GurpreetKaur reacted to Lucky in Vibrating
Vibrations are a natural process towards good cultivation. ...You see, the smaller microcosmic channels have to first align and open up before the major meridians and central sukhmana.
It is all the same thing as in Taoism, Buddhist meditation, Tibetan, india yoga....etc.....they call them the meridians,...the chi....the nadis These processes all lead to the beginning of kundalini awakening before the longer process of it rising will start.
All the microcosmic channels/nadis that are opening and activating will be where 'rom rom' can be manifest further on.
In gurmat , we don't worry about the visualization or pranayama techniques because Guruji has given us the gurmantar shabad to take us through all these.
Therefore, it is important to NOT let the vibrations distract you from gurmantar jap. ...If they arise, just acknowledge and continue with jap.
Some people feel them quite a bit in the palms, upper neck and chest areas, ..whereas others don't feel too much at all. ..Everyone is different according to where they are internally aligned and balanced.
I've been told that anything above navel area is good, because it paves the way for sukhmana nadi.
Just continue with jap and the vibrations will just take care of themselves............Personally, I only ever felt a few and just let them subside but the dominant ones have usually been navel, throat, 3rd eye, and the heat/sweats along the back.

GurpreetKaur reacted to BhagatSingh in Woman brutally beats up mother-in-law, caught on CCTV
There are two mainly two kinds of abuse - emotional and physical.
In the west, physical abuse is almost split even 50-50 amongst genders, though 99% of shelters are for women only.
Women are 60-70% of the initiators of physical abuse. Lesbian couples abuse each other more than straight couples and more than gay couples, who have the least about of physical abuse.
I don't know what the stats are in Punjab, but they are not far off. I'd be willing to bet there is a bit of a shift in abuse there. In addition to husband-wife, I bet there is more abuse that involves the mother, sisters and her dauther-in-laws, and between the brothers. I have seen a lot of that growing up as we lived in an extended family.
There is also other kinds of abuse that is not categorized as such, e.g. the (fake) dowry cases leading to arrests of the husband and his family - this is abuse but it won't be mentioned in the stats.
Lastly, things you would not even think are abuse are actually abuse. E.g. Divorce is also abuse. It is very harmful to children, who are destroyed in a divorce. Children need both parents to develop into healthy adults. And in the west, male suicide rates which are already quite high, quadruple after suffering from a divorce! This is also abuse but you will never really hear about it.

GurpreetKaur reacted to CdnSikhGirl in Me singing - playing guitar...
My next endeavour is to learn some shabads - been trying to learn Ho Bal Bal Jao... and Tuhee Tuhee on guitar / sing them.
But anyway was messing with the guitar and an old Air Supply Tune (its not exactly the full song as this was just messing around).

GurpreetKaur got a reaction from Lucky in what is meant by Hukm in SGGS?
This Bhai sahib ji's talks are deep. Very few videos on this channel but worth listening.

Sister, the first thing you need to do, is get a job (as sated by Bhagat Singh jee). This will keep your mind occupied, and most likely decrease negative thoughts in your mind. You might have heard the saying. "An idle mind is a devil's workshop". It is very pertinent to keep your mind busy. At the workplace, if you perform well, you will be praised, thereby increasing your self-confidence.
Secondly, maintain your circadian cycle (as sated by Bhagat Singh jee). Try to sleep from 8 pm - 3 am (or 7 pm - 3 am). Wake up at Amrtivela, take a shower and do Jaap/Nitnem. When you wake up, immediately start doing jaap of Waheguru Mantar (it's a short Mantar). For this purpose. keep a mala/counter nearby.
Other points
Keep playing Gurbani on an audio player, when you are asleep. You can keep the volume very low, if you find it difficult to sleep with it. Yoga/Physical workout might be helpful too. Try to befriend Gursikhs and stay in their company. Sangat can be very powerful. Do Parikarma of SSGGSJ. Please listen to Gyani jee below.

GurpreetKaur got a reaction from BhagatSingh in Bibis wrestling at Turlock Gurudwara California
Watch carefully she went to podium after, so they did not cut her off. When so many people are angry they don't suddenly calm down just because someone Is at podium, unless that person is being respected by everybody. An angry crowd is never conquered by anger or yelling. All you gotta do is, wait and let them take out their frustration and then talk to them.
First mistake was going to podium and second was grabbing the mic from Ragi ji. People on crowd were no saint either but that podium bibi showed no classiness.
p.s: I like your profile picture, you look good.

