    The summary provided by Sikhkhoj deliberately left out the important pieces of information. His post made it sound like the scholars were the writers of the text whereas they were only the narrators of the text in Sanskrit.
    No wonder he wouldn't put the whole text up, even after you asked him Amardeep, and I'm glad I looked it up to see if I could find it on the net because sikhkhoj's post simply wasn't the whole truth.
    This is the danger of having people with agendas on the forum. They deliberately misrepresent, and the onus falls on goats like me to bring the whole story. I wonder how his fanclub will take it. They loved every post of his. Like, like, like...

    What is written is correct. it just means most of the indian population is derived from luv and kush. remember they cam during the treta jug which was ages away.

    also i respect baba mohan ji very much but they are not the current jathedars of taksal that was passed over to sant baba kartar singh ji. if you doubt this then i suggest you go to gurmatveechar.com and listen to the katha by baba gurbachan singh ji bhindrawalae where there isa file in which they state where they will be passing their authority of the taksal upon them.

    Satkartar

    Looking over the pages of history many different avatars have graced the land of India with their presence.

    Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji ‘ Khalsa’ Bhindrawale was the Jathedar of the original Samparda Bhindrawale Taksal at Gurdwara Akhand Parkash in Bhinder-Kala (currently Sant-Giani Mohan Singh Ji ‘Khalsa’ Bhindrawale).

    Baba Ji is also considered a Jathedar of the modern day Mehat-Chowk Taksaal at Gurdwara Gurdarshan Parkash by modern day ‘Damdami Taksalis’ (www.damdamitaksal.org, www.damdamitaksal.com).

    Baba Ji lists some small facts about the 10 Guru Sahibs on pages 13 to 23 of his book ‘Gurbani Paath Darshan’.

    Baba Ji states that the “Bedi†family of Guru Nanak Maharaaj can be linked back to a Kush the son of Siri Raam Chandra. And because a descendant of Kush studied the Vedas at Kanshee the family was called the “Bedi†family.

    Guru Angad Maharaaj Ji’s “Tehan†lineage is said to go back to to the son of Siri Lashman Ji whose name was Takh and hence his lineage was known as the ‘Tehan’ family.

    Guru Amardass Ji’s “Bhalla†lineage can be linked to the brother of Siri Raam Chandra whose name was Bharath, his son Bhallan is said to have given his name to the “Bhalla†family.

    Guru Raamdass Ji’s “Sodhi†lineage can be linked back to Luv the son of Siri Raam Chandra. The descendants of Luv won over the kingdom of “Snoaudh†and from there the “Sodhi†family descends.

    In this way Baba Ji has linked all of the Gurus back to the family of Siri Raam Chandra Ji. We cannot deny these links as they are agreed upon not only by Panth-Rattan Baba Gurbachan Singh ‘Khalsa’ but also many other Nirmala, Udasi and Sevapanthi Gurmukh Pyare, Sadhu Sants. This is also confirmed by the writings of Dashmesh Pitta Guru Gobind Singh in ‘Bachittar-Natak’.

    Can we really say that the entire of the 10 Gurus lineage linking back to Siri Raam Chandra is a coincidence? Or should we just ignore this true fact just in case we are scared of being classed as ‘Hindus’?

    In Sikh theology/world, SGGS is living Guru. We treat as a living being, over and above mother, father, sister, brother. So your answer would lie - in another question what would one do if their mother, father, sister, brother was burn alive?

    Actually, there is already bill tabled in india for declaring sggs as living guru -living being, but for time being any insult or beadhi against sggs is consider crime under section- Under section 295A of Indian penal code. Most western countries have hate crime laws:

    Well I'll give you the short answer first - if you read past the mool mantar, Guru Nanak says that everything is a form of God. You, me, the oceans, the trees, the specs of sand on the beach to the specs of light in the cosmos. What does this mean?
    This is an inner experience people have where they see the "oneness" of everything, they see God radiating through everything including themselves as this One Being, Purakh.

    Welcome Gyan Parbodh to the forum.This is based on my own research both on modern day school of thought and traditional sikh school of thought-

    You will find two Sikh school of thoughts-

    Modern day Sikh thought of God: abhramic version of God (due to british influence when they were ruling India, they implanted their protestant victorian influence on sikh thought- to divide and rule- Sikh religion as we were seen as a threat- british umpire)

    Traditional Sikh thought of creator:

    Vahiguroo (God)

    In Sikh theology, Vahiguroo is ONE ( "Ik" Ongkar). However, to realize and feel oneness of Vahiguroo in everyone, in everything and in Vahiguroo attributes, Vahiguroo is consider to have two states- nirgun and sargun. In fact, whole sikh foundation is based on nirgun and sargun state of Vahiguroo.

