannot be obtained by counting; the mortal wanders in doubt — Maya, duality etc. (sggs 510). This Giaan of the Gurbani is also meant for the Sikhs!! If we don’t believe it then we are not Sikhs. the Gurmat and Saakat-Matt are two different and opposing things. All counting is for the conditioned or material being (Manmukh, Saakat, Mayadhaaree…) for his life or world is in the realm of calculations — egoism or Maya.
There is no counting or calculations for the one who has become the Gurmukh (one who lives the Shabad-Giaan, Gur-Giaan, Gurmat…); because he knows he is not separate from God. He thus relieves himself of all egoistic or mental calculations through the constant abidance in his Joti-Svaroopa within.
So the Gurbani urges us to stop counting beads and become the Gurmukhi.
: Gurmukh sagalee ganath mittaavai: The Gurmukh erases all calculations (sggs 942).

Harjot Paji relax. There is no hate. This is a civilised discussion of two different ideological positions.
You believe in the DDT Maryada. Fine. I respect your right to believe that way.
However, what you need to appreciate is why the majority of the Sikh Panth do not and will never accept the DDT Maryada.
Damdami Taksal are well known and historically documented for having refused Amrit to Mazhabi Sikhs prior to the 1930's.
And there of further reports of them having carried out such blatant anti-Sikh discrimination even after that.
Then comes DDT's unforgivable support of Indira Gandhi + Congress in the 1980 elections. A decision hated by most of the Panth.
If it was not for Sant Jarnail Singh Ji, the name Damdami Taksal (first mentioned in the 1970's) would have faded away from Panthic consciousness as the Sanatan sect that refused Amrit to Mazhabi Sikhs and supported Indira Gandhi in the 1980 elections, which in turn led to the next 35 years of suffering for the Panth.
So I respectfully ask you to see why other Sikhs that are the majority of the Panth are not open to accepting the DDT Maryada.
There is not a shred of hatred and I don't believe Dhumma followers need to abandon their Maryada or respect for Sri Chand.
Let all Sikhs believe what they want and let us respect that those that follow a slightly different Maryada can still be considered Sikhs but obviously where some disagree with DDT ideology vis a vis impurity we will all agree to disagree.

Oh you mean don't do like Damdami Taksal does?

Because they pick and choose tuks to suit their agenda:

They use this one, without taking the lines immediately following, you lose the context, which tells us that the idea of physical pollution (and useless rituals to purify oneself) are false deeds, that the one who is impure is the one who 'sucks the blood' of others (using metaphor to speak of exploitation of others). So, like majority of Gurbani it uses allegory to take a physical reference and shift our thinking to our own mind, thoughts and deeds. DDT however, uses it alone to try to say that blood causes pollution. How can blood be pollution if blood is life force of all animals?  They pick and chose this tuk to try to declare women as impure because of menstruation.

Je raṯ lagai kapṛai jāmā ho▫e palīṯ.
If one's clothes are stained with blood, the garment becomes polluted

They pick and chose this next one and changed the context which is that a true sati is one who takes God as their true husband... as soul-bride.  But to push their agenda of women being inferior, they again took the tuk out of context and twisted it to sound like it's telling physical wives to see and serve their physical husband as a God.  If the original context was to forget these physical attachments and take God as your true husband, and surrender to God's will alone, then how can you view a physical husband AS God?  Certainly we are to see the divine light in ALL humans, but an individual part of a whole, can never equal the whole.  And if a wife is being told to serve a physical husband as a God, then how can she take God as her true husband as a soul bride? DDT took this tuk out of context to push their agenda.

Kaho Nānak jin pari▫o parmesar kar jāni▫ā.
Says Nanak, she who looks upon the Transcendent Lord as her Husband,
    ਧੰਨੁ ਸਤੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਰਵਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੩੦॥੯੯॥
    Ḏẖan saṯī ḏargėh parvāni▫ā. ||4||30||99||
is the blessed 'satee'; she is received with honor in the Court of the Lord. ||4||30||99||

And these are only two examples, and there are more! So you can't tell one person not to do something, that you are supporting Damdami Taksal doing the same thing.
That makes you a bit of a hypocrite!

