There are 4 Shabads (in that topic), from which you can choose.
IMHO, just follow the exact instructions, as mentioned in that Granth.

One humble advice ji before starting, please avoid mentioning your Nitnem and bhagti routine in your posts. Simply mention the problem.
Veerji, this is normal with gursikhs and seekers. I have been through this. I think it happens because of lack of sabar (patience) in us. We expect huge results in less time or expect some progress after continuous effort.
Bhai Sahib Vir Singh Ji used to say,
"Who are we? How can we even ask for naam ras to Guru sahib? We haven't done anything great. A seeker should continuously shower arrows of Vaheguru naam on the enemy (5 Chor). Sometimes, guru sahib, out of his kirpaalu nature, feels pity on us and gives rass, so that we don't faulter and continue to do abhyaas to have that experience again. The first avastha is like licking a tasteless pebble. Doing abhyaas during times of rass is a good thing to keep it going. But the real warrior is that person who continues to do abhyaas even when he doesn't derive any rass."
Puraatan gursikhs used to attend Kirtan smaagams to regain their excitement. Once a person asked a Gurmukh, "Why do you attend every Samagam? Don't you have a job or a business? How do you take out time to attend for such long periods?"
The gurmukh replied, "Main apni battery charge karwaan aunda haan", meaning "I come everytime to charge my battery."
So go in sangat and attend Kirtan smaagams to charge your battery 😉
Or you can also read Jeevanis of Mahaan Gursikhs. And Jail Chithiyan of Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh Ji is a must read!

Hello gurmukho I have been doing around 3 hours of simran and around 1:30 hour of paath daily. But recently I have lost the excitement I used to have. And now it’s like I have push through the times I have set for me but before It used very to complete these times such as 3 hours of simran. How do I regain that chao or excitement again. Is it just a state that will come and go?

Daas is going to try to do 4-5 hours of simran as when summer break comes I will have about 2 and half months off and I’ll be free all day. But I also need to get my body right so working out will be essential. So Im just trying to figure my schedule out.

Hello Gurmukh Jio recently since my family said I can’t jaap naam sitting down on the weekdays during school, my maan has been really messed up. I have so many furne and it’s making me panic, because on the weekends they don’t say anything and I am able to do 3 hour jaap sitting down(1:30 morning and 1:30 hour before rehraas sahib). And my mind is so calm practically no furne on the weekends because of the jaap and on the weekdays most I can do 30 mins japp secretly sitting down. But because of this problem I am beginning to curse a lot like I used to, and I don’t want this to happen, but for no reason they just come out my mouth. I am also around kids my age who you know talk about stuff that we shouldn’t and because of that it’s messing me up to. Sorry for the rant but I just needed to get somethings off my chest because I think of you guys as my real family, because I can’t talk to my family about spirituality, it’d just freak them out. So, should I start listening to more Kirtan and normal Gurbani katha instead akath  katha all the time? I just want these waves of furne to stop, and for me to progress in my spirituality not go backwards. So what can be done to stop cursing and speak nice words.

Wjkk wjkf veer ji. Dass has been in similar situation as you in the past and can say its not nice what was happening especially getting negative thoughts and using curse language is not good either.

A good way would be to do ardas to Guru Sahib Ji. Second try to stay in your bedroom (hoping that no is sharing with you) and see how that goes as you can remain gupt when trying to do simran paath etc.

Thank you for this public service announcement. I don't know what all of us would do without famous astrologers like Sai Jagannatha. Would it be possible for your Sai ji to lend me some money? Nothing much, I just wish to get on the Bitcoin train. Your famous astrologer can check my horoscope and know I'm good for it and would return the money once Bitcoin reaches 100k.I'll pm you my info once you give me the nod here. I'm sure Sai ji would earn a lot of good karma by this charitable act. Hope to hear from you soon.

Only once it happened that I spent one night in spiritual divine jaap , neither i was asleep nor awake, neither I was dreaming nor thinking, don't know what was going on that night, very peaceful night and the next morning.   I feel very blessed that night.
That week i was reading Baba MahaHarnaam Singh Ji's biography 'Se Kanahiye' in the evenings and felt the magic. I was japping naam in the free time and completely lost reading the book, listening to gurbani in the car and had that magical experience.

Sat1176 bhaisahab has explained it very well, what i feel is to achieve ajapaa jaap it may not be necessary that you go through the saas giraas process ..saas giraas is a method and ajapaa jaap is a stage of spirituality of a awastha as we call it . If there is Guru kirpa the person would enter into the ajapaa jaap stage.
    Waheguru knows the best.

