wow this just reminded me of a dream or astral travel that I might have had today or lucid dreaming, whatever you want to call it.
So somehow I become aware in my dream. I became aware that it was a dream, and I could fly if I wanted to in this dream. I have done this many times, flying in dreams, it can be quite fun. I don't know if while dreaming you are also in the astral plane at the same time. It was a beautiful dream. In front of me there were forests, jungles or trees, interspersed with plain green fields. There was also mist and some fog, and clouds which would make the dream a bit misty. The lighting was dim. It was not day time, probably either dawn or dusk, because it was a bit dark. Anyways, I realized its a dream, I was effortlessly able to lift myself up in air, and started flying. I was not flying that high, maybe just above the trees...I also knew this dream would not last long because often you cannot control the outcome, I just let myself travel through the mist, and it was just tress everywhere. Beautiful sight, something out of a Planet Earth documentary maybe. And then I have no idea when the dream ended.
But yeah, it is fun to fly when I become aware, but as time goes on the dream gets blurred, the details are not always perfect, its always a blur..just like a hint of things.
Anyways, I had forgotten about this dream, but just remembered when I came across this post.
ps. sometimes I am having a free-fall in dark spaces during dream but it does not last more than 1-2 seconds.
I dont know how to go beyond, it is beyond my control.

It may sound funny to some but this is a very good question by gavenu and answered by sachitanad108. Doing nothing in the meditation IS the most complex/hard task in this world. Try to sit for 5 minutes as per Zen (or any other meditation) but make sure your mind does NOTHING (no thoughts, no thinking, no dreams etc.) and then see it your yourself that "doing nothing is the hardest thing in this world".

I believe placing water near The Guru Granth Sahib Ji is good and right. At the same time, it is NOT the replacement of having you hear the Bani. There are lot of today's so-called scholars as well as owners-of-religions who say that placing water or having a Desi-ghee jyot is manmat (not the way of Sikhi) but sadly they are wrong. They neither understood the Bani nor the working/principles/rules of this Universe.
So, for the record, it is beneficial to place water (in round earthen pot) near Guru Granth Sahib Ji or any other place where the glories of Waheguru/God are sung/discussed. In-fact, it is good to place a glass of water near you when you're reading Gurbani or Meditating on the name of Waheguru and then consume that water afterwards or one can also sprinkle that water into their home.
For our monkey mind: Water is the first and foremost winner in the field of acquiring the frequency/energy/signals of the environment and this is the reason Water is being used in almost all religions baptism ceremonies. If you're interested in getting more information on Water Energies, then here is the list of books; all of the following books have information about the secret energies of water.

Sant Baba Isher Singh Rara Sahib wale used to say: If the Guru is not-pura/complete but the student has 100% faith in his Guru that he is the God; then there are chances that student will reach higher Spiritual stages and will eventually get real Guru. On the other hand if the Guru is pura/complete/God-Himself but student does not have 100% faith on his Guru, then the student will NOT succeed. It means that Faith is more important.
Also, why the hell you're so desperate to show the world (other religions) to counter-act their claims? The real point is: What you've achieved by following Guru Nanak Dev Ji? Think about yourself, in dargah, your Spiritual achievements will be measured and not your debating skills (debating on topics which are all illusion).

    On the Benefit of Debates
People do not debate correctly. There are lots of benefits for both parties... if one debates correctly!
For me the benefits are -
    1. Writing practice, debating practice, clear communication practice.
Then when my belief is challenged -
    2. I must review my belief, find more knowledge, find out holes in my knowledge and see its strengths and weaknesses. Like how one tests a newly made car by viciously crashing it again and again.
When my knowledge is challenged then my sense of self is challenged -
    3. Can I maintain a cooperative sense of self with the other person? Can I see them as a part of me when I debate?
Other people are like mirrors to yourself. You can see your ahankar through them. I can see my ahankar when debating with you, and I can watch it and put a spotlight on it and study how it operates. I can diminish it and become humble or I can inflate it so that it is huge and become pure ahankar.
Can  I lose my sense of self and simply perform the debate without becoming attached?
Can I conserve most of my mental energy by being pure in my thoughts and inner experience?

    Karm Yog - Bhagvad Gita
Performing actions without seeking fruits of that action - in this manner one merges with Krishna.

Performing actions with a pure mind
To argue with another person but hold them as a part of yourself - collaborative mindset. To observe your ahankar and let it go. Drop the ahankar and be pure in the mind. To be detached from the oucome of the debate, to be detached from winning or losing. To become detached from your beliefs, your previously held experience and knowledge. To see the other person in their full expression and to express yourself fully, without fear or inhibition, without acting out of social conditioning. Full expression - Taking action without being stifled by anything, not even yourself.

In this manner the sense of self is eradicated in a debate and a pure being emerges within. In Bhagvad Gita that pure being is known as Krishna, who resides in everyone.