Paapi presumably like Dhumma you fully agree with Damdami Taksal's support for Indira Gandhi and Congress in the 1980 elections.
Damdami Taksal have a different Rahiraas to the majority of the Panth. Why should the Panth accept their Rahiraas?
You paapi man are a non-Sikh as you openly proclaim and admit yourself.
It's fine if you want to worship Vishnu and Ram Chander but why can't you see that others do not wish to do so.
Longowal's Akali Dal, Singh Sabha, AKJ, missionaries etc all fully opposed Indira Gandhi and Congress in the 1980 elections. Only Damdami Taksal and Santa Sinh's Buddha Dal supported Indira Gandhi.
Had Indira Gandhi been defeated in 1980 then the last 35years of suffering the Panth has endured may never have come to pass.

    This is Damdami Taksal's Rahiraas:

(Damdami Taksal worships Ram Chander and Vishnu):

    (in Roman transliteration):
    Dohraa
Raam kathaa jug jug atal, sabh koee bahkhat nayt.
Surg baas raghubar karaa, sagri puree samay. 1
    Chaupai
Jo ih kathaa sunai aur gaavai.
Dookh paap tih nikat naa aavai.
Bisan bhagat kee ih phal ho-ee.
Aaadhi byadhi chhvai sakai naa ko-ee. 1

    (English translation): Dohra
The story of Ram will remain known through Ages and all shall ever narrate it.
Raghubar (Ram) went to heavens and took his entire city with him.
    (So, Damdami Taksal worships Ram):

    Dohra Those who will listen to or sing this (Ram’s) story;
sufferings and sins will not come near him.
This will be the fruit (profit) of the meditation upon the name of Vishnu.
No disease or illness will be able to touch him. 1
(So, Damdami Taksal worships Vishnu also):

I guess you are very eager to Know what it is:
Some of the videos i have uploaded too .
    1. Goat Sacrifice at Hazur Sahib: An interesting letter in the Spokesman of March 1998 describes an incident regarding a the-goat sacrifice at Hazur Sahib,Nanded on Hola Mohalla. This, it seems, is an annual affair even though "no sanction of any Granth was behind this practice, and such practices were observed only in Hindu temples, but under Brahmanical influence somebody had introduced it at Hazur Sahib, and so far none had been able to stop it none of the Sant Smaj or Takhts even though it is blatantly against Sikh tenets  reacted to it
    2. Aarti: The practice of doing Aarti, in Patna Sahib which the Dass has witnessed  is surely against Gurmat: "Near the
end, Aarti was performed. During the whole of this prayer a tray of candles was circled in front of the Guru Granth Sahib, as part of the worship. Flowers were distributed to the sangat to be thrown at the appropriate time towards the Guru Granth Sahib."
Now if this isn't 'Brahmanism' what is this?

3.Associating Sikh Gurus with Hindu Deities:  There is a painting of the Sikh Gurus at the entrance  with Sri Krishna in Patna sahib  What was so striking was that their faces were all placed on the body of a cow…,  specially at the doorsteps of a Takht. its Jathedhar proudly say Guru Gobind Singh is son of Luv and Khush.
Since many of the members in this forum are influenced by  taksali traditions. I would like someone to please tell what was the intention of making two Gurudwara one in Nanded and PAtna Sahib as Takht during British  rule.
    4. A Bath for the Guru Granth Sahib: There are some Sikhs in Jammu "worship Guru Granth Sahib in the manner Hindu idols are worshipped" by wrapping the volume (bir) in a plastic cover and bathing it. That does not leave much difference between Sikhism and Brahmanism, does it?
You can kindly refer your Taksalis rehat mariyada if you want to justify it.
Well I feel Dhandirawala has not got to such an extent to distort Gurmat  for which you all have joined to make him anti gurmat than these usless rituals performed in our Gurudwaras
I would like your Youtube corrospondent (USA wale) to make a video on this and give his opinion too (just for a change )

It's also vital to note that Professor Sahib Singh's approach is an innovation in terms of Sikh tradition. No other scholar before him had done an entire commentary based on grammar alone. While this is praiseworthy, commendable and adds light to the glory of Gurbani, it is not a "principle" of Gurmat. If it was, you would have seen many more scholars prior to him interpreting Gurbani such.  Grammar was important for the early scholars - you can find Kavi Santokh Singh in the garabganjani teeka using grammar in some verses, and Baba Ganga Ram was teaching grammar in the bungas of Amritsar during the Sikh raj - but the grammar was just a small component of many other methods of interpretation.