    Definition of Nirgun form/state of Vahiguroo in its essence is Sat(truth) Chit(Supreme Consciousness) anand (Blissful) which cannot be described but knowledge of supreme existence of Vahiguroo can only be felt and attained

    Definition of Sargun form/state of Vahiguroo- Sargun state of Vahiguroo is when nirgun original state of Vahiguroo immanent its attributes:

    i) Shabad - which explains the attributes of Vahiguroo but most importantly- shabad which has (gyan)knowledge of Vahiguroo When one meditates on shabad, it unites human being fully with God.

    ii) Creation- creator is infused in its creation like how fragnance is infused into the flower.

    iii) Physical form of Vahiguroo- Highest emobidment of Vahiguroo- Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji divine avtar of Nirgun Vahiguroo followed by six different type of avtars in Indic Philosphy.

    Nirgun state of Vahiguroo transcendent its attributes to sargun during creation and it's ever present through out cycle of yugas/ages (Satjug, treta, dvapar and kaljug).

    Perfect example of Nirgun transcedenting its immanent to Sargun is deep spiritual meaning of - Ikongkar (First Mantra in our living guru- Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ikongkar~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Ik- Indicates Nirgun form/state of Vahiguroo
    Ong- indicates nirgun attributes transcedent itself to sargun - shabad/creation
    Kar- Kar intertwines both sargun and nirgun state of Vahiguroo
    a) What are Vahiguroo attributes?
    - Attributes of Vahiguroo are limitless and its beyond human comprehension as stated in jaap sahib (one of most important composition which talks about nirgun sargun flow of God).
    However, main attributes of Vahiguroo are mentioned in Gurmantar- Vahiguroo itself and Mool Mantra.
    Gurmantar- Vahiguroo
    Vahi (Acharaj/Wonderful Roop) Guroo - Bring one from darkness to light
    As our state of mind changes, one start feeling deeper meaning of Vahiguroo Gurmantar-
    Vahi (Acharaj/Wonderful roop) Guroo- chaitan roop (all prevading super consciousness atma paratma)
    Mool Mantra-
    Ikongkar = ( One Vahiguroo Nirgun/Sargun Interconnected/intertwine with one and another)
    Satnaam- His name is truth
    Kartapurkh- He himself is creator.
    Nirbhau- He is without fear.
    Nirvair- He does not have any enemy
    Akaal Moorat- He is without time, he is exist without shape or form.
    Ajooni- Without birth/death
    Saibhang- He is light of knowledge
    Gurparsad - He can be felt by grace of Guru(Vahiguroo)
    Jap - Meditate
    Aad sach means Vahiguroo always been truth. One cannot find confine- Vahiguroo in time or space- Aad Sach.
    Jagud Sach- From the beginnning of all yugs(ages) you are truth.
    Habhi Sach: Vahiguroo is truth in the present with no change.
    Nanak Hosi bhi sach: Nanak says, vahiguroo will be always truth in future with any change
    In gurbani nirgun and sargun are one:
    Sargun Nirgun Nirankar Sun Samadhi Aaap, Aaapie Kiya Nanaka Apaie Fer Jaap ||
    Gurbani further illustrates one immanent to many:
    Nirgun Tae Sargun Thiya (From Nirgun vahiguroo, sargun came).
    From formless, He appeared as form.
    Then in Jaap sahib, Guru gobind singh ji shows us how nirgun transcedent to many and then from many back to one(Nirgun):
    Ek moorat(i) anek darsan koon roop anek|| (Jaap)
    Thou, the One Entity, appearest as Many creating innumerable forms.
    Khel khel akhel khelan ant ko phir(i) ek||81||
    After playing the world-drama, when Thou wilt stop the play, Thou wilt be the same One again.81.
    b.) How this whole universe was created?
    - The whole universe/multiverse was created by shabad resosance(divine sound) upon nirgun vahiguroo transcedenting its attributes to sargun.
    As our living guru- gurbani states:
    Utpat Parloa Shabade Hovaie
    Creation and destruction occurs through divine shabad
    Shabade hi fir opat hovaie
    Through the shabad, creation happens again.
    c) What is the shabad behind creation and destruction?
    Gurbani states:
    Pirthame On(g)kar So Dhun Poran Jagat Mae Raha ||
    Fist ongkar was recited and that resosance created world and give nourishment to this world. (Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Dasam Granth Sahib)
    Ongkar aad kathni anad, Khal Khand Khyal Gurbar Akaal ||
    accoding to Bhai Gurdas Ji it is written that Guru Nanak DEv Ji travelled the word(9 Khand). There is a story of Sant Ishar Singh Ji Rara Walae in wolverhampton close to the house they left the world in used to go into the local park and circle it a few times whilst doing simran. At the end they bow to a tree and walk back home. when the devotees asked why they did this Sant Ji stated it was due to Guru Nanak DEv Ji once sitting under the shade of that particular tree.
    Sikhs were in contact with Baghdad by the time of Guru Hargobind, though it was likely earlier. Sikhs had also reached Burma by the time of the third Guru. The Sikhs are first recorded in North America by 1780. Records before the 1700s are super difficult to find and disseminate In the early 1800s Sikhs were located around the Caspian sea as well. For Guru Nanak to have reached Italy is not a far fetch at all considering the amount of transportation infrastructure across the Middle East and by sea. The Guru did not necessarily need to walk across the Middle East, he could have taken transportation which was in ample supply. These are recorded by sources external to Sikhi.
