Its not easy to acknowledge ones mistakes and even more difficult to share them (even anonymously) and seek solutions. This is Gurus bakshish that you are doing so and you will succeed. Guru Sahib is saad meharban (always kind)
At 20.24 minutes on this video you will get the answer to your question.

This is not Gurbani - it is a shalok of Bhagat Kabir that Guru Arjan Dev Badshah did not include in Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
I would use the salok mahalla 2 from Asa Ki Vaar to highlight this same idea - Jeah Sau Chandaa Ugveah, Sooraj Chareah Hazaar, eta chanan hodhian Gur Bin Ghor Andhar..

To save viewers time, you can start listening at 7 minutes - before that is a ramble not connected to the subject. Core ideas are what one has heard before - start with degh, maintain sucham for 40 days..nothing new in that..what i find new (and never heard before) is the suggestion to sit in a front of a  portrait of guru sahib and do this 40 day jaap for a particular objective...personally i would never do a jaap in front of a picture of Guru Sahib...

You refer to some audio tracks you have used to learn the above mentioned banis. Can you please share those links ?
Also what motivated you to do these banis? Normally most people have not even heard of these banis leave aside done them?

So when you go to an MNC office do you wear your sleepwear ? or are you formally dressed? Is showering, dressing formally a ritual or a requirement? The statement that "why you need rules and regulations for remembering God and Guru"? is simplistic and inconsistent with Guru Sahibs hukams. Guru Ram Dass has specified in his hukam in Guru Granth Sahib....Gur Satgur Kaa Jo Sikh Akhaey...So Bhaal keeah Utth Haaar Naam Dhiavery...(ank 306) .Guru Sahibs hukams are get up early (is that a ritual? or a requirement?) Udham Kareah Bhalkeah Parbhati Ishnaam Kareah...(So having an early morning bath is a ritual or a requirement?)....this same hukam is in all rehatnamas, and in Guru Gobind Singhs 52 Hukams for the Sikhs before he became Aloop...Water  is known to absorb whatever is in the environment ..hence the water in the sarovar of Darabar Sahib on which Gurbani is sung virtually round the clock has curative powers. Hence the recommendation for having water when we do paath...I have personally followed all these requirements and benefitted from them...so would suggest that we do not spread our own understanding (manmaat) and instead refer to Guru Sahibs hukams (gurmat) for guidance and implementation.

Try to follow the tips of members here as much as you can. But don't let these things stop you from doing a jaap. Everyone in my family except me and my parents eat khulla maas but that doesn't stop us from doing our Nitnem or read Sukhmani sahib. It instead motivates us to do more Paath and do ardaas to guru sahib to bless our family some bibek budhi.
But do try to do your jaap at Amrit Vela in a room where they don't bring non veg.
Don't stop, just start your jaap.

the 10th door is sukham. From navel to trikuti is bhavsagar.   The imbalance of pavan from ida and pingla, cause this turbulence.  Naun darwajay (9 doors) are in this area. 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 nostrils, mouth, anus, urethra(pashaab wali jaga)..   MANN surti is connected to maya since it is connected to Pavan.  Pavan is guru of maya.     Gurmukhs advise that one has to disconnect the Mann from the PAVAN. Whilst the MANN is in pavan it will remain in thoughts all the while and be in tre-gunn maya. To disconnect the Mann from pavan is when you stop the thoughts, vichaar and furnay of the mind.  Can only be done by becoming thoughtless and ik-chit with internal shabad.   Goal of bhagtee is to become thoughtless and Ik-mann, ik-chit with shabad.

Final amature analagoy before letting the literate Sangat resolve this based on Gurbani.
There is a mountain. It is rocky and perilous and some parts are greener and nicer than others. There is a single path that leads directly up the mountain and to a gate. To which connects a tower with one door.
You can climb up the mountain however you may be able. Once at the top you cannot enter the tower. One could circle to the sunny side of the mountain pretty quick at the top. Lots of happy climbers there. But to enter the Tower you must circle to the Gate and proceed. To be allowed entry one must be fine tuned and then be struck and be checked to see if the Coin of the Shabad is True.
If one has found the Paath, it leads directly to the Gate and itself contained everything one needs to be Struck True on it. Built into it.
From this Gate you will see those not yet allowed entry given life outside the gates and sent off to perform duties in which to retemper their coin a bit.
You will also see the Kings Own come to and from this gate as they too perform their Seva.
Every once in a great while an animal is quickly proceeded inside with great respect and care that Vaheguru Akal Purakh has called for.
So we understand the general way of the Gate for most of us, but nobody understands the Will of Vaheguru Akal Purakh.

