Personally, I find it astounding that we Sikhs would be commemorating such a disastrous event in our history with those who caused it. The first Anglo-Sikh war was the beginnning of the end of the Lahore Darbar, and since then our community has been on a downwards spiral, losing the Kingdom, partition of Panjab etc.

There is nothing wrong or anti-Gurmat in bowing to someone out of respect.
I bow to my parents and did to my grandmother also. When we are introduced to elders from our family/village I also touch their knees or feet with both hands. I bowed to my Dilruba and touched his feet even though he is a Namdhari Singh, hope she has nothing against Namdharis). I also used to bow to my Vidya Guru and touch his feet with folded hands as well.
It is our ancient sanskrit to bow out of respect.

If you compost then worms will naturally find their way to the place and breed there. Every year I have composted, when I apply it to the soil in the late spring, there are hundreds and hundreds of worms in the compost and underneath it. Many little but some very big as well.

In the UK miracle grow is a chemical fertilizer. I suspect the same in the Canada. Why do you use that and what's it made off?
Don't cut down any trees you don't need to.

I have been organic gardening for about 4 years now. Have 2 compost bins which i use bi-annuallly. Today I have sealed one of them off and the waste should compost nicely for April next year. I use grass (weedless), leaves (when I can get hold of them) fruit skins (non-citrus only), any old paper from the house, I shred and put that it (usually old letters I don't need anymore and the unsolicited mail you get from companies), teabags, etc.
They break down very nicely and the soil texture and productivity has been brilliant this year. This is after applying compost for about 4 years now. Plus it helps the environment and all that to do your own composting.
This year we have some very good pears of good quality and quantity. Palak is very easy to grow as it grows anywhere. Had excellent dhannia, methe, methi, and onions. We had some good Kadus as well this year and last.
Only have a small garden space but get a lot from it. I usually stick to tried and tested product as I hate to waste the space there but always give something new a chance every year. Today I have cleared up the summer produce from the garden and will turn the soil over once more before planting some lassan.
Maybe we could share some photos of our progress next year?

On a serious note just read some white supermacist blogs forums etc Most of them hate present structure of their nations. They hate Feminism because they think Feminism killed their birth rate. Check white woman TFR it is around 1.4-5 something , many of them call it race suicide
I don't know much about this but even if they then why so much surprise. Every nation in world is blindly trying to ape them. They are benchmark of progressive liberal society People in many nations have shunned their clothes , Hairstyles to copy them. Their language is adopted as world language. In countries like India I have seen Security guards with master degree in sanskrit. while 1 girl batch mate of my brother who failed even computer degree   in first attempt got job in MNC company because of her looks and english speaking ability. In iNdia many very good students who are not good in english lag so much behind while English speaking fools who act like westerners gain so much.

chatanga1 got a reaction from SAadmin in Why did the Gurus NOT write the katha/viakya of Guru Granth Sahib Ji?
After Gurgaddi went to Guru Granth Sahib, the term "Guru" was still in use. The latest references to Sikhs being addressed as Guru, was to my knowledge up to the era of the end of the Lahore Kingdom. Both Bhai Maharaj Singh and Baba Bir Singh Naurangabad were addressed as "Guru" by the Sikhs. This didn't mean they were THE Guru, but Guru as in teacher.
The demise of this title for Sikhs came with the SIngh Sabha Lehar, when focus of Guruship was focused more on Guru Granth Sahib, and the term for human began to be discarded. Since then the term Sant came into vogue and has remained since. The word Sant offering no "rivalry" to the status of Guru.

    *sigh*
What I understand of it is:
Here we can take the scenario in two contexts.First, the woman/feminine character representing Maya/Ilusion and man/Raja/Masculine character representing human jeev/human as person.
So that defines how Maya/illusion tries to distract a person from his path.As our ultimate goal is to merge with that supreme. And before doing that we need to cross many sub stages. And to achieve a awastha where one is free from these 5s is one of those sub stages and yes  higher awastha though. But that man (with god's /gurus grace) doesnt indulge in all this.He just sits still in name of his Guru.
Maya again and again tries to allure him so that he gets trapped in his jaal/scheme .She(maya) offers him many tastes like taste of wealth, health, beauty etc etc etc but that man(person/jeev) never wants to be the part of it.Then she simply says if you will not enjoy my offerings(worldly pleasures) then people will call you thief(a weird/pschyo/mad/inhuman//impersonator/titles like that) then man gets suspicious at this moment.he says O guru If I deny worldly pleasures/attachments then It seems difficult to live here among people in human body and if I accept all this, then I get away from you.So then Maharaj(guru) himself helps him by teaching him to play tricks with maya(as raja does with that woman) with help of Naam ,and still he is living in world(as he was in Ward of woman),but he doesnt get caught under her influence(did not do anything wrong).
So I took that in this way.I may be wrong but thats what clicked me at the instant.
Other context is as it's mentioned. Then it goes for both men and women. For Men,to never get allured by women and vice versa.

Actually I liked reading that! Hope we all turn out as that Raja throughout our lives and achieve that sehaj awastha to merge with akal purkh!
    Dhan Guru Maharaj!
Yes this Maya is of verryy bad character, always tries to allure us,what a devil character!
Always wants to eat us for her own satisfaction by offering us sweet poison.
And devils are those who are loving this sweet poison and crying day and night in call of more poison.
    What a big trap!

    sukirt bhenji,
you are right, problem happens when people misinterpret or misunderstand based on their inferior intellect, in order to truly understand gurbani one needs to be in sehaj avastha, above from the qualities of rajo tamo sato. No one on this forum is in sehaj avastha except maybe one or two people. This applies to Gurbani and all of Dasam Bani. Some people think they are experts and do slander of Dasam Bani.
So be careful what others say, never accept, just stay in faith & devotion , that is the safest part.  Otherwise if people create unnecessary doubts in your mind, it will hurt your spirituality. I am just writing what I would say to my younger sister.
I hope you understood what I meant to say.
    Fateh!

the missionaries are atheists in the garb of sikhs. nothing in Sikhi pleases them. I do really mean what i said.
I consider a Sikh him/her who lays their mind, body and wealth at the Guru's feet, not someone who doubts, twists and insults my Guru's intellect.

I never said the above. Feminists claim that even if a girl says yes while drunk that means no. However, that is not the case for a man.
    You use strawman arguments. shameful.
You are rarely able to discuss as an adult by responding to what another person says. Instead you create an exaggerated twisted version of their argument to try to knock down.