Professor Sahib Singh's massive Work is indeed Unique, but you can't say his approach is part of a principle of Gurbani. It is rather an innovation - but a good one as it adds to the plurality and intellectual exercises of the Sikh scholars of history.

angy15 got a reaction from Jageera in HAR as JAP?Simran in Sri Guru Granth Sahib
HAR(ਹਰਿ)  is a very common word in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. It comes over 9000 times(approx) in Guru Granth Sahib. The literal meaning of HAR is Gods name. Now it happens to me sometimes that when i read Banis and when HAR shabad comes it makes me feel that Guru sahab is telling me to  do JAP/simran of shabad  HAR which is Gods Name. Do share your opinion.
Does the word comes in any other Shastar like vedas,Puranas,Koran etc?
Is there any katha on Shabad HAR ? Plz do share .

Meditation sometimes creates  more sexuality in you as energy  is generated and it tends to move downwards towards sex centre. Mind plays a critical role in it .It only knows one passage i.e sexual passage.
What should be done .Just be aware of it.Be aware of all the sexual images,X rated thoughts .Be aware of them, but do not do anything about the situation; just be aware of it.
The sexual passgae cannot operate  without  your support. So do not cooperate with it, just be aware of it.
You have just been aware of what is happening to your mind, to your body. You are just aware; then energy is conserved. Then the quantity of the energy becomes more and more intense and an upward thrust becomes necessary. Now the energy will go upward; by its very force, a new passage will be thrown open. All chakras will be awakened and you will experience the ultimate divine .

@Jageera  "Anyways I cant read punjabi yet so it is out of the question.Any alternative suggestion you can make on books in english?"
Take it as a  blessing from Akal purakh not knowing punjabi otherwise you would have been  wasting time studying Fairy tails and Mythological Sikhi  .Dr Dilgeer is renowned Historian from Punjab University   he is  neither a missionary nor a taksali or associated with any Dera .
Why I propose Dr Dilgeer works over Traditional Samaradyee Books can be understood by a sufi parable
Someone saw Nasrudin searching for something on the ground.
What have you lost, Mulla?  he asked. “My key,” said the Mulla. So
they both went down on their knees and looked for it. After a time
the other man asked: “Where exactly did you drop it?” “In my own
house.” “Then why are you looking here?” “There is more light here
    than inside my own house.”
This Sufi story could remain as a useful example for anybody looking  to the history of the Sikh Gurus . It suggests that we may look for our own keys, our own understandings, outside our own houses, our own cultures, beyond the light of the familiar sources.  There  has been shortage of what photographers call available light to help us discover what we are looking for, but in recent years historians like Dr. Dilgeer  have produced good translations and intelligent interpretations of  Sikh History  and pointers to both texts and material evidence that others(like traditional Sampradyess) had not noticed before.
So its just we have to  come out from the  old sources and  venture into new sources  to understand Sikhi in 21st century.

    Its your  choice.

Yes you can read it but with cautions (its not 100 percent accurate)  that is the oldest available History Book. The other is Sikh History Ten Volumes By Historian Dr. Harjinder Singh Dilgeer .Its the most authenticated work compare to others done till date.It starts from  history before Guru Nanak and  till I think 2008.
English translation is not avaible online but His work in punjabi is available online .

Veerji you can start understanding Nanak philosophy by starting with Japji Sahib .I would recommend Prof Darshan Singh very simple Punjabi not hard to understand overall has a beautiful voice.
Then ones you understand the essence of Japji Sahib.Go to Sidh Ghosat Katha this will help you understand how Nanak philosophy is different from hindu Yogi's and siddhas .then comes asa di var .
Please remember don't be  doing paat only you have to understand and do vichar of the shabad as to what Guruji is saying.

Charitropakhyan film has already been made. Watch MIRCH, a Bollywood movie which is based on ancient Indian stories (its not as explicit as the Charitars) Since Charitropakhyan offers mostly old recycled stories, the ancient stories featured in Mirch are actually very similar to the tales in Charitropakhyan because they have the same source.