    I was just contemplating on shabad-
    Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji writes:
    Āaḏ gur▫e namah
    Jugāḏ gur▫e namah
    Saṯgur▫e namah
    Srī gurḏev▫e nameh ||
    Based on various tekas, arth of this shabad above are more sakar/sargun. From the context of uthanka arth(as it was believed sri guru arjan dev ji dedicated this shabad to his previous guru maharaj), anyway here are arth given as follows:
    Aad Gur E Nameh - Guru Nanak Dev Ji Ko Namaskar
    Jugad Gur E Nameh- Guru Angad Dev Ji Ko Namaskar
    Satgur E Nameh - Sri Guru Amar Das Ji Ko Namaskar.
    Sri Gurdev E Nameh - finally my present gurdev- Sri Guru Ram Das Ji Ko Namaskar. Note - Sri indicates one being around maya and controlling the maya.
    That is clearly sargun upasana, it shows there is no black and white rule in Sikhism, when it comes to meditation. Sargun is equally parvan in our dharam, as surti goes more subtle and subtle towards nirgun, one realizes more deep adhyatamic/spiritual meaning of the same shabad, more towards nirgun upasana.
    Āaḏ gur▫e namah
    Jugāḏ gur▫e namah
    Saṯgur▫e namah
    Srī gurḏev▫e nameh ||
    I bow to the guiding consciousness that takes us to realisation.
    I bow to wisdom througout the ages.
    I bow to True wisdom.
    I bow to the great unseen Wisdom.
    enjoy..!!
    In the presence of the Panj Pyare and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee appropriate punishment is ordained for any sins commited, but even the most serious sins are forgiven.  The person who comes and begs for forgiveness is not punished in the afterlife in the Court of God and Dharamraj (Vaaheguroo’s Judge) cannot punish that person.  If the person does not admit to their sins here, then they will get punished in God’s Court and may have to go through various life-form’s, births and deaths as punishment. The person that retakes Amrit is to accept the punishment ordained, as being just and act upon it. Until all the punishment has been completed, the person is to consider themselves as sinful and their sins as not having been forgiven. After completing the punishment, Karah Parshad is to be prepared and an Ardas is to be performed. That person can then consider themselves as forgiven and can become one of the Panj Pyare in future Amrit ceremonies. Those taking Amrit for the first time do not get punished for their past sins/mistakes
    The user did it un-intentionally. Its very rare to see alcohol in yoghurt. So no need to worry in my personal opinion.
    Do you think consuming homeopathic medicine will be in violation of rehat?
    Even so, given the epochal nature of 1699, it is surprising they didn't go into more detail. Kankan does however say "5 Sikhs were asked for".
    If the 5 were taken into tents then only they and Guru ji really know what happened, what makes me laugh is when people today talk as if they actually witnessed the day itself.
    I don't know what the big fuss is about myself. All accounts seem to point at 5 people being chosen. Amrit being given with a khanda. Keeping of kesh and weapons and following some injunctions especially in terms of avoiding certain schismatic groups. Goats or no goats, it doesn't change the test and the fact that they came forward not knowing what was to happen to them. A test of loyalty, bravery, conviction etc.
    In one of the posts papimaan wrote that women aren't qualified to take Amrit at hazur sahib.. This is actually really wrong.. I know many Bibis who took Amrit from Sri hazur sahib( not the kard Amrit but the khandey di bata amrit)...
    Just to clarify...
    Secondly women did many other things other than be in the kitchen for example they were kirtanis, katha vachaks, warriors etc... They wernt stuck in the kitchens to make us a sandwich
    Thirdly the damdami taksal ALLOWS women to do every seva except for panj pyara di seva... Last year I went to a taksali program and there was a female katha vachak who you could say was taksali... There were many taksalis at the same program... In satkirans mind she probably would have thought the taksalis would have beaten the female parcharak off the stage lol...
    Fourthly the Damdami taksal does not think of women less than men... I have met with many real Taksal students not taksali wannabes(mostly the wannabes are from the west who think they are so hardcore cause they are wearing a ddt hoodie on) who put women is such a high pedestal... The wannabes have no knowledge of the granths so they interpret stuff to their limited gyan...
    The sikh rehat marayada bans females from doing kirtan at darbar sahib... Talk about equality right!
    In my opinion the panj pyara should be done how it was done in 1699 with 5 men and 1 women... I am not sexist or a women hating pig I just like to stick to what happened back then.. It makes it feel original! I know satkiran will disagree with me..