I do understand your point of debate. But my personal thinking is: Getting into debate doesn't bring any good for either party; even if both the parties debate's intention is to understand some real concept(s) but I guess we already have the required information and there is NO need to learn or teach more. The only information that anyone/everyone needs is: We're seperated and need meditation to return to Him. Period. Rest all really doesn't mean anything.
For the last one decade I've researched/learned so many different philosophies, health techniques, tantar-mantar, energy-techniques, you name it............but the outcome is nothing practical in terms of Spiritual terms. Yes, I can get praise/thumbs-up/blessings-for-the-cured with the knowledge that I've but eventually it will bring only 2 things: Some good karma (from blessings and intention) and great Ego. And both of these did NOT fulfill any of my Spiritual wishes. But yeah, I'm doing karma.
I remember the conversation of Suleman, where he was asked to sing some Kalam but he said that in his past life he sung so-many Kalam's but it didn't bring anything good. So, he doesn't feel like singing it again. Now here it doesn't mean that Kalam has nothing Spiritual, it was just the intention. Same way, I feel like all these debates, knowledge, skills are nothing. But you know, it's the theory that I try to live practically but sometimes I endup entering the debates out of my old habit of teaching/learning. So, this is the real reason to restraining myself.
But let me put in brief about what I don't agree with you in this debate: Once a power multiples itself, then we can no longer call it with the same name as the original power. e.g Mud/Mitti when shaped and cooked in fire become brick; with the collection of bricks becomes house.......we normally at physical level don't call house a Mitti............. Same way we call ourselves human but still we're made of 5 basic elements. So, once Waheguru multiples Itself into Maya or whatever and then have had sex with Maya, then at the physical level we cannot say it was Waheguru's combination with Maya because free-will was at work at that level. Rest all Kaal, Akaal, Maya or whatever is just a name/identity. But at deeper level, everything is Waheguru as HIS jyot is in everyone.

that's a bold statement and sounds like coming from the one who knows everything....... your statement is like of scholar without practical knowledge: If the exhaust/silencer of a motorcycle is throwing lot of smoke, then definetely the problem is within the exhaust, right?..........No, the correct statement would be there might be an issue inside the working of engine due to which the smoke is coming as a symptom...............I think you got the idea where I'm going with this................If you study the energy deeply, then you would easily understand that a possesed OR person under the influence of negative entities does show the symptoms of mental problems but that does not mean that mind is the problem.....its just a symptom...............e.g if a Car is running erratically, then car is NOT the problem.......and problem is the driver who is driving it.
I'm here NOT to promote or sell the idea of ghosts etc....as lot of other people have already suggested that these kind of experiences DOES underline the importance of Spirituality and that's it.....nothing more, nothing less.
Moreover, visting grave is not the same for everyone. e.g A thief, a murderer resides in a jail; but the jailer, a doctor also visits jail....not because they are punished or something like that. They (doctor/jailer) have a different purpose. Same way, visting  a grave could mean the following.......its' all about the intention.
    * Your Soul wants to show you that one day you will end up here, so do something when you can. Or
    * Your bad karma is pulling you there; where a negative entity is just waiting for someone like you who could be the executer of their will (they may want you to do something and you will do it without knowing)
    * You are there to help some negative entitity (but rare as one needs to be very high in Spiritual state). Or
    * Just something where our mind is not able to understand...but at the end of the day, it is the play of karma where we do NOT realize that we're just doing as written in our karma.

das got a reaction from Koi in Husband Wife Jokes - I Love These
This section was meant for light hearted jokes........but in reality, both Man and Woman are part of the same universe where duality is the primary force. If we want to cross this ocean, then we've got to learn how to traverse this duality.
And where-ever (read everywhere) there is duality, it follows the following common rules:
    1. Opposition: They constantly interact with each other, hence the alteration and development of an object.
    2. Inter-dependence: They rely on each other for existence, coexisting in a singe entity. E.g If we look from space, we see that night and day actually coexist.
    3. Mutual consumption and support: Positive and Negative each give of themselves to nourish the other.
    4. Inter-transformation: Man can become Woman and Woman can become Man....one can change into the other, but it is not a random event, happening only when the time is right....may be next births depending upon the karmas.
    5. Infinite sub-divisibility
let me end this with another joke:
Husband takes the wife to a disco. There’s a guy on the dance floor giving it large – break dancing, moonwalking, back flips, the works. The wife turns to her husband and says: "See that guy? 25 years ago he proposed to me and I turned him down." Husband says: "Looks like he’s still celebrating!!"

Guru Ji says that even life contains water and we are killing livings in order to drink water. All souls have passed through many life forms to obtain this human form. Guru Sahib tells us we have even had life phases as stones as well as trees, snakes. Every blade of grass, every strand of wheat, every goat and chicken have had the same soul pass through that life form. I myself have killed thousands and thousands of life forms through my gardening.

For the record, I'm pure vegetarian......and I fail to see where did I say it's okay to kill if you want? Stop putting words in my mouth.
What I meant was: Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian involves the killing but being vegetarian involves lot less karmic burden as compared to non-vegetarian. It implies that the debate on This-vs-That is useless mind's habit where we forgot that the real thing is be out of karmic cycle by putting the dhayan/concentration on that which will lift us Spiritually. Concentrating on Vegi as well as Non-Vegi would NOT make you or me Spiritually advanced. e.g If you're pure-vegetarian but constantly debates about the benefits of being vegetarians (non-killers), then your mind is still concentrating on vegi-nonvegi.
Don't make This-vs-That your profession. Be wise to see beyond. And again, I'm a vegetarian and thinks that being vegetarian gives me somewhat more edge on the thoughts of the mind; because after-all: we are what we eat.

Here you're again forgetting the reality. Paapiman is right that all foods (veg or non-veg) means you're killing something, even a grain of wheat does have a germ........the air we breathe also contains lot of microorganism which we kill after we breathe. So, that the way this damn universe works. It is just a matter of choosing which involves least amount of karmic burden.
Otherwise, this universe's karmic cycle (matrix) is so vast, so complex, so strong that without the Kirpa/Grace it's impossible to break. e.g Our body does have millions of different kind of micro-organisms which survive only till we're alive and they are dead with our death. So, we've to give lekha/hesab-ketab (consequences for our deeds) because we forced the microorganism to die as we left our body (even though we've no control over our death). This is the bhav sagar/Matrix which we have to cross. In order to survive, we have to do karma.