    Bhai Trimandeep Singh jee,
If you recall, I have already conveyed to you the title of a very big gyani. However, that does not give you a blanket license to restate your positions, which you have read about and may or may not internalized, to score debating points.
Pyaar is an important concept of bhakti - all bhakts reached to the levels where their banis were included in Guru Sahib because of their devotion to Vahiguru. You are perennially arguing using quotes from very respected Bhai Randhir Singh (whom my elders have met and interacted with), yet you are unable to grasp the love that he had for Gursikhs...when they would be coming to Narowal (where he stayed) he would do kirtan from his house to the station on foot and welcome them back home. His love for Sant Giani Gurbachan Singh of Damdami Taksal was legendary. Does your writing convey the fragrance of the same pyaar for others on the forum? (Ask yourself and keep that answer to yourself.)
All  I see  is debate and sticking to ones position - this is all vivaad - a path that goes nowhere because there is no respect for the other point of view, and no atmic gyaan for the formula you are repeating all the time ...the hukamnamas from Gurbani that Guru Sahiban got from Akal Purakh after a lot bhakti and in response to a specific question or thought are bandied about in debates without context...just to prove ones own point..
This debate is the bane of all groups which pushes away genuine seekers ...this group has been relatively immune to this vivaad and allow me to request you to go offline for some days or directly write to the other posters, introspect and then consider next steps.
You have in the past agreed to do so but sadly have not implemented it..may I request you now once again with folded hands to take a break and start treating Gurbani with respect and not use it to score debating points.
A rose does not need to announce its fragrance. I am sure you can teach us with your fragrance in due course...
    Thank you for your consideration.

Absolutely brilliant, not only about a brief, simple and clear enunciation of  the difference between jog mat and  gurmat  (that more than half a dozen books by various authors couldn't) but about overall bhakti...learnt that one must allocate at least 2 hrs both morning and evening to the gurmantar jaap..bhai sahib did it for over 2 years before Guru Sahib blessed him...a must listen..thank you sat veerji for posting..

Sir, when you do not agree with the other side, it is disrespectful to restate your argument. Shouting your point by writing in Caps makes it worse.
My position is unchanged and you are welcome to yours.
Over six decades of my life, I have always wondered where these deras came up from? In the 70s and 80s when I was growing up, all these deras were non existent or at the periphery of thought and no one paid attention to them...the universal pyaar for Sikhee subsumed all these so called differences in observations which later started being talked about as different "maryadas' to give them a veneer of respectability. Post Bluestar, through state patronage and otherwise, they have mushroomed to break Sikhs from Bani and tangle them up in their maryadas.
The only purpose of these deras, as I see them,  is to misguide the people and give them such an injection, that love for Sikhee and love for humanity is secondary to love for "their" maryada and their "babajee" who travels in an SUV with a guard of twenty well built people...using sangats money....the sadhus and sants I have grown up with, never built any deras, some didn't even build a hut for themselves ...yet they could change you inside out when you met them..
Bhai Vir Singh, an ordinary Sikh with no dera and no guards influenced more people into Sikhee than any of these derawadis put together. He did not set any maryada. Don't take my word for it, hear how he changed Prof Puran Singh from being a bhagvaa Sadhu to taking Khande De Pahul...how he changed katar Arya Samajis into Sikhs just by speaking to them...by watching the series below. The fragrance of Sikhee is that of a rose which  does not announce, much less shout about its presence,...but we all love the smell when we are around it.
If you still disagree, I respect your views but don't agree with them...

    Well understood. Thanks
I hope you are aware that the pooran Bhramgyani never built a structure wherever he did bandgi, in fact he destroyed the hut where he stayed before moving on to another location. His "followers" built all these structures and this maryada that you referred to.
Also do remember that a Brahmgyani does not have the power to make another person a Brahmgyani - that is only with Vahiguru and Guru Granth Sahib our guru...so while all sadhus with kamayee are to be respected our connect should only be with our Guru not with a sadhu.

The Maryada of a Sikh is what Guru Gobind Singh blessed us with. Period. He did not give any dera any option to amend it.  So please be careful in your choice of words.
Sikhs in the UK have fought and won the war to wear turbans instead of helmets at work. I don't know where you stay, but remember the Sikhs fought both World Wars with turbans, not helmets.
Finally, deriving income from alcohol or tobacco will impact your kamayee and your spiritual advancement.