GurpreetKaur reacted to amardeep in Varied Spiritual Approaches in Gurmat - Vichār Sāgar
From the same blog:
Nichal Dās (1791-1863), author of Vichar Sagar, was a very prominent Vedāntist scholar. His work was written in Brij Bhāshā, and quickly became apart of the curriculum amongst the traditional scholarly lineage schools, the Udasi's and Nirmala's. The main point of the book was to expound upon the philosophy of Advāitā Vedāntā, the non-dualistic approach in the Vedas. The same philosophy underpins Gurmat, hence the start of every scripture begins with ੴ. The passage above is the 'Manglācharan', the beginning passage in salutation to their focus of worship, in Vichār Sāgar. Traditionally in Sikh literature, one would find Manglācharan's to ੴ, to Devi Ma Shakti, Nanak-Gūrū Gōbind Singh, and occasionally Ganesh. However this concept of recognizing, and using the Mantra of ਸੋਹੰ [I am That], That being the Infinite Ultimate Consciousness, is present in Gurmat.

GurpreetKaur got a reaction from Sat1176 in Trying to improve 14 day blog
You should watch this if you can understand Punjabi. It's about kundalini by Maskeen ji. Worth listening, if Punjabi and audio is a problem, you can type kundalini surjhee by Maskeen ji and someone on other Sikh forum did the translation in English. It will help you with your problem since you will understand things in more depth. Good luck.

GurpreetKaur reacted to BhagatSingh in Diet and bhagti
Yes lohe da bata, bowl made of iron is mainly a way for vegetarians to get iron. Make sure to wash it and dry it after use. You don't want to consume rust and you don't want the bowl to get destroyed via rusting process.
In order to do bhagti well, you must try to avoid foods with tamasic properties, that is, food that make you sleepy, tired, lazy, overall unhealthy. Try to avoid sugars and starch, that's teh main culprit in the west.
Your spice tolerance is going down because you are becoming more sensitive. You are picking up more information from the nerves. You are eating the same amount of spice as before but you are experiencing it more fully. You are more aware of it.
This is a good thing and means that you are well on your way. Any sensory clarity is a good thing, and I would explore those tastes to bring more clarity into it.
If those spices take you out of the moment, then you just have to reduce their intake.
Also problems with higher sensitivity arises when you become sensitive to other people's thoughts and feelings and language, then you might need to find ways to deal with that. So be aware of this and take note if that happens, so you can look for techniques to minimize conflict.

GurpreetKaur reacted to DSG in Bibis wrestling at Turlock Gurudwara California
Absolutely disgusting !!!! makes my blood boil .
No respect for Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
Looks like its all about personal feuds .... if they want to fight , fight in a boxing ring ( it can be arranged) ... why inside a Gurudawara.
The sangat should all bombard them with emails , letters and name and shame those involved , have massive posters in their home town and around the world in all gurudawaras naming and shaming these people.
The sad thing is these attrocities are going on in majority of the Gurudawara's , some fight openly , some fight legally , some fight in stages ...... all for power.
Theres one gurudwara in the UK where 2 parties are fighting over power , court cases , fights , charity commission involved ... all for power and leadership.
My dad got involved and is a neutral body trying to get both parties to ammicably agree . One side said ok we can sit down and come to an agreement , the other side said no ... they rather spend thousands of pounds on Solicitors fees and an election rather than a selection. I asked my Dad to ask them one question i.e.
Why do they want leadership of the Gurudawara ?
They could not answer this question all went silent for about 30 seconds. For me sums it all up , power and money . If they are in power especially of a large Gurudawara , they have access to a large pot of money , who knows what they do with the money .
So sad .

For sarcasm you wana use /s. 'Lol' just means it's funny or to be taken lightly. Anyways I thought your comment was funny... if that means anything to you lol.
With regards to the video... This could have been avoided very easily if that podium bibi hadn't wore so many mirrors on her suit. I know she was trying to explain her dress choice to the sangat and all but the other bibiyan just did not approve./s

Sangat ji, I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. I wasn't able to find a discussion related to this. What are your views when it comes to what types of food to eat. One thing that I wonder is why does spice tolerance go down a lot of the time when your bhagti is going well.
Siree Raag, First Mehl:
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਮਿਠੇ ਮੰਨਿਐ ਸੁਣਿਐ ਸਾਲੋਣੇ ॥
Believing, all tastes are sweet. Hearing, the salty flavors are tasted;
chanting with one's mouth, the spicy flavors are savored. All these spices have been made from the Sound-current of the Naad.
The thirty-six flavors of ambrosial nectar are in the Love of the One Lord; they are tasted only by one who is blessed by His Glance of Grace. ||1||
O Baba, the pleasures of other foods are false.
Eating them, the body is ruined, and wickedness and corruption enter into the mind. ||1||Pause||
To add to that, a lot of people eat mainly from sarbloh is there any spiritual benefit from this or is it primarily just an iron booster?