    Bhen-ji,
The first post in this thread explains ajapa quite well like Jaikara already mentioned.
Saas-Giras as per my understanding means japping the gurmantar with every breath which is the ultimate sustenance of the body to function in this world. However it has few stages. It starts with verbal jappa out aloud. The technique that I was taught was to say "Wahe" - slight pause - then say "Guru". The key here is that you must listen attentively to what you have just said and the sound of your own voice. At this stage don't worry about synchronizing with the breathing. Just worry about saying it in two parts and concentrate on what you are saying. With practice you may find your own natural rhythm with the breath, or breath synchronizing in some form with the words. This stage is also referred to as "Bhakri". This stage needs to be done for a significant amount of time till you find your mind beginning to listen attentively without running off thinking other things.
When you can see that the mind is becoming more focused on the sound of your own voice, and it's mental chattering is significantly diminishing then you can slowly begin to lower the volume till you get to a whispering stage so that there is still some dull audible sound coming from the mouth which you can hear. This will require greater effort of concentration. Once again test your mind. If you find that the mind wonders off in other directions and does not sit and listen to the jaap then you can try for a little longer to make it settle otherwise return to step one where you increase the volume a bit more till it starts to listen again.
This leads saas-giras to include a state called saas-saas. With this stage you start by whispering the gurmantar "Wahe" with inhale and  "Guru" on exhale, where either the Guru being a little louder or same volume as "Wahe" part. You will have found that when doing simran out aloud in the first stage of saas-giras it is next to impossible to say "Wahe" and inhale at same time but saying Guru when exhaling was easy. The only natural way of talking or producing any sound is when exhaling. Because with saas-saas you are whispering, it becomes easier to say Wahe properly when inhaling with the breath. With saas-saas you should find that the mind also begins to jap along with the whisper. However your attention must always remain on the sound of whisper or of the voice of the mind japping. If you find your thoughts returning again and mind wondering off then try and bring attention back on to the whispering sound or revert to earlier stage. Key point to note is that the mouth should only be slightly open when doing saas-saas and you should be breathing through the mouth. This stage is also referred to as "Madhma"
When you have become adept at this stage one can try and leave the breath synchonisation and just focus on the mental jaap sound alone. This stage is also called "Pasanti".
Ajapa jaap means japa without effort (A-japa) and is the end state of saas-giras where the mind has now gone into autopilot and is japing at it's own speed without you forcing it recite, i.e. without any kind of will power. It's a very advanced stage and requires a lot of effort in the earlier stages and above all Waheguru's kirpa.

jo saas giraas Dhi-aa-ay mayraa Har Har so gursikh guroo man bhaavai.
One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind.
In the above pangti you will see the name Har repeated twice. Why? This is a reference to saas giras in that what is being emphasized here is one Har on inhale and the second Har on exhale.

Its taken years of searching, reading and "Saadh" sangat just to learn the contents of this one post. If it helps you, and you start walking on the path of simran, sooner rather later, without having to waste anymore time first trying find out these teachings on the path of naam simran then it will have been worthwhile.
Happy japping and god bless you on your journey.

For Naam to truly work, Gurbani needs to be applied, it needs to be a practice of Bandgi during the day, in your everyday life. All that needs to be done is for the gyan of gurbani to be applied, ie thought of and practiced during the day.

ie, if someone tries to wind you up, and you feel a lot of anger rising, remember they’re just God dressed up and don’t fall for it, it’s just Maya. If an attractive woman walks past, see her as a sister and for woman see men as brothers, other than your spouse or someone who’s actually your type if looking for someone.

Be kind and compassionate towards yourself and love yourself as Truth, as a part of God first and see God as others too. Be forgiving, accept you’re not perfect. Be humble, don’t have trishna (ego of Seva) etc. Be content with what you have etc.  Even rising to nindya can be ego, because we’re Nothing, just the Beautiful Truth. Things like the above are examples of how to live life everyday. And remembrance of the gyan is like japping naam.  Naam is Truth.

Hello Gurmuko, so I was reading online how 6th patshaah did joyti joyti. Even though I never got my solution I did come up on something interesting. The wikipedia page said that Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Sri Guru Har Sahib wrote bani such as 6th Guru Ji wrote "Brahm Kavach" and it didnt state what Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji wrote but it just said that they started their bani like this "Through the voice of Har Rai, the Guru.". So I don't know if this information is true if it is please let what bani guru ji's wrote so with their kirpa i may read them if they are real. Here is also the article link. Guru Har Rai - Wikipedia
